"Sounds like flattery to me," Dawson replied back with a smirk. Just then, their natural order was returned. She spoke to him in admiration and Dawson responded in the wit that got her attention from the start. This is good. Dawson thought as he watched the woman he loved quickly disappear into her room only to return a few moments later more appropriately dressed for their adventure together. When she returned he didn't notice at first though, his back was turned to her, as he noticed new pictures of Isabel and Amelia hanging on the wall. I wonder how Amelia's doing, well I can only hope though that's probably a far fetch from the truth. Dawson wanted to ask Isabel about her best friend since he was still genuinely concerned for her well being but he didn't feel as though he had a right to do so since there was still a tension between them. Dawson knew Isabel hated it when people asked about Amelia just to distract her from being angry with them and he was afraid if he asked it would bring up the subject of Josie again which he knew to avoid at all costs. It wasn't until he felt Isabel's head against his back, he noticed her return. Closing his eyes, he held a breath for a few seconds trying to think what this all meant, what Isabel was thinking right now. Was she showing affection towards him because she still loved him the way he hoped or was she getting her fill of him before she said goodbye? It was hard for him to tell. Not being able to take the silence anymore, Dawson called her name to get her attention. "Isabel," he whispered, turning around to face her. watching her refuse to come out of some sort of daze he couldn't recognize. What was she thinking? He wanted to know. No, you don't. Don't ask questions when you're too afraid of the answers. Now isn't the time. Sighing contently at her question, Dawson shook his head with a knowing grin. "You're not going to get me to cave, Whiskey. I have to protect the wonder or all is lost. Are you ready?"
