Realistic or Modern Agency X [IC]

Literally Batman

World's Greatest Detective

Sejerø, Denmark
Agency X Primary Base of Operations

The chill of the early Danish winter sent chills throughout the primary headquarters of the assassination agency. The failing radiators struggled to produce adequate heat to combat the bitter cold of the northern winter. An inconvenience of being a highly secretive murder-for-hire organization was the inability to hire everyday schmucks to fix any problem around the mansion. Your everyday pizza guy, plumber, and in this case, repairman weren't generally good candidates for keeping their mouths shut about a secret mansion full of assassins in Denmark, and as such, Agency X had to find specific people from across the globe to deal with quotidian problems such as home maintenance. The guy that had found would hopefully be there within the next week, so until then, the modern Danish residence would remain several degrees below a comfortable level.

Awakening in his room was Theo Hugo Stewart, the Timber Wolf, an agent on Agency X that was particularly annoyed with the "let's freeze in the icy winter" situation. Theo's room was modest but decorated, with a modern bed on one end and a desk on the other. Hanging from various notches and corners were an impressive variety of firearms, all displayed wall-to-wall like a gallery of art; several of the weapons were quite literally framed like van Goghs on display in a famous museum. Lodged between two assault rifles was a dartboard with several CEOs, lobbyists, and the like plastered onto it- their heads expertly pierced with razor-sharp darts. Laying on his bed was Theo, wearing a plain white t-shirt and sweatpants that hung from his limber body. Rubbing sleep out of his eyes, the professional assassin grabbed a suppressed .22 handgun from a=its notch above his bed, placing it in a leather holster and latching that onto his waistband (you never know), before standing and quickly stretching. He then journeyed down to the kitchen, perhaps to ready a good breakfast.

The kitchen was absolutely pristine in every way, pure white counters and sleek modern angles at every corner. A long white counter, the top constructed out of sleek metal, stretched down the center of the kitchen, with several glass chandeliers, each one modernistic and a unique work of art, with the sides of the room containing every kitchen device known to mankind- a variety of stoves, ovens, cookers, and more lining the walls. Built into the wall was a large rotating rack of pans and pots, along with a pristine glass knife-block. Agents would learn that more fascinating than the smart kitchen was the variety of self-defense mechanisms imbued in it- for example, typing in "6734" into the microwave and then pressing "Popcorn" sends high-voltage currents of electricity through a certain pattern of floor panels, and tilting the potted plant on the counter 45 degrees to the right and then kicking a hidden pedal on the floor causes a jet of fire to emerge from what appeared to be an innocent vent.

To Theo, though, what was even more amazing than all of this was the fact that he was the first one awake. Normally, Theo slept as late as he possibly could, but today, his Circadian rhythm must've been off. Ah, well. Life works like that sometimes.

Theo pressed a button on the wall, causing the rotating circle of pots and pans to hum and spin to the right. Theo promptly grabbed a pan and placed it on the glass-top stove, heating it slightly. When he was awake for it, breakfast was his favorite meal of the day.

Besides, his soldier's instincts were tingling. It'd been much more than a hot minute since their last mission as a team (a month to the day- a long hunt in Greece to exterminate a shipping mogul), and since then, there had only been occasional individual missions to hunt down the Hand of Crime. Theo had a feeling that something big was going to happen soon.

And his feelings were normally about right.

Typically, Marcel was slow to rise in the morning hours due to the comfort of warmth and relaxation his bed exuded. However, this past week had been a crude opposite. The heating situation in the mansion had been a municipal annoyance amongst the residents, despite his lack of outward backlash against it. The wait was bearable, seeing as if they were to fix it immediately the threat of exposure increased dramatically... Rolling over with a groan of old age, he lazily grasped onto the glass scotch glass upon his nightstand. There was a little less than a finger left from the night before, regardless he downed the liquid as if it were water. Taking a deep breath, he pushed himself from the comfortable confinement of his bed, settling to a sitting position. Unlike most residents of Agency X, his taste remained much less modern. The largest wall of the room, with a space for his bathroom door, was strictly custom mahogany bookshelves. It was organized alphabetically with an assortment of ages of books. His personal collection rivaled that of the one the mansion offered, and often he felt like his fellow Agents preferred his books rather than the library. Furthermore, the shelf contained his personal stash of vinyl records, which were only for himself to use. His bed sat opposite the shelves, along with a quaint desk facing his sole window... Marcel finally rose from his bed, hurrying to the bathroom to face the day...

Around twenty or so minutes later, Marcel emerged freshly showered, and cordially wrapped in a towel. Making his way to his full-size mirror, he studied his reflection carefully. "Age hasn't treated you with generosity..." He thought silently as he ran a hand across his thin-muscled shoulder. "Just put the finishing touches on, and get through the goddamn day..." With that, Marcel quickly entered his closet to find a suitable outfit for the day. Settling on his dark blue jeans, he slid on a pair of polished charcoal Oxfords to couple the pants. A white button-down dress shirt followed, with a cashmere crewneck sweater to follow. Finishing off the outfit, he wore a dark grey English-cut blazer. Marcel glanced once more upon the mirror, then left his room.

Marcel heard the footsteps of another as he neared the kitchen, which didn't surprise him. He always was consistent, never being the first nor last to rise in the household. Though he was surprised to see Theo up at the hour he was when he entered... "Well, your hypothalamus isn't up to usual speed..." Marcel said jestingly as he slipped past the boy to start the coffee pot. "If you don't mind garçon, could you make me one over easy?" His quiet tone paired with his French accent always made him a calming presence, despite his cold exterior. Grabbing a mug from the pantry, he raised a curious eyebrow to the boy if desired a cup of coffee along with the older man.

Fan Xiulan "Nightshade"

Usually an early bird, Xiulan stared blankly at the ceiling in the comfort of her bed. The cold of the mansion, much to everyone's annoyance, had reached a new record, and she was not about to leave what little warmth her blankets provided. It was unfortunate they couldn't just get a repairman or her brother couldn't fix it himself, to fix the heater. They had to like always wait weeks before anything got done. She sighed, tossing the blankets aside and stretching, listening to the sound of her bones popping as the protested the movement. Her hands she noted were again covered in charcoal, from the sketch she had been doing during the night. Xiulan slipped out of her bed and glanced around the room. Everything was neat and had a place, each and every blade perfectly placed in its spot on the shelves she installed. Her desk was a bit messy with paints and charcoal just laying around, but other than that the rest of the room could be described as minimalistic. Of course, other than the many, many knives, there were several weapons hiding in plain sight, it was Nightshade after all. Walking to her clothing, she grabbed a pair of black skinny jeans, black long sleeve turtle neck, and a long-sleeved grey mesh sweater. Xiulan then located her belt which held her six throwing knives and a bottle of pepper spray. Grabbing her taser and putting it into her back pocket, she slipped on her slippers and walked out of her room, after making sure everything was in its correct place.

Typically her morning would start with a workout, but she wasn't in the mood for it this morning. Instead, she decided to head to the kitchen. Of course, she had knocked on Xiuying's door, but hadn't received a response so she let him be. Making way to the kitchen while fixing her hair into a messy bun, she was a bit surprised to see two people already up. The cold must really be messing with her inner clock. She shuffled her way over to them, grabbing an orange before finding herself a perch on a counter nearby. Theo and Marcel, Theo being the biggest shock of the two. "I must have slept really late, or you're up exceptionally early." She stated, reaching and grabbing a knife from the block, starting to carefully and methodically peel the orange in her hand. "Either way, Good Morning." She added in, absorbed in her task. Her voice lacked everything, except the politeness she offered with it, which was pretty normal for her. It was something she never bothered to change.

Emery Denzel
Unlike most, the cold temperature of the mansion didn't really bother Emery all that much, as he had long since grown used to the cold, even preferring it in some cases. Emery found that today was one of those days as he rested comfortably underneath his blanket, having changed it for a lighter one sometime during the night. The cold was calming and refreshing, also helping to keep his mind clear. He had been awake for a while but hadn't even rubbed the sleep from his eyes, as he was feeling lazy, and he didn't want to move from the comforts of his bed. 'I can't just waste away all day in here though, I did that yesterday, and one day is enough.' He thought to himself with a sigh before pushing himself up and out the bed, stretching with a small yawn. Because he hadn't been watching where he was going, he tripped on one of his discarded notebooks, barely being able to catch himself. He clicked his teeth before kicking it lightly to the side so that it was out of the way, before glancing over the rest of the room. "I should probably clean it up a bit." He muttered to himself, before shrugging his shoulders and assigning the task for another day, it wasn't like not cleaning his room was going to kill him anyways.

Upon entering the bathroom, Emery turned on the shower, having forgotten to take one before he practically passed out last night. 'Perhaps staying up so late wasn't a good idea.' He thought rather absentmindedly when he saw the bags underneath his eyes. He payed them no more mind as he stripped and stepped into the shower, only taking ten minutes before he was out again. He wrapped a towel around his waist before he grabbed another and began towel drying his hair, not in the mood to be more thorough than that. When he finished he threw on a simply black, short sleeved shirt, black joggers, and black socks with lime green aliens covering them. He then headed back into his room to grab a brush and run it through his still damp hair, only enough to get the tangles out, not trying to tame it so early in the morning. 'If push comes to shove, I'll just put it in a ponytail.' He thought as he grabbed a hair tie of his desk, as well as a butterfly knife, making sure the knife was closed before slipping it into his pocket.

He then left his room, hearing noises as he walked down the stairs and knowing that he wasn't the first one up (although that wasn't a surprise considering the fact that he was always one of the last ones up). In the kitchen he saw Theo, Marcel, and Kim, all of them looking busy one way or another. "G'morning." He said rather absentmindedly as he sat down at the counter, his head perking up a bit when he saw Marcel holding mugs. "Would you please make me some as well?" He asked, assuming it was coffee and needing that extra kick so that he could at least have some energy for the day. Especially since he couldn't laze around the whole day like he did yesterday.

Joslin Pierce "Hex"

Joslin had been awake for a while, sitting curled up in her bed, reading over her mother's journals. Glancing at the time, she decided to put them away. It wasn't like she hadn't read that one before, after all. A quick glance around her room made her sigh. It was divided into three parts- Workspace, Garden, and sleeping corner. Her workspace had her desk which held her desktop monitors and her two travel laptops and the rest of her gear stored on shelves or drawers. Her garden space had herbs she used for medicines and on occasions, toxins. It had its own artificial sunlight she designed. The sleeping corner held a dresser, bookcase, and her bed. Somehow she made it all fit in the space. Joslin threw off her blankets, almost instantly regretting it as the cold swarmed in place of the warmth. Gritting her teeth, she shivered. If there was one thing she despised other than being late, it was the cold. It instantly had her in a bad mood. Something told her the day would only get worse. She quickly changed into a signature grey sweater, a pair of jeans, some socks, her glasses, and a crimson colored scarf.

Joslin, figuring her outfit would keep off the cold, grabbed her gun and holster, before shutting the door and exiting her room. The hacker navigated the mansions with ease, taking her time getting in the kitchen, not surprised at seeing others awake. She had a good friendship, or at least was on good terms with almost everyone. Joslin slid past everyone grabbing herself a mug and a teapot to boil water (assuming there is one, if not then a pot will do). While she waited, she looked around at everyone who was awake. Obviously avoiding Xiulan. "Morning," she said, moving out of the way of the stove since she did kinda cut in front of Theo to use it. While she waited for the water to boil, she made attempt at conversation. "Anything new happening?"

Fan Xiuying "Crow"

Xiuying groaned at the sound of a knock on his door, hurling a pillow toward the noise in irritation. It had been a stormy night for him, constantly having woke up from hot-flashes or night terrors. With a huff of distress, he slid out of his bed happily embracing the cold as it took place of the warmth of the blanket. The cold never seemed to have much effect on him, so unlike most of the people who lived in the mansion, he didn't mind. Nonetheless, he threw a short sleeve t-shirt on and a black hoodie. Then, swapping his sweats for jeans, he pulled on a pair of combat boots. He grimaced a little when he walked, the bruise from a former mission still not having disappeared entirely. Xiuying glimpsed around his room, his arsenal of guns was neatly put away on their rack or shelf. Ammo put away in a standing cabinet nearby. His tinkering area, a desk with a lot of drawers and tools, was cluttered with a project he had been working on. His dresser too was cluttered with gear and a few odds and ends. He would get around to cleaning later. At least the floor was clear. After disarming a precaution trap he had set, he grabbed his EPG (Electric Pulse Gun) and left his room.

The walk was all too simple but had taken slightly longer than normal, since he didn't feel hastened, and the fact his leg was giving him a hard time. By the time he had reached the kitchen, close to half the crew was already awake. Even Theo and Zero, which he considered to be the opposite of early birds. A small smile touched his lips as he spotted both Xiulan and Zero. With a scoff, he stole an orange slice from Xiulan's hand, popping it in his mouth with a smile as he quickly retreated before he was attacked. Xiuying walked over and propped his chin atop Zero's head for a few seconds, before taking a seat beside him. "I'm surprised to see so many people up this so early. Good Morning. " He greeted, yawning despite him trying to fight it off. He looked over at Zero. "Coffee?" Xiuying whispered, asking if the other wanted some. Of course, he would wait till Marcel finished with what he was doing. "How is everyone fairing in this fine weather?" He chuckled very slightly.

Sivil woke up feeling like hell.
His heas hurt, his bloos steamed from nicotine overdose, his entire mind felt clogged by a heavy mist.
Chill environment helped him up to his feet, though, helping him come to his senses and sharpen his vision.

His room was in a terrible state. Which was nothing surprising.
Notebooks, papers, old and new files, maps, cigarette butts and empty coffee cups, both old and new following devices all over it - his room looked like the one of a socialist office worker from Yugoslavia, back in 1970es.
Wherever you looked you saw hoards and hoards of papers. Names of people he was following, his own fake documents, fake documents he crafted for the other members of the agency, notes, post it stickers...
He shuffled over the bunch of papers on the floor, even stepping on some, and looked up at himself in the mirror.

He looked like the waves had just thrown him on the shore.
Sure, he was never an early riser, and his system took a while to load, but today was really bad.

He managed to throw some clothes over himself with a scowl on his face. His casual clothes - an old styled button shirt which was loose on him and pants. He washed his face, brushed his teeth and then carefully combed his hair backwards and nicely twisted his moustache.
He looked, well... presentable.

Somehow managing to avoid stepping on any more of the horrid mess in his room, through a tricky coreography of feet movement, he finally made his way out of it.

He slowly made his way to the kitchen. His eyes were squinted from sudden light of posh and modern interior. Sure, his room looked like that too... once upon the time.

"Coffee?" He overheard Xiuying. Sivil's body dropped nearly dead-like on the chair.
"If you're offering, I'll have some." He grunted, words being quite an effort for him at that moment. With heaviness in his body, he reached over to one of the cupboards and grabbed an apple.

"Christ, I feel like Vergil just took me on a tour through like... at least five circles of Hell." he took a bite of it.

"I got like, three hours of sleep last night. Had to fly to London to get some informations out of this prostitute who has been our connection with famous narcos who's hiding there. My head will explode." He said in a complaining voice, his voice raspy and heavy. He wasn't ready to be his usual relaxed self yet.

"That case isn't even mine." He added with sourness in his voice.

Even though his team's operations were the priority, Sivil often got sent on other missions that included following people, infiltrating certain communities, and mostly forging documents for other agents. He was often asked for help on cases that weren't his, to play a small but important part, to get those backsets resolved as quickly as possible. And Sivil just wasn't a man who could say no. He liked to help and to be useful, but it sometimes resulted in zombie mornings like this one.

He got out a cigarette.
"Anyone got a lighter?" He yawned.

Kkachi

Chau was up since early in the morning. Her bed a mess with the blanket absent, as she was snuggling with it at her desk before her three monitors. The only thing brightening up the room were the monitors and the sunlight coming through her room. She was playing cryptology games online on her right monitor, deciphering a bunch of codes she could do with ease. With the center one she was attempting to call her fiancé, who was getting ready to go to class. Suddenly the center monitor displayed Justin, who was in slacks, drinking a glass of milk. "Morning baby!" Chau said excitingly looking at her fiancé. "Morning sweet stuff." Justin said deeply as he finished his milk. "You slept ok?" he asked.

"Kinda..." Chau sighed. "What do you mean kinda?" Justin asked with concern written all over his face. "It's just colder up here. Plus I miss you." she pouted.

"It's okay babe. You still get to talk to me right?"

"Yeah you're right. I'm just too used to sleeping in the same bed as you."

"We'll sleep in the same bed again soon I bet."

Chau smiled. "Yeah you're right." Justin could always make her happy with just a simple sentence. "Well I gotta go, talk later?" Justin said as he put a shirt on. "Yeah! I love you." Chau said as her smile widened. "Love you too." her fiancé said softly and the call ended. Chau was wearing her charcoal pajama pants with a white sweater. A sign of how she was not used to the cold of the Scandinavian winters. She rushed downstairs, seeing the members of the agency gathered in the kitchen. She avoided everyone and made her way to the coffee maker. She herself wasn't a coffee person and was making hot chocolate instead. She tapped her fingers impatiently as she waited for her hot cocoa to finish.

Danial was outside of the mansion, running laps around it. He still had a lot of Jaeger left in him. The cold weather always had him pumped him up and he was always up at 5 in the morning. He rushed back into the mansion in his beanie, gray hoodie, white tee, with exercise black exercise shorts and sneakers. He stormed into the kitchen enthusiastically "Morning all! Hope you all slept well."

He got a few pleasant glances and nods, seeing everyone who was out of it. Except for Sivil who was grouching in his seat. Danial noticed his cigarette and rushed upstairs to his room. He ran back down with his water bottle and a lighter. He ignited it and took it to Sivil's cig, lighting up. Afterwards he took a swig of water and leaned against the counter where everyone was. Minding Chau who was still hogging the coffee machine.

Aaron "Omega" | Tags: Everyone

Aaron was already up and sitting in his room, a cup of coffee in hand. It was no surprise really, he barely slept unless he needed to. The young doctor sat at his desk, reading over files he had already read over a dozen times. He finished his coffee, setting the mug aside as he got up from the desk. Checking the time, he determined that others would be awake and stepped into the shower. A few minutes later Aaron threw on his chosen outfit, slipping on a coat. Much to his discomfort, the heating unit decided to become unfunctional at the coldest point of the season and with no hopes of it being fixed until the following week, he was stuck wearing coats indoors. Aaron paced his room, looking for his glasses, before discovering them on the desk where he had left them. A long sigh escaped his lips as he put them on and could finally see clearly.

After making the bed and looking one last time around his pretty much empty room, he grabbed his cigarettes, lighter, and empty mug and headed for the kitchen. When he arrived, he smiled as he saw everyone. "Morning," Aaron said, leaning against the counter everyone was either near, sitting on, or sitting at. "ah already this early in the morning, are we? " He shook his head as Sivil talked about his mission. He put his mug in the sink, he would wait for everyone to finish in the kitchen before taking on the house chores such as cleaning the dishes people used. He didn't mind, it gave him something to do after all. "once the stove is free, does anyone want an omelet? or will I just be making one?" He asked, encase someone else wanted something before he took a turn at the stove.
