Many moons ago there were four Clans, JuniperClan, WillowClan, SageClan, and AlderClan who ruled over their respective territories placed in a semi-flooded expanse of wilderness. Though the land has much history already, it escalated a new one, one that nearly torn all the Clans apart. At some point during these four Clans' reign came a long string of murders consisting mostly of leaders, deputies, medicine cats, and warriors, which were carried out by cats from any Clan- told to by someone else with the promise of something the murderer wanted; from higher ranking to refuge. In the end, only a couple of warriors, majority of apprentices, and only a handful of the forced leaders/deputies/medicine cats remained from any Clan and not nearly enough to sustain themselves in their own Clan. The innocent drove off the perpetrators to dispel their inhumane ways, and met in The Field of Small Lakes where they could communicate with the Tribe of Ancestors to seek their guidance. They were left with nothing but a shimmering image in the pools of water, an image of a very large fallen over hollow ash tree and the still living cats set off to find this tree. Not two nights later did they find it, and with four other freshly fallen hollow or partly hollow ash trees, and the cats perceived the message to band together and have this as their home. Now the diverse Clan cats have to figure out how to work together and get along with one another despite trust still a very delicate topic and thing to believe in at this trying time; not to mention, who would be appointed as leader or deputy? How will the cats survive the following leaf-bare with so few warriors and too many apprentices to train?

Due to their elderly two-legs dying, two young cats- one ton and one she-cat- were forced to leave their home in order to feed themselves. They managed to open one of the windows and after a decent amount of time passing by two-leg houses, they found a small opening in a fence that led to a very dense forest. They refused to keep their kittypet names as a show of embracing their new lives. The two traveled for twelve moons before finding a beautiful land filled with small lakes. Deciding that they weren't a fan of muddy paws, they went just to the left of it and found a steep sandy clearing with fallen half-logs along with some huge brushes scattered everywhere. They claimed it as their home. With idea of shelter in mind, the two cats started clawing at the log, that already had some claw markings in it from other creatures, until their pads bled and their claws eventually fell off entirely. They only made a small dent that was able to shelter one.

Now worried that they might not be able to hunt, climb, or run properly- the two cats tested it. They were able to hunt just as well as before and though it proved difficult, running was also something they could do. Sadly, they could not climb anything that was taller then a tail-length above how high they could jump. This made it difficult for them to get out of the sandy dip that they called home. So, they built up their muscle strength by constantly jumping up high to low branches on trees. The two would also sharpen their teeth on stones and practice biting on soft wood to strengthen their jaws for hunting and fighting. They developed powerful hind legs with wind-knocking kicks and killing jaws in a matter of several moons.

When fending off a fox, a rouge came to help them after hearing their yowls. Together all three of them chased off the fox. The rouge was named Fire due to her flame colored pelt. After sharing a meal and telling her all about how they got here, Fire asked to join them since it was harder to survive on her own. The two welcomed her warmly. Soon after the she-cat ex-kittypet gave birth to three kits to which they named Sun, Soot, and Fox- after they chased off their first predator. The two mates taught Fire that they were building a shelter out of the log by using their claws to take away the wood, Fire joined in on their mission of the shelter the same way they had done it, losing her claws in the process. After showing her how to sharpen and strengthen her teeth/jaw, the two hunted for their kits.

After eating a whole bunch of fresh kill, Fire, drowsily and jokingly called called the two cats Brightclaw and Redheather- since they were both ginger cats. The two mates actually liked the names and decided that that was what they were to be called, Brightclaw and Redheather, the father and mother of Sun, Soot, and Fox. A few days after they received their names, Fire wanted a name like it as well, so the mates called her Firefang. In honor of just how sharp the she-cat's teeth were. When the kits were slightly older they asked for names like that as well. They were then called Sunkit, Sootkit, and Foxkit. Redheather told them that they would receive their full named when they were even older and were worthy of them, after being pestered by said kits for cooler names numerous times.

A small time after this, two more kittypets came by the camp since they smelled other cats. Their names were Ash and Smoke, sisters. They both went out into the forest one time and got chased by a badger; once they escaped they realized they were lost. They didn't travel very long before scenting the small group of cats. The small group welcomed them into the camp if they were willing to have their names changed. Without much choice the sisters agreed; newly named as Ashbelly and Smokeshade. They did their contribution to the log shelter; losing claws, sharpening, and then strengthening. Soon enough the kits were old enough to almost recognize them as warriors, Redheather was so proud of her kits that she decided to celebrate their aging with giving them new names. Sunpaw, Sootpaw, and Foxpaw. The kits were delighted with their names after learning that this meant they could be warriors-in-training. The same day two more cats appeared. They were the cats of Ashbelly and Smokeshade two-leg's neighbor.

Once they heard that their friends went missing, the brother and sister decided to go and find them. The rest of the cats were impressed by the sibling's tracking skills and invited them to join the tribe. After failed attempts to get Ashbelly and Smokeshade to come back home they agreed. Crisp was turned to Crispfur while Singe was named Singetail. Sunpaw, Sootpaw, and Foxpaw were finally old enough to become warriors. Brightclaw, their father, gave them their names this time; Sunpool, Sootstorm, and Foxmuzzle. As the tribe decided it as tradition, they all gave up their claws in turn for strength and safety. Now decently old, Redheather, Brightclaw, and Firefang all started to tell the tribe of the warriors who once lived in very sand dip they lived in now to help rationalize why they did what they did. Though they didn't know, there was a tribe that used to live there and who had the same idea as Brightclaw and Redheather- to start making shelter out of the fallen logs. The two mates told them of the Tribe of Ancestors who lived in sacred small lakes that was just beyond the border of where the tribe lived, to both spook and mystify the younger and newer cats.

Believing the story, Foxmuzzle decided to see for himself if such cats exist. He left at night and when he found the field where the small lakes were, two other cats joined him. They introduced themselves as Rabbitwind and Oxheart. Noticing that they all had the same kind of name, they figured out that there was two other tribes beside their own. Soon the cats realized that the small lake closest to them was rippling even though there was no wind. As they investigated they saw that paws were rippling the water and that a cat was sitting underneath the small lake, looking at the cats upside down. The tom told the cats that they were to be the leaders of each of their Tribes. They were to receive their new names once everyone who was destined to join them came. The rippling cat disappeared.

Oxheart, Rabbitwind, and Foxmuzzle went back to their tribes to tell them what they had seen. Foxmuzzle and the Tribe waited another two moons before the last four warriors joined them. The three sisters and brother told them that they were told by a cat of water to go right of where the moon rises and they found this place. They were named Cracklingnose, Flamebreeze, Blazewhisker, and Smudgepelt. A moon after they arrived, Foxmuzzle went back to the Field of Small Lakes and found Oxheart and Rabbitwind waiting for him. Once again, the water cat in the small lake appeared and called them forth, giving them their new names. Foxripple, Rabbitripple, and Oxripple. They were all sent back to their Tribes to choose a deputy and medicine cat. In the Tribe of Foxes; Singetail was appointed deputy while Smudgepelt was chosen for the medicine cat. All the Tribes; Fox, Rabbit, and Ox were to meet at the Field of Small Lakes every moon to show their commitment to the Tribe of Ancestors by sharing all news with them in the presence of all other Tribes.

  • Nine rogues lived near a lake for most of their early lives before being chased out by migrating bears due to twoleg construction. The nine cats, Clear, Branch, Red, Berry, Ice, Wind, Stone, Ash, and Cavern all decided that to have any chance of surviving they would have to band together and look after one another. Clear, who was already pregnant with Branch's kits before they were forced out of their home, gave birth to two she-cats and one tom; Night, Shiver, and Creak almost as soon as they left the lake. The cats took shelter under a variety of brushes until the kits were able to eat fresh kill and walk on their own. The mates, Clear and Branch, were both very courageous and never once lied or tried to lead the others that they were in an okay situation. Finding a lot of danger on their way to a new home, the cats had to train themselves to defend, hunt, and attack any trouble that came at them. The cats practiced building up strength by climbing trees and rocks while keeping their balance for as long as possible. Berry soon became pregnant with Stone's kits after finding a small cave for the cats to call home. They stayed there for only a few moons, since the death of Berry who died giving birth to four kits; Lion, Meadow, Fawn, and Bud. Her wailing and blood attracted quite a few predators nearby. Clear, being the only other who still had milk, helped feed Berry's kits until they could eat regular prey.

The cats traveled continuously from forests to a small plateau and rolling hills. During the time of travel Clear's kits had grown almost as big as their parents. Night was hunting by herself when she found a stray tom and his kits. Taking them back the tom introduced himself as Riverfur and told the cats that he used to live with a Tribe a very long while away with his mate and kits. Due to him and the kits not being Tribeborn or part of the prophecy for the Tribe, his mate told him to take them and leave. When questioned about the Tribe, he told them about the belief of the Tribe of Ancestors and Warrior Code- which greatly interested the cats. Enough to state that they would go to the Tribes and ask to make home there. With Riverfur taking lead, the cats finally had a direction to go in. Ice, who got pregnant with Wind, gave birth to her three kits in the beginning of leaf-bare. Wind named his sons Ginger and Sand while Ice named her daughter Twilight. A long time of snow and freezing nights passed and new-leaf came with the blessing of three more kits, Dim and Water the sons of Cavern and Stone- and Shallow, son of Night and Riverfur. Shiver, who was Night's sister, found a dried out ravine big enough to fit all the cats- so they settled there until the new kits were old enough to walk and hunt on their own.

One of the main strength building the cats had to do was tree-climbing. For a time, Night caught a very bad cough which left Riverfur to train Shallow. One day when both climbing a tree a very strong wind knocked them off balance and they fell to their deaths. The group of cats grieved and fell into panic, now not knowing how to get to the Tribes without their leader. Sand, now older and a father of three, took charge. He figured to follow the direction they had always been moving- to the right of where the moon rises. Deciding that they were already warriors of a Tribe, he gave everyone Tribe names. Him being Sandcloud, Night turned to Nightrush, Twilight to Twilightden, then Lionleap, Meadowflight, Dimreach, Fawnspots, Creakledge, Buddingpad, Shivershadow, Gingerdawn, and Waterfreeze. The older cats gave themselves there own names; Clearlight, Branchdapple, Redhallow, Iceshone, Windclash, Stoneclaws, Cavernecho, and Ashsight. The kits had 'kit' put at the end of their names while the slightly older ones had 'paw' put at the end- much like how the Tribes did.

The older cats were deemed Defenders and Elders, the slightly younger cats were Attackers and Warriors, the even younger ones were apprentices. Sandcloud dubbed himself leader, Nightrush was promoted to deputy, and Twilightden was asked to be the Medicine cat. As founder of the Tribe, Sand named their tribe- The Tribe of Sand. They set off again. On the way, the cats found many strays due to flooding in their twoleg homes. They were adopted by Meadowflight, Fawnspots, Shivershadow, and Nightrush as their new kin- trained by them as apprentices. Not long after Fawnspots birthed Underkit while Shivershadow birthed Hushkit, fathered by Creakledge and Gingerdawn. Meadowflight also gave birth to Silverkit and Duskkit alongside Nightrush who birth Freezekit and Shellkit, Dimreach and Buddingpad as the fathers. Many moons passed and the kits became apprentices ( Silverpaw and Duskpaw helped Twilightden since there was too many cats to look after ) while Lionleap had her second litter, Volekit, Yellowkit, Needlekit, and Pondkit- the sons and daughters of Sandcloud. Another three moons passed before the tribe found a place that would be their new home if Tribes allowed it- the Field of Small Lakes.

The Tribe of Sand had came during a Gathering and so all cats of the other Tribes saw them immediately and demanded answers of who they were and their intentions, feeling a bit threated by how large of a group they came with, suspecting an attack. Sandcloud told them of Riverfur and how the tom explained the way of the Warrior Code to his group and that they wanted to be apart of the Tribes, but as their own. The other three Tribes thought it was a bit odd considering none of them knew a Riverfur, but Sandcloud and his group did know their ways, and they reluctantly allowed them a spot to make home but didn't ever really think of them as a true Tribe and always up to something. Not to mention that they still did things a bit differently from the other Tribes, and seemed very comfortable with other Tribe cats, which started rubbing off on the cats outside their Tribe. Twilightden had two apprentices and even Sandcloud had two apprentices, all the cats of the Tribe of Sand visited The Field of Small Lakes nearly everyday, and they say the warriors there organized their own patrols, and that apprentices did multiple warrior assessments before recieving their name- and at The Field of Small Lakes no less. They had no set camp, everyone besides queens, kits, and elders slept where they want while the most vulnerable three groups were given shelter under a silver maple tree with it's roots exposed. Some cats slept in trees, or in bushes, or in open land, or in The Field of Small Lakes, wherever they wanted besides other Tribe territory.

  • General Rules

    1. No God-modding. This means your characters aren't invincible, they can't control other's characters, they don't know what's happening with everything/they're not all-knowing, they can't read other's thoughts, and they have no powers outside of canon known powers or respectable identical ones.

    2. No MarySues or GarySues. This means that your character can't be perfect basically. Characters have to have flaws and some kind of imperfections.

    3. No killing off someone's character. Pretty self-explanatory as well. The only exception is if you and that person discussed it beforehand and both agreed to go through with it, with no revivals in mind, because there is none. Death is final.

    4. Be respectful and kind. Pretty self-explanatory also. We don't accept rudeness, discrimination of anyone, or harassment of any kind here.

    5. Understanding. People have lives outside of RP and this website so dont get bossy or demanding of someone because they haven't replied to your post yet. Some also get burnout from RP for various reasons, so while they might be happy to talk with you OOC, they might not be able to IC.

  • RP-Specific Rules

    1. No abnormal physical attributes. Concerning eye color, pelt color or pattern, size, or skills, they should all be within the limits of a canon warrior cat.
yellow, amber, hazel, orange, copper, blue, green, heterochromia ( with any of the previously mentioned colors), and dichroic eyes ( two opposing colors in the same eye, with any of the previously mentioned colors).
black, blue/grey, grey, white, brown, fawn, cinnamon, cream, and red/ginger with the following patterns: solid, bi-color, tabby, tortoiseshell, tri-color/calico, and color point ( similar to a Siamese cat's coloring) (( Fully white cats with blue eyes are very likely to be deaf or partially deaf, keep this in mind as well, as well as albino cats being sensitive to sunlight)).
    Small - chest 11-14 inch - length 10-13 inch - weight 4-8 lbs, Medium - chest 14-17 inch - length 13-16 inch - weight 8-12 lbs, Large - chest 17-20 inch - length 13-16 inch - weight 12-16 lbs.
Not every cat can catch their prey every time, no matter how good a hunter they are. Not every apprentice can nail a new move immediately after learning it, especially after all that's happened and how little warriors are able to train them. Warriors and their apprentices usually know next to nothing about herbs or how to treat sick or injured cats beyond cobwebs for bleeding, not every cat is a medicine-cat in disguise. Some cats are stronger than others, but they're not supercats, same as how some are faster than others but aren't the flash. This isn't all, but this should give a general idea.

    2. Founder will play or do any Tribe of Ancestors/StarClan cats, visions, omens, or signs. This is to avoid confusion or the possible overuse of any of the previously mentioned if everyone were allowed to do so. Of course, every character is allowed to seek guidance from ToA/StarClan, but that doesn't mean you'll get an answer every time.
