Born to Master Sergeant Lance LeGuin and his army nurse wife Estelle LeGuin in December of 1975. Both of her parents had been overseas during the Vietnam war, her father a young Private in the Marine Corps at the time and her mother serving as a field nurse. They both met in the turmoil of war when her father's best friend and battle buddy lost both his legs to an IED and Lance carried him back to camp to her. Lance LeGuin was a heavily trauma ridden man and her mother hadn't escaped the occasional symptom of PTSD either. She grew up in a strict household, but was a strong rebellious force against any discipline her father tried to instill in her.

Morgan's teen years were unpleasant and riddled with hostility between herself and her family. Her little brother, Austin, who was born when she was almost six had turned into the apple of her parents' eye. He was everything Morgan had not been when she was young and he was a boy, which Lance seemed all too happy with. As they both grew, Morgan pulled further and further away from her parents as they continued to try and force her into a mold she didn't fit. She was a reckless and disobedient teenager, through and through. Anything that she could do that would piss her parents off, she did. Including choosing to go to college halfway across the country.

Morgan threw her entire being into theater once she was at college. She tried to live as fast and as passionate as she could. She went to frat parties, even though she hated them. and even considered joining a sorority for a brief moment. The decision to apply to the study abroad program in Norway that her university was offering was as impulsive as the rest of her decisions usually were. Her parents had been trying to get her to come home for summer break and she had no desire to do anything of that nature so, to Norway she went.

Commonly known for his boyish, borderline flippant grin, Rio is described by most to be a cheeky individual despite being so soft-spoken. He's a man of few words not in a timid way, but more because he's very selective with who he gets along with. He can be unintentionally curt and sometimes downright ill-tempered when in the presence of someone he doesn't like. He's blunt to a fault and stubbornly sticks to his values even when it's in his best interest to shut his mouth. Perhaps a symptom of his slight naivete, Rio has an idealistic outlook of the world that prevents him from keeping his nose out of conflict, constantly seeking out wounded souls and underdogs to align himself with. Don't vent to him unless you don't want someone insistently meddling in your problems every day onward.

He has a touchy past, and gets easily irritated when it's brought up. Many describe him to have done somewhat of a 90 (like a 180, but kinda sorta not all the way) from the way he was back home. Since four years ago, his own version of nihilism has landed him in a desperate effort to maintain some sort of normalcy within himself. This has manifested in the way he's embraced more shallow values prioritizing sex, drugs, and a near-total abandonment of his past interests of the paranormal and true crime.

In short, Rhys is in a constant, fruitless pursuit to move on and be normal, and it shows. He's trying, like, so hard to be a shallow caricature of a jockish college kid. Guys, it's serious.

Biography

The son of two teachers, Rio immigrated at a very young age to Norway from Ivory Coast. Education has always been of the highest value in his household, which lands him in quite the precarious position considering his aversion to taking his studies seriously. He has two younger sisters who weren't even old enough to remember life in their native country, not that Rio can recall much of it himself. He was always a bit of a weird kid, making friends with adults and virtual strangers as opposed to his schoolmates, but regardless it kept him from complete selective isolation.

A few years ago, he met his best friend Eddie, and they underwent a traumatic experience he desperately wants to move on from. Since then, he's withdrawn from the reserved guy he used to be to fall into a more lively crowd. One way of proving the ways he's changed is embarking on this study trip and immersing himself in a more party-oriented culture.

Outwardly, he's got this cool, apathetic devil-may-care attitude with enough of a scholarly, academic flair to him that is surprisingly alluring. Sharp grins and an equally sharp tongue, Matt is pretty critical of most things around him. But that isn't to say he is just bitter, because that would be too easy for someone like him. Instead, he trades this critical sharp eye and dry wit with a spontaneity and a surprisingly light-hearted goofiness that balances into a full picture: he is just someone who doesn't give a shit about societal standards and norms.

A bit of a dick, a bit of an intellectual, and a bit of a goofball, it's difficult to exactly predict what Matt might do next. Childhood

Matt was found in a dumpster. A small baby crying its eyes out right as winter was giving way to spring. He was put into several different foster homes where nobody wanted him. As one could imagine, he saw a large range of caretakers ranging from “godawful still has nightmares to this day” and “eh they were alright.” But the continual shuffling of people around him started a deep sense of apathy in him as he grew to care less and less about making good impressions or personal relationships.

Eventually though, he was adopted by an old money family who were more interested in using him for PR more than they were actually trying to emotionally heal the scarring that the system had left him with. Ultimately, he fell deeper into his apathy as a result when he figured out the real reason behind his adoption as he was emotionally neglected from his new foster parents. They traveled the world with him, and he began picking up new languages and writing poetry as a hobby when he wasn’t flirting with the local population.

He went to a prestigious university and decided to take a year abroad followed by a gap year to continue traveling, struck with a horrible wanderlust, having never found something to really settle him into one place. The entire time, leaving a trail of broken hearts and one night stands in his wake.

Reserved and mostly quiet, Edward is not known as a man of many words, but when he does speak sentences longer than five words, it is to people he trusts and knows well. That is why he has a difficulty when it comes to making new friends. Then again, being caught up in the past, stuck on questions whose answers remain missing, he doesn't care about having friends or making them.

Cracking jokes used to be his thing, and it kind of still is, but only when he feels comfortable. If he is to say a joke, it will usually be a stupid banger, or a very carefully thought out joke that only some will actually understand, and those who do will probably laugh out of pity along with those who don't.

Born in the UK, Edward lived a pretty happy childhood all things considered. Sure, his parents split up when he was very young, but thankfully he doesn't remember much about his biological dad, because, as his mom would say: "He's an asshole". His stepfather, a man his mom met soon after being left by her husband, had taken the role of his 'real' dad, and was there when it mattered the most for the then-small boy. Many happy memories had been made with this man.

Edward's mom always loved him unconditionally, obviously, and she made sure he grew into a cheerful young man who enjoyed life. But of course, nothing lasts forever, really, and when Eddie's mother had to choose to either lose her job or move to Norway and continue working there, the family found themselves on the next flight to Norway; the family being Edward and his mom, the stepfather not wanting to leave his entire life behind. Losing all contact with his friends and the inability to find new ones in the small town ensued, and Edward had to find other forms of fun, such as listening to radio stations of the surrounding towns or going hiking in the foggy cold of the new country. Things could always be worse, so he didn't complain, but then things got worse.

the incident
Edward didn't believe in supernatural, but the events which struck him and Rhys were only describable with that exact word. It was why, even now, 4 years after, he has a tough time believing that it happened, and can recall little of what events went down on that horrible night when he was just a little bit too curious.

entering adulthood
It was growing rather difficult to live in the same town that the incident happened, and to get away from it, Edward applied to a college not quite as far, but far enough for the memories to subside, at least to help him focus enough so he could function as a normal human being.

Of course, he doesn't really have many friends now, but he doesn't need friends. Maybe, things will finally start going well after the ski trip.

Born as the eldest child of a mixed Asian family living all the way up north in Coupeville, WA, Argentina was always her parents' pride and joy, especially her dad's. She always had her parents around the tip of her pinky, the two of them just waiting to do anything for any request she had, but once her two little sisters came into the picture the focus shifted from her; her mother's strictness started showing more and more with each passing day. Going to Seattle for a shopping spree turned into babysitting her sisters almost every other day, and unconditional love turned into yelling at each other at almost every disagreement.

All those statements were more correct for her mother than they were for her father, who always had a soft side for his first daughter, but then again, nothing could replace a mother's love, and that was something she missed greatly during her formative years. Of course, as she slowly grew into a teenager, the shift between her and her mother grew, and at one point she just couldn't have taken it for a second longer.

At the first opportunity to see the world, she ran out the door, and didn't look back.

Now, she was only 16 at the time, not even having finished high school, but along with her two friends, Argentina travelled the States, going nowhere, seeing everything. She saw things quite rare; things one couldn't see again even if they tried. She discovered herself and made friendships with people from all walks of life. She roasted marshmallows inside a trailer; she got lost in Yellowstone; she fought a racoon for pizza from the trash; and eventually, she witnessed her best friend get shot.

That was what cut her journey short, and she returned home with pain of having lost contact with the one person she genuinely loved in her life. Back to her boring life, repeating a year of high school, shamed for her actions by others, but never forgetting anything that happened on the trip.

She longed for more, and she might not have known it at that time, but the journey of her life was just beginning.

Applying for a college as far as possible, she only managed to get a spot for a college that was in yet another small town in America, so not quite as far as she hoped she would get, but then again, anything was better than the mundane life she outgrew with the one decision she made at 16. To explain him simply and to sum up Evan in a nutshell it would be... dude who peeked in high school. Because he did. Life has maybe not been the easiest on Evan. He was born to young parents that barely knew how to take care of themselves, let alone a baby. He was around two when his father drifted out of his life -- leaving him with a mother that left a lot to be desired. Growing up, Evan felt pretty much on his own with no other siblings. He made a few friends at school and was never disliked, and school soon became like an outlet for him. A little bit of a break from being home with his mother.

When he hit high school, things changed. Or, things caught up to him. Evan had easy access to weed, his peers wanted weed. He never tried much in high school but always passed with decent grades and still kept up that whole "liked" thing. Heck, Evan would even go as far as to say he was kind of popular in school. Maybe for the wrong reasons, but still, everyone at least knew his name.

Following graduation, all of his friends started packing up and leaving for college. Evan tried applying to a few places but rejections kept coming in until he just gave up. He stayed stuck in the same place that he had grown up in. He was kicked out of the apartment he shared with his mother and hopped from couch to couch for a while until he was able to get his own apartment with money that he got from, of course, selling weed. Evan tried a few different jobs, but he was fired or quit from every single one.

When he was twenty, he met Dana. She provided him some needed relief from life and the two started hanging out and partying. Evan, in his stupidity of being drunk or high, even got her name tattooed on his lower back. He thought maybe she would be the woman he would spend the rest of his life with, until a fight led to them breaking up. About a month later, she called him and told him that she was pregnant. Although they tried to rekindle the relationship, it fell short. Dana wanted to get her life together for their child and Evan... well, Evan didn't understand why he had to change anything. His mother hadn't, so why should he?

So... Evan kind of started getting clean for his unborn child, albeit very begrudgingly. And then a couple months into that, Dana and Evan kind of got into a really big fight. It ended with Dana throwing Evan's stuff out of the window of their apartment and kicking him out. For the next few days, as he tried to get Dana to forgive him, Evan did a lot of sleeping under bridges and on benches in the park. Wherever pretty much until finally, Dana was willing to speak to him... just to tell him that that child they were supposed to be expecting?

Yeah, she'd had a miscarriage.

And of course, Dana said she never wanted to see Evan again. He tried to call her back after she hung up on him, but she'd blocked his number.

So, with nothing holding him back there, Evan packed up all of his stuff and headed for the big city. Anywhere but the little town that had done nothing but fuck him over for his entire life, and he ended up in Chicago with about twenty bucks left in his pocket. Although, with nothing holding him to an idea of sobriety anymore, Evan kind of fell back on drugs and... everything. Heavily.

After being forced to enter rehab, he came out on the other side a changed man. He decided to throw away what he had been and become a new man. So, he started working at McDonald's, and shut up. It's a fine job. And with the money he made from there, and a handful of scholarships, he was actually able to go to college. And now he's in Norway for... something.

On a cold day in late February, little Freya was welcomed to the world. And... yeah, life was easy enough, she guesses. Her parents were loving enough, albeit a bit ahh... quirky? Eccentric? They could be kind of hard to live with, and their eccentricity, well... it didn't bode well for her growing up.

You know, she was the weird girl with the hippie parents.

So growing up, yeah, she didn't have a lot of friends, but she also wasn't super put off by it. Her parents and her also moved around quite a bit, so holding onto friends was made that much harder -- not only was she consistently the new kid, but she was consistently the new kid with the really weird parents.

But it was whatever.

Instead of finding herself in others, Freya just... kind of found herself in photos. Her mother, also a photographer, helped to nurse this interest and helped Freya out with learning how to take good pictures.
