(Before the attack happened )

Warren would look at the newly hatched dragon and say to himself, “This little one is pretty.” When Aaliyah offered to pet the little one, he would do it shyly. “Hey, welcome to the world.” Then she said that she could have it call him Papa. Warren would go red ear to ear .”Th…that won't be necessary, umm, but yeah, it's cute. I think I hear Lena calling me.”He would walk off in embarrassment.

“Happy day new members have joined us.”Lena was more happy to get the new ingredients from the shell than anything. Now she had new things she could make but testing them would be problematic with everyone around. Just then she saw her assistant walk over red in the face.” You called “.She in fact did not call for him but it was convenient for her.” Timely arrival Assistant I need to go do some tests with all my new stuff. So I will need your help like always. I don't want to be in danger anyone here so it would be better to move away.” With that, she started to pack her things. “Everyone I will be departing for a while to run some tests so if I come back with some new toys, don’t be surprised. Bye-bye”.She then took off.

Warren would walk back over to Aaliyah.”It seems that my wild friend wants to go do something I will go to make sure she doesn't start an apocalypse of some kind, have the forest full of those mushrooms, or burn it down. Stay safe my Lady.”Warren said before following Lena. The same goes for the rest of you stay alive until we get back.”

Denver looked at Korro, his glare harsh. "I'm a goat, silly. What else would I be?~" he asked as he smiled. Before he continued walking, the deity controlling him wasn't quite done using his body. She would hold onto Denver until the next day. Shinobi would also watch Denver closely, the magic was powerful...if Denver's mana was as weak as he implied, then that spell would have taken him out. yet he was still walking just fine...

"You're not Denver." Korro growled. He moved to bar the goat's path. "I don't know what you are...but there are very few things that can steal a body...none of them are good."

He looked worriedly at Tonnie and Barracuda, searching for any knowledge or help that could shed light on what was happening.

“The sclera…”

“The ‘whites’ of the eyes.”

“Ah.” Adelynn looked to the dragon on her shoulder, which was a bit of a challenge in itself. Harder still was getting a look at the eyes as it kept wanting to look around. She eventually managed to confirm that the sclera were white. “Hm… I think I’ll call you…Sunbeam.”

MoonShadow stopped to watch the unfolding drama between the wolf and his goat. She didn’t have any input on the matter, so she just kept up her usual snacking. She didn’t know anything about possessions, and from what she’d seen of the group so far, they probably would not agree to just stabbing the goat so they could move on.

(Gummy and I agreed to do this) Tonnie subtly pulled out her spellbook and flipped to the Stasis Freeze Spell page, chanting the words before flicking her staff as its metal wolf-head top would illuminate. Denver would pause completely, as if hypnotized to freeze as the magic put him suspended animation. She then looked to Korro, "The spell will lift in 10 minutes. Is it okay if you can freeze in him in ice to hold him longer?"

Barracuda looked at the still Denver, having kept a healthy distance from the possessed Goatfolk as they walked. "Denver is a novice-level mage. Whatever entity that is using him as a vessel should leave soon to acquire a more potent host. Should the problem escalate, we may have to resort to exorcism." Chipped in Barracuda. "However, for the time being he should be fine." Explained the Gunslinger calmly. He then snapped his gaze to Korro and Tonnie. "Should either of you feel anything try to take hold of you: Resist. When Helena returns, I will ask her if she can brew a concoction to aid with possessions, but many apparitions require that you let them get a foot in the door before they can take hold. Do not let them."

Aaliyah Sh'ahn

Letting Warren pet her new child, she'd let out a giggle at his shyness as he'd scurry away to Lena, oblivious to any meaning behind her own words, before overhearing Barracuda's explanation. Aaliyah would pitch in to the conversation with a smile, cuddling her new pet warmly.

"That makes this little one a boy~ The cutest lil' baby boy~"

Though her cheery mood would drop as Warren would return with a sudden goodbye, a somber expression taking over the princess' face as she'd sulk slightly at the shock of a farewell.

"A-ah... Stay safe, sir Warren. You still need to keep that promise to me! Don't make me worry and come back quick~" she'd chuckle half-heartedly, before letting out a sigh as he'd pass by.

Busying herself, she'd distract herself by thinking up a name for her son, looking at his wings and colours before inspiration would find its way to her mind, and a name would fall out of her mouth.

"Garuda." It was simple and sharp, like his tail, Garuda responding by snuggling into her a little more closely, approving of his new name as it would yawn.

Overhearing their groups newest dilemma, the merfolk would shuffle into position next to Adelynn and Barracuda, deciding to leave Denver, Tonnie, and Korro alone for the time being out of fear of being possessed, instead quietly staying next to her fellow new mother and their resident intellectual that seemed to know everything, at least that's how it seemed to Aaliyah.

Korro felt a pang of guilt as Tonnie cast her spell. He felt even less sure about what she had asked him to do.
"I...don't want to hurt him." He answered softly.

Barracuda gave the explanation and Korro hung onto every word as if those alone might save his friend.
"A more powerful host?" He repeated, and suddenly the gears of his mind were spinning.
He looked up at them, his decision set.

"Let it have me." He held up a hand before they could protest. "The torc around my neck...it is a binding spell to seal my powers, but it also prevents me from harming anyone in our party. You will all be safe if that thing is transferred to me."

Korro did not wait for their approval, he approached Denver, ears back. He looked straight into the goat's eyes, at the being who had control.
"Hear me thief. I am strong, and I command the winter winds. Whatever your aim might be I will serve you better. Take me instead," he commanded.

Tonnie looked at Korro, “Oh, no mate, it would not hurt him.” Hastily assured she to Korro, her voice desperate to prove that she cared for his safety.

Akila then snickered upon hearing Korro’s proposition. “Puh-lease! I, am clearly the most capable of us.” Whispered she, but accidentally loud enough for Korro, Kanon, Elixen, and the entity possessing Denver,to hear.

Kanon turned to look at Akila. "If you get possessed, we'll cut our loses and just put you down. You are an ally at the moment, and that's about the only reason we put up with you. And likely the only reason you put up with us."

Derver's eyes opened as he was in the void, his arms and legs restrained with glass chains. He groaned as he felt a hand cup his chin. "Wake up my child, its time for you to return to your body," she said as Denver looked at his mother. "Y-you...took control of me?" he asked as she chuckled "I did say that I would make you powerful did I not?" she said as Denver nodded "In time you and I shall be one. Our souls and our mana will combine. We'll be unstoppable, the world will know your name and bow before it." she said as Denver shuddered a bit "B-but I don't want to be feared...I want to save the world not conquer it..." he said as she sighed

"Oh, you sweet, simple-minded child...You will save the world...WE will save the world! What's the best way to make the world safe? Control it~" she said as Denver crossed his legs, deep in thought. "No more pain, no more suffering, no more children losing their parents! Denver, don't you see? You can make it all happen! You and I can make this place a true heaven. You just have to trust me," she said as Dever stood up, looking up at her, "I do trust you..." He said as she smiled, "Good, but...not everyone is going to, Denver. You have to throw them off our scent. You don't want those fools to ruin our perfect world, do we?~" she asked as Denver shook his head.

"Such a good boy," he said as the chains released from his body. "Now hurry back, you don't want to keep your..."friends" waiting, do you?" she said as Denver nodded and ran back. The void slowly faded as he moved into his body. Still frozen but now with the proper spirit in control.

Pollen sprayed through the air, resulting in Tonnie sneezing and abruptly accidentally lifting the stasis freeze spell off of Denver.

Barracuda stood firmly, gripping his boomerangs. Believing Denver to be still possessed as he saw no evidence to prove the contrary, he spoke with no hesitation,

“WarWolf, ice him.”

PARIS ALISTAIR FONTENETTE

The laughter was ugly. Sharp, too loud, laced with the kind of arrogance only fanatics carried. The group of Exontians circled the tree like vultures drunk on their own righteousness, fists swinging without rhythm, just violence. One struck him across the face, another in the gut. Paris didn’t flinch. Not even once. His arms were tied behind him, the thick rope digging into his skin and pressing against his neck and chest. A worn-out stool supported him just barely, positioned beneath his feet like some kind of joke- one nudge, and it’d all end. The worst part? He was bored.

Blood ran down the corner of his lip in a neat little trickle. Pretty, if you looked at it in the right light. His golden, slit-pupiled eyes were half-lidded, unreadable as they scanned the canopy above. Not in prayer. Just killing time.

“You think he can’t feel it?” One of them barked, knuckles red from impact. Some of the pack that surrounded him were elves. He was an elf too, but they didn't see that. All he was to them was some humanoid monster. He should be bitter. Why? He couldn't transform into a dragon. No, he barely had any powers gifted from his father himself. So what was wrong with his existence now? Garbage. This was garbage. “That ain’t right. He’s smiling."

Paris was, faintly. His head lolled forward slightly at the last punch, blue strands of his hair glowing dimly even in the shade of the trees. His voice, when it came, was dry- distant, yet biting. “This is your god’s mercy? Hitting someone tied up? You’re not very fun.”

The Exontians didn’t like that. One of them kicked the stool, just to scare him, but stopped short of actually toppling it. They wanted to gloat. They wanted a show. Paris simply rolled his neck against the rope with a low sigh. He could've just burnt the ropes that nearly strangled him to a chokehold, but he didn't. He wasn’t worried. Let them bark. Let them punch. He hadn’t let them catch him by mistake; he had walked into their circle with open arms and a grin that didn’t quite reach his eyes. A test. A little challenge. Something to make the day interesting.

And from the sound of rustling just past the clearing, maybe that challenge was about to get a little more crowded.

While their own group clashed over Denver, Blestare’s ears perked up when he heard more fighting in the near distance: Only this fighting sounded physical. The anthropomorphic white wolf peered over to see what looked like a group of bullies punching down on a Sea Elf. Blestare gasped, his tail lowering as he gripped his segmented sword, a wave of determination soon washing over him as he made it a goal to help the unfortunate stranger who he presumed innocent.

Quickclaw looked over at the distant but close commotion involving what seemed to be Exontians, the Lizardfolk woman dressed in black leather armor then turning to the others with a face of concern, “Uhhh, guys?” Spoke she, attempting to alert them all before the Exontians caught wind of their presence. Barracuda snapped his head to Quickclaw before diverting his attention to Exontians and their needlessly cruel antics. He swiftly turned to Denver, who he presumed was still possessed. He spoke through gritted teeth behind his skull-like mask, “Fortune is a fickle thing, wretch.” Threatened he before darting to cover behind a mossy boulder with the speed of a Silverfish to avoid being detected by the Exontians. Soon, many of the other mercenaries followed suite, Tonnie, Blestare, Elixen, Steel-Mage, Akila, and Quickclaw using a tree as refuge or disappearing into the thick foliage.

Elixen stared at Kanon whilst in cover, the Demi-Titan Quadrapedal Cheetah looked at the Red Panda Beastfolk, “Red Knight, are we to attempt diplomacy or fell the oppressors? There is a high chance that they are Exontian Extremists, but I do not believe it is wise to make assumptions.” Remarked she silently.

Blestare peaked from cover to send a reassuring smile at Paris, attempting to comfort him from afar before retreating back into the bush as he waited for their team to strike as one. Meanwhile, Akila shot a glare at Korro whilst they hid. Akila then jeered as usual, the mummy Snakefolk bent on keeping the Gray Demon Wolfman in his place during a greater situation, “So, your trinket prevents you from retaliating?” Whispered she with a devilish smile, a tinge of laughter sprinkled into her tone. “It would sure be a shame if I…” Akila lightly slapped Korro in his large, black nose. “Know your place, Hellspawn.” Spat she silently, spite spilling from her words.

Denver fell to the ground as the spell wore off, he groaned and cupped his head having no memory of the previous battle. "Ow my head..." he groaned as he rubbed his temples. that was when he looked at his hands and gasped, they were now porcelin...clean white porcelin with streaks of warm gold. He shuddered a bit staring at them "W-what....what happened?" he asked to no one in particular before he lifted up his shawl and looked at the mark over his heart. It had grown a bit... Denver propped himself up with has staff and whimpered turning to Korro.

Shinobi listened to the distance, still fuming over the previous encounter. "Forget it. Whatever is going on over there...We have places to be, we cant go running to every broken branch that we hear." he said crossing his arms. He didnt truly mean what he was saying but his anger was apperent in his voice.

Korro anthro form.jpg
Korro heard the command, he watched Denver, a pained look in his eyes. Korro then did something he hadn't done in a very long while: he hesitated.
He could not bring himself to attack the goat, even though he knew what had control of him was as far from Denver as it could be.

Tonnie's spell released and he fell to the ground. Suddenly, he was moving and speaking like himself again. Korro was kneeling at his side in an instant, putting strong hands on his shoulders to steady him.
"You were...gone. Your body was here, but something else had control." Korro looked him over, his brow creased in worry. "But...you're back now."

Some commotion sounded a distance away, and Korro ignored it at first. When the others began to take refuge in the foliage, the wolf began to look round.
The strike from wretched Akila caught him off guard.
"..Hellspawn." Korro fixed her with a hate-filled golden stare. Why had he told them that? He had exposed his biggest vulnerability to save Denver, though, as much as he felt he should regret it...he did not.
At any other point, Korro would have retaliated, even knowing the repercussions, but looking after Denver overcame his wrathful sentiments toward the wretched mummy.

He rose when Denver did, glancing down at his glossy, porcelain hands.
"We'll deal with it." He reassured the goat, then he sighed, and pulled Denver into a gentle hug. "I...I thought we lost you."

Frustration flooded into Korro's heart. He did not know what was happening to Denver, and now he had handed the most vile member of their team a ticket to his endless maltreatment. He felt powerless, and it burned within him.

When he withdrew, looking more than a little embarrassed, he focused on the strange noises coming from the directing the group had all headed in. Korro gave a fond glance back at Denver, then moved to follow.

He took up a position near Barracuda, watching the goings on a distance away.
"We are hiding while someone is being tortured? I didn't take you all for this sort of cruelty," the wolf growled. Perhaps he couldn't strike Akila without consequences...but the Exontians?..they were fair prey.

Korro was well aware of what he had said in the cave, but he was angry. He wanted to hit something. Slowly, a long, low growl escaped his throat.
When he cleared the low bushes he was no longer a beastkin, but his full, direwolf form.

1a980911e386feb5a1d0e57e0a450a9e.jpg
"YOU WANT A MONSTER DO YOU?" He roared. Ice spikes began to form in his hackles and the colour of his eyes sank into the deepest crimson. "Then try this one."
Korro attacked, sending a blast of frozen wind at the strange elf's captors, careful not to hit him in the process.
He grabbed the nearest Exontian by the arm and hurled him into a tree, content to hear the bone snap between his teeth as he did.
He turned to the others, challenge blazing in his eyes. He dared them to come.

Barracuda snapped his head to Korro when he labeled the ones that took cover ‘cruel.’ “We cannot charge in blindly, WarWolf. We must coordinate a plan or else we could fail, and all perish.” Retorted he.

“One time, a friend of mines stumbled upon a bunch of people beating the crap out of a man…” Begun Quickclaw. “…and he attacked who he thought were the instigators and helped the victim get away, only to later find out that the guy he free’d was a canni-“ Quickclaw watched as Korro lunged into battle without a second to spare, the Lizardfolk gripping her throwing knives in-between her scaly fingers and scaling up a tree.

Barracuda sighed, hurrying out of cover to sling two deadly sharp metal boomerangs from his hands. One slit the throat of an Exontian Human with a turbulent Shing! as red blood fatally gushed from his neck. The other took off the arm of an Elven Exontion getting ready to punch Paris. Soon, the two bloody boomerangs returned to Barracuda’s hands as he stormed towards the Extremists, ready to liberate them of their lives.

Kanon sighed and glanced at Sunbeam, perched on Adelynn’s shoulders. “You see what I have to deal with?” She rose from cover and drew her sword. She mostly intended to defend her allies. She would have prefer diplomacy, if possible, but that certainly wasn’t possible now.

Adelynn, not being a fighter, even with her new power, stayed back. She rested a hand on Sunbeam to make sure she wouldn’t run off, though the dragon didn’t seem inclined to fight.

MoonShadow also stayed back, more concerned with guarding her current collection of food than fighting on someone else’s behalf.

PARIS ALISTAIR FONTENETTE

Paris wasn't sure what he was seeing anymore. One moment he was being mocked on death’s doorstep, then, all hell broke loose. Something in the corner of his eye told him that someone had been smiling at him. Not really a someone, but a creature he didn't want to associate him with. If it meant to be saved, then those who watched clearly didn't understand his own intentions of being here.

The more he withstood the taunts of the Exontians, the more they would get angry and realize he wasn't going to give up.

However, when icicles had started to weave past the knots that dug into his skin, and attack Paris' future executors, he didn't need anything else to tell him that he was being saved. Saved! From what? There was a small enemy group to the Exontians that had appeared, and they clearly figured he was on their side. He certainly didn't have any reason not to, but for one thing, he was a solo-traveler. And this solo-traveler was slowly counting every shard, every blade, and every weapon that had ended up missing him entirely. What was everyone's plan, when it seemed so blurry?

Paris let out a sigh, smothering down his ungratefulness, and twisted his finger over the tough string that loped over his body. Heat had never felt so close when he let the cords go alight, the first sparks of something colorful gravitating around him. But, his body didn't really forget the impact every punch and sludge those humans, elves, dwarves- whatever else, had given him. Setting himself free from confinement, he nearly tripped from the stool, but held himself steady. At least, long enough for him to soon be kneeling next to the tree he would've been hanged by.

A finger, mean while, was stopping the flow of his blood from dripping down, and Paris scowled when he watched two Extontians get slit in the neck. "So much for trying to go easy on them," He mumbled. The gore that played out before him costed him some scarlet drops to also drop onto him, and he wiped everything off in disgust. Since everyone was busy, he had the choice to walk away. Walk away...but if he did, would he be hunted down by those who were fighting? Someone had left for the higher ground, meaning he'd be watched constantly until this was over, and then he'd get interrogated.

The fang that curved over a lip retracted into a small smile as he pulled a human Exontian that was frozen in place besides him. "This seems really scary to you too, huh?" The grip Paris had on the other was in touch with the human's clothes, him being able to put up his own flames on them. The latter diligently gasped at the sight, backing away and pattering down on the small fire that was traveling up and down their body. Paris rested his head against the bark. "I have no desire to fight along with these mangy people, so..." He ended off with a small whistling-hum.

Shinobi wasted no time, joining the carenage. Still enraged from the Irklings he pinned down an elf and stabbed him repeatedly. he was grabbed from behind and drew his sword stabbing it through a humans neck before lading on his feet and studying Paris, as if evaluating his value. "This guy is what we rerouted the mission for?" he asked wiping away the blood "Feh, 情けない、彼の傲慢さはひどい。 本当にこういう人たちにはうんざりだ。" he complained as he left.

((Pathetic, He reeks of snobbery. This lot is going to be the death of me.))

Denver felt his face grow warm as Korro embraced him. what had transpired while he was being controlled? Denver shuddered and decided to put it out of his mind. Soon after the attack started it was over. Denver listened to Shinobi complain before rolling his eyes "Be kind Shin!" he said as the possum grumbled and walked away. The goat offered Paris his hand "Hello! Im Denver! Im glad we could intervein before something bad happened" he said with a smile.

PARIS ALISTAIR FONTENETTE

Paris didn't ignore the look he was given by someone, them leaving in a sudden slouching stalk that made him snort himself. "I know that wasn't nice but, I'll pretend it was a good comment." He said more to himself, the battle around receding slowly the more the Exontians started to deplete in numbers. Not so long after, a goat-like figure approached in high spirits. This wasn't some charity stalls, so why was everyone acting like he needed to thank them? A hand was lent towards him, but he barely paid it any attention, as he forced himself back to his feet again. "The bad thing did happen, I'm afraid." The dark-haired man drawled out, looking over the diverse cast of people that still hung around. "That thing was you all. Forgive me if I had to like this, but I don't."

He put his palm to the back of his neck, trying to decipher how bad the burn marks that still lingered were. Paris' skin didn't fully look raw, but there were red streaks over some part of his body. If only he bothered enough to carry some healing aliment on him...he looked back to the goat that called themself Denver. "If you're traveling in such a big group, how come all of you seem so gullible. I could be a man-eating elf and you'd all jump to the rescue like this is some hero novel..." His voice was lowered, a small grumble that only he should be able to hear, but also a retort.

"None the less, you, Denver, seem rejoiced to have come to my aid. I give my utter worst thanks in that, but I think I should also be heading off." Paris cracked his spine once, looking a few ways that way, and the other way that as he spoke. He had sarcastically bowed to the goat, tipping a finger to the side like he could actually leave. These fishmen and women would be able to catch onto his tail the second he wanted to walk away, so he didn't move much.

Blestare finished shoving an Exontian to the ground with his powerful strength. The Exontian then crawled backwards away from the winged-wolf fearfully. Blestare tightly gripped his sword while blue lightning crackled from both of his hands as means of intimidation whilst he glowered at the man with furrowed ears, adopting the threatening visage of a guard dog. The Exontian’s breath was frantic as he then sloppily pushed himself off the ground and frantically fled into the woods. “I YIELD!” Screamed he, multiple of his Exontian buddies joining him as they ran for the hills.

Meanwhile, an Exontian Dwarf ran up to MoonShadow with a Warhammer, raising it high as he shouted with a fury, “DIE, FREAK!”
The Dwarf’s fit however was interrupted as a beam of fire burst his head to small crimson charred bits that smelt of burnt flesh as Steel-Mage then rapidly delivered the same fate to four more Exontians that were fighting before setting his sights at the ones in the distance who were running for their lives, smart enough to know they stood little chance. The Warforged in wizard’s apparel pointed his built-in wand-hand at them without hesitation as he charged up his fire spell, the symbols inscribed on his metal exterior glowing as his magic-core pulsated with power.

The sight of this made Blestare’s fur stand on end as he white wolf rushed in front of Steel-Mage with his paws raised. “Whoa, whoa, hey!” Hastily spoke he. “We already defeated them.” Added he with a nervous smile. Steel-Mage metal-lenses squinted as he lowered his wooden wand-hand, the magic automaton reluctantly complying. “Hmm…” Muttered the machine with faint suspicion.

With the opponents he was fighting face-to-face with his boomerangs slain, Barracuda chucked them towards two more distant opponents that Tonnie had been spell-lessly dueling with her staff. Without warning, a Human Ferromancer Exontian Mage held her hands high as radiant silver waves surged from her hands, lifting Steel-Mage two feet off the ground and hurling him into Blestare as they both slammed into a large tree, meat and metal colliding.

The Ferromancer Exontian then targeted Barracuda, pulling his boomerangs out of the air on their way back to him before death from above pierced her brain in the form of a throwing knife courtesy of Quickclaw. Crimson blood rushed down The Ferromancer’s head like a waterfall as she toppled to the ground. Barracuda, annoyed, went to retrieve his boomerangs as the battle around him dwindled down.

Akila finished slowly and painfully severing three of an Exontian man’s limbs before he raised his hand with a pleading look, “P-Please, I yield!” Squeaked he, the words whimpering and quiet despite his best efforts. Akila cackled sinisterly as she slithered closer towards the man and twirled her dual-khopeshes, a trail of blood left behind on the grass by the cruel mummy serpent. Perhaps somebody could interfere, given if they saw it as excessive.

Meanwhile, a 5’11 foot tall Human Exontian Extremist with a scarred face treaded towards Kanon with a longsword equipped in one hand, and green tunic over his back, and a creepy smile equipped across his mouth. “Your hide will make for a fine rug, Panda.” Mocked he. His demeanor then flipped like a lever as he lunged at the Samurai with a feral scream, swinging his steel at her neck.

An Exontian brute of a Dwarf with a chain spotted Aayliah’s fin, before discovering both her and Garuda, his bearded face contorting into a greedy smile. “By my beard, is that a Stormcleaver? I know a Nobleman who’s been begging for one’ of ‘ese, loves his warpets I suppose.” The Exontian whipped his chain at Aayliah, attempting to have it wrap around her neck. “I’ll be rich!” Excitedly exclaimed the Dwarf.

One surviving Elven Exontian charged at Shinobi, “GYNEROS GUIDES!” Bellowed he with two fancy hook swords, swinging them at the Possum’s legs.

A Human Exontian with a flail twirled the spiky metal orb connected to the handle by rope about before leaping at Paris as he walked off, “YOU DO NOT GET THE PRIVILEGE OF TELLING THIS STORY, ROTTEN HALF-BREED!”

It seemed that some final Exontians weren’t done with this fight, as two fired arrows from crossbows at Korro while a third charged at the Demon Wolf with a brazen that would make badgers blush. The 6’8-foot tall hulking Human clutched two war axes as sweat dripped down his body, swinging at Korro’s snout and legs, determined to win the approval of the gods his ancestors fought and died for.

Korro heard the attackers as they rushed out from his blind spot. One arrow, he caught in his teeth, snapping it like a twig. The other lodged itself deep in his hackles, but he barely seemed to notice. Korro turned on the man with the axe and leapt back, allowing him to cut only air. One axe hit the earth and Korro put a massive paw on the blade, snapping the hilt into splinters. He grabbed the man's shoulder before he could swing again, and tossed him with a sharp twist of his neck.

The remnants of the cultists scattered under blade and fang. Korro watched them run, feeling a dark satisfaction in it.
His temper sated, he listened to the would-be captive and turned an ear back.
"Strange way to show gratitude. Maybe we should have watched them gut you." The giant wolf growled.
He took a step forward after the stranger had proposed he might be a threat.
"If you were, I would kill you." Korro said simply, and turned to change back into his beastkin form. He noticed the arrow then, and pulled it from his shoulder, tossing the blood-soaked point into the grass.

It looked like they would part ways there, and from all the stranger had said, Korro wasn't unhappy about it. The odd man was rude, and clearly had no interest in being anything else. They already had one of those in that damned snake woman.

"The cultist village is that way, in case you want to be strung up again." He thumbed in the direction, and prepared to leave, going to Denver once more before they did.
"Are you sure you're all right now?" He spoke softly so as not to be overheard.

Kanon didn’t even blink at the comment thrown her way. His attack was blatant and easy to read. For a moment it looked like she wouldn’t react, but at the last second, her blade met his. She redirected his attack, stepping around as she moved him past herself. Using her blade to maintain control, her foot swiped a leg out from under him and she brought him to the ground. Before he could recover, her blade met his spine, ending his fight for good.

When I take you with me: You will get to join your ancestors in the dens of this shithole forest.” Snarled the brunette short-haired Exontian, referencing the Exontian belief of Beastkin reincarnating as mindless beast endlessly post mortem.

Kanon looked as the next opponent approached, holding her sword at the ready. “Your beliefs do not affect me, but your actions do. If you seek to do me harm, then I must defend myself.” This one wasn’t as wild as the last. Kanon made sure to watch her closely.
