Fantasy Ancient Earth [OOC]

James is a highly relaxed individual, usually happy with simply kicking back with some alchohol and good company. He tries to refrain from acting like he is a persons superior, yet occasionally a situation calls for him to act his rank. He tends to enjoy the company of civilains as opposed to military personel claiming it makes him feel more at home. That said he is far more comfortable in the air, with his cigar lit, and the clouds beneath him.
Background
The military wasnt the first choice for james, but the air was always his passion. He lived the normal life of a teenager from a big texas city, born and raised in houston. He got into trouble, made friends, fell in love a few times, but he could never seem to settle. He always wanted more, shooting not for the moon but for the stars behind them.

In college he found that he was a bit of a mechanical whiz. His love for all things air related causing him to choose a major in aeronautical engineering where he found out the ins and outs of how to operate all manner of aerial craft. It wasn't until he was 22 and four years into his degree that he discovered he would need years of piloting training before he could actually fly. That was unless he joined the military. It was a no brainer for him, he enlisted within the same week and was off to basic. When he finally made it to piloting school it was obvious that the young man was a natural born flyer. He graduated with the best simulation scores that the air academy had ever seen. He spent the following three years transporting valuable cargo and personnel all across the battle field priding himself on his flawless flight record.

Extras
Though he is no master in hand to hand combat, James is still military trained and his natural competitive nature has gotten him into the top 20% hand to hand combatants in the Armed Forces, he is also a very skilled marksman able to hit a target from 1000 yards with his rifle, or 200 yards with his sidearm. All that said he is most well known for being the best ace pilot in the world. Yet even the best can loose from time to time.
