I was thinking a mini bossfight with another body horror + dreamlogic type enemy that is the psychological vampire thirst. Clayton will still drink a shit ton after though...

Clayton is from a time period and place where excessive drinking of hard liqor was common. When he turned he hated his thirst for blood so much he drank even more. This was both to spite the mages that turned him and to cope with what happened. He drinks to suppress his thirst 200 years later. As shown recently alcohol is no true substitute for blood and Clayton will fully succumb under the right circumstances. Also he has no booze buzz in this dream world. This forces him to confront his demons directly and explains his current beast-like form.
