The knife had sunk into his skin, but at what cost? The moment he flapped his huge wings, everything seemed to speed up. Her skin was burned, and her voice rang clear as she shifted back to her true form. Her wrists were now scorched, but she didn't even get a second to contemplate the burning sensation as she was flung backwards into that beautifully expensive T.V. A shuttering gasp sounded as her back arched, shards of glass digging into her skin at every pore. The ponytail holding her hair back had snapped, letting the inky locks flow free behind her. It was poetic violence, in a sense. How something so beautiful could be so hideous. Blood dripped down her chin, but she didn't know where it came from. Had she broken more ribs? Her spine even? What if a lung was punctured, or one her organs had been batted around like a tennis ball. Though, she wouldn't get to know, would she? He was coming to kill her, and she had failed the one thing she was supposed to do. She didn't know how to teleport again, her mind couldn't even process that at the moment. She couldn't fight him, she couldn't even properly move now.

Instead, she was given one last offer. Her eyes moved off the Shepard, and they moved over to Shu. Tears had been welling in her eyes from the pain, but now they were spilling over her cheeks. Shu wasn't even moving now. He was the good guy here. He was supposed to make it out alive. Everyone loved him, and he was just kind, and nice, and he smelled good...

"I-Is he okay?" She whimpered out, staring at him. She just couldn't look away.

calypso calypso [/div][/div] [div class=Content] Walking before Lilith without a care in the world, his golden blood was soaking down his right leg looking almost to be metallic. Akin to mercury as it oozed out onto the floor. She'd done her damage, and judging by the exhaustion and the sinking bags under Julius eyes, she very may have gravely injured him. Not that it mattered, as he was fighting with the full expectation to be snuffed out by his siblings soon enough; this was just his exit act. "What a waste of last words." Julius spat back, turning his head for a moment and looking back at Shu, only to then bring his attention back to Lilith. "No. He's dead, you can die knowing you failed. You can die knowing it's your fault that you're both dead." With these cold words said, it was clear from how he stared down at Lilith that he honestly believed his own words. Shu and her dying was his doing, not hers. Shu would never take back meeting her, even if he knew what was coming. Bringing his blood soaked foot up, he'd lower it and step down on Liliths throat, slowly applying pressure as the warm blood washed over her skin. Angel blood supposedly able to melt through Demons worse than any holy water, she'd simply feel a slight tingle and nothing more - Either because he wasn't as holy as he thought, or she wasn't as wicked as he thought. Forcing her to look up at him as he began to close her windpipe, Julius would offer a sweet smile as he brought the sheers up, the blades making a squeaking sound as he closed and opened them a few times. "I send you back to Hell, pest."

As Julius spoke with an immensely condescending tone, he'd lean down with the sheers to start carving away at Lilith. She would be forced to have her last sight be of a beautiful man, consumed by madness and driven to a wicked holy crusade that even his peers deemed as wrong. His feathery wings stretched out behind him, looking fluffy and pure which was a complete contrast of the actually type of person he was. Irony at its finest. At least she could die with the solace that soon enough she may run into this fiend in Hell on her terms.

"Lilith."

A familiar voice sounded, a quiet ring that echoed from nearby. Almost like lucid dream before death, she heard Shu. Though this dream quickly became a reality, as stretching behind the large wings of Julius were even larger wings. Immensely large to properly match the size of he who bore them, Shukun Zhao now stood behind the bending over Shepard with his right hand reaching out. While doing so, crackling blue electricity shimmered from tip to tip of his newly sprouted wings - The golden hue of his eyes now glowing with the same intensity as any pure angel she may have seen. It seems the weapon she placed to trap and attack their enemy angel directly impacted his own bloodline; instead of killing him, awakening his truest potential.

Just as the sheers made their way to the bottom hem of her shirt, about to cut it off before skinning her, Julius would feel the weight of a large hand hold his shoulder. Pausing, the sudden weight of another celestial looming so near pressuring over him, the Shepard began to look back and towards Shukun who simply glared down at him. It's as he began to recognize exactly what was going on that his eyes widened as much as they could and true fear began to flush his color. He was already weakened, mainly from the deep blow to his chest and his lap, and now he had this to deal with? "Get out of our home." With that, Shu would clutch firmly before spinning and hurling Julius towards the very window he'd tried to punch him through earlier. Spinning like a top, unable to slow his momentum by opening his wings, he'd collide head first with the thick glass only to puncture through and start soaring through open air. Only before crashing into the stone wall of the building across the street would he manage to open his wings and flap them in time to stop in mid air, hovering weakly.

Turning to look back towards the apartment, he'd look just in time to see what would help him continue his path forward. The nightstand that was on Shu's side was hurling through the air, the heavy hardwood furniture crashing into Julius and sandwiching him between the cement building across the street and its own surface before it shattered into him, the wooden fragments raining down the few hundred feet below. Fortunately, the streets were relatively empty, as the debris harmlessly fell down on unmanned sidewalks and empty cars. Shu on the other hand stood in the hole leading to the outside, his wings shifting ever so slightly as he stared down the Shepard who was holding onto a seam in the building across the way. His body was broken, blood oozing from multiple lacerations and his agape mouth. He wasn't capable of using his ability in this state, and if he were to let go, he'd surely plummet down to his own death. If he held on, soon enough, his family would arrive.

"Consider yourself lucky I have no idea how to fly yet." Shu said through the hole, wanting nothing more than to take the sheers of the Shepard and cut him open now. The victory was had, however, as the mans jaw was broken and he wasn't even capable of doing anything other than not plummet down. Convenient enough, as his priorities were elsewhere - Knowing the danger was gone, Shu would turn and move back to Lilith, kneeling down at her side and reaching out move her loose hair from covering her face. "It's okay, you're okay." He spoke to her in his soothing voice he'd used moments before the Shepard actually arrived, soon after moving to pick her up once he checked to make sure she wasn't in any real danger of dying, and if she'd allow it he'd bring her to the bed. [div class=PostBox][div class=PostName]Lilith[/div][div class=PostImg][/div][div class=Credit]Created by IdyllicDreamer[/div]
How worthless she was in the end. Her mother was right.

The smallest noise left the back of her throat at the notion Shu was dead. He couldn't die. He promised her-- That stupid son of a bitch had promised her that they'd be okay. He even flashed her a cocky grin before the Shepard walked right through that door, just to remind her of what was to come. Stupid dates, more dumb jokes. They were going to fight for her rights together, for every demon. He was different than the other angelics, he was something special. What had he seen in her? She couldn't stop the Shepard, she just couldn't. She wasn't a special cop, or a secretly trained demon. Lilith was just a girl with unfortunate timing and a more unfortunate job. As the thoughts raced through her head, she hardly noticed the foot slowly lowering down onto her throat. The tingle of blood was the only sense of feeling she had now, the tips of her fingers going numb. She couldn't smell anything anymore, and the ringing in her ear was starting up again. What would happen when she died? Would Shu be waiting there for her, or would she be sent to Hell in damnation? No matter what she did, she'd be a sinner on the scale. She was a demon, a creation meant to be destroyed in the end, a plaything of God and the Archangels. Who was she to think she may be something more than that?

Her lips parted as Julius's foot nudged her chin in his general direction, but she could hardly see him. Everything had gone blurry, and all she could make out were the fluffy white wings behind his head. She didn't want to die. It hurt, it hurt to die. She didn't want her life to flash before her eyes, mainly because it sucked. Everything had been good in the last few days-- So, so good. Happiness and comfort and warmth, Lilith had it all for once. She had been greedy, hadn't she? All that Shu gave her, she accepted it graciously. She had wanted it so bad. When it first began, neither of them wanted to admit to love. But all she could feel as her own breath was stolen away, was love for Shu. Love for what he had given her in the last few days, the opportunities that had opened up. Demons and angelics could get along. They could live together, bathe together, they could even love each other just the same. As her eyes began to finally shut for the last time, she could even hear his voice.

"Lilith."

The tingling was starting to go numb, the pressure too much on her throat as her lips desperately gasped for air. Her arms were long gone, she couldn't use them to rip and tear at his foot to get it away. When the pain of death actually hit her, instincts kicked in. She wanted to flail and scream, but she just couldn't. She could only accept her death now. Another shuttering gasp sounded, but this time-- She could breath again. Air was greedily sucked down, but her eyes would remain shut. The ringing in her ears had grown violent again. It didn't matter, though. She could hear the crashing of several times, and blurry voices drifted in one ear and out the other. Were the Archangels here? An angelic presence was still present, pure as pure could be. Maybe they'd give her a proper funeral with Shu, considering there's no damn way they'd let her out of here alive. No demons, no issues.

With her eyes squeezed shut, it took her a moment to realize a hand was gently brushing against her cheek to move the now loose hair away. A small gasp sounded, but that was the only noise Lilith could make at the moment. Strong arms lifted her up a second later, and Shu could feel that her back was soaked with blood and glass. Her features bunched up, before she slowly peeled her eyes open. Only one thing could be said.

"S-Shu?"

calypso calypso [/div][/div] [div class=Content] Smiling down at her, Shu would simply pull her close before letting out a quiet sigh. "Your back is cut up." He muttered, the black blood seeping through his shirt she wore and coating his arms and lap as he now sat on the edge of the bed with her in his arms. "I'm going to get you to a hospital, again, just know we did it." His voice was as soft as always, speaking to her with a tender tone that projected his care for him. "And Lilith-" As he continued, he'd move to get back to his feet now that he knew she was able of being conscious and only cut up a few places on her back. "- I love you."

Though now wasn't the time, he'd raise her in his arms while lowering his own head down. From such action she'd feel his lips lightly touch at her forehead, and right after he'd move to exit the room with her, barely managing to tuck his newfound wings up so he could fit through the door. How he'd planned on getting in his car was another thing - Fortunately before they got very far, a crack of thunder would be heard just outside. "B-Brother, No! I di-" Another crack, followed by silence. Shu naturally paused, as even for him a presence was felt. Unlike that of an Angel, or a holy knight, an Archangel was now present. Slowly floating into the hole in the windows Shu created, Michael himself would land with his light feet quietly crunching the shattered glass under him. A man adorned in silver armor stood there, a cape of gold and white hanging from his back while a crown of grape leaves adorned his head. With his long hair pulled back into a topknot, the Angel stared to Shu and Lilith with white eyes that burned brighter than any star - Almost impossible to look into. While you'd expect an overwhelming aura, the feeling from Michael was subtle - A peaceful presence that projected the very idea of 'speak softly but carry a big stick', as in his right hand was a long sword that appeared to be crafted out of a single ray of sunlight that somehow captured blue arcs of lightning.

"I know all my brothers and sisters, but you're a face I don't recognize. Explain." His voice was clearly demanding, wasting no time with pleasantries. Shu was almost quick to do as told, almost as if the very commanding presence dominated his mind. Though, he'd pause and look down to Lilith. After a moment, he'd look back to Michael and speak clearly and confidently. "Of course, but before I do please heal my lover, Lilith." Words that could never be expected, as even the stoic immortal that was Michael raised an eyebrow to show his curiosity, though instead of answering Shu he'd simply act. Without moving, or so much as touching Lilith, her wounds would totally vanish. Her old scars remained, though any new wounds she'd received showed no signs of ever existing, and the blood she'd spilled had vanished as well. Shu, who was visibly astonished by such a display of power, looked to Lilith to make sure it was true, and if she confirmed such to him he felt it may be best she stands beside him during this explanation.

Involving Liliths heavily in the conversation, he'd go on from the very beginning, the story starting before Lilith was even in the picture. He'd explain the racism from the police and humans in general, and how Lilith was nearly wrongfully prosecuted. He'd explain the case, and the former Julius' and the part he played. He even compulsively found himself telling the full truth, explaining the power of Lilith and how they used it. Constance came into the conversation, and he'd even mention his enjoyment in sharing a bath with Lilith. While looking Michael, the eldest Archangel and king of heaven in the eyes, Shu said "I love her, and look forward to a long and intimate life together." In fact, his explanation on how all this came to be was more or less spoken as a love story on how a part angel came to feel for a demonic stripper. From the very beginning Michaels brows were furrowed, almost as if even for a timeless being like himself this was all just a little too much, yet by the time the story caught up to the current the Archangel simply nodded. "Very well." He began, soon after turning his gaze to Lilith. "Speak now what you wish to add." He of all creatures offered Lilith the same opportunity to speak as he did Shu, and judging from his expression, he was just as invested in hearing her side. Was it possible Michael had no prejudice? The man-- No, the angel holding her was Shu. The gorgeous white wings she could see in the corner of her eyes were his. The overpowering scent of pure angel; It was him. Had Julius done this to him? Did Shu really die and come back as an angel? A tiny whimper sounded from Lilith, but it was hard to tell why. It was safe to assume, however, that it was from the pain she currently felt. She had become completely limp in his arms, blood soaking through the shirt and into his lap. They weren't just cuts on her back, but he couldn't possibly know the internal damage she suffered. Hell, she didn't even know the extent of it. Muttered words came from her blood-stained lips, but they were nonsense at this point. Her vision was starting to blur again, and a high pitched whine arose from the back of her throat. She needed medical attention, and she needed it soon. Fear was present on her features, the thought of dying with Shu alive now terrifying to her. But something he said had caught her attention...

Did he say he loved her?

Another frantic murmured sounded as she tried to convey her emotions back to him, but it was futile. Every syllable was another shock of pain through her system, and she knew she just couldn't handle anymore of it. So as Shu began to leave the bedroom, his wings almost comically too big to get out, her eyes shut again. She was still clearly breathing, but it was swallow and wet. A rasping noise rattled her chest every time she inhaled, the exhale weakly following after. If she just closed her eyes for a bit, it'd be alright. She was tired, after all...

When Michael himself descended in the bedroom, Lilith had gone silent. The only indication of her being alive were the faint and raspy spurts of air that escaped her. Even the overwhelming presence of the Archangel was lost to her. Faintly, in the back of her mind, she registered that Shu had stopped moving. Weren't they supposed to go to the hospital? Were they already there? A weak cough sounded from the woman, a groan of pain quick to follow. Someone else was talking now, but she couldn't recognize them. She really needed some medicine, or something like that...

Like an electric zap, Lilith was suddenly jerked back to reality with a loud gasp. Her eyes flung open, and all her sense flooded back to her at once. An Archangel was here. Shu was an angel. The Shepard was dead. Where were the wounds on her back. A frantic look overtook her visage for a moment, but once she looked upward at Shu, she relaxed slowly. He couldn't of healed her like that, angel or not. Which meant...Michael had. Her gaze looked over to the Archangel, but she found herself only looking to his feet. Anything above that was just too shiny for her eyes at the moment. Shu's arms shifted around her body, soon placing her back down on the solid floor. Expecting a wobble, she pleasantly found herself rather refreshed. If an Archangel could do that without even blinking...Why weren't they on Earth more often? There wasn't any time to ask questions however, as it was their turn to explain it all. Reaching down, Shu felt Lilith intertwine her fingers with his own. They were doing this, together.

When Shu had finished majority of the story, of which he mentioned several things that could of been excluded, Lilith found herself under the harsh spotlight of Michael. A gulp visibly shifted in her throat, and her fingers squeezed at Shu's. This was the one time she was likely ever going to speak to an Archangel, so what would she say? Thank you for healing me, or perhaps express gratitude for ending the Shepard? No, instead she found her lips parting and an anger boiling up in her gut.

"All my life, I prayed to you. I prayed to the angels, the Archangels, anyone who would listen. All I got in return were boils and blisters, and a harsh dose of reality," she began softly, her eyes soon raising to watch Michael's face. "You're older than this city, and most of the world. You know how humans work, and you know your influence. You also know that demons are hardly any different, yet...Yet you let them all trample us. Would you care if the Shepard was just killing demons? What did we ever do to deserve this sort of hate when we just want to live?" She finally demanded, a determined look overtaking her features. Yet, a certain sadness was present too. As a child, she had relied on him and other angels to protect the demons. She had wrongly believed they were worthy of the Council's time. Now she knew better, but she still had questions. Why weren't they worthy? Why did they have to suffer the most?

calypso calypso [/div][/div] [div class=Content] Though his hand was in hers, he'd visibly wince the moment Lilith began speaking. Not because he himself was harmed, but because he knew well that tone she was taking and could guess the direction of her words. Michael, however, quietly listened with the same curious raise of his brow returning yet again. As stoic as he may be, these were still new experiences even for a creature like him; If anything he'd find himself grateful that his fathers garden still offered new challenges for him. It is only after Lilith finished speaking that she'd hear a quiet hum resonate from the lips of the Archangel. "Very interesting, Lilith. It seems your prejudice against heaven has blinded you from reality." As condescending as that may sound, he quickly went ahead and began to explain his words.

"The prayers of a six year old asking for food is never unheard, regardless of whether or not you're human or demon." Michael began, not expressly hinting at her in particular. Yet. "Nor are the prayers of a teenager looking for an escape from her vile mother." It's now that he made it obvious that her prayers, like the billions of others, were not only heard but remembered. "How you interpret heavens answer is clouded by your prejudice. We cannot just descend and help you, but we can offer you the strength to take on your own challenges. You may have lived a childhood in hunger, but you never starved. You may have suffered the torment of your mother, but you escaped. Many humans aren't so lucky, young Lilith." Almost as if preaching, he'd hoped to show her that there was no apparent difference between her situation and the millions of human cases world wide.

It's only now that his piercing eyes would move from Lilith to Shu, clearly feeling as though he'd answered her main questions well enough. "Heaven never intends to interfere with the trials of those who call this garden their home. Demons and Humans alike. It is because Julius killed humans and made global threats that we noticed and put an end to him. I deeply regret having to do so, but even if his path was strictly killing demons I assure you both it would have been the same fated end for him." It's only now as he explained this that the bigger picture should be clear. The image of Angels, as pretentious as they may seem, comes from how humans describe them. Humans speak of them as the enemy to Demons, which is why they are globally seen that way. Humans were the ones who preached hate, and aggression. It's never an Angel who breaches through the doors of a Demons home and raids it.

"All the issues on Earth are the same as they have always been. They are a test, one for Humans and now Demons to resolve on their own." It seemed this was simply another trial of Earths history, though one that had certainly gone on long enough. "Yet, I suppose now there will be some heavenly interference." As he said this Michael finally turned to leave, having other issues to attend. "You are an Earth bound Angel, Shukun. Hopefully you can help your home with that lover of yours." It's as he stepped towards the edge of the open window, Michael simply raised his right hand. "Merry Christmas." He said before his fingers snapped. A loud bang akin to a gunshot would go off, and in the moment they flinched they'd see their world had changed. Almost as if nothing had happened, all the damage in the penthouse had been fixed, though clearly Michael forgot something as there was still a missing nightstand.

After a few stunned moments of silence passed, Shu would quietly begin to laugh. What started as a nervous chuckle began to grow, and grow, until he was booming out with hearty laughter. One that when he was in, he'd squeeze Liliths hand and pull her in for a firm hug. This was far more than he'd bargained for, and a week ago when he first meet Lilith he'd have never believed any of what had happened could have been possible. Because of this, he was silenced by his own laughter, unable to help himself from tearing up from the joy that now filled his very core. Listening to the answer Michael gave her, she wasn't too sure if she was pleased with it. Would she ever be pleased about that sort of thing? What she wanted in the end would take an impossibly long time, and maybe she was starting to expect too much from everyone around her. Billions of humans, millions of demons...Who deserved the attention of the Archangel in the end? Michael had apparently remembered her prayers, and helped her in the one way he could. It just...never felt like enough. She had survived, but at what cost? Her mental state was still mediocre at best, something she'd have to work on with Shu now that this was all over. Therapy sessions, and just a lot of talking...Maybe even shutting down her mother's business or putting someone else in charge. That may just help, even a bit.

Her brows furrowed together as she thought all of this over, clearly contemplating Michael's answer to her. At least she could say she met an Archangel and walked away from it all. Something a lot demons likely can't say, given they were dead now. Her fingers continued to squeeze Shu's own, but was only when Michael began to leave the premise did she snap her attention back to him. The pop sounded, and she winced a few seconds longer than normal. When her eyes opened, the bedroom was returned to normal. Only a nightstand was missing. Hopefully nothing too important was in it, given Shu flung it out the window to slam into Julius. Still, she was given no time to process this. Shu was soon wrapping his arms around her and laughing gleefully, and it was infectious. Her arms came around his, though she found it a bit difficult with wings on his back. Laughter spilled from her lips, happy tears soon following along. They had survived.

They did it.

After of mixture of laughing and crying for a few seconds, Lilith slid her hands around from his back to brace them against his shoulder. This allowed her to push her head back a bit and stare up at him. With wide eyes, she exclaimed to him. "SHU! Holy fuck, you have WINGS! Did you just fail to tell me you're like a full fucking angel or something?!" She said, but there wasn't exactly anger in her voice. Instead, it was a palpable excitement. Her boyfriend was an angel! "And, oh my God, you were on the floor after getting shocked before, and I was freaking out but I had a plan. And I just...I just teleported! Like from one spot to another so Julius wouldn't see me! I don't even fucking know how!"

calypso calypso [/div][/div] [div class=Content] Her excitement brought his laughter raging back, and as she explained her newest mutation of her ability he couldn't help but smile widely and warmly to her. It was true that when he'd been zapped he'd more or less lost all perception of what was going on around himself, at least until whatever the hell were in those marbles forced his latent angelic powers to rise within him. Her flicker went unnoticed, but that didn't make it any less exciting. "Hah. Looks like we both are in the same boat, then." He began with his tone still warm and friendly, his arms soon unwrapping from around her as he'd step back and take both her hands in his own. "You don't know how to redo what you'd done, and I have no idea how even use these." Shu nodded back with his head towards his wings, one of them flinching in response. "I maybe should have asked Michael for some tips, like at least how to get rid of them..." As he mused a few regrets, he'd lead her over to the edge of the bed and move to sit down. In doing so he'd have to pause and adjust his wings so he didn't sit on them, now each of them stretched out and draped over both sides of the bed and onto the floor. It looked about as awkward as it felt.

"So, defeating the Shepard. At first it seemed impossible, but now... Now what is next seems so much harder." With a slight sight and a softening of his still in place smile, he'd look to Lilith with a bit of concern in his gaze. "We have a lot left still. We have us, and as Michael said, the rest of the demon and human coexistence debacle kind of falls on us. I hate to say we are the 'chosen ones', but I kind of ascended thanks to magic dust and you're now a teleporting shapeshifter, so..." As he tried to make a point on how if anyone was going to try and bring their species together that it may as well be them, she'd feel his thumbs begin to lightly rub the inside of her palms while he still held her hands. "I know it's a lot of work, right after doing a lot of work, but I think we have to do it. I want to do it." Letting him lead her over to the bed, she just looked down at him as he spoke. A warm smile began to spread over her cheeks, the buzz of excitement settling over her like a golden wave of booze. A buzzing had started in her toes, rising upward like champagne throughout her body. Maybe it was just adrenaline, but she couldn't be happier. Even if the back of her shirt was completely cut up from glass shards, or that his had been ripped off from the sudden burst of wings-- She couldn't help but believe everything was just over. No more dipping into shady parts of town, they could stay in the happy spots together. No more hiding in fear from a crazy angelic that may just pop up and kill them if they slept in a bit too long. "We can be extra lazy once I figure out to keep popping back and forth, which I realize now I sound very casual about. Just know in about an hour I'll totally be freaking out over the fact that I have two powers instead of just one. Is that even possibly?" She asked in a giddy tone, unable to stop the joy from seeping into her voice. It was just a constant stream of 'AAAA!' in her head at the moment.

When Shu became a bit more serious in his tone however, Lilith calmed her electric nerves enough to listen to him. His thumbs were definitely a bit distracting as they ran across her palms. Still, when he finished his thoughts, she spoke softly. "We normally just call magic dust cocaine," she joked lightly, her smile indicating she was still a little shit in the end. "But...I'm ready, Shu. Terrified, admittedly, but also excited. Excited that I get to spend days and days with you, growing closer and learning about each other. Even if we only change the mind of one person..." She spoke softly, but the message was clear. She had changed the mind of Shu, and look how much they had done together. When they went public, it'd be something else.

"Though, I do have one condition. I get to touch your wings."

calypso calypso [/div][/div] [div class=Content] Nodding in agreement with her comment on going about their new task, even if not incredibly successful it was still something they had to try. Though the comment on touching his wings brought about a rich laughter again, his incandescent eyes happy as they looked to her. Even after all the joyous moments he'd felt moments ago, in the corners of his eyes tears still scintillated from the light of his eyes. "I guess I can allow that, though maybe a trade-" With his voice now lowered, it was clear he'd had to focus as his wings started to shift forward only to arch before himself until they wrapped all the way around Lilith and left her trapped in a little circle with fluffy soft feathers on all sides except the one which lead to Shu who still tenderly held her hands.

"I was thinking maybe you'd let me hold your tail?" He offered the trade with a sly grin, knowing well what he was asking. Sure, they hadn't gotten to enjoy a real date yet, unless you considered hunting a murderous immortal a date, but considering how close they were and how quickly things had moved up until now.

A moment after he was done speaking, his wings would slowly start to close around her, taking away more and more of the free space to move around that she had thus forcing her closer to him as they began to press against her back in their feathery softness. "Unless of course, you think we should just get right back to work and not have a quick break." A huff left the back of her throat, the said tail giving a good flick or two as he slyly mentioned a 'trade.' Of course Shu would be cheeky in a moment like this. Puffing out one cheek to him, she allowed herself to slowly be scooted closer and closer to the angel. His wings surely sent a shiver up her spine, the soft feathers brushing up against her skin now that he kept them so close to her. In an attempt to keep her facade up, her cheeks puffed out once again. But his wings were starting to push up against her back, and she was getting far too close to Shu for this to just be a little tease. Her head tilted upward, but all she could see were his wings. How damn large could these things possibly be? Sleeping in the bed was going to be a lot harder if he didn't figure out to make these magically poof away.

Looking back to catch his sly grin, a blush began to creep over her features. He really did wear her down, but was really too bad? "You can hold it for ten seconds, and no funny business. I'm in the perfect range to bop you right in the nose, and don't think I won't. I just stabbed a different angel nearly in the nuts, so I guess you could say I'm totally crazy," she joked, but a bit of nervousness was in her tone. Would he abide by her rules, or would he be a little bit less than angelic?

"I just want you to know, if you think your wings are as sensitive as my tail, you're about to be a world of hurt. These things are at least the size of the bedroom, I don't even know how you're gonna drive to your job now."

calypso calypso [/div][/div] [div class=Content] Her little threat was heard but he knew well the worst she'd do to him was the bop she offered. "Honestly, they're so fluffy and light that I can barely feel anything on them." While speaking the wings actually brushed up against her as if nudging her closer, and closer. While he felt her against them, he felt no sensation besides something akin to having your head patted. Though for her it'd surely feel like a down blanket was enveloping her, impossibly soft and fluffy as it moved against her back and brushed along the sides of her arms. It was all there for the taking, she need only reach out to sink her fingers into the pure white feathers that encased her.

His hands however would release her own, reaching up and out he'd move them to her waist. His touch felt against her hips before firmly holding her, only to then pull her close to close any distance that may have remained. If she'd allow it, he'd try and recreate a scene from just an hour ago from when she was sitting upon his stomach. Now however he'd aim to mover her to his lap, still sitting on the edge of the bed and hoping to draw her chest against his own. "Ten seconds. No funny business." As he looked to her and repeated her own words, the last phrase seemed oddly familiar. No funny business. Of course he intended to abide to her wishes, and he'd never do anything that made her uncomfortable and that she didn't want, but once she was seated neatly upon his lap she'd feel his right hand slide back along her waist until his fingertips tenderly touched at the base of her tail.

Wrapping his hand around it, he'd pull his own hand back towards himself with enough slack that the smooth skin of her tail would slide between his fingers. Though the space between his clutches wasn't enough for the bulbous tip to fit through; soon getting caught in his palm as he brought it up and between the two of them. Looking down to the plump sensitive flesh, it now between both of their faces, he'd simply flash a slight grin before whispering out to himself. "No funny business." The words were repeated, and the heat of his breath likely felt against the end of her tail. Though not nearly as much as what was to come next, as Shu leaned ever slightly forward and pressed his lips against the tender skin. Kissing it lightly, only to shortly thereafter part his lips to lightly suckle at its very end. No funny business. Something was telling Lilith that this wasn't just going to be ten seconds.

Allowing herself to easily be moved into his lap, Lilith only focused on trying to calm her breathing. A soft feather brushed up against her warm cheek, and her eyes shut as she leaned into it. Though she preferred the feeling of his hand against her skin, this was an equally welcomed feeling. She could only imagine what they'd feel like, wrapped around her completely. Softer than any blanket she had felt in her life, even the ones Shu gave her. Not like she used though, anyway. She ended up just sleeping in his bed and using him as a pillow. "No funny business," she repeated back softly to him, but she hated how weak her voice sounded. Her eyes were half-lidded, but there was obvious look in her gaze as she watched him. It was a look of love, and devotion. Whatever happened now, they'd do it together. The Shepard was dead and gone, and they were still standing. It was odd, how quickly they came together. Lilith had never been one to believe in destiny, but maybe the thought wasn't so far-fetched. The attraction was near instant between the two, like two puzzle pieces snapping together. Maybe the mighty man up there himself decided the war between angels and demons had gone on too long. Sent down two opposites that would be drawn to each other in the end.

Maybe they were going too fast, and they'd regret it but. Yet...She knew in the end, that wasn't the case. Something in her just knew that from this point on, no matter whatever they ran into...They'd be together. Facing the public would be tough. It may bring them down for a while, but they still had each other. A smile played at her lips at the thought of it, but it was soon replaced by a shocked squeak as he took her tail between his lips. So much for no funny business. A blush instantly blossomed on her cheeks, but she didn't pull away. Instead, her hands reached upward to gently run along the dome of his wings, feeling the downy feathers as a shaky exhale escaped. They then dropped down to his chest, giving a bit of a push as an indication for him to lay back. "Maybe...Maybe just a little funny business. But don't tell anyone," she huffed out again, but the smile was still present.

That night was something history hadn't witnessed before. But that wasn't such a bad thing, especially when the two of them loved each other as much as they did. They were only two people, but times were changing. They blurred the lines between angels among demons, and they'd continue to do it for the rest of their lives. Lilith would just have to learn to live with some bad jokes from Shu.

The End

calypso calypso [/div][/div] [div class=Content] Three hundred and sixty six days had passed since their victory over the Shepard. It took them fifty to get a public announcement from the Heavenly Council, one in which Gabriel told all citizens of Earth that heaven views Demons the same as it does humans, and that the evils of the world are still only caused by mortals. They said both their kind were welcome in the afterlife, be it hell or heaven. After that, things began to quickly spiral into a new era.

Shukun and Lilith pioneered a better future for Human and Demon coexistence. Their first step as aligning with the United Nations to outlaw genocide of demons across the globe, their relationship naturally frowned upon by world leaders, but they were strong-armed by being reminded an eternity in hell would soon follow their short lives if they didn't comply to the demands of a sassy demon and lawful angel. After only a hundred and eighty days Demons were registering their children in human schools, parents outraged at the idea soon adapted as their kids began to make humble friends. Bullying by race was almost non-existent, because Demons were just 'cool' considering the abilities they had and dynamics they added to friend groups. Two hundred days and the first Demon and Human marriage occured, immediately after thousands of cases happening around the world as love bloomed between their species.

The pair that started this all now worked together for a branch of the united nations to bring peace between their people, leading a small work force of demons, humans, and even part angels. To everyone’s surprise the full angels were acting totally the same as they did before, those who were a bit more stuck up in their ways towards demons quickly changed their attitudes after Julius had been struck down. An eternity of life in heaven was not worth losing by simple prejudice, after all. Needless to say, because of their everlasting life they were all still rather snooty. Because of that neither Lilith nor Shu much enjoyed their company when going over certain details of their work.

Three hundred days into the year and rights for Demons were the exact same as humans, a global change that threatened to even shatter borders between nations. A unity unlike any seen in history creating an almost globalist world as the world leaders had to unite to properly avoid damnation and correct their laws on civil rights. With the threat of hell now real, the world was working to better itself at an alarming rate. The environment, hunger, and medicine were all priority when it came to peace among peoples; individuals now actively seeking out good deeds in hopes of raising their chances of eternal happiness after their lives. This change in the way people thought finally gave Lilith and Shu more time to themselves, not like they ever didn't enjoy fixing a world that was clearly so broken. In that time they'd even traveled the globe, experienced new things together, and shared a love indescribably deep.

In these three hundred and sixty-six days Lilith was now the owner of Shukuns Cadillac, now a licensed driver and legal citizen she was definitely sporting the top of modern luxury. He had no need for a car anymore after all, as his wings were one of the first things he'd learned to use. Though with her newest ability, when it came to traveling the world they weren't lacking. It was only after their first Christmas together, the morning after their first time making love, that Lilith got her first cellphone. A material gift that Shu had ordered online while she was hospitalized, wanting her to always have a means of reaching him in case she needed help. A sign, one that first alerted him towards how he felt for her. This Christmas, however, was something new.

Waking in the same penthouse he had before, now decorated with memories of their travels together around the world, a tree was actually set up in the living room. No ornaments, only trinkets they'd collected during their work, and small frames holding pictures of them in dozens of different locations. Along with that, a single box from him was awaiting her to open it. Like usual he was up long before her, and by the time Lilith finally stumbled into the shared space he'd have his phone in his lap while sipping one of the two mochas that he'd freshly prepared for them. His attention leaving the good news on his phone, the previous NYPD detective looked to Lilith as he offered a smile. "Good morning, my Rose~" He spoke softly, though a certain excitement was clear in his vibrantly golden eyes. Naturally the wings were gone, having had learned how to do that only after the first night of uncomfortable sleep after world shaking good sex. The kind that made him need a good night’s rest. "Coffee is on the counter, and that there is for you~" With his free hand he'd gesture to the present, a box no bigger than shoebox and wrapped in white and gold paper with a little blue bow on the top.

About a hundred days after the Shepards demise the police department found his home, a place filled with research and notes on his victims and means of taking them out. It was a real den of insanity, one which Shukun had been notified of even while working on helping push the world towards a better path. Something that Winters personally brought from evidence to Shukun on a lunch meeting to catch up was a certain item, one now in the box that Lilith was to open. As once she did unravel the packaging, she'd see inside something she'd been without for too long. Her horn, its crack secure without any missing pieces from the break she still has. Along with that, fastened at the base was a golden band; a sizable diamond fitted neatly upon its front with intricate designs on the band itself. The 'ring' was supposed to be used to tighten and permanently fasten her horn back in place, making it so the gem would always be visible when she faces you. Any time she'd look in the mirror, a symbol of Shukuns love for her would always be just above her. A golden halo from and angel, to her.

Naturally by the time she could look to him, he was already off of the chair he'd been seated on. Down on one knee just before her, with a warm smile across his face, Shu looked up to the love of his life with hope in his eyes - With a voice full of warmth, he'd speak to her.

One year can change people. It can alter relationships, or turn their lives upside down. Personalities change, and so do beliefs. Yet one sassy demoness stayed practically the same, along with her angel boyfriend. What can she say? You don't just change perfection.

After they spent that one fateful night together, everything began to go uphill. It was a struggle, to say in the least. Even if she was smart in her own way, Lilith had lacked basic skills taught to students in high school. She hadn't been too happy about it, but Shu ended up hiring her a private tutor at night to help her learn different course materials. Not only was she taught the basics of math and english, but she was also taught the needed life skills one has to have to survive. She learned how to balance a check, and file taxes. Those sorts of things were required of her now, given she was a legal citizen. It was frustrating, and at times she even shouted at Shu. Yet he had been patient with her. Even when she cried into his shoulder and ruined another one of his lovely white shirts, they'd sit down after together with mocha and work through the math again. When it was all said and done, they'd stay up in the kitchen. Talking to each other, telling jokes, and wondering about the world. When she wasn't learning how to manage her own cash, she was taking part in other activities. Unfortunately, the first time she rode a bike resulted in a broken tail. Shu had even framed the photo of her in the E.R with a cast on majority of it, a stupid grin on his face as she pouted. But in the end, he was still the first one to sign her cast. Driving was also slightly disastrous, given Lilith constantly forgot to put her seatbelt on and had a knack for slamming down on the gas instead of a gradual increase. Luckily, she never crashed into anyone. A tree, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. Least it wasn't the Cadillac.

Other things, however, were harder for Lilith. At the insistence of Shu, she got help for the trauma her mother gave her. Therapy was hard at first. She whined like a child to Shu, begging for him to not make her go. That the thoughts were just thoughts, and that's all. But once again, he broke her down and got her into the office. The first few sessions were difficult, and the therapist even brought in Shu to speak with her about why she was having such a hard time trusting her. It was a long process, but she slowly cracked. The more she spoke to her doctor, the more she realized she needed to speak with someone else besides Shu. He understood, but they both knew he wasn't trained to help her when she fell into a panic attack. When depressive thoughts of her mother kept her up in the night, staring out the window while he slept. Closure finally came to her when Shu informed Lilith of her mother's arrest. With laws now in place for demons, her mother was convinced of several counts of tax evasion and fraud, along with trafficking and unsafe work environments. Lilith had been long out of the loop to charge her mother for child abuse, the statue of limitations having expired long ago. Yet she went to her mother's court case and testified against her. When she left the courtroom and her mother begged for one more chance, and just a little cash to pay bail, Lilith turned on her heel and didn't look back. That was the last time she ever spoke about her mother, and Shu knew better than to ever bring her up again. She was done with that chapter of her life.

On thing that had been on the table was Lilith possibly getting her own degree. Since demons had gained legal status in society, she had been working gigs at bars. Singing to crowds, and even attending parties. It wasn't the most stable of incomes, but she helped pay rent the best she could. With demonic children now attending school, Lilith was constantly looking into becoming a teacher. The private tutoring had gotten her to the point where she earned her GAD, something that was currently displayed proudly on the wall. It wasn't any college degree, but she was working on it. In fact, she was enrolled to attend a community college come the Spring semester. Shu had already teased her enough about 'back to school shopping,' but even he had cleared a spot on the wall where her degree would go. He swore she'd easily pass the classes, given she was about as old as the professors there. Hopefully it wouldn't be too awkward. School hadn't been an option while they were traveling together, but things had finally calmed down. On their anniversary, Lilith snuck out to buy Shu a large bouquet of roses, before promptly apologizing to him that she wouldn't be able to help pay rent this month. He had just laughed it off, saying it wouldn't be an issue soon enough.

Come Christmas morning, Lilith awoke in their bed with a loud yawn. Old habits die hard, and she still commonly slept in his large t-shirts. She had demanded for him to be careful with them, given how often he busted shirts open to spread his wings. He had even walked in on her own stealing them from their closet to hide under the bed, just so she could still sleep in them. Sure, she owned PJs, but these were much better. Rolling over to pat the spot he should be, Lilith just let out a bit of a grumble. Couldn't he sleep in on Christmas, for goodness sake? Her feet swung over the side of the bed, and she hardly glanced to her phone as she stood and stretched. A yawn sounded, and she shuffled out from the bedroom towards the living room. Shu was sitting down near the tree, a giddy look on his face. Sticking her tongue out to him, she walked past him to plant a kiss on his forehead and snatch up her coffee. "Ugh, it's Christmassss...Couldn't you just sleep in a bit longer? I'm exhausted still," she muttered, before taking a long sip of her mocha with a happy sigh. Extra chocolate, just how she liked it. At the mention of the gift, her eyes darted under the tree. A frown barely graced her lips, and she placed the cup down. "Hey, I thought we said no gifts. This better be like...I dunno, something." Bending down, she scooped the box up and began to unwrap it. A few pieces of paper fell to the floor, and judging from the stunned silence, Lilith had seen it was her horn. Her jaw would be agape, the black material smoother than ever. Like it had never been broken off from her head. Not to mention there was a ring on the bottom of it, surely meant to clasp the extremity back onto her head. But it looked like a wedding ring, but Shu couldn't possibly--

Turning to look at him, a loud sniffle arose almost immediately. There he was, down on one knee in front of her. Somehow, he had managed to find the one part of her that was missing. Something so silly, yet the gesture was clear. Her lips parted, but he knew her answer before she spoke.

"Of course, you dumb lover boy."

When Shu had offered to take Lilith on a hike for their anniversary, she at least expected him to know where he was going. It was about two hours into the expanse, and Lilith was starting to drag her feet behind her. A picnic basket was hooked onto her elbow, but she was starting to think the food inside of it was growing too warm. Who wanted to eat room temperature egg salad? Sure, Lilith had become an excellent cook, but she had no control over the environment. Watching Shu's back as he walked ahead of her, another groan finally sounded from the demoness.

"Okay, okay, I know the journey is part of the...reward, or whatever, but couldn't we at least fly to this spot?" Lilith muttered behind him, her tail giving an irritated flick. She had somewhat of a point. Shu had wings, and he very much knew how to use them. He was also good at carrying Lilith when he soared about, though she tended to keep her face tucked away in his chest to avoid looking down hundreds of feet. One time he thought it was hilarious to pretend and drop her, so he slept on the couch for a few nights. (That was until Lilith of course wanted to snuggle again. He wasn't one to deny her such a request.) "I'm starting to sweat, and my hair is even tied up! You know it's bad when that happens," she added as she quickened her pace, only to move in step with him. Her head angled upward to peer at him, and she gave him a certain look. Her hair was currently in two long braids, thrown over her shoulders. She wasn't exactly the type of girl to cut it. In fact, she could just change the length whenever she pleased. She often did, too.

"I know this isn't exactly the spot, but could we at least stop for a snack or something? My stomach is growling now, and I might have to resort to eating you if not this sandwich. And I really don't want to eat you, you're pretty cute," She lightly teased, before offering a sly wink at him.

She, of course, also still flirted with Shu. They were married and all, but it was still fun to tease. [/div]

Setting:
Upstate Maine, Hiking

Interactions:
calypso calypso [/div][/div] [div class=Content] Lilith was quick to complain, at least a little bit in most situations in this nature. Typically it was only in tedious times, such as waiting or long car rides. The kind of wife who would ask "Are we there yet?" when still cruising along the freeway miles from their destination. Fortunately, she'd married a patient man who only offered a smile as Lilith began to speak her woes from the back as he pushed on while leading them through the trail. Though he couldn't help but agree with her some, they'd been out for a while and they did more than enough walking in their day to day normally, and it wasn't like they were really dressed for the weather given how the sun beamed down on them now. A constant pain for the couple was finding a comfortable climate, or things of that nature. Showers with her were always too hot, and frequently she'd forget to turn the bath temperature down when she got out meaning he'd have to wait an hour for it to cool down to a temperature that wouldn't burn him before getting in for a soak of his own. In situations like this, however, they walked because if they took to the sky she'd complain like always about how cold the high up winds are.

Once she was to his side and they walked together, he'd let out a quiet sigh before closing his eyes and slowing to a stop while he thought. At this point she was right, entirely so, and it was likely he actually took them down the wrong path. Before he'd done this hike on his own and came across a beautiful meadow with a blossoming tree with long wispy branches abloom with dark pink budding flowers. He wanted to eat there with her, the pack he currently wore carrying a blanket they could have laid upon and a few refreshments. Yet, at this point he wondered if they were even going the right way? Maybe just a little further? Yet...

"I suppose it doesn't matter where we eat, I'll have a great view regardless, my rose." He chimed in finally, his golden eyes opening again and looking to Lilith with a slight smile. There was still a constant tiredness to his expression thanks to his day to day, one that was now exhausting not because of any police work but because of the politics that came with being a global sensation - An Angel whom was wedded to a Demon. Scheduling of night shows, Ted talks, conferences and things of that nature had been consistent ever since world wide legalization and a dramatic change to the way the united nations handled demi-human species.

Bringing his shoulders back, he'd start to shrug off his bag so he could at least lay the blanket out over the ground in a nice patch of lush green grass near the trail they were currently stopped on. As he began to unzip the bag, and fish around to move about the contents so he could remove and start unfolding the blanket, a quiet chuckle would sound next. "Indeed, no eating each other." He'd agree quietly, though the way his lips pulled back into a smirk it was clear he wasn't done with this train of thought of his. "Least not yet, can't have our desert without eating what you prepared for us first." And there it was, the words at least subtle as he teased back in his own way. Though she was definitely used to her good two-shu angel not being all that righteous when it came to certain human desires. It was also clear from his confident yet quiet tone that he was rather proud of his own words, even with how silly they were.
