The Purple Soul
An Author's Words
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There's a mediocre-sized town in Oregon, called Hamartia. In the springtime, the weather is nice, though days can get very, very warm if Mother Nature wishes it so. It's a Saturday afternoon, and a group of book geeks are hanging out by the Scieptum River, which runs through their town. This group of friends are big on literature, and have many of the classics put to heart. They even started the Literature Club at their High School, of which they are currently sophomores.
On this nice afternoon, a picnic is currently ongoing. Antics occur, and someone notices that there are bubbles coming from the bottom of the calm river, as if someone were breathing under the water. After hurryingly making sure that no one was drowning, they notice a book is making the bubbles, as it rests on the rocks blow the water. They fish it out, and notice that its not wet at all, and seems to be breathing.
Then they open it.
This was possibly the worst thing to possibly happen, and also where our story really begins.
This is the book of Prospero, which was to be drowned at the end of his story. Not only does the opening reactivate the magic within, it jump-starts into the river, and thus, into town. Now, elements, concepts, characters and villains from classics and other novels have been given form, allowing magic into the town of Hamartia. But one of the biggest challenges has yet to come.
The Owner of the Drowned Book and the Broken Staff.
Prospero.
Hello Everyone! So after reading quite a few classical books recently, I decided that the magic and other worldly concepts and items in mythological stories or poems or other kinds of literature would be cool to have in one, big adventure. You guys would be the kids, who are the ultimate trivia-masters to all the stories brought to life by the Drowned Books, who found the catalyst for the stories contents. You use tactics from stories and the magical artifacts from them to stop your town from being destroyed, and allowing the stories out into the world.This is semi-detailed and literate, so if your interested, just reply below!
