Futuristic Adventures of the Flying Access

Jagson

One Thousand Club
Ilexxion planet 33.02 commonly known as New Happen

In the local pub attached to the space port two men were conducting business. The former Alliance Military Captain Drake McGregor took a sip of his ale as he focused less on the bear with a dog face Almecian speaking to him and more on the exit.

"We need the usual delivered to Ugeria in a week." The Almecian said threw it's communicator. The captain continued to nurse his drink as he thought about it.

"The usual fee twenty now and forty upon delivery." Drake said. The Almecian gave what it's people considered a smile which to a human looked like a dog bearing it's teeth before handing Drake a suite case full of Galactic credits.

"Pleasure doing...." His voice was cut off as alarms started to blare throughout the space port and city.

"UG raid in progress. We will not protect any criminal actions" The speaker said. Drake let out a curse as he looked at his client . "Usual back up." He said. The Almecian nodded before running away with the brief case in hand.

Drake finished his drink before slowly walking out of the pub. He taped his wrist communicator. "Dadai, Vahn get the Access prepped we're launching as soon as I get there." He walked slowly to appear like he wasn't going anywhere in a hurry.

At eight foot tall and made primarily of metal, CSU#15 was not someone who had an easy time hiding in these cities of stone, metal, and ever-present surveillance. The urban world was not alien to him; his place of creation was a labyrinthine maze just like this one but it had not necessarily been meant for habitation and among the enormous, cyclopean monuments of warped metal and constantly expanding bulkheads, he was at home. This wasn't far removed from the Black City if not for the fact it was somehow more crowded and the security was far more omnipresent.

Draped in a dust-coloured cloak, hiding all but his iron hands and his death-mask face, he emerged from the pub with a flutter of the hooded garment, nearly running over one of the humans in his way. He coursed as his knees accidentally bumped into the side of the dimunitive person, threatening to bowl him over with the speed at which he moved. He hesitated for a moment, looking down on the man, a skeletal visage of steel and synthetic biomatter staring with a seemingly eyeless face.

It was a split moment of hesitation and his digital mind raced in the short blink of time it took; after all, he was not exactly someone who was on the good side of the law. And he knew the feds were well aware.

It was just another day for Glass. Dragging himself through a shady bazaar to pay a visit to "The Doctor" to once again spend his meager earnings to repair his battered cybernetics. He looked at his synthetic right arm, pierced clear through with some kind of alien projectile(about the size of a railroad spike) still lodged in place. For a moment Glass thought about what would have happened had he not been so lucky as to block that spike.

Fight, get hurt, repair repeat. Each time this process runs its course, his body collects a little more alloy. Years ago Glass assumed his name to escape his criminal past and avoid those who wish him ill. Looking at his reflection he doubts anyone from those days would even recognize him. Standing about 6' 1". A full face Exo helmet with a dark, mirror tinted visor covered his head while his body was shrouded under a tattered dark grey cloak. The glimmer of synthetic limbs show throught the openings in his cloak from time to time.

As Glass was deep in thought, his inner monologue was disturbed by the sudden onset of the announcement of a UG raid over the city PA system. "Damn, what poor timing" Glass said to himself as he picked up his pace to a run. "The Doctor" would no doubt be one of their targets and he wasn't about to let the UG throw them in a prison to rot.

Sounds of generalised chaos filled the air. There were people everywhere all fleeing the sounds of gunshots. Due to his guant frame, Glass is able to continue running through the crowd, keeping a low frame moving both quickly and relatively undetected. The sounds of the raid get louder as he approaches "The Doctors" clinic, he just hopes he isn't too late.

Drake : Dadai, Vahn get the Access prepped we're launching as soon as I get there." The voice communicator echoed in the engineering bay as Vahn would be wiping his hands with a hand towel before muttering outloud to himself.

Vahn: Aye Captain.

Vahn would walk to the engineering computers making sure that life support is up and running, double check the power core levels and triple check emergency systems. Content with all his checks would he then activate onboard speakers on the ship: "The Flying Access" that he hastily installed when the Captain Drake went to New Happen as Vahn was bored and had a bunch of unused speakers in his mechanic toolbox.

Vahn: Dadai? Dadai? You here? Can you start radioing the control tower? We good go to if you want to just make a speedy escape.... Also to all other crew members, get ready for once the rest of the crew is here we are good for lift off.....Also yes, these are speakers not authorized by the Captain....were is the off button.

Vahn would eventually find the off switch to his unauthorized modification of the Flying Access and hoping that maybe the Captain would be okay with it as he wondered if maybe his unconventional speakers might have rudely woken any other crew members by accident and wondering if this might have gotten himself in a new heap of unintended trouble.

Doctor Cilphi Xe'lok peered from the hiding spot at the side of her clinic, watching annoyed through a hole in the wall as uniformed men tore the place apart. She had run there as soon as she heard the alarms, just barely managing to finish treating the young patient she had gone off to visit, in hopes that she could at least grab something before leaving for another planet once again. The raid had descended on her location before she could get in, and now she was stuck in the little alley on the side of her once intact home, surrounded by violent officers. Damn them, she thought. She was just lucky she always carried her gun and basic med kit on her.

Never a woman to let her emotion get the best of her in times of action, the doctor allowed herself a moment to lament her recurring homelessness, and then turned her mind to more important matters: how the hell was she going to get off of this planet? How the hell was she going to get out of this alley?

At the further end, she watched a group of three or four uniformed men plucked people off the street to beat on. At the close end, a cop who may have been helping to oversee this section of the raid, stood watch over the group of idiots that likely didn't even know what they were looking for in her clinic. He was more decorated than the others. Better armed too. The other way it is then.

Without a second thought or much time to plan, the doctor took off down the alley, bursting through the baton-happy officials before they knew what was going on. The ones that she hadn't knocked over laid chase, and Cilphi ran towards the landing bay as fast as she could, her long legs giving her a bit of an edge. Taking them by surprise had given her the advantage of distance, but rounding a corner too quickly had her knocking into what felt like a wall, but was definitely a man. He barely flinched at the impact, and she recognized him immediately.

"Glass!" Ignoring the pain that shot through her from a harsh landing, the doctor stood and started off again. "We have to go!" She bolted towards the ships, hoping that'd he'd catch on quick enough to follow.

Glass watched The Doctor get to her feet and continue fleeing from her pursuers. She moved rather quickly for a medical professional. He looked to the two chasing her. Riot gear, batons, both appear to be grunts. They've already seen us and it would be a problem if they called for backup. Glass needed to put them down quickly but didn't particularly want to kill them either.

He uttered "Right behind you." to The Doctor. His voice crackled out in a low inhuman tone through his voice modulator as spun and launched toward the two men, propelling his body through the air with his bionic right leg, hitting the first square on the helmet with a punch from his bionic right arm. Spinning off that impact and throwing a wheel kick at the second with his bionic leg.

Hearing an audible crunch from both impacts Glass hoped the sounds were just armor and not skulls but he had no time to check. He was already turning to catch up to The Doctor, launching off his bionic leg with every other step moving at a blistering pace. "Hopefully that will buy us some time" Glass thought to himself as he closed this discance between The Doctor and himself.

Drake felt something hit his side. He looked up and froze as he saw a giant robot staring down at him. This was definitely a first for him. Sure he's seen robots before but this one was completely foreign to him.
His focused broke as he heard loud noises behind him and saw his client being detained.

He saw more UG officers in riot gear heading his way. He looked at the robot. "Help me take care of these guys and you'll have a way off this planet." He said before taking out his blaster. He aimed and fired at the first UG officer. The officer flew a few back before falling hard to the pavement

It was moments like these that Cilphi was incredibly, monumentally happy that her profession allowed her to make allies out of people who perhaps would've otherwise been enemies. Even with her mind on the goal of getting to the landing bay, she managed to glance over her shoulder at Glass twice. The first time it was out of concern. Not that she ever doubted his ability to handle himself, but he was still her (basically only consistent) patient, and with that came a modicum of worry. She had caught sight of him as he took out the second guard- so fast she almost missed it- and what little concern she held was replaced with subdued astonishment. Though she had met him multiple times, The Doctor never had the opportunity to see Glass's skill in person. She had only heard his vague retellings of the sources of his wounds, or hesitant rumors of his prowess. Even that split second glance showed him as an intimidating opponent.

When she glanced back again a moment later, he was gaining on her so fast that she had to actively suppress the instinctual feeling of being hunted. She noticed the injury to his arm, but that didn't slow him down in the slightest. The sight made her hair stand on end, and her stomach twist in a moment of panic, though her expression would only betray the fatigue of sprinting full force through winding roads and unruly crowds.

She was ridiculously happy he was on her side.

Cilphi only slowed to a stop when she could see the ships in the bay. It was hard to hear Glass's steps, especially among the chaos, but she knew he was near. She intended to stick to his side at least until they were out of the fire. Hopefully they'd both get out of this.

"We need to get on a ship," she panted, stating the obvious more for herself than for Glass. Ships big and small took off in all directions, and Cilphi scanned for one that might be their salvation. One among them sat, engines on but closed and unmoving where all others were making frantic escapes. It was clearly waiting for someone or something, and they'd have to go weave their way between ships and people and more feds, but getting on was worth a shot. Starting towards it at a slower pace that was easier on her tired body, the doctor hoped that they could slip uninterrupted through the throng.

“Wait… It’s perfect,” Daidai said as he perfectly smoothed the bangs of a deep purple wig over his forehead. He flicked the long strands back over his shoulder, revealing the top of his fin-mesh jumpsuit to his reflection. If the upper panels were for anything, it was getting fixed up on mirror mode. Startlingly, a loud voice came over the city speakers, interrupting Diadai and his pristine bangs with a jolt and a gasp.

“UG raid in progress. We will not protect any criminal actions!”

“Who called y’all pigs?” Daidai flicked the orange dice hanging in front of the main window before quickly starting the ship’s main flight mechanisms, and began preparation for takeoff. Once he got settled back into his chair, a new loud voice boomed out of a speaker from inside the walls of the ship, startling him once again.

“Dadai!? Dadai!? You here!?”

Daidai rolled his eyes and sat forward in his chair, mumbling, “I’m gonna beat the shit out of you…”

“Can you start radioing the control tower!? We’re good to go if you want to just make a speedy escape.”

Daidai reached forward to the main control panel and pressed a few buttons, but as nearby ships started ascending, he quickly paused his notification of takeoff.

“Also to all other crew members: get ready! Once the rest of the crew is here, we are good for lift off!... Also yes, these are speakers not authorized by the Captain… where is the off button…”

Daidai swiftly took his wig off and placed it in a collapsible compartment before sinking back into his chair, deeply huffing out. His face speckled with light blue-grey dots, tinting his forehead and nose bridge. His typical confidence was slightly waned from nerves. He had never had to deal with the UG’s forces before. He sat there, tapping his fingers in anticipation for what felt like eons. His forehead had deepened to a steel grey, and had also spread under his eyes. “Ugh! Where the fuck is McGregor?!” Daidai yelled back into the ship. “Everyone is leaving! We need to get the fuck out of here!”

"Killing him was an unwise move. Now, they will feel far more compelled to kill us rather than to cripple." A grainy, crackling voice as aged and withered as it was unbending and harsh buzzed out of the looming figure.

It wasn't that 15 was mourning for the officer's death. Standing tall and impassive, his expression cold and expressionless to the opaque visors of the approaching cops, it was clear he was unaffected by both the very dead body before him and the threat of joining it. Electricity crackled at the ends of shock batons; he did not need to analyse them with his computing systems to know they could be set to well above lethal (or legal) charges.

His head turned as the officers advanced, commands and cursed shouted in an alien language he hadn't fully downloaded the vocabulary bank for pelting his audio receptors. In the periphery of his sight, the solution to the approaching problems in the blocky, gunk-encrusted form of a dumpster. One ocular camera gazed at and analysed its contents, another the increasingly agitated, nearing law enforcement.

Chance of fatality: 35%

Oh well, if his actions entered the 65% range, he supposed it was simply a normal part of a cop's job.

He stepped in front of the human, subtly moving off to the side, just within reach of the hunk of junk and raised one hand slowly, another lagging just slightly behind and began to kneel. The cops didn't lower in volune or intensity, especially when he abruptly gripped his long fingers around the stinking container and swung it back, building up momentum before violently tossing it forwards. Metal legs scraped against hte ground, screams came out, and a thunderous crashed resounded as the makeshift projectile smashed into hastily raised shields and those who had tried to turn and flee. Subjects being detained scampered away as the cops doing so screamed and shouted, swearing in alien tongues as the huge machine began to beat a retreat, motioning for the man he'd nearly bowled over to lead the way.

Glass skulked through the docking area towards the idling ship trying to use the still unmoving ships as cover while also moving at a pace "The Doctor" could follow. As he drew closer to the ship, he knew their situation was becoming increasingly desperate.

Glass weighed his options. He could try to stow away, or possibly highjack the ship. Neither was an ideal option, especially with "The Doctor" with him. No to mention, he wasn't even sure how to get on board. Luckily for him, an opportunity presented itself. UG operatives were beginning to advance on the ship.

Glass turned to speak to "The Doctor", "It would seem this is where our gamble truly begins. I am going to try to keep them away from the ship. While I have their attention, see if you can find a way to get us on that ship. If nothing else hide by the entry hatch. They must be waiting for someone otherwise they wouldn't still be here. When the door opens, see if you can't talk our way onto that ship." Glass paused for a moment. "If you get a chance to escape, don't let me hold you up. I'm not gonna die here."

Before she had a chance to respond, Glass took off at a bounding pace to intercept the soldiers heading toward the ship. They looked different than the others, special forces? A kill squad? Why were they after that ship? With any luck, killing them may earn us our ride off this planet. Glass didnt want to kill them, but he knew he couldn't use non-lethal measures here, lest he end up dead himself.

Just then a steel dumpster crashed through a crowd of riot police behind the kill squad. The hunk of metal flew like it was on wheels. Sending people flying through the air like bowling pins. The spectacle was more than enough to distract the kill squad for the moment of Glass' first strike.

Sliding to a stop in their moment of innatention Glass threw his cloak back over his shoulder, retrieving his beam rifle that was slung cross body underneath the cloak. The moment his synthetic right hand touched the handle the rifle began charging. Through his cybernetic eye under his visor he had already locked onto his target. The red and silver casing of the rifle was raised from underneath the cloak, gleaming in the setting sun as his finger depressed the trigger releasing a yellow beam of pure energy.

The beam instantly flew through the body of one of the soldiers, armor and all followed by a crackling sound similar to thunder with a faint echo. By the time the soldier had slumped to the ground and his shocked comrades could begin to look for the source Glass was already moving again at an inhuman pace. Circling their group, every other step a bionic assisted leap, readying his next shot.

The downed cop groaned. "Relax robot it's set to stun." Drake said as he continued to fire at them. He moved back as the robot threw a dumpster at the cops. "Well shit." He said lowering his gun. He looked at the aftermath of that move. As the officers got scattered his client was able to escape.
"This way." He said as he moved towards his ship. He stopped at the back of the Flying Access pressing a few buttons to lower the hatch. It did lower slowly "Come on." He muttered. He raised his blaster and opened fire on any officers that were able to get up.

Cilphi could barely acknowledge Glass's plan before he had taken off towards more police. She realized that he must have noticed them coming where she hadn't in her hurry, and she wasn't keen on arguing when someone was directing her away from violent battles. So the doctor ran to to the ship, ducking and weaving through the slowly thinning crowd to crouch behind some crates near its nose. The quickest rout of action would probably be to get the pilots attention rather than search for an alternate way in, she thought. Maybe whoever was up there would see her lab coat and deduce enough to let her in. In her quick thinking, Cilphi had already loaded flash flare ammunition into her weapon. Ignoring the sounds of fighting and bedlam behind her, she aimed to let off a round, but the sound of blaster fire coming from the back of the ship stopped her.

A focused human man with black hair stood, looking by all accounts like the exact reason why the ship had been idling. He shoot into the fray of police as they continued their attempts to recoup and advance. A huge robot (cyborg? she couldn't be bothered to tell at the moment) seemed to be making its way towards the man. Glass still fought a ways away, and her plans shifted.

The first shot she let off whizzed loudly past the closest group of police and landed brightly near where Glass fought, gaining the attention of all nearby. She needed him to finish up and make his way over A.S.A.P. if they were both going to get out of there. The second shot embedded it self in one of the closer officer's mask, making him swipe blindly at the now bright spot on his face and momentarily distracting his comrades. She used the opportunity to rush to the back of the ship.

"Hey! My friend and I-" she pointed towards where Glass took down one cop after another. "Let us come with you." The doctor released another shot into the fray, making some of the officers scramble away from the disorienting flare shot. The hatch continued it slow way open. "I'm a doctor- he's a fighter- we just need passage off this planet. Please."

Glass had been fighing the kill squad with some success but now that he had their full attention they were proving to be more of a challenge. Theil loadout was completely different from the riot police, armed with vibroblades, blasters and jump jets.

Glass' overshield was putting in the real work here absorbing most of the blaster fire as he fired beams at the kill squad one member at a time. One of them however had recognized his chance and launched himself toward Glass wielding his vibroblade planning to cleave into him while he stopped to fire his beam rifle.

Before Glass could react the operative was already within reach, blade raised to strike. Just then a flash of blinding light struck his helmet. It came from behind Glass and got brighter and brighter. Due to his tinted visor Glass was not blinded however the kill squad wasnt so lucky. Glass watched them grimmace and cover their faces.

Taking that chance, Glass turned and sprinted away from the operatives leaving them with and activated plasma grenade clattering to the ground at their feet. Glass was closing in on the ship quickly as he did he saw "The Doctor" speaking to a Dark Haired Man and a hulking Machine-Man. The entry ramp was down now and the ship was looking a lot more ready to take off.

Glass slid onto the ramp and turned to begin laying down suppressive fire from a crouched position behind one of the ramps hydraulics. He was attempting to incapacitate the last of the kill squad. Glass couldn't help wondering what this ship had done to have an enemy like this after them.

"They will claim it simply did not penetrate in court. A gun is a gun and a jackboot is a jackboot. Truth is not their directive. " Due to his synthetic nature, there were no breaks in 15's voice as he spoke - he did not really even need to breathe. He had little trouble keeping pace, barreling down the streeth with heavy thudding steps. Few things stood in his way; what debris and junk was found itself bowled out of his path by his sheer size and strength. In the scene of urban carnage around him, he moved in a way not unlike an icebreaker, only instead of floating mountains of frozen water, hapless law enforcement, burning cars, and knocked over mailboxes were the victims of his rampaging charge.

His new "captain" didn't need to tell him - his legs bent mid run and he tossed himself up the still opening ramp, landing with a thud and eager to stay out of sight.

He couldn't argue with the robots logic. He shook his head as he continued to lay down fire. Sweat was dripping of his forehead as blaster bolts flew by hitting the Access haul.

He looked at the female and nodded. "Get on." He said as he got into the ship. "Daidai lift off in three minutes" he said. "We're getting out of here ."
He looked around mumbling before he grabbed something.

He walked back out he smiled evily before pressing a button. He threw a small round gadget towards the officers.

The remaining officers bunched up together as a blue shockwave hit the group. They all moved a little bit but were otherwise unaffected. They looked at each other before firing.

Drake stood still as their weapons clicked. He gave the officers a single finger salute before walking into his ship. "Strap in passengers we're leaving."

"Thank you," Cilphi said earnestly, quickly following the man up into the ship and getting out of the range of fire. She didn't know what she would've done had he turned her away, but that wasn't a thought she allowed herself to linger on. Instead she counted herself lucky to run into so many helpful people on such an unlucky day.

With getting shot no longer an immediate danger, the doctor took a moment to subtly gauge the strangers around her. She intended to take care of any injuries quickly when things finally settled. Then afterwards she could check on herself; as the effects of adrenaline wore off, an ache from her earlier tumble settled in its place.

15 didn't need to be warned about the chaotic nature of spaceflight in the same way he did for the cops he were sure were tracking and scanning the ship as it took off. This was not exactly a proper getaway and with his huge size, he doubted there was enough time for him to somehow fit himself onto a seat. Instead, he grabbed a bundle of ropes and began to tie them around himself, hooking it around a few safety clasps and securing himself into the cargo bay. No doubt this was going to be one of the messier takeoffs he'd have the misfortune of having been a part of.

Following the rest of his new crewmates as the cargo bay door closed, Glass found a seat for himself quickly getting buckled in. Staying alert while catching his breath. Keeping quiet and observing those around him.

His mind began to linger as he watched the large metallic humanoid literally tie himself down in the cargo bay. Glass was silent in anticipation for their takeoff.

The loud crashing and gunfire outside wasn’t the best nerve-calmer for Daidai, and an impact at the entrance of the cargo bay definitely wasn’t helping.

“Daidai, liftoff in three minutes!”

“Fuck that,” Daidai quickly pressed a few buttons, slowly retracting the ramp and closing the cargo door. “Welcome to the Flying Access!” Daidai shouted as the engines crescendoed to a roar. The whole ship shook as it lifted itself off of the ground. “If you’re not strapped in, then hold on! And if you can do that… well, good luck!” As soon as the word luck left his lips, he was jolted back into his chair. The ship bursted forward, burning marks into the ground and blowing clouds over the entire area. Only one thing was on Daidai’s mind: getting the fuck away from this planet.

Once they left atmosphere Drake made his way to the cockpit. He looked at his helmsman as he took a seat next to him.
"Anything interesting happen while I was out?" He asked as he looked out the holo screen.

He saw what appeared to be two UG battle cruisers and three Ilexxion light cruisers in orbit to stop any ships that were leaving orbit. "Dadai get us to a safe distance and jump I don't care where." Drake said losing his jovial tone. He strapped on his belt. "Use all the skills at your disposal." He said before priming the shields and forward weapons just in case things went bad.

Glass listened as an excited voice spoke out over the intercom. “Welcome to the Flying Access! If you’re not strapped in, then hold on! And if you can't do that… well, good luck!” Just as the brief message concluded, his body was met with a staggering amount of G-force as the ship presumably rocketed away from the ground. Luckily, the harness on his jump seat worked well enough to keep him in place.

The shaking and G-force subsided as Glass looked at The Doctor and The Cyborg. "You two ok?" the audio crackled out of his voice modulator.

Cilphi had barely managed to sit and strap herself into the nearest seat before the hulking ship took off into the sky. Space travel wasn't new to the doctor, but she would never get used to the feeling of fighting gravity as she blasted out of a planet's range. Almost inexplicably, she would feel dizzy each takeoff without fail, but only when exiting an atmosphere, never under any other circumstance. She shut her eyes and gripped the seat harness, the dizzy feeling only beginning to clear once they were far enough into space.

"You two okay," Glass asked, addressing her and the large cyborg.

Nope, Cilphi thought through a sigh. "I've been worse," she stated instead, molding her expression back into something more neutral as if on instinct. Her harsh hold on the harness relaxed. "I'll be better once we're sure we're out of this, though."

"Where is out of this, I wonder..."

A set of heavy clasps clanked against the floor of the cargo bay as the enormous machine made his way towards the rest of the crew. He did not seem to pay attention most, stomping with heavy metallic clanks against the floor.

He wanted to meet the captain.

There was a knock on the back of the cockpit.

"My end of the bargain has held up but I want to know, whatever your name may be, what is your plan?" Came his grating, harsh voice. "I doubt this is the first daring escape you have pulled but you have a new crew that will not get by with stoicism and goodwill alone."

Drake turned to look at the robot. 'Crew.' He thought as a small smile crossed his face then disappeared just as fast. "We're going to Rishi once we're in the clear. I have business there" He pulled up a Galactic map showing a planet with two satellite moons orbiting it.

"It's a Sentinel safe haven." He said referring to one of the most infamous organizations in the Galaxy. "I believe you guys can find safe passage off the planet if you so wish."

He felt the ship lurch a little. "Shit." He said as he looked at the radar. He saw five smaller ships closing in quickly. "Get to one of the torrents." He said pointing the way to it.
