Realistic or Modern American Mobster - Web of Lies

Looking to build an America based Mob RP in a group setting. Day to day lives, drama, love, danger, and all the rest. I'd like to build the general story line with my group instead of in advance so that its more suited to the players. It will be OC chars with photograph face claims unless you just really have a great drawn char to use. This can be done here or on discord. I'm taking any and all ideas for the moment as I start building this up more, but if you're interested I would love to hear your input on building this into a full RP.

Two families vying for control in 1950s town of New York. One family - The Lupos - are an Italian American family that runs casinos, bars, and grimey street business. The McKinnan - An Irish American family - runs the gambling dens, races, and drugs both legal and not legal. They've got an old feud between the two families that can only be resolved by one thing - A marriage between the two families that ties them for life.

Just throwing ideas out there.

Hey! I could potentially be down for roleplaying in this if a group manages to be formed. I'm not terribly predisposed towards group roleplays, but I'm living for the snippets of ideas you've gotten down. I like the idea of a dichotomy between two rival syndicates running different aspects of the same city, and both toying with the idea of a tying bond, but still trying to find ways behind the other's backs to overtake the other and avoid the aforementioned marriage.

I'm not planning on a large group - more or less 4-5 people with double ups (or more, I RP in another group where I have over 10 chars but I don't expect anyone to do more than they want too)

Within the Lupos, we have an internal power struggle - brothers trying to both take the spot of their father after he passes. While father is alive, there is a clear cut power line, but after he dies, there's a vacuum where one brother, picked but less enthusiastic about it feels he HAS to continue doing as his father instructed - leading the family. Younger brother or possibly sister is better suited, wants it more, but cannot do so without taking the older childs spot and disregarding their fathers dying wishes.

Within the McKinnan, we have a char who controls the family but is slowly loosing their grip due to PTS and drug addiction. The easy access within the family grasp makes it so they are drowning their pain in their vices. Its causing chaos within the family and its own internal power struggle as the rest of the family is starting to doubt their ability to do what they need to do.

Damn, I am a sucker when it comes to unfiltered Italian characters and the whole grimy setting of a down-in-the-dumps life but everything is going as planned because I cannot make up my own damn mind vibes with too many gray-walking characters. You SOB, count me in!

AHAHA was that an intentional Rick and Morty reference, or just happy happenstance? Glad you're in! Do you have discord? We can chat out some ideas while we wait to see if we can get a few more people to bite

Mainly happy happenstances, but Rick and Morty aren't bad either.
