Roman squinted for a few moments before pulling the pin on his grenade and tossing it into a car adjacent to the group of advent soldiers before mouthing the word 'Boom'

Nikolaj slid the action smoothly. Up, back, forward, down. Shots pulsed over his head, startling him, and he pressed himself a little lower into the car. Benedikt used a grenade on them, but the man suppressing him survived. He'd have to take him out of his own accord. He did his best to steel his nerves against the nearby shots, took aim at the Captain, and squeezed the trigger.

The .416 magnum round whipped by the ADVENT Captain, and for a second the soldier pulled back, but continued to suppress in cover.


However, Roman's grenade wasn't as unlucky. The grenade bounced and exploded, its heavy HE payload eviscerating the ADVENT Captain for good. The lone remaining ADVENT Trooper screamed something into what was presumably his radio link, and continued pointing his rifle out of the cover in Overwatch. He didn't account for Adrian's attack however,

The FN FAL's 7.62x51 NATO round punched through the alien circuitry of the holo-ad, silencing its droning report on pig-iron. The round continued straight through the ADVENT trooper's helmet, and the now largely headless ADVENT trooper slumped to the ground.

"Alright, Gatecrasher. They're stirred up now. Make your way to the statue and plant the X4 charges. Be wary of ADVENT reinforcements along the way. Central out."

Benedikt sprinted towards the statue.

Roman stayed as close to Benedikt as he could, trying to provide cover from any reinforcements. It felt good, doing this, really good.

Josh looked at them. "How's the situation been?" He asked them over commlink.

 

[Ferociousfeind]

"The ADVENT soldiers went BOOM!" Benedikt said back through the commlink

 

[Obi-Wan Kenobi]

Nikolaj pushed himself off the car and sprinted for a holo-ad a little further along. Once safe in cover, he took the time to reload his rifle. "Watch out for ADVENT dropships. Let us know if you see any."

 

[Kalashnikova Squid]

As if triggered by Nikolaj's words, a red flare bounced to the ground in the middle of the street and started, glowing an angry red and emitting smoke.


"Look out, Gatecrasher!" shouted Central. "Intel reports an ADVENT dropship coming in hot!"

"Anybody got some spare explosive?" Roman asked as he set up overwatch, hoping to catch a few off guard.

 

[Ferociousfeind]

"I am grenadier! No grenades are spared! All must go BOOM!" Benedikt shouted into the comm, setting up overwatch in the direction of the red flare.

 

[MrRifter]

Adrian moves into a cover facing the flare between Nikolaj and Benedikt, then went into overwatch. "I think I bring one" he replies to the comm.

 

[Obi-Wan Kenobi]

Nikolaj swore vigorously in Danish, setting himself up in a good position from behind his holo-ad cover. The things creeped him out a little, but made some decent cover. "I should have a grenade, if that'll do. Here." He tossed it across to Roman, making very sure that it was unarmed. Then, he looked to the skies and readied himself against any ADVENT soldiers.

A sleek, angular black dropship flew overhead, hovering over the flare. The large side doors popped open, and out came a huge, mechanical ADVENT MEC, two ADVENT soldiers, and an ADVENT captain.


AC-1343 triggers Nikolaj's overwatch! Rolled a 73.


AM-0013 triggers Benedikt's overwatch! Rolled a 88.


AT-3521 triggers Roman's overwatch! Rolled a 55.


AT-5425 triggers Adrian's overwatch! Rolled a 32.


The hurried shots scattered around the ADVENT units, save for the unlucky soldier who was caught and torn up by Adrian's FN FAL. The other soldiers scattered, the MEC bounding forward and placing Overwatch, the Captain setting up behind a wall (High Cover), 3521 running behind a holo-ad (Low Cover). 5425 had started toward a trashbin, but was now on the ground, very dead.


AM-0013 places Overwatch.


The commlink opened hurriedly. "Watch out for that MEC! Intel reports it's got some kind of back-mounted grenade launcher in combination with its Gauss machine gun."


Edit: Forgot the one Overwatch- killed unit.

Adrian points at the MEC "Oh shit, is that a robot? Benedikt, blow it!"

Adrian points at the MEC "Oh shit, is that a robot? Benedikt, blow it!"

"BIG ROBOT GOES BOOM!" Benedikt fired a grenade at the MEC unit

 

[MrRifter]

Adrian pulls out his only grenade, pulls the pin and throws it at between the MEC and 3521, hoping it can damage both.

Benedikt and Adrian launched their explosives, one being a heavy 20x28 grenade and one an old F1 fragmentation grenade.


20x28- 3 Damage (1 Shred)


F1- 3 Damage (0 Shred)


MEC- 7 HP (2 Armor)


20x28 Overall Damage- 0 (Shredded 1 Armor)


F1 Overall Damage- 2 (-1, Armor)


MEC- 5 HP, 1 armor


3521 flattened against the ground, some shrapnel flying by his helmet. He leaned out of cover and fired off a few shots from his Gauss rifle.

The glowing red slugs slammed into the cover Benedikt took, but fortunately none connected.


The MEC, undaunted by the heavy damage it had taken, levelled its heavy gauss MG.

The huge mag-slugs punched through the cover, blowing it asunder. (Cover Removed). One heavy slug clipped Adrian's side.

"AW SHIT OW, OOOOW FUCKING XENOS" Adrian drags himself into another high cover, and then fires at the MEC.

 

[Ferociousfeind]

"MEHR GRANATEN GEHEN BOOM BOOM BOOM!"("more grenades go boom boom boom" in german) There's no stopping him now. Benedikt has gone berserk, and fires another grenade at the MEC unit.

Roman also fires on the mec, trying to bring down the robomination

 

[Obi-Wan Kenobi]

Nikolaj tries to ignore the gigantic mech tearing up the place in front of him, and instead focused his sights on the ADVENT Captain. Taking out the leadership was always a good idea, at least, that's what Nikolaj's training told him.

 

[Kalashnikova Squid]

The .416 round punched straight into the ADVENT Captain's head and it fell backwards behind its cover, mask of its helmet flying away, but whatever underneath obscured by the set of cover it hid behind.


Meanwhile, the MEC was systematically bombarded by a grenade set and a hit from Roman's pump-action.

The large white mecha staggered back, managing one more upwards glance- disturbingly human- at Roman before something within its torso exploded, and the machine fell backwards to move no more.


The last ADVENT trooper tapped the side of his helmet with his left hand and screamed something in the ADVENT language, and took a panicked pot shot at Nikolaj.


However, the red mag-slugs passed harmlessly by and impacted the walls far behind Nikolaj. The ADVENT trooper's gun clicked, and the black and red armored soldier hurriedly released the spent magazine and reached for a new one.

Benedikt took a shot at the last ADVENT soldier, with the rifle, that's enough grenades spent right now.
