The Summer Shores or Sulveter in the ancient tongue is a peaceful land, troubled not by the threat of wars or invasion, or the looming fear of magical horrors from another world. For you see, thousands of years ago Sulveter was ruled by a coven of Aelfs known as "The Summer Kings", who's names have been lost to time. The Summer Kings witnessed many things throughout their lives, the arrival of the first humans and the first true understanding of magic by the people at large, under their rule the land was prosperous even to the point where a human was able to secure a place on the coven of kings. However no tale is complete without tragedy, while the details have once again been lost to time it is known that one king turned on the other. Now the summer kings where wizards, and wizards of great skill, it would seem that the coven unity would be their downfall as kings began to choose sides and in a cascade of magic, left no trace of the kings, save for their crowns.
Now one would think that the destruction of the monarchs would leave the island in chaos, but no. For you see the inhabitants often come to believe that there is an ebb and flow to life and so they adapted, while there was a short confusion and concern for the safety and future of Sulveter, it was decided that it would be given two leaders instead, a king and a queen. Life has continued on Sulveter like this for many years, seeing its fair share of Human and Aelf leaders, all the way to the island current rulers King Fayvin and Queen Alirya two Aelfs from one of the noble houses of Altum, the islands capital city.
And then there's you, now your..no one special perhaps your a fisherman or a farm hand. You may even be a apprentice mage or even a knight, ready to defend the realm, either way you hold little sway in the world.
Now there's one thing that the inhabitants of the Summer Shores love and that is stories, legends of brave heroes exploring the lands and finding glory and treasure are a favorite among taverns and inns. So go, go and carve you name into legend, go and become heroes!
And maybe one day, when the adventure is over you can go back home and rest, and pass on the story........or maybe the life of adventure is too much to pass up?
This RP, being more peaceful and noblebright will focus more on character interaction and development, think of it as a sort of slice of life but fantasy. Now when it comes to exploration, its gonna be like D&D, you'll enter a room and you can state what your character is going to try and do, such as look in the small room off to the side or search those old boxes, and then i will roll a dice and depending on that roll, pick an outcome to see if anything happens. This will also be similar for events and NPC dialogue.

Yampan River- the largest river that runs through the island, while its frequented by fishermen on a daily basis due to its high population of a variety of water based fauna, sometimes it is plagued by river pirates, however the problem is normally solved with either the aid of the town guard or some privateers.
Altum Visu City- Altum is the main governing city on the island of summer shore. It sits atop the plains in the center of the island. The castles and homes of the city are all varied, coming from different ages and times. You may start at the main castle Salinval, a relic from the time of the first summer kings and walk down a short while and come to a market that is bustling with merchants, blacksmiths and alchemists. If there is something you need and the Altum market doesn't have it, there is most likely a sailor or explorer you can pay to find it.
Kinallen Town- One of the bigger towns that is a fairly lengthy walk away from the city of Altum. The town is best know for its hunters. Meat and leather are the towns main exports, with people coming from various towns to come and sample the high quality resources. The town is populated by a variety of species. Humans, Aelfs and even Kobolds.
Silmit- Silmit is a coastal town, primarily inhabited by Aelfs and the odd spattering of humans and Verminus. The town is a very peaceful place, generally known as a sleepy town where nothing is in a rush. Given that its a coastal town there's often a few interesting people there, sailors from far off land or traveling merchants looking for a rest
Mossley- Mossley was one of the original human settlements on the island and has remained as such. While there are other races in the town of Mossley, they are a large minority to the larger human population. The humans of Mossley are very proud of their towns origins, making sure to educate all withing the town about the towns history. The towns main export would be anything related to metal work, be they weapons or tools, many people will come to the human blacksmiths to get them.
Karinex- Karinex is a "town" primarily inhabited by Kobolds and Verminus. While its not a slum its not the most glamours place, the houses are normally inhabited by Kobolds while Verminus often make their warrens either in a random piece of land or in a Kobolds house.
Ruins- The island is dotted with many ancient ruins, relics from the bygone age of the Summer Kings. These ruins generally pose little threat apart from the "Awoken" these creatures are essentially undead, usually in the form of skeletons that re-animate in order to either take care of the ruins or to talk to travelers, either way they are generally considered to be passive creatures and cannot leave their ruins
Human- Humans are not native to the summer shores, they came from the original human explorers who themselves came from the unknown lands across the sea. Humans have been around on the island long enough to be viewed as the norm by the native population. Humans as im sure you know, are a varied people meaning they can fill a multitude of roles.
Aelf- Sometimes known as "Summer Folk" are the original inhabitants of the summer shores, they have a slightly longer lifespans then humans, where as a human would live to perhaps 80 an Aelf would live to around 110. Generally they are a calm and laid back people however they can be equally as inquisitive
Kobold- Kobolds are another native race to the summer shore, originating from the mountains the northern regions of the island. they are small creatures, often never becoming taller than 5 feet. they are a mischievous people who enjoy pranking and messing with the other inhabitants of the island. Because of this many other races on the island have come to view them as pests, not everyone but a large percentage of people.
Verminus- These small rodents are a strange race, they appear as bipedal rats that only ever reach around 2 feet tall, while some lucky ones do reach 3 feet. They are not native to the island, in true rat fashion they came from the human ships that they had hidden on.
Bearfolk- Bearfolk are large bipedal bears that mainly inhabit the southern mountains. they are a very secretive people, never straying too far from their mountains unless they are in dire need of supplies. the Bearfolks strength is something to behold, they are without a doubt the strongest native species on the island, already growing to about 8 feet tall Bearfolk are impressive fighters when provoked. they posses a very wise attitude when not in combat, often imparting wisdom to those they come across.
Merfolk-Merfolk is a very general term, being used to describe any sort of aquatic people, mermaids or sharkfolk etc. Some Merfolk are native to the Summer Shores and some aren't. Given their aquatic nature they are normally seen near coastal towns.
Others- There are many lands across the sea's that are home to other races, however should one of these chosen people wish to come to the Summer Shores then they will most likely be a minority
Magic is a strange force, some individuals are born with otherworldly abilities, now magic is a very general term as the pure force of magic has no element or effect. Wizards must have their abilities honed into one type of ability, such as the towns healer, patching up wounds from sparring or hunting. Some wizards choose to create a much more direct application for their magic, such as the magic smiths. These wizards are people who use their powers to strengthen weapons and armor by pounding pure strength straight into their weapons, perhaps ones sword will never blunt or your helmet may never rust, the need for magic smiths is high as are any sort of trained wizard.
Magic, while being a powerful force does not make one a god among men, while one wizard may choose to expel bolts of fire from his fingertips, that will most likely be the extent of his power. The very idea of creating storms of fire or summoning lighting from the skies is viewed as preposterous.
