Fantasy Adventure Upon The Summer Shore IC

KindlyPlagueDoctor

Above all else, do no harm
summer shores banner.jpg
The sun is rising across the island of Sulveter, The Summer Shores are coming to life. It is a day much like any other and the island as well as its people are following the ebb and flow of the world, fishermen are pushing out their boats, merchants are setting up their stalls and the guards are making their rounds. The people of Sulveter concern themselves little with the history of the island now, much preferring to get along with their daily lives. The King and Queen rule over the land in peace and prosperity......and there you are, a member of the masses, one of the common folk.
other cover.jpg

You have come to Altum Visu city, but you have not come to peruse the markets or make merry in a tavern, no, you have come because of your curiosity. A man, a human explorer by the name of Salazar Del Morrel had come running through the city, preaching of gold and treasure of a bygone age, the age of the Summer Kings. "Gold! Mountains of it!" He yells as he catches the attention of the people. Could this mans ramblings be true? For he he is old and probably not all there......but still, why not ask? What would you have you got to loose. After all he talks of the far forests, a place almost untouched by the natives and foreigners alike. While the Summer Kings may be mostly a distant memory now, their wealth certainly isn't. But remember, there's must be a reason no one ever ventures to the ancient lands.....

"Hoooowee! Look at the size of this city!" the certain young man stood amidst the city square, looking absolutely amazed at just how massive the city around him was, the people, the sounds, the smells! Everything was just plain breathtaking! "Well look at me, up in a big ol' city just like big sis. I hope shes in town, maybe i can pop on by for a visit!" the man chuckled, happy as a lark. The young man began to walk around the city's square, looking at the various venders around the place, wandering from stall to stall and looking at all the various nick knacks.

As he went about, he noticed alot of folk around the place looked rather well traveled, coming from all sorts of places no doubt. He remembered something big sis said about this city being a pretty normal place for adventurers to head to looking for work. He can finally understand why of course, the city was amazing! And after all that travelling someplace to sit down and rest abit was just what he needed.

Not to mention he needed to find work, or just something that he can set his adventuring sights on!

There was that one tidbit he heard about earlier, something about treasure in the deep woodlands? Figure it'd be best he find out about the ruins first before he goes out hiking, can't go get lost for 4 months, not like last time.

But for now, he should take his time and mosey on down the way, theres a tavern not to far away, probably would be a good place as any to search up new leads and that.

Yep, he can feel it, his luck was gonna take one big ol' turn for the better!

It was still early when Lior and Pickles left the house. Her parents and oldest siblings were up already, but they were getting the shop ready for the day, and Lior snuck out the back, her leather bag packed with the Really Useful Book as always, and extra food. Someone had found gold, and if he was yelling about it, Lior figured he wanted help bringing it back.

And if she was one of the people to bring it back, well, she'd be important then, wouldn't she?

"Pickles, come!" Lior called softly, and the dog bounced over to her from where she'd gotten distracted by smells in the street. "Today is very important," Lior told Pickles, gently roughing the fur on the black dog's face. "We have to be focused. Alright?"

Pickles wagged her tail.

"Good," Lior said. "Now, if we were adventurers, we'd be at a tavern, right?" Pickles woofed softly. "Right." Lior adjusted the strap of her bag onto her shoulder and checked her knife at its place in her belt, and then started off again down the quiet early morning street.

The tavern was quiet too, and Lior hoped nobody would get curious about an eleven year old and a dog being there, but she went in anyway.

Fenfir bumbled his way through the streets, bumping into every other person he encountered, but he made sure to apologize to each of them "Hate going to the city" he mumbled under his breath. He did hate big, crowded and noisy areas after all. He had bumped into people, dropped his things about five times and his teddy kept getting snagged on things. The constant talk of this explorer's treasure didn't help to calm him either.

He would be lying if he said the concept of treasure didn't entice him, who wouldn't want be be like the heroes from the songs and stories?

All this commotion had made him forget why he was here, so he gave himself a moment to think "New whetstone!" he said out load before covering his mouth out of embarrassment of just yelling in public. It took him a while to find a blacksmith's shop but eventually he did, and after some words and a few gold coins, Fenfir had a new whetstone. He would have turned his eyes towards home at this point but he was so flustered and worn out that he just wanted to sit down for a little while.

He timidly asked around and was eventually pointed to a tavern. He didn't really like taverns, the ones in Silmit where nice, very peaceful and friendly, but he had never been to one in a city like Altum Visu before.

The tavern was fairly quiet, which pleased him, he just planned to go sit at the back for a while to regain his composure and rest. He spotted a girl in the tavern, she was about his age if not a bit older. He turned away from her and took a seat at the back of the tavern.

Syndral Morlynn
Tavern in the City of Altum Visu

Unlike many others, Syndral was up and out early in the morning. Hearing about a man who was yelling about gold. A mountain of it. Actually, mountains of it. With that much gold, she would be able to get more herbs, help more people. Maybe even open up another clinic and help others in another area. Plus its an adventure that Syn wasn't willing to miss! There was a bag upon her back which held an extra set of clothes, some food and water. The man didn't make this journey sound easy, so she was willing to come extra prepared. In the city of Altum Visu, Syndral found the tavern in which she stepped into. Finding it's quiet atmosphere to be quite comfortable. So this is where it begins... Well, not backing out now. The Aelf was gonna pursue this till the very end. Unfortunately, she knew very well that she wasn't the only one who would take on this chance to get gold. No doubt that there would be other people who'd hop on the train too.

Looking around the tavern, she noticed there was a girl sitting inside, along with a young boy. Hopefully these two were mere townspeople of the city and not willing to go on such an adventure like this. Going to ruins was no joke. The young healer moved to the bar and asked for a glass of water before taking her seat, placing her bag down on the ground between her feet. Once the man at the bar handed her some water, she thanked him and took a sip from the glass, thinking out what she planned to do just to get to the ruins themselves. No doubt there was probably some dangers there. Broken paths, bridges possibly, heck, maybe the building is still collapsing. Who really knew for sure?

Macie Vedette & Fritter Alshuk
Collab: Petroshka Petroshka

Fritter and Macie were about to make their move onto the caravan Macie was to go in from under and Fritter from above, their goal? Coins and valuables. Fritter flew in quietly and landed without a sound, she peaked in to see three men talking about their day and one of them was sleeping off the ride. It didn't seem the other cars notice her landing and she started crawling on the side and down to the bottom to see Macie.

Macie, with her small legs and long tail, runs frantically along the bottom of the carriage. She stumbles keeping up with it as she waits for her partner in crime to land. It wasn't the same as the old days, but it wasn't bad. The moth lands and that was her signal to climb aboard. With a burst of energy she sprints faster than she'd been doing and leaps up to the bottom of the carriage's axle. She grabs a hold but constantly has to reposition as it turns around in her hands. She looks around for something else to grab a hold of and a large bar of wood. It didn't seem to move as often as the other parts did and that'd be her best shot at climbing up. She wiggles along the axle with her feet a few inches above the ground before being able to grab the wooden bar.
Her little claws dig in and she scurries onto it. There was barely any room on top of the rod but yet she found herself squished into it. She checks the ground to make sure she hadn't dropped anything but even if she had, that part of the path was far behind them. Macie's chest rises and falls as she rolls as she crawls along it trying desperately to catch her breath and get into a suitable position for her to steal these shinies. The moth was more interested in these things than she was, but shinies could buy food, and food was more valuable than anything else in this world. Anything except family.

As Fritter got to the bottom of the cart she saw her little rodent friend, breathing faster than usual. it wasn't exactly unusual for her to do but running up to the cart must've brought some air out of her. Fritter gestured to her that there were in fact coins and even some amount of food. Giving Macie a thumbs up, Fritter jumped back out and hovered for a while observing Macie doing her thing then she started unfolding their usual routine plan. Sticking on the side of the cart once again Fritter climbed back up to the roof and crawled towards the front near the driver. The driver isn't going to look backward very often and she doubt he'd notice a moth. Even if it was a one foot tall one crawling behind him. most of the bodies should be near where he sat however and that part of the entrance wasn't usually noticed.

Macie knew her moth companion was overly arrogant with her size and natural appearance. She'd be lying if she ever claimed herself free of similar exploits. She often abused her mousy appearance to play the part of an overgrown mouse or a stuffed animal. Tall folk were surprisingly comfortable with the idea of a dead Verminus posing rigidly but a live one who wanted companionship seemed to scare them.
With a tightening of her tail she swings across to one of the wheels. This move was risky and she was well aware of the risks. She'd seen it fail before and broken bones weren't something she was looking for at the moment. With a leap she makes her way over to the wheel and is almost immediately bucked off into external side of the cart. Her claws dig into the wooden planks and she hangs there for a moment to get her bearings. She was amazed the cart behind hadn't seen her yet but then again, tall folk were often blind to the world they lived in.

She shimmies along the wooden planks of the cart until reaching the area behind where the driver sits. She could squeeze herself nice and low in there. A few gaps between cushion and seat, seat and cart, cart and base, these gaps were like a newly discovered home away from home to her. She wedges herself into the largest of the gaps and has enough room to comfortably roll about inside. She didn't plan to stay there forever but if they acted now she suspected the worst to become reality. She makes a series of gestures to the moth saying that they wait until night before hauling off with the goods. If only they spoke the same language, life would be so much easier.

Slipping in Fritter found Macie crawling in through a gap in the cart, she helpped her however she could, her little mouse friend weighed more than her and was adsurdly stronger than her but every little bit of help counts, right? Looking around Fritter found a back of coins and some food, the two decided to stay behind carts just in case the others were to look over in their general direction. Folding her wings to conform to her body shape made Fritter look much more slimmer as her floof stopped being so floof. This would in theory make it harder for anyone to spot her let alone the dazed humans to tired to really care about their surroundings.

Grabbing a piece of what she assumed was a vegetable leaf, she began to chow down as she hasn't eaten in a while. but then she glanced at Macie gesturing something she didn't understand but she decided that Macie probably knew better and sat where she was. If anything happened she supposed she'd just have to follow Macie's lead. Her little mouse friend seemed to know more than she did although she seemed too careful.

Macie rolls onto her side and raises her arm as if signalling that the little mouth should crawl in beside her. If they both shared a place, and the mouth was the one on the outside, the chances of the tall folk growing suspicious of their motives were incredibly slim as they'd be unable to see the Verminus. While she lay there it may seem she's calm or even drifting off to sleep but this little mouse never stopped thinking.

Wait until dusk, rob them of their food and shinies, hitch a ride or walk home. Sure the walk would be incredibly dangerous if they tried to walk the whole way back to the hideout but birds this far out weren't that large or at least didn't seem to hunt creatures of their size very often. Still, the chances of them being found and hunted down by either tall folk or birds was just too high. A breath of exhaustion slips past her lips. She squeaks in her native tongue, the only one she knows, "Perhaps the city will find us safe passage."

Fritter watched as her friend basically laid down beneath the driver's seat at the front of the cart, then she gestured to her to come over, and so, she did. Laying down next to the mouse and finishing off a leaf she looked at Macie curious about her. She squeaked something that she didn't understand but it was cute so all what Fritter did was smile at her. Whispering she couldn't think of anything else relevant to say other than, "We found a lot of loot huh?"

Macie lowers her arm over the moth as the two lie down side by side beneath the chair. The warmth of the driver's body against the cushion made the nook warm and inviting while the climb up had tired her out. She feels herself slipping away into the teasing embrace of sleepiness. "I have no idea what you're saying." She tightens her grip on the moth and nuzzles her face into her shoulder. Her eyelids grow heavy and her limbs feel like dead weights. She tries to force her eyes open but fails and as they close, she murmurs, "Don't let me sleep."

Fritter looked up at her mousy friend and hugged her in response it seemed the day tired Macie out and Fritter thought she needed a good rest. Covering her with her wings, she acted as Macie's blanket, and Fritter's natural colour, which usually blended with her surroundings, would prevent the two from standing out underneath the driver's seat. As Macie murmured something Fritter didn't understand, she simply pet her head and whispered "sweet dreams"

Salazar Del Morrel's gold
salazar.jpg
The day was just starting to calm down, the townsfolk had began to pay less mind to the ravings of the old man and his treasure, it would seem he would turn into an interesting conversation to have at dinner time. That was until the man himself came storming through town once again, a jingling sound followed him as he pushed through the crowds towards the tavern, pushing past a farm hand and practically kicking in the door.

Now that all eyes where on him, he held his head high as he strode straight to the bar, stealing a chair one of the patrons had pulled out for himself "Barkeep, Altum Visu wine, the classic stuff" he said as he held his hand up and snapped his fingers "Fast now, don't keep me waiting!" he said in a condescending tone.

The bar keeper rolled his eyes and began to fiddle with some keys, he unlocked a small cabinet and pulled out a very intricately detailed looking bottle. Bringing it back To Salazar and getting it snatched from his hands before he could put it down.

Taking out the cork and pouring himself some wine and taking a sip "Ah, the good stuff. Not like that dribble the lesser men drink" he said before taking a single gold coin from his pocket and flipping it to the barkeeper who studied the coin for a while before pocketing it "Pleasure" he said as he nodded and wet back to his business.

Salazar continued to drink his wine, slamming the bottle on the bar table at each refill, eventually causing another gold coin to fall from his pocket and roll across the room before it eventually stopped at Syndral's chair. Salazar, noticing his missing coin, had started to dart his eyes around the room before spotting his lost coin at the base of Syndral's chair "Don't you dare touch that, girl, its worth more than your whole family!" he shouted as he jumped from his own chair and stormed towards Syndral's.

Tavern in the City

Syndra tried her best to ignore the annoying man not too far from her down the bar. People were annoying in their own way, yes. But this man seemed to be taking it to the next level, being impatient with the barkeep as well as being bossy and rude. Someone like this, Syndral did not enjoy being near, but as long as he didnt bother her, she was fine. No conflict. Time went by and coins kept being tossed before she heard one cling against the floorboards before stopping. This made the Aelf look around and then down, spotting the gold coin that -she assumed- came from the man. This was confirmed when he started storming toward her and saying that the coin was worth more than her whole family. Narrowing her golden eyes, she picked up the coin anyway and held it in her hand, not backing down from the angered man. "How dare you!" she shouted, glaring at him "This is one gold coin! I've earned many of these. Dont act like this coin is any different!"it was clear she was angry, especially with her glowing runes down the skin she exposed.

As soon as he was close enough, Syn threw her fist and slammed it right into his face "That is what I think of your stupid gold coin! Next time you should think of what you say before approaching a lady that agressively." while she was at it, she handed the coin to the Barkeep "Keep it. After the annoyance he's been? You earned it." she didnt care if this coin wasnt hers, it was a matter of giving one who may need it and teaching the other a lesson. Think of it like Robin Hood. Turning back to the man that she just socked in the face, her glare returned to her eyes "And you. You need to learn to be a lot nicer to people! Not to mention you need to stop being so rude! Who brought you up? A pack of wild dogs!? the Aelf clenched her jaw as she stared at him, not carin what pain he may be in from her hit. Syn may have been a woman, but she packed a punch.

Nathaniel Clear-Ripple
The waterways of the Yampan River were quiet this afternoon. The fish lazily swam beneath his barge, eyeing the lure tossed in the water with a knowing look. It would be a shame to get caught on such a beautiful day, they seemed to say to him. Nathaniel almost agreed with them, lying with his back against the solid side of his boat, Fitch curled up in a lazy ball by his side, snoring noisily. The ripples of the water on the wood behind his head whispered calm words, lulling the giant man in and out of a half-slumber. The boat and its passengers were simply drifting, drifting, drifting along as the gentle current took them. They would arrive at the docks of Altum Visu by the day's end, but the captain of this dreaming ship was in no hurry to get there. Let them wait, there would be plenty of time for hauling fish and marketing stalls and haggling prices when the time came for them. Now, in the solitude of the lonely river's sway, he felt the sun's green kiss through the leaves of the forest trees, the light through the window of his wooden-pillared halls. All the world was his home, and this forest was simply his foyer, the river was his hallway, and his slowly wandering boat was his comfortable armchair for an afternoon snooze.

Salazar Del Morrel's gold

Salazar recoiled a bit after Syndra's punch but managed to steady himself and prevent himself from falling "You must be either the bravest or most foolish girl i've ever met" he had to stop himself from drawing his weapon, he had been in bar fights before and won many as well. He noticed the runes along the woman's body, if she was magic then he wanted to avoid taking a ball of fire to the face....and beard. But he didn't want to just walk away, he wanted to make himself seem better than her, somehow. It hit him "You may have seen many coins...but not like these" he said smirking as he pulled another coin from his pocket.

"Take a look at this coin, notice anything?" he asked as he held to the coin to Syndra's face "The face on it, its not our current king or the one before him or even the one before him.....its one of the summer kings" he said in an oddly hushed tone "Now look at me in the eyes and tell em you see these on a regular basis" he said once again smirking "Now why would i use this ancient coin, a coin worth much more than a simple bottle of wine on just that, a bottle of wine? because there's mountains of this stuff.....and you'll never know where those mountains are" he said in the most condescending tone possible. "Or maybe you will" he said as he pulled a rolled up map from his pocket "Gold brings out the worst in men...maybe it needs a woman's touch?" he said as he laughed and put the map back in his pocket and returned to his wine.

Fenfir Layken

Fenfir nearly jumped from his seat when Salazar shouted at the lady in the tavern, this day just wasn't going that well, he was already flustered and tied and now it looked like a fight might break out. He would be lying if he said the woman's glowing runes didn't scare him, he had seen magic before but not like that. He would have plucked up the courage to go ask if she was alright but he thought the runes would.....do something bad.

When he saw Salazar hold up the old coin it did interest him, it reminded him of the mountains of gold he had heard about, he wouldn't even know what to spend all that gold on but it would be nice. His fantasizing was interrupted by a thought "I...recognize her" he could have sworn he saw her or had at least heard of her from Silmit, but who was she? "The healer!" he thought, he didn't trust healers anymore.....not after his mothers death.

When Fritter woke up she found Macie or rather, didnt. Yawning she looked around for her little mouse friend only to be met with the familiar clopping of horse hooves from outside, she got up and looked around the guards were there as per usual but they seemed more restless now talking about a "Altum Visue" Fritter had heard of the town before but nothing much only in passing, thinking that Macie probably either left her or went to go do something she started to eat some food to fill her tiny belly up before making out with a few treasurinos she wont be able to carry much but she doubt she'd be caught anyways. However, once the cart stopped Fritter started to panic until she realized a city guard was talking to them, sighing and exhaling she filled herself up faster and got a tiny pouch to make away with her loot. Once things had settled down she left where she came from and hid in a inconspicuous looking roof eating the last tiny piece of bread and wondering what to do now.

Lior watched the adults fight in dismay. Why were grown ups like that? She leaned down under her chair and grabbed Pickles' collar, since the dog had started to growl, very softly. "Sssssh," Lior whispered. "Good girl."

The tone of the adult's conversation changed, and Lior sat up a little to listen. Of course the old man, who seemed incredibly unpleasant, was the one who knew where the gold was. Of course. Lior chewed on her lower lip. He didn't seem likely to share where he'd found it with anyone, and probably not with an eleven year old. She'd have to follow him, and not get caught.

Casting her gaze around the rest of the room, Lior spotted a boy about her own age, also sitting alone. She wondered if he were there for the treasure too, and gave him a tiny little wave.

Fenfir Layken

Fenfir had become a fair bit calmer as the day went on. he continued to scan the inn every now and then to......just make sure everything was in order and that nothing as about to happen, he hoped that the man was done with his "show", what with him almost starting a fight and what not.

He noticed that the man was drinking a lot and he wondered if in his drunken state he would give away details or even sell the map. He had seen things like that before, when he went into taverns to sell fish. People became drunk and said things they didn't mean to or sell things they shouldn't have, like swords or even magic items.

Fenfir was about to put his head down again but he then noticed a girl giving him a little wave out the corner of his eye. His eyes opened a bit as he caught her eyes. He waved back and moved a bit closer to her "Um hey....my names Fenfir....whats yours?" he said in a nervous manner, he didn't really know what to say or do in this situation, after all he had just come for a new whetstone

Meadow
Tavern in Altum Visu

For Meadow It had been a tiring travel to the city and that drunken old coop of a man sitting across from her wasn’t making it any better. She had come all the way to the city to meet a man who supposedly was willing to pay a sizable amount of coin for wolf and bear pelts. While the buyer hadn’t shown up yet Meadow sought to make her wait more comfortable by sitting down and having a drink, something she doesn’t really do all that often. It didn’t take long for her to realize there would be no peace and quiet here as the old man’s bottle was refilled time and time again. Meadow couldn’t help but be amused at her next thought,’maybe he’ll get so slammed he’ll fall out on his arse and we’ll get some much needed silence.’

That’s when he began raising his voice at a lady seated next to him, rattling on about how his gold coins outmatched the value of peoples lives. He had been a nuisance before but now the old guy was really working meadow’s nerves. She laid her hands down on the bar to stand, readying herself to march over there and drag the bum out by the scruff of his neck for how rude he spoke to that woman. That was until said woman almost knocked him off his feet. Meadow couldn’t help but let out a small praise to the woman for shutting the old man up. However, the man recomposed himself and continued to ramble on about his gold coins and how there was a secret treasure that only he knew the location of. Things had just started getting interesting Meadow had decided.

Syndral Morlynn
City Tavern

"I'm rarely foolish. I rather defend myself than be talked down to." she remarked, giving the man a cold and hard stare. When he shoved the coin in her face, she looked at it for a brief moment before shoving his hand from her face "It's rude to put something so close to someone's face." this man was really starting to annoy her, but as he continued to speak, he mentioned the mountains of gold in a mountain itself. It didnt take Syn long to put two and two together and realised that this man was the one who went around and claimed that there was mountains of those special gold coins. "I dont think the map needs a woman's touch. Besides, the only reason why I came here was to go on the adventure to find the gold and use it for good. Not my own greed. With or without the map, I know I would be able to find it fairly better on my own. No matter the conditions that lie there." she grabbed her glass and her bag "Now if you excuse me, I'm going to enjoy my time here. Without you bothering me."

With that said, the Aelf moved to a table and placed both her bag and her glass down, sighing softly and picking up her glass of water once more. Taking a sip and placing it back down for the second time. The last thing she needed was the old geezer by her side while going on an adventure. No thank you. Her golden eyes scanned the room, seeing a familiar young boy who was speaking to someone else. She's seen him before, but where... The more she thought about it, the more it rang a bell. He belonged to her hometown! The boy who...Lost his parents....

KindlyPlagueDoctor KindlyPlagueDoctor (ITS TRASH I TELL YOU DX)

"Lior," she said. The boy looked deeply uncomfortable, and she couldn't blame him. "And this is Pickles," she added, leaning down to rub the dog's ears. "Are you here about the treasure too?" she asked. Adults clearly couldn't be trusted with anything that important, but maybe the two of them would be alright.

Blood Money

It would seem the tavern had "quieted" down. The scuffle between Salazar and Syndral had more or less ended, allowing the tavern goers to return to their business, and it seemed that things would finally return to normal, albeit with an obnoxious old man who was very deep in his cups, occasionally cursing or demanding more, but still it was peace. This pseudo peace went on for a while, the tavern atmosphere had returned, glasses where clinked and conversations where had. Unfortunate this camaraderie was shattered by a man kicking the door down, followed by a man shouting "SALAZAR!" In a horse and aged voice,as the old man storms towards Salazar. This second old codger was dressed in a similar manner, a morion helmet and a single chest plate, however his was dirty and dented.

The next few moment where a flash, the second old man pushed Salazar to the ground and began to pummel him. The barkeep, not wanting another fight, tried to intervene, but was knocked out by the mysterious second man. It seemed Salazar had met a similar fate, knocked out cold. The second man "Marco keeps his promises, Salazar...i promised to avenge the others..." the old man says, before ripping the map from Salazar. Marko stands but stumbles as he looks down "Bastard!" he shouts as he sees Salazar's dagger embedded in his side. "Someone....t-take....." his words are cut short as he twitches and falls to the ground, his armor making a distinct thud.

The map rolls across the ground, towards Meadow Holbrook! However the map is covered in strange symbols, definitely old tongue. without a translation guide the map appears almost impossible to decipher.

Meadow
Tavern in Altum Visu

Meadow had relaxed slightly since things had settled down. She tipped back her glass, her bright green eyes surveying the customers of the tavern. All the occupants seemed pretty regular for the most part, some having a laugh with friends, others drinking their troubles away. Nothing too out of the ordinary compared to the many other taverns Meadow had visited on similar trips. She didn’t think much of it until she spotted children, young children at that. Meadow was a little concerned of why they were at a tavern of all places but, it didn’t appear that anyone was giving them any trouble about it, so she let it go for now.

It didn’t seem like the young boy and girl knew each other. They were introducing themselves to one another, albeit awkwardly as if the exchange embarrassed them. Meadow smiled as she observed them, finding the scene to be terribly sweet. She figured that they would become really good friends in time. Meadows attention turned back to the woman from before. She was rather impressed with how the woman handled the situation with the drunken old man. It’s much too often people let themselves get walked on so, Meadow finds it refreshing that the woman stood up for herself. Meadow couldn’t help but wonder about the markings trailed on the woman’s skin, what they mean, what they’re for. She returned her focus to her drink hoping she hadn’t been caught staring.

Meadow nearly jumped out of her skin when a second old man kicked the door down. It appeared that he knew the old man from before and had a bone to pick with him. The second old man, assumed to be Marco was beating Salazar senseless. He spoke of avenging ‘the others’ , which lead Meadow believe the two had stirred up some trouble in the past. Meadow watched as they fought over the map as if they were a couple of toddlers scuffling over a toy. That’s when Salazar buried his dagger in Marco’s gut, promptly sending him to the ground. Meadow whipped around in worry of the children, and prayed they had missed the bloody scene at the front of the tavern. Marco dropped the map as he fell, it rolling towards Meadow as if asking to be picked up. Marco seemed to want someone to take it, keep it from Salazar at least and so she obliged.

Reading the map however, would prove to be an issue, as it would seem to be written in a language foreign to herself. Meadow at a loss of what to do leans to the woman covered in runes, "Well then, any chance you might know how to read this, miss...?"

Syndral was caught off guard when suddenly someone kicked the door down and suddenly attacked the old geezer who she had just punched moments ago. The barkeep tried to break the two up, but that failed massively and cause the barkeep himself to be knocked out cold. Salazar followed and Marco... Well... He had a Dagger embedded into his side and caused her golden eyes to widen "Cover the children's eyes!" she suddenly shouted as she quickly threw herself off her chair and hurried over to the stabbed male, getting on her knees and placing her hands around the dagger "You're not going to die. Not while I'm here. This is going to hurt and I apologize greatly." everything else around her had been blocked out. No sound, no vision, she was clearly focused on the injured man in front of her. Taking her hand, Syn grabbed the dagger and pulled it out, only for her palm to cover up the wound. Closing the golden eyes she possessed, she began to work her magic. Her runes glowing as her magic begun the healing process on Marco.

The wound wasnt extreme enough to take much energy, but it still took a decent amount to repair what had been hit with the dagger on the inside. After a few moments, the Aelf pulled her bloodied hands away and examined the wound that was once there. Now all that had been left was blood and a tear within the clothing. "There... You're okay now..." she looked at the face of the man she just saved and smiled a little before looking at a girl who caught her attention with the map. There were runes, but only some words she was able to make out "Barely." she informed the girl. "The only thing I can make out is the words "Forest" and "Summer kings." other than that, it's all jibberish to me."

Meadow
Tavern in Altum Visu

Meadow couldn’t quite believe what she was witnessing as the woman before her restored Marco, whom was just on the edge of death moments ago, back to health. Granted, she had never been a closed minded person about the possibilities in this world, she had just never seen such a thing before with her own two eyes. Softly, almost as if it had never been said at all, Meadow voiced her amazement, "you saved him." She realized that this was a very obvious thing to say and tried her best to sound less like a dolt by changing the subject. She could ask about the healing magic later, assuming the two were still in each others company.

Meadow glanced over the map once more trying to make sense of it, "hmm, you don’t suppose it’s a puzzle? Perhaps with a key that translates the symbols?" It had only been a guess, A real stab in the dark if you will. She had read of such things as a child and always found them to be interesting. If she was wrong however, maybe they could find someone who could read more of the map and help translate it.

Fritter not knowing what to do started to go from rooftop to rooftop searching for anything interesting to catch her attention it wasnt until she saw something else that could fly like her but it didnt seem to flap its wings. she trailed it as it went from house to house dropping random things down at the doors, she flew down and looked at one of the packages but was quickly shoo-ed off by a disgruntled person who came out of the house to pick it up. Frowning she was annoyed so she followed the anonymous flyer, now determined to know what was in those packages. she flew high and fast to catch up to it and generally staying out of the public eye, when she was a good distance from the flyer she dived down and rammed into the thing, she wasnt sure if she even made enough momentum to bring it off balance as she just plinked off thanks to her tiny weight and stature. hitting the ground she sat up and rubbed her head. "ow..."

Marco staggered up, not really believing he was still alive "Oh my....haha! thank you maiden, gods bless the ground you walk!" Marco said, smiling towards Syndral. "I've seem healing magic before but i never thought i would need some of that caliber!" Marco said, examining the runes on Syndrals arms before examining his own wounds, or lack there of. He was amazed the wounds was completely healed, leaving only the hole in his clothing.

"Thank you, truly. i owe you my life" Marco said, bowing his head "Is there anything i can do to repay you? anything at all?" He said, in a stalwart tone.
