This is the character sheet thread for the roleplay Adventures in Emerald Valley. Remember that in order to submit your character sheet you must have first chosen the role(s) your character(s) will play in the roleplay. As for the actual character sheets, I'll provide a basic template that has all the basics that must be added, but feel free to add any extra information you feel like adding!

-Age: (Main characters should be in the age range of early to late twenties. Keep in mind your main character doesn't "have" to be the one fulfilling the role. They can just have a relative in town who does.)

Backstory:
Her mother died giving birth and she was raised by her father. When she was younger she asked way too many questions for her own good. At age 10 her father gave her a note pad and she never let go of it. In her room she has a shoe box full of used note pads. In high school she was in charge of the school paper by sophomore year. She went to collage and went into journalism (obviously). She now works for a big news company, and for her first story she was sent to emerald valley for a few months to debunk the supernatural conspiracies of the small town.

She doesn’t know it yet but she actually has a long line of relatives who lived in Emerald Valley. Her grandmother, the last of the Connollys who lived in emerald valley moved to Boston and had her mother.

Brown hair usually swooped back, lots of freckles, 6ft 4, reasonably muscular due to working in the mines, very healthy, rosy cheeks, when he’s not in his mining gear, he’s wearing a black leather jacket, a white shirt, gray pants, and the same boots he uses to mine.

Personality: James is pretty nice, but keeps to himself a mostly. He doesn’t have very many friends, and he doesn’t need many. He finds joy in mining, it clears his mind. If he did have friends, though, people would see his amazing sense of humor. He is a little socially awkward when talking to new people so just avoids it entirely by putting on the quiet loner act. As far as his beliefs in princess natura are concerned, he doesn’t really believe in the tale, but loves to tell the stories to the kids. He’s great with kids. Deep down he knows he’s lonely but doesn’t know what to do about it.

Backstory: He’s had a quiet life growing up in emerald valley all his life, his father was a miner, and his father before him. He knew he was going to be a miner from an early age. In school he was quiet, but smart. He never went to college, and he dropped out of high school to go into the mining business. He lives alone with no pets, just peace and quiet. Now days you can probably find him in the local bar with a double ipa in hand.

Relatives: He has no siblings, cousins, aunts or uncles. His mother died a while ago. His father is alive but retired, his grandfather and grand mother are living with his father.

    >Cami usually tends to small injuries, providing medication, though she also provides heart rate and blood pressure checks.

    -Age: 21

    -Physical Description: Cami is an average height young woman standing at 5'5, with short and dark red hair forming a bob cut. Her skin is a beige tone, her eyes dark blue (though she often keeps her eyes covered with what appears to be a black blindfold), she is often seen wearing a peach pink shirt, red shorts, black boots and a white button-up coat (to her hips) as her usual wardrobe.

    -Personality:
    "I've been worried about this one thing, so... I have a question for you. What is it that motivates you, who has so much to lose?"

    A stoic and serious girl at her best of times, Cami is a girl who is emotionally deaf to herself (so she can't feel her own emotions) and is often plagued with incredibly low moods. She is often as modest as can be if too serious, and though she can't feel her own emotions nor convey them very well, she is shown to care for others and get attached to others very easily.

    -Backstory: Cami is the daughter of an archaeologist who worked out in the Stalagmite Cave System in the west of the world - and that man's name is Yuki Somay - a single man after taking up his job, which left Cami to care for herself back home when she got old enough. It wouldn't take long for things to get 'interesting', as one day Yuki did not return home until the next day, and had brought others home - a new partner for himself, and then a friend - the latter of which would lead Cami to developing a crush on this spoken individual. More and more days and weeks pass until Cami works up enough courage to continuously go out of her way to talk to the current object of her affection, and their time they had spent was the most fun Cami would ever experience in her life - able to smile wider back then compared to how much she does in the present.

    After one year of this, Cami and Yuki would wake up one morning to find both of their partners no longer 'with them', for they were missing, and later confirmed dead when Cami discovered their bodies on trees near the Verdant Sanctum forest. From there, this incident had effects on both of them, though these effects would take a full three months to develop. Yuki, a man who had now lost two partners, would reach his own insanity through gradual working without reason or motive apart from having to work to get money and in turn keep himself and his daughter alive. Cami, someone who had found someone she cared for more than anything and lent them her heart, had that same heart and spirit broken with their passing, losing her former nature and becoming who she is now while gradually losing a grip on her feelings.

    A girl who fell into the pit of love, had lost that love which led them into that pit, and is forever stuck in it - unable to claw her way out.

    None are living in Emerald Valley, but her father, Yuki Somay, is still alive and at large - still hard at work, though recent stories in the news had featured him continuing his descent into madness (though reportedly, those who were asked about this 'don't know why' this is so).

It's finally time for me to make my character sheets. I've taken the roles that were left open after everyone else chose their roles. Keep in mind there's still an option to make more characters with new roles if you want, I've mostly just taken the roles that no one had taken yet. So without further ado, here are my character sheets:

Name: Steve Parker

Age: 25

Role: Diner's Cook

Physical Description: Steve is a man with an ivory tone of skin, standing at 5'11, he has a stout and round body shape. He has short dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He often wears light-colored T-shirts along with dark-colored pants. He's noticeably round and heavy.

Personality: Steve is known to be a friendly and outgoing guy. He loves to cook, and also to talk to people. He's upbeat and optimistic. He's known to be very open about expressing himself, but he's very friendly and supportive as well, and will always try to help out someone in need if he can. He's known to have quite an appetite as well, which may be the reason behind his heavy and round body shape.

Backstory: Steve was born from a couple who lived here in Emerald Valley. Steve's father was a cook as well, and was the person to originally opened the diner. He learned to cook from his father, and enjoyed cooking along with him. His dad always told him how someday he would take over the diner and cook there as well. His mom taught him to be happy and optimistic, and to help others whenever he could. One day however, when Steve was roughly twenty years old, his father became sick. The whole situation was hard for Steve to handle, but someone had to take care of the diner now that his father wasn't capable of doing it, so Steve took over for him. His father eventually died some time later, and while it's been hard for Steve to accept the loss of his father, he made it his goal to look after his father's diner the same way his father would've done, and to continue his father's legacy.

Role: Businessman (fulfilled by her father)

Physical Description: Sophie is a young woman with fair skin, who has a slender body shape. She stands at 5'6, and has long, straight black hair that reaches about four inches above her waist. She has icy blue eyes, and wears glasses due to her astigmatism.

Personality: Sophie is quiet, shy, and quite introverted. She prefers solitary activities like reading or drawing. She loves nature, and will sometimes take walks outside to get herself inspired to draw something, or to read a good book under the shade of a tree. However, she spends most of her time inside her house, which is the Borghese's Mansion. She has a good business sense and is very intelligent, but isn't outgoing enough to make any use of it. Instead she works as the secretary for her father's corporation. While she's shy and quiet, she can open up to people she befriends, and is known to be very caring, kind and selfless.

Backstory: Sophie was born in a large city that's about two hundred miles away from Emerald Valley. She was put in the best and most expensive schools by her father, who wanted to prepare her so that she could take over the business once he was old. However, as the shy and tranquil person she is, Sophie never really had the same level of ambition, negotiation skills and quick decision-making skills that made her father such a successful businessman. Instead she prefers to be in the background, working quietly while others do the talking and the negotiating. After finishing her studies she began working as the secretary for her father's business. They moved to Emerald Valley shortly after, since her father starting making negotiations with the mayor of the town about the possibility of exploiting the natural resources of the region.

Relatives: She lives with her father, Jeffrey Borghese, who is the CEO of a successful mining corporation.

Name: Charlie Bronson

Role: Carpenter

Physical Description: Charlie is tall and muscular. Standing at 6'3, having a muscular body (most noticeably in his arms and torso), Charlie has slightly tan skin, with short dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. He's usually seen wearing light colored T-shirts along with dark green plaid pants.

Personality: A loner by nature, Charlie is independent, headstrong and serious, yet short-tempered to a fault. He is entirely devoted to his duty, spending most of his time working at his job, as he is a very hard worker. When his friends and others are in need of his help, however, Charlie can always be relied on being willing to leave his post and prove himself to be a loyal and trustworthy friend. He tends to care very little about what others think, which makes him bluntly honest, straight-forward, and somewhat egotistical. He is usually solemn, stoic, collected, and usually likes to be by himself. He is likewise stubborn, headstrong, and inflexible, preferring to do things his way, which causes him to clash with others. Regardless, he is very strong-willed, seldom wavering in his determination and will not give up on his goals once he has set them. However, he is also known to be brave, loyal, honest and kind-hearted, not doubting to help others in need.

Backstory: Charlie grew up in Emerald Valley, living in the wooden cabin located near the woods on the outside area of the town. He grew up with just his father, and learned from him to be an honest, hard-working individual. Charlie spent most of his time either working with his father or just spending time alone in the woods, and rarely came into much contact with the other people living in town. This led to him developing his independent, stoic and collected nature. One day his father was injured during a construction project, rendering him unable to continue working, so Charlie was forced to take over for him. Nowadays his father is now an older man, about 60 years old, and while he still works as a carpenter, he relies more on Charlie to help him as he's growing older.

Relatives: He lives with her father, Robert Bronson, whom he also works with.

Physical Description: Standing at 5'9, Fiona has light skin, wavy blonde hair, and an average body shape. She has green eyes, and is usually seen wearing dark-colored T-shirts and light colored pants, along with her brown boots.

Personality: Calm and collected, Fiona is an intelligent and kind person who likes to discover new things. While she mainly works as a miner, she wants to be an archeologist. She wishes to discover interesting things hidden in the mine, such as fossils, ancient relics or anything interesting that would be taken to a museum. This is her main goal, as she's fascinated by history and discovery. She's kind and calm for the most part, just getting along with people and not being too outgoing nor too shy. However, despite her calm behavior, she's very skilled at self-defense. She's a certified black belt in taekwondo, and won't hesitate to use her knowledge of martial arts to defend herself if she feels threatened.

Backstory: Fiona was born in another rural town that's about a hundred miles away from Emerald Valley, called Zapphire Meadow. There she went to school, and quickly became fascinated by history and discovery, and wanted to become an archeologist. During her teen years her family moved to the city due to her father finding a job there. At first she was bullied a lot for coming from a rural town. Her father then began taking her to learn taekwondo, and over the course of several years of training and practice, she became a certified black belt. After she finished her studies, she wanted to work in excavation sites, hoping to find some valuable ancient relic. She moved to Emerald Valley when she heard of a mining project being started there, and works there with the hopes of one day discovering something interesting and revealing about this land's mysterious ancient history..

    • Name: William Eisenhower
    • Age: 43
    • Physical Description: As a man of authority, he wears a black suit with a white undershirt, a red-stripped tie, black pants, and brown shoes. He has black short hair, with a full mustache, and blue eyes. Due to the stresses of his job, his hair and mustache is already starting to turn grey.
    • Personality: As the mayor of Emerald Valley, William Eisenhower is expectedly a well mannered and respectable authority figure. Although, having lived most of his life in the town, he has become easy to exasperate, especially at the very mention of the legend of Princess Natura. He is also rather secretive of his activities outside of governing Emerald Valley. This makes some people think that he’s hiding something...
    • Backstory: He was born in Lafayette, Indiana. When his mother died after giving birth, his father raised him. When William turned three-years-old, they moved to Emerald Valley. As William grew older, his father began to taught him the ways of a politician. After William graduated high school, his father eventually died an early death to a heart attack. Using his political smarts, he ran for mayor in Emerald Valley and won. As he ran the town, he became fearful for the survival of Emerald Valley, as he had heard that the Interstate roads had been complete and his town depended on the US highway system. Therefore, he had began negotiations with a powerful mining company, in the hopes that they can help keep his town alive.
    • Relatives: He has a mother and a father, both of whom are since deceased. While not much of his mother is known, his father was a former governor of Indiana.
    • Likes: Coffee, maintaining order, his secretary
    • Dislikes: People believing the existence of Princess Natura, his town dying, political competition
 

  • Rowena Wolfe | 26 | Female

    Appearance: Rowena stands at a tall 5'11" with hair that seems to constantly be changing colors with brown eyes. She has light skin and is on the skinnier side. Her style sways one of two ways, either a leathery punk style or a more casual style with long skirts and puffy blouses. She also frequently has ink covering her skin (though few of these markings are permanent). Her appearance seems to change vastly on a day to day basis.

    Personality: Being an outcast from the town because of her more eccentric ideas, Rowena is surprisingly a fairly friendly person. She's always looking to help those in town with her strange remedies and advice, at least for those who will listen. She's strongheaded and very confident which is seen in the way she carries herself when out and about the town and in the way she doesn't seem to care what the rest of the townsfolk think of her strange lifestyle. She is, however, the type to hold grudges for a long time. Get on her bad side, and it's going to be a long journey to get back on her good side.

    Backstory: Rowena was born and raised in Emerald Valley by her parents and grandmother (her mother's mother). In part, her grandmother is responsible for her interest in witchcraft and the occult as she encouraged her in this area. Her grandmother was once also involved in these varying ways of life. Her parents, on the other hand, did not approve of these ideas and made sure she went off to college to get away from her grandmother's influence. This backfired on them, however, as she was also out of their influence and instead delved deeper into her interests. When she returned to town, she seemed an entirely different person. She took up residency in a cottage out in the woods that used to belong to her grandmother before she moved in with her family.
    Along with witchcraft, her grandmother also told her stories of Princess Natura. She wholeheartedly believes in these stories as fact rather than fiction and thus has a deep affection for the environment surrounding the town. She aims to protect it from those who would wish to bring harm to it.
    In childhood, Rowena was friendly with a lot of the other kids, but her one true best friend is her cousin Nerissa Winters. They are the same age and practically grew up together so they are more like sisters than cousins. Nowadays, people tend to avoid her, but she does not mind having fewer friends.

    Relatives: Her parents (the Wolfes), her grandmother (mother's mother), and her father's sister and her family (the Winters)

feelings and accidentally offend them. She would never
do it on purpose; she's just a bit air headed. The way she
acts could deceive someone into believing she's an
empty-headed ditz, but she's incredibly smart when
it comes to book smarts. She's a wiz academically,
just lacks intuitiveness and self-awareness. She hides
it from the mayor for the sake of her job, but she's
superstitious about the legends surrounding Princess
Natura. She believes anything is possible in this world,
including ghosts, mermaids and mythic goddesses.

background
Chesah had a somewhat unusual upbringing. Born and
raised in Emerald Valley, her father sheltered her her entire
life after an incident with bullies in 4th grade left her bloody
with a broken arm. She was forced to focus on her family and
her studies, and was prevented from going out and making
friends. The only time she was allowed to leave the house was
to go to school. It was in high school she began to grown resentful
of her father for the way he controlled her life. Once she left for
college and was no longer controlled by him, the shock of independence
hit her hard. She spent every night from freshman til junior year
drinking and partying to spite her father and try to reclaim the
teenhood he stole from her. This died down when she reached senior
year; she was still immature from her sheltered life, but realized eventually
that she was still letting her life be controlled by her feelings towards her dad.
She was aimless for a bit after this revelation, but decided to focus on the
education she'd been blowing off for the past few years. She went on to a
different university after gaining her bachelors and gained a graduate degree
in social work. To this day she's still a bit aimless, taking up the jobs she's
offered and clueless as to what she's passionate in.
Princess Natura was yet another part of the world she was sheltered from, and
she didn't learn of her legend until returning to Emerald Valley from college. She
never formed a bias on her existence, so it's just as possible to her as
any other urban legend.

Her mother and her aren't too close, but they've bonded over
their mildly abusive experiences with Chesah's dad.

-Physical Description: A pretty enough woman with brown, wild hair and big green eyes. She's rather thin and has freckles here and there. She wears big thick glasses and a bunch of beaded bracelets she always wears

-Personality: pretty out there. Some would call her mad, the right people just think she's interesting. She is a little all over the place but she has one of the biggest hearts around.

-Backstory: she grew up in emerald valley and left to go to school. Things didn't much work out for her and all her novels ended up total flops. So, she came back home to her sick parents who died shortly after. She took a job as the librarian and has been there ever since.

-Relatives: she used to live with her mom and dad, but they are no longer alive, as previously stated

-Likes: books! Duh. She likes Chinese takeout and sappy love stories, the notebook is her favorite movie.

-Dislikes: she hates horror movies and most rock music, along with basically anything that plays on the pop or country stations nowadays. She hates ignorant people who don't know when to quit and will probably start yelling if you don't know when enough is enough

-Physical Description: She has blonde hair and Hazel eyes, paired with a fair complexion. She looks like your typical high school mean girl, although her clothes are anything but designer.

-Personality: she likes to keep to herself, but once you've earned her trust, it's yours to keep. She has a problem with falling for the wrong people and getting her heart broken.

-Backstory: she used to live in a big city with only her mom and her big brother. She never had much, but as soon as she graduated she decided to try and make a living for herself. That's when she found this lovely town.

-Relatives: no one anyone in town would know

-Likes: high heels, red lipstick, bad boys and a good tip!

-Dislikes: feeling vulnerable or showing that she's scared, not being able to pay her rent on time and she's terrified of dogs.

Tall, lean and overall well fit. This man stands at a solid 6'2ft and weighs around 193bs for his age. Blonde silky hair smooth, white skin and classic blue eyes. Arther looks an everyday face you'd pass by on the street. Always dons the classic plain looks of regular plain brown shirt completed white khakis and brown shoes. In work he wears a garden apron which is just a black apron designed for gardening with many pockets to keep items. Sometimes he wears smart casual.

Personality: Reserved and Lenient. Arther is really one of the few peeps who seems to think before he speaks. Often seen as confident and a mature individual. There's not much to say about Arther as he always appear to be chill in almost every scenario, hardly showing any other emotions other than just being calm and smiles. In work he does appear to be more lively than just being a background character for he has a light sense of humor he likes to share around and sometimes even goes outside work.

Backstory: Born and raised in Emerald Village. Arther watched and grew with the Village, with two hardworking parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ridgefield have been working in the village as farmers but both decided to run a restaurant in the big city when Arther is old enough to take care of his own. Arther like many in the village went to start making his own living by taking care and selling flowers. Turning his parent's farm land into a beautiful garden. Now he runs the Flower shop with his cousin, Elias Ridgefield.

Relatives: Mr. and Mrs. Ridgefield is currently out of town but his cousin, Elias works with him.

Personality:
Just like their older cousin, These two munchkins are just as bright minded and cool headed as him. Slight variations between the two. Elias shows a more logical and critical personality, always thinking in the rational side and can catch on into sketchy ideas while her sister Rita is the more emotional and sympathetic able to read certain things into the emotional perspective. Under Arther's guidance, one could easily see that the siblings have been influenced by their older cousin.

Backstory: Compared to Arthur, Elias and Rita are not originally from Emerald Village but from another province far away. The two were transferred to live with their cousin as their father works overseas as they tried to support his children, Elias and Rita. The two ended up in Emerald village as part-time flower shop assistants. The two never experience to have a mother and Arther is the only one who knows what happened to their mother.

Relatives: "Big Artie" or Arther is their only guardian

  • PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A fair-skinned girl with freckles and curly blonde hair. She usually wears a light red shirt with dark blue denim shortalls, a light yellow straw hat with a dark red band, and light brown boots. She has a missing upper left canine tooth.
  • PERSONALITY: A carefree, energetic, and friendly lady who lives every day like it's an adventure. She's also fairly eccentric, making her a bit...off-putting to some people who aren't used to her antics.
  • BACKSTORY: She was born to a simple farming couple, and every day she'd help her parents out with the farm or play around the fields, sometimes with friends. Of course, farm chores got boring sometimes, so she and her father started treating them as if they were adventures. Much to her parents' initial surprise, this started extending to every other part of her life. Fast-forward to the present: with her father having passed away and her mother getting quite old, Tabitha is now in charge of the family farm, as well as taking care of both her mom and her younger brother.
  • RELATIVES: She lives with her aging mother, Linda, as well as her younger brother, Fred. Her father passed away 3 years ago.
  • LIKES: music she can dance to, her family, farming, meeting up with people
  • DISLIKES: cats, pickles, rude/mean people, being shunned
  • EXTRA: If this was a TV show, she'd be voiced by Kari Wahlgren.
