In a universe where testing experiments on humans is perfectly valid, it might not be so strange to see deformities occur. From angelic wings, to blotches of scales on someone’s skin. Of course, then there are the pures… considering that about half of the humans alive aren’t experimented on, and the other half are put through torture.

The pures are scientists who have not had their genes, blood, or body modified.

A cast is a person who was or still is an experiment with modified bloodlines and genes. A pure is one who’s genes have never been tampered with. I have you make one of each to keep the roleplay even and fair.

The casts are humans who have been modified in some way. (Limit! You may only have two supernatural perks, this includes things such as a siren’s voice and angel wings… or maybe a merman like human that can cause blood to curdle. Or a demonic looking human who’s scales serve as armor and has horns to impale their enemy.)

Casts are kept in facilities, there are five existing facilities. A1, A2, B1, B2, and C…. those in C are destined to torture and death.....

The facility is large, the blocks for A, B, and C are all connected by tunnels underground. These tunnels are mostly holed up besides a few passage ways that require key card identification.

Rai paced back and forth in her cell, there were ice particles about it. It was summer and the air was warm. All of the casts will be allowed to wander outside and socialize, of course, everything will be monitored by armed guards who can attack those who cause trouble... well, try to escape. Fights were perfectly fine. After all... it was easy to monitor and identify their behavior. See what might make them tick... what might make them aggressive...
—————
Loki never got put away for good, he was mostly allowed to wander. His father (Lupus) allowed him to after all... considering that the man still claimed that since Loki was half pure, he could do what he wanted so long as he allowed tests and trials to be performed on him. Loki was only nine but was one of the most tested on due to his being successfully part bird... He right now sat on a window ledge in his bird form, as if he is caught by his father as a human... the man tends to get aggravated. The bird was letting out a whistling tune, black feathers looking purple in the sunlight.
—————

The man known as Lupus is an expert in torture... plus... he really enjoyed seeing them squirm. His son, on the other hand, he insisted on keeping close... especially in his bird form. The music produced keeps him in a calm and content mood, making Lupus more merciful towards his subjects as he would work with them in simpler ways. Such as when his son got sick and stuck in his human form, the music wasn’t possible during that time and he had seven of his patients sent to C block... they were all killed brutally with their organs removed... one by one...

Staring ahead as she patrolled the yard, Lily signalled for the doors to open. She was dressed in a black pantsuit that framed her large curves. Her dark green hair billowed behind her in a slight breeze. “All, line up in ranks of five, form groups of twenty five! Anyone out of rank will be sent to their cells immediately. It’s time for roll call!” Rai and Loki, hopping on the ground as a crow, went to their locations, the woman waited for everyone else. Many uncommon casts (aka NPCs) went to their spots as well, eager to get to stay out in the warm and nice weather to socialize. There was a garden, trees, and paths, even a pool and water display... definitely a soothing environment.... there was a dome field around for those who can fly, making it unable for them to escape.

The armored metallic figure stared blankly at his hand, which at the moment, gauntleted. He simply drenched his hand into a fist, and rotated this way and that, the inlaid gold and Nordic inspired knots flowing from his hand all the way down his arm, and halted at his shoulder. He opened his palm, the handicraft and fine workings of the piece simply astonishing to anybody who has ever seen what true art looks like. And, as if hit by a passing breeze, it slipped off his hands, the very inner workings that held itself fast to his hand disappearing, the armored man only having to tilt his wrist downwards to the rest of the masterpieces strewn about, as if they were nothing but scraps.

Tired of attempting to find a limit to the intricacies of his design, he remembered that around this time, usually they would he let out of their caged to 'socialize' or what have you. Frank was sure that it really was to prevent insanity from setting in, or to emphasize that this was really just a prison. He clenched his hand again, a new gauntlet reforming around it. This time, it was studded with small gems at the knuckles. This wasn't important. Frank stood up from his sitting position, stretching his biologically enhanced arms upwards, before leaving to go outside.

By the time he reached the yard, he heard the call to line up on the wall, to which he did, not wanting to disobey direct orders.

Alec Reynolds

The muffled noise from the other Casts bustling around outside served as both an annoyance and a comfort for Alec, though he'd never admit the latter; the cacophonous chatter of the others only worked to annoy him as a buzzing that only shifted to coherent words if he bothered to tune in, but the sound of others nearby also let him lie to himself that he wasn't truly trapped. Not like in the early days, and never again like that if he had his way with things; he now had power and he'd fight if needed in order to survive.

His eyes opened to gaze into the darkness before him, the light of his cell and the outside world thoroughly blocked by the dense layers of feathers that were his wings, as Alec felt out into the surroundings with his gift, feeling the solid walls that refused to give and the open doorway, left open for the period of socializing the others were granted each day - something that he largely refrained from doing as it meant interacting with his lessers.

Everything played itself out in his mind's eye, granting him a partial sight akin to if he used echolocation as waves of telekinetic energy grazed upon the finer details of that which surrounded him. As he continued this exercise, the unseen waves he generated began to explore farther into the outside world, leaving through the open doorway to paint a picture of those that passed by his cell as blurs beneath his gaze - ants to a ruler - before pushing farther on into the outer courtyard beyond, where he knew he'd be required shortly. Soon enough, he reached the limit of his 'sight' as the details blurred and all that he could see now were indistinct blobs that only registered to him as people due to their movement and size. He focused on a single object that hovered in the sky, attached to a familiar blob by a cord, before he began to relax.

"In, out. In, out." He began a low chant as he focused on his 'Sight', his eyes closing once more as the waves began to recede back towards his cell once more. The minutes passed as he took his time, pulling back the waves of telekinetic energy until they surrounded his enclosed figure once more. As his wings unfurled from his seated form, the unseen energy sunk down to rest a mere few millimeters from his skin.

"The number 5," he said aloud before turning his eyes up to the corner of his cell, where he knew a camera remained hidden behind a black, mirror-like surface.

"Good job, Alec," a familiar female voice replied from an unseen microphone within the cell. "You're getting better at this, I don't think any of the other telekinesis users have thought of using it this way; and the fact that you're improving shows that you're growing stronger."

"Of course, I'd be disappointed in myself if I remained among the mundane," Alec replied as he made his way to his feet and began to stretch, his body was sore from remaining seated for so long and his wings were cramped from enclosing around him. Originally, he'd be sore for days after one of these tests from both maintaining the uncomfortable position and from straining his gift; now, though, he'd become used to the pain and discomfort that came, to the point that it would only provide a mild inconvenience to his everyday activities in the form of a mild migraine.

"Well, Alec, it's about time for roll call, you should probably head to the courtyard and-"

"I must lead by example, obviously," Alec interrupted with an arrogant smirk. "We'll continue this later, I presume."

"Certainly, and I'll make sure to visit in person later." With that the voice of Skye Williams cut off, leaving Alec alone once more.

"Let's get this over with." The Cast said to himself before he left his room with his wings tucked tight to his back, a cell long since stylized to serve as the room of nobility at his repeated request/ demand.

As he emerged, his eyes scanned the many faces of the Casts passing by, though many appeared to be aiming to avoid his gaze and even the very entrance way to his cell. He was an old face to the Facilities, having been around for close to twenty years now, and he'd made a name for himself even among those he didn't associate with. He was the Prince - a title given due to his arrogant, superior attitude, his seniority with the Facility over many, and his relationship with Dr. Skylin Williams, the young, rising star among the scientists - and he acted like it. With quick steps, Alec made his way through the groups of Casts, at times giving some in his way a gentle nudging to the side with his Gift, and never slowing his pace. As he entered the main courtyard, his head turned up to watch as the woman, Lily, strode forth and began to talk, commanding the others to line up; as she finished speaking, he was already situated at the front of the central-most line.

Dr. Skye Williams

On the monitor before her, Skye watched the feather-clad ball that was her brother as he completed yet another of the various tests that had been designed to test his abilities; though no one had expected that he'd learn to use his telekinesis in a manner similar to echolocation. As the minutes passed, she watched intently for any change until, finally, she saw the familiar burst of light and the wings unfurl from around him.

"The number 5."

She smiled when she heard him speak, her eyes on his when he turned to face one of the numerous cameras spread throughout the cell that he called home. They went through a quick exchange before he left the room, heading for rollcall, her smile leaving once she saw him shift to another camera, one that tracked him as he made his way towards the courtyard. It felt weird that so many years had passed before she'd found him again, here at her father's work, but Skye knew that, despite the pain that she knew Alec had gone through, he was still the same boy she'd known for the brief time they'd lived together.

"That was good, people; the more we know about his abilities, the better." A male voice cut through her thoughts, coming from one of the other scientists. "If he's this inventive with his abilities, others may be the same. And the last thing we need is an unexpected surprise causing a containment breach." Her co-worker continued as she, and the others in the room, turned to look at him. Soon enough, as he pressed on, she tuned him out as she did routinely. This was another of her co-workers that viewed the Casts as less than human, one that treated them like test subjects to be tossed aside. As the man finished talking, she stood and began to leave.

"And where are you going?" She heard the familiar, grating voice ask as she began to leave. "We still have tests to run."

"It's time for my lunch break, and I have other matters to attend to, Mike." Skye didn't bother to turn to him as she left, not bothering to wait any longer as she started on her trek to the nearest cafeteria.
