BIOGRAPHY: Gwendolyn O'Maille was born in a small village in around Clew Bay, Ireland in the 1548. She was a young woman of seventeen when her father was hanged for being a pirate, or at least that was what the English claimed. In truth, her father had simply refused to give up the family estate to the English. That sparked a fire in the young woman, and she charged off to join her cousin, Grace O'Maille, in her fight against the English. She eventually had her own ship and crew in Grace's pirate armada. Unfortunately, a life of violence had to end in violence. Grace made a deal with Elizabeth and ceased fighting the English, but Gwen did not agree with these terms. The redhead continued fighting and plundering, going after both English and Spanish galleons. During one raid, she was shot and knocked into the sea. Her body washed up on the shore off the coast of York where a vampire had been reigning as the duchess. She saw in her someone that could be used to her advantage, an attack dog as loyal as a wolf hound and fierce as a lion. So she gave the young woman a second chance at life, turning her before she bled out on the sand. Gwen served her sire well, helping her maintain powerful positions by eliminating other vampires who dared to interfere in her plans. The Duchess, Henrietta Stuart, toyed with Gwen's emotions to keep her loyal, and the pirate grew to love her sire. That unrequited love kept her in constant heartache, and she released that pain by playing her violin. Music was Gwen's gift, her playing working like a siren's song to affect the emotions of those she played for. Unfortunately, most of her music was melancholy since the pirate was rather broody when she was alone. In public, however, she was known as a charming womanizer with a ready smile and a playful demeanor.

She had just finished an assignment, and she needed to lay low for a while. What better place to do so than a sleepy little town where she worked as a music teacher for the local high school. Who would look for a fearsome pirate vampire there?
