The Ink Shop
To most this was just a house that sat on the top of a hill in the quiet suburb of the small town of Rockford in Maine. To mutants, this was a home that they could find a safe space in with fellow mutants. Opened in the early 1900's by a wealthy and brilliant man named Leonard Ackermann he had put word out through the mutant community. Being a mutant was still not accepted in society and most of the time deemed a mental or physical illness. Most mutants were either locked up in jail or psychwards, and very few actually are able to control their powers to make it in society. Ackermann opened the home in hopes that people could come there, be themselves, and work to control their powers.

Ackermann even works as lawyer to represent mutants in the courts, and instead of jailtime he 'convinces' the judge with the help of mental manipulation to send them to the boarding home for some time. Over the years he had opened a few houses across the country but the one in Maine remains the most popular of the homes. Under the eyes of the government these homes were used as boarding houses for wayward spirits. They didn't need to advertise 'home for mutants' and attract any unwanted attention from the government. There were forces within the government that monopolized the powers of mutants, and if they didn't comply they were disposed of.

Welcome to Ackermann's, kick back for a spell.

A normal day of living in Ackermann's was typically a busy one and this spring afternoon was no exception. From mutants leaving the home to newer mutants joining the home, to frequent flyers making yet another return to the home. Willow's responsibility was to oversee all of the house functions and all of the mutants inside of it to make sure everything remained calm, peaceful, and like a home. Unfortunately at times not all homes were peaceful. Certain people made the house far more lively than usual and two of those people were at the house currently. They even had a few new people, which was great! Willow loved having the place full, it made her mood a little lighter with all of the different energies flowing through the house. So long as everyone remained respectful things would remain peaceful and Willow wouldn't have to bother any of them. That's what the house was for, it was a safe space for people like them to get away from humans and the people that hunted the likes of them.

With a small yawn Willow finished putting the last of the snacks together for group tonight. Fruits, vegetables, plenty of cute hors d'oeuvres were on the menu for the day. The kitchen was available for everyone in the house but snacks were still a good option to have during the mandatory group sessions. That was the only requirement of anyone to stay in the house; once a week everyone gathered in the living room of the large Victorian home. They sit around the large open space and do their introductions, talk about why they were there, what their plans are for the future, and things they want to work on. That was once a week and one of the only requirements of staying in the house. That and, of course, no violence. Training was fine, sparring was okay, just no intentionally trying to cause harm onto one another. Pretty simple rules, ones you think would be easy to follow.

Guys, group starts in five minutes. Willow sent mental messages to everyone in the home before taking out all of the snacks to the wooden coffee table. While today appeared like it would be another normal day in the home she could also sense their impending visitors. The homes were well known throughout the mutant community, so whenever the government officials caught wind of them they always sent out a pair to investigate. That's why someone with powers like Ackermann was always placed in charge of the house, that way they can alter the minds of the agents into forgetting the house and what they've seen. The past two years it had been the same group visiting them. The 5'2" petite woman took a drink of her glass of water before smoothing out her tight black and white striped t-shirt. The shirt matched her black jeans and black wedges, her auburn wavy locks falling loosely down her back and shoulders.

A knock sounded from the front door and all she could do was let out a sigh. Here they were. She sat the water down on the table before making her way over to the door to open it, revealing the two people she had anticipated showing up. "Tae, Quinn, good to see you. What brings you to the neighborhood today?"

Quinn

"Think they'll come with us?" The 5'6" purple and teal haired woman asked the question to her partner, little did she know it was probably the tenth time asking him that question. Quinn and Tae had been partners for the last two years and had visited this home about ten times now, only they had no recollection of the visit. Each time they reported back to their superiors that it was a false lead and there was nothing suspicious of the home, that they had the wrong place. When, in reality, it was the woman of the house Willow that twisted their memory. If Quinn had found out she'd wring her pretty little neck. Today however Quinn was just as blissfully ignorant as she was each time as they approached the home.

Tae wasn't a horrible partner, but he wasn't her original partner. Tae enjoyed doing everything he was told and was eager to please their superiors, while Beckett always questioned what they were doing and why. Quinn was thankful for the life she had and the opportunity they were giving her to use her powers and pull more mutants into the safety of the government, but using her powers always meant that someone would die. At least Tae could intimidate and not actually hurt people, Quinn didn't have that luxury. One use of her power and life was snuffed out. Hopefully Tae and her could convince these mutants to come with them so things didn't have to turn into a fight.

Quinn straightened the mid thigh length pink dress she wore that showed off all of the ink on her arms and legs, her nails painted a bright purple to match her hair. A daisy headband was wrapped around her forehead and she had on some black combat boots to finish off her ensemble. "I mean, they'll come with us no matter what. They don't really have a choice, do they?" Quinn grinned slightly as they walked up the hill to the old Victorian home. Something about the house gave her a crazy dejavu feeling. They had never been here though, so she just shook it off as nothing. Maybe they'd been to a house like this before? Or, at least she could have been. Quinn had lost count of how many houses she had been to.

The young woman skipped up the stairs of the large porch before knocking loudly on the door. Surprisingly the door opened almost immediately, and even more surprisingly the petite woman addressed them as if she had known them. "Pardon? How do you know our names?" Her dark brows furrowed as she stared at the woman, though she quickly shook it off and shot a inquisitive look back at Tae. "We are here to talk, and I'm sure it's not a talk you'd like to have on the porch. Let's go inside, yeah?" Without waiting for an answer Quinn walked into the house past the auburn haired girl and gave a small look around. "I'd like anyone who lives here to come down, we really need to talk to them too. It's quite urgent."

Beckett

Most of the day Beckett had been working on his bike, tightening some bolts and replacing a few things here and there. For the past eight years Beckett had been traveling cross-country working as a mercenary on this bike and he loved it. It was the first time in his life where he was his own boss, he didn't need a partner and he didn't have to kill anyone. He understood some mutants like Quinn were dangerous and needed to be watched, but there was no reason regular mutants couldn't enjoy their lives. Beckett didn't need the government monitoring every move he made. The 6'3" male heaved a heavy sigh as he finished up putting some gel through his recently washed and dried dark brown hair, having to have showered to get the dirt and grease from the bike off of him.

Willow's voice echoed through his head and he couldn't help but roll his eyes. Group, what a joy. The house was full of familiar and new people and he was sure this would go over REAL well. Hell one of the girls didn't even speak, and she was expected to participate in group therapy? Besides, what more did Beckett need to talk about? He enjoyed his lifestyle and didn't want to change anything about it. He slowly slid his white tee shirt over his heavily tattooed chest followed by his leather black leather jacket to match his black jeans before leaving the bathroom. He just wanted this done and over with...at least Willow made decent food for participating.

By the time Beckett reached the bottom of the staircase there were two new faces in the entryway with her. When Beckett recognized the pierced and tatted girl the color drained from his face and he felt like he was going to vomit. Quinn, his old partner of over ten years, was standing there with Willow. There was a blue haired guy there with her and he could only assume that he was her new partner, though that wasn't his main concern. Why were they here? Were they here for everyone or just Beckett? But then he heard her speak. They wanted to speak to everyone, and that was when they were going to give everyone the join them or die spiel. Quinn was just in a dress and looked like she was ready for a fight, there was no way he'd be able to physically restrain her. Maybe Willow could put her in a mental lock...

"We aren't buying what you're selling, you know where the door is. See yourself out." With that said Beckett walked right into the living room in hopes that Quinn didn't recognize him. He tossed a few bites of salami into his mouth and chewed anxiously as he waited for the pair to leave. Suddenly group didn't seem so bad.

Dexter

"Thanks, see you later!" With a small grin and wave Dexter left the old German chocolate shop that used to be the best place to get chocolate. It was group therapy day and Dexter always tried to bring some sort of goodies from the past to lighten the mood, especially since there were new people. The six foot tall man held the bag in his hand as he waltzed into a nearby alley, making sure no one was around before he snapped his fingers and opened a portal in the side of a building. The portal was spinning and on the other side he could see Willow talking to a few new people. Quickly he stepped through the portal and grinned as he appeared near the staircase, the portal disappearing behind him as he was through. "Hey! New people? I brought some special chocolate home!"

Dexter waved to Quinn and Tae before moving into the living room to see Beckett munching on some of the snacks already. "We've got a full house today, don't we?" Dexter grinned before setting down the two chocolate boxes, his large pale hand running through his messy blonde hair. Dexter dressed in a white button down shirt with a bright blue bowtie and black slacks, having bright blue gauges in his ears to match the tie and big black rimmed glasses. He sat back on one of the large plush couches and looked at the time. Everyone should be gathering soon for group.

For the past few months Dexter hadn't been in the house; he'd been jumping through the years and having a great time. From the old west to ancient Greece, to old Italy he was enjoying it all. He missed familiar faces though so he decided to return to Ackermann's house for a few short weeks since they were really the only family he had left. That he could find, anyway. He didn't know where his parents were or what time they were in, but his grandparents always told him that was probably best for his safety. Dexter probably wouldn't be acting so casual if he knew that the two in the other room with Willow were the government agents he'd been avoiding for years.

Jayne Wilson

Jay wasn’t extremely thrilled to be back at the house once again, she had to admit it had a sense of home for her at this point but being anywhere for too long made her jumpy. Over the years the girl had gotten a lot of attention from various law enforcement agencies due to the use of her powers to commit various petty crimes but this last time was the worst. She had put a guard to sleep in a government mutant holding facility to do something to help out her old housemates. Jay never found out if any of them actually got out after she pressed the button to open the gates, she ran off too fast, she wasn’t one for sentimentally. But because of the heat she was back at Ackermanns and under their protection once more, and if all she had to do for that safety net was endure Willow’s stupid group therapy then she would do so. Speaking of, it must be getting close to that time.

Almost on cue the woman’s voice entered her head and Jay threw her head back in a groan before climbing out of her bed. She dug in the small duffel bag beside the bed and pulled out her favorite hoodie. It was giant and reached her knees, ratty and tie died poorly but it had been with her for years and she liked it. Under it she wore a pair of black bike shorts and pulled some thick wool socks over her feet. Her neon peach hair was half down and half up with the top in a messy bun. Once dressed she headed out to the hallway and made her way down the stairs, stopping halfway when she noticed two strangers that Willow was talking to. Beckett was there as well being annoying and moody as usual but his response to the visitors made a troublesome twinkle light in her eye as she bounced down the rest of the stairs to the room group was held in.

“Woah woah woah B, why are you so sour today? What happened to everyone’s favorite little angst machine huh? You know those freaks or something?” Jay chuckled as she entered the room and found her way instantly to the food, making a little cracker sandwich and taking a bite as Dexter joined them. Dexter didn’t annoy her much, he was overly nice and everything but he made up for it by bringing really good snacks. “Ooo Dex, what did you bring us all this time?”

Camille Devereau

“Caspar, Caspar… Cas!” Cami started at a small whisper as she tried to gently wake her brother from his nap in the room they currently shared at Ackermanns, but as usual he was dead to the world and she had to resort to a yell. The boy jumped a bit as he woke and she rolled her eyes slightly before tapping her head as Willow’s message finished up. Outside the closed door she could hear members of the house slowly making their way to the weekly group session they held as a rule of the house. Cami hated it so far but… maybe it would grow on her. Group sessions didn’t work well when she was too afraid to speak to the others so a lot of the time she just awkwardly held her little whiteboard Willow had given her and nodded.

The twins had only been at the house for about two weeks and most of their time was spent to themselves despite Caspar’s attempts to make friends. She couldn’t help but feel bad, like she was holding him back but… she just still didn’t feel confident enough to control her powers and didn’t trust herself to not slip up again. The intense emotions she felt that day were likely the reason her powers activated and keeping her thoughts to herself and her mouth shut was working keeping them at bay. So that’s what she did.

“We should head downstairs. Get dressed.” Cami turned away from the bed and grabbed her whiteboard from the desk in the room along with a green expo marker. Today Cami paired her excellent white board accessory with a large black sweater and a pair of loose cuffed linen pants. On her feet she wore plain black Toms and her hair was left in French braids. “Come on.”

Cami opened the door and could hear a small commotion at the bottom of the stairs and peered down them as she waited for her brother. Two people she didn’t recognize but instantly didn’t like were at the door demanding for the people in the house to talk to them. It put her nerves instantly on edge. As soon as Caspar joined her she clutched onto his sleeve and the two made their way downstairs with Cami keeping her head down as they passed the strangers and entered the group room. A lot of the others were already there and Cami felt herself calm slightly at the vaguely familiar people.

Cami found her way to a seat on the couch, perching herself in a corner and resting her whiteboard in her lap.

tae.//

“No.” Tae spoke bluntly as he straightened out his dress shirt, giving his partner a slightly annoyed glance as she spoke. “Do I think this house of mutants built specifically to evade us will chose to give in and go peacefully? Hah. No.” Tae was blunt, cocky and honestly kind of a jerk. “But it doesn’t matter, because if they don’t come with us, we won’t have to worry about them anymore anyways.” He flashed the purple haired woman a large sharp toothed grin and smoothed his cerulean hair back as they climbed the stairs to the house. Tae was much different from his partner, his outfit today was built to get a job done not for looking cute. It was a black button up and black slacks with his badge attached to his pocket. He also had a much more bleak outlook on the job they did. She hoped for the best and honestly Tae didn’t see the point in trying to save anyone… if they wanted to join they should just do it. If they had to be convinced they weren’t worth the time.

The door opened as Quinn went to knock and Tae raised his brow as he looked over the woman who spoke to them. She was oddly familiar but he couldn’t place why. “It’s Ackermanns Quinn, as much intel as we have I’m sure they have some of their own.” He followed his partners steps and entered the home without invite, taking a look around the large house as Quinn spoke to Willow and whoever else would listen. Quite a few different mutants were coming down the steps and heading into a room nearby the front entrance and Tae leaned to peer around Willow and Quinn. “Some sort of meeting?” A man came down the stairs and basically told Tae and Quinn off in a small amount of words and then soon after another man came through a portal smiling and welcoming them. “Quite a cast you got here.”

Tae stepped further into the house and finally let his eyes land on Willow. They were dangerous, bloodthirsty slits on top of ocean blue that stared at her as his lips curved into a smirk. “You know why we’re here. But this meeting your having is quite intriguing… maybe we should join and we can talk to all your little friends in there?”

Caspar Devereau

In his dream Caspar could hear a voice start to break through, something about time? He couldn’t quite tell but then he heard his name once, twice and then a third time loudly, causing him to spring up from the bed with a yelp. “Jesus Cami!” He clutched his hand to his chest and took a few deep breaths to calm himself down. His twin was normally so quite that at this point loud noises at all nearly scared the life out of him sometimes. She pointed to her head and he raised a brow before what was happening clicked. Ah, that voice must have been Willow about group. He was still getting used to the whole telepath thing, hell he was getting used to this whole mutant thing. The twins had been on their own most of the time, rarely interacting with other mutants until now. They didn’t know how many different types were out there and now they were in a house with who knows how many amazing abilities!

Caspar had a much brighter outlook on life than his sister, what happened was a tragedy yes but a mistake as well. They needed to embrace what happened to them and what they were otherwise mistakes would continue to happen… plus if things ever got too bad… they had Caspars power, though they still didn’t know much about it.

“Yeah yeah, worry about yourself.” Caspar got out of bed and grabbed a navy blue hoodie to pull on over the white t shirt and grey basketball shorts he had fallen asleep in. On his feet he quickly slid on a pair of slides before shaking out his bed head and following Cami into the hallway.

Something seemed off a bit as they made their way downstairs and as Caspar eyed the newcomers he knew why. At first he thought they were just more people looking to live here but the badge on the tall man’s side and the way the woman was talking made it abundantly clear they were from the government. Cami clutched onto his arm and he finished the rest of the way down the steps with his eyes fixed on anywhere but the agents. Willow seemed to be acting polite and calm so he chose to follow suit but… it was still eerie seeing them here.

As soon as they entered the room for group Cami broke free and went to her hiding spot in the corner causing Caspar to sigh. “Hey guys.” A few of the others were around the food already and Caspar moved to join them, eyeing the bag in the man with glasses hands curiously. “Dexter right? You time travel for the snacks you bring I heard. That’s really cool of you man.” Caspar gave a bit of an awkward smile before glancing over at Cami, “She thinks it’s cool too but she won’t ever say it. Uh anyways… do you guys know what’s up with the two talking to Willow?”

Willow Kim

"No, that's fine. Come on in." Willow let out a small sigh and rolled her eyes, the door shutting as Tae and Quinn welcomed themselves into the house. As they did everyone from the house joined them before walking into the living room, Beckett immediately being hostile and of course Dexter immediately being as welcoming as ever. As much as Willow tried not to dig around in peoples heads Beckett was a regular, she knew that he used to work for the same agency that Tae and Quinn worked for. That was years ago, but maybe he recognized one of them? "It's a support group meeting. We do it weekly, we try to figure out where to go from here and what to do. Eat some snacks. Try to just relax and get to know each other a little better. No one can support a mutant better than a mutant can."

Something about Tae's look was...chilling was probably the most fitting word. From what she could see in his immediate thoughts she knew he was just as dangerous, if not more, than Quinn. He reminded her of a shark hunting its prey and she wished she had time to pick his brain a little bit more. Then he spoke and she found the perfect opportunity to dive deeper into their heads. After all, every time they were here they were straight to the point and very aggressive, she had no real time to look too much in their heads. "Oh, you wish to join this time huh? That's a new one." Willow's lips turned up into a mischievous smirk before she gave a small nod. "Unexpected from you, but okay. You have to sit and be on your best behavior, and you have to participate. After everyone is done THEN you can give your announcement. And if you try anything you'll regret it. Just know that this isn't your first visit and most likely won't be your last." Tae may have thought he was dangerous and he probably was, but Willow could be just as dangerous and she wasn't afraid of him.

"Well? Let's go meet everyone." With that said Willow brushed past Tae and moved into the living room. "Everyone, we have some new guests. They're going to participate in our group today. Afterwards they want to talk to everyone, and then I'll send them on their way." The others could possibly get mad at her when they find out who the pair was, but Willow had always protected the house members and today was no different. The best way to protect yourself from the enemy was to know your enemy. "I'll start! My name is Willow and I was born with my super mentality powers. Ackermann took me under his wing ten years ago and I've been working with him ever since. I hope to continue to run the house in the future and follow in his footsteps, and I hope to be able to help more people in tough situations."

Quinn

Quinn didn't like killing people. It was the requirement for her job and she would do it if it was absolutely necessary, but the thrill Tae got out of it was not what Quinn wanted. Ultimately she wanted other mutants to feel safe and comfortable like she did under the safety of the government! Maybe it was the trauma of her parents killing her, or the trauma of waking up and killing everyone that touched her, but if the government knew what your power was then they worked to adjust your lifestyle to that power. She didn't feel like a freak, she just knew she had to be extra cautious because of the things she could do.

Tae looked like he was studying each of the mutants in the house already as they confronted Willow. He said she had intel but, for some reason, she really didn't quite buy that. Everything in the house seemed super familiar. Then there was the tattooed male that came barreling down the stairs basically telling them where the door was and she felt her heart drop. She knew that voice from anywhere; it was her ex partner who defected from the government. It made her completely forget why she was there for a moment, thankfully Tae was dealing with Willow. Her eyes followed Beckett into the other room before Dexter appeared through a portal and greeted them.

Suddenly Tae was volunteering them to join the group and Willow was surprisingly on board. She was welcoming them into the living room with her with a few warnings in addition to participating in the group. "We might as well play her game for a bit, right?" Quinn smiled over at Tae as Willow challenged him before moving into the living room after Willow, eager to find out why and how Beckett found his way here. Quinn sat in a lone chair so that she wouldn't touch anybody on accident, her eyes glancing from person to person in the room. Everyone here had a story and she wanted to know why each of them came to Ackermann's, and how she could convince them to come with her. Ackermann could only keep them for so long, right?

Willow did her introduction and the next person in the circle was Quinn. That meant she had to go next right? "Oh, I'm Quinn. I acquired death touch when I was resuscitated at 7 years old. I'm here for work, I hope at least a few of you join us, and I hope that everything goes smoothly today?" Quinn gave a small shrug as she looked over at Willow. Did she do that right?

Beckett

As everyone gathered into the room, more specifically Jay, Beckett gave a heavy eye roll. "You're just as comical as ever. Yes, I know one of the two. She's not on a team that's friendly. It's basically we do what she says or-" Just as Beckett expected Willow to show the pair the door she seemed to welcome them both into the living room, apparently to join their little group therapy session. His words trailed off as he stared at the two behind her. Send them on their way, huh? She seemed rather confident in herself, and given her years here it must not have been her first run around with the likes of them. "Just don't let your guard down around them, okay? Especially the girl." Beckett quietly spoke to the others before taking his seat with a heavy sigh.

And so it began. Beckett snacked on the goodies and the chocolates as Willow started off the group session. By now most of them were used to Willow's story, so he really tuned in when Quinn spoke up. Very Quinn, very straight to the point. She had even laid it all out into the open that she had death touch, something he was sure would strike some fear into the others. For some reason though Tae looked even more intimidating than Quinn did, but he just assumed that it was because he knew Quinn as a person. She truly wanted things to go over smoothly, she truly thought that the government made things easier for people like them. Maybe she didn't see all the human experimentation the scientists were doing. Beckett was one of those experiments though, and he'd rather be dead than join them once more.

"I go by Beckett Slade, though who knows if that's really my name. I'm a specialized shapeshifter, scientists have alter my genetic coding to where I can use each limb as a weapon. I left my job with the government years ago; Quinn and I actually used to work together before I left. Now I pretty much travel cross country on my bike doing odd jobs for people in the mutant community. Occasionally I'll take a job for a normal person, but it depends on the situation. I plan on continuing to live like I do, and I have no intentions on becoming a science experiment once again." Beckett tossed another piece of chocolate in his mouth before he crossed his arms and settled back into his seat.

Dexter

"Chocolates from Germany, one of the most popular ones in history. Nothing beats their old fashioned chocolates. Next time I was thinking of bringing a wide assortment of Asian candies, they're quite popular I hear." Dexter couldn't help but smile as Jay and Beckett entered the room. Like Dexter they were frequent flyers; Beckett crashed whenever he was in town and Jay usually only stayed there when she had a run in with the law and Ackermann was getting her out of trouble, though whatever got her there wasn't his business. They all had their history and their problems, you couldn't be a mutant in todays society without causing some trouble. Dexter merely didn't exist most of the time in modern times and that seemed to keep a lot of heat off of his back, save for the occasional trip to one of his banks in which his parents and grandparents had money tucked away for him in. That's what allowed Dexter to live life worry free, there would never be a need for Dexter to work a day in his life. He was incredibly grateful and tried to spend his money on the others even if it was just to brighten their days.

Soon enough Caspar and Cami were joining the group. The pair were new faces to Dexter and he knew most of the mutants that joined the house so that meant either two things to Dexter; one, they were new to their powers or two, they've known for a while but got mixed up in the law and put in Ackermann's for a cooldown period. They seemed like they were new to the whole mutant situation though, but it wasn't Dexter's place to say or question anything. Life was hard enough without everyone trying to interrogate you. Cami looked especially shy, skittish, and frightened. He took note of the whiteboard, and the fact that Caspar was speaking for the pair. "Oh, yeah! I'm not good for much but I love to bring back souvenir's from the past. As long as its not anything that will alter history it's pretty much fair game." Dexter shone a cheerful grin over to Cami. "If you have any requests just let me know, okay? I can be back before you even notice I'm gone. Kind of the nice thing about being able to time travel and teleport." He wanted to inquire about their powers but he refrained. He'd find out soon enough.

"They look not friendly, but we've had a few of those frequent the home. Either way I know Willow will make sure we're not in danger. She's odd like Ackermann but I always know we're in good hands, he wouldn't leave the house under the protection of someone who couldn't protect us. I've known her for the last ten years and she's always taken real good care of all of us." Just as he said that Willow and the two new folk had join them. Willow started off group like usual and then the new joined joined in. What she called her powers, death touch, it sent a chill down Dexter's whole body. She didn't seem to elaborate but, honestly, did she need to? It was self explanatory. Obviously she was here with her partner(?) on a mission, and it seemed Willow knew of their mission. She must have had some hidden intention on letting them in on group therapy. What took Dexter even more by surprise was the fact that Beckett used to work with the death touch lady!

"Hard to follow that up, thanks Becks." Dexter gave a nervous chuckle before clearing his throat. "Uhh, the name is Dexter. I was born to a time traveler and a teleporter. They thought I'd only have one of their powers but, to everyone's surprise, I inherited both of their powers. I spend most days hopping through time and it really doesn't get old. My parents disappeared when I was young and my grandparents passed away a few years ago so I don't have many ties left to modern times, but Ackermann's always feels like a family to me so I know I'm always welcomed here. My goals are, like always, to make friends and ties to people in todays day and age. Maybe to even find my parents, but I don't know if I'll ever find them."

Jayne Wilson

“I’m fucking hilarious, thank you for finally admitting it to yourself B.” Jay spoke with a mouthful of food as Beckett finished speaking. She had heard his story a few times now over their frequent run ins at the house so she had to assume that when Beckett claimed the woman wasn’t playing for the good guys she must be someone he knew from his time with the government. Her eyes drifted over to the opening of the den to where she could see a sliver of the three people at the door but tore her attention away and back to the people in front of her. Jay didn’t want to admit she was a bit nervous about the strangers so instead she chose to focus in on the candy Dexter spoke of. “I knew I always liked you Dex, you’re way too nice for this world but hey everyone had their flaws. But I’ll overlook yours if you keep bringing us snacks.” She winked and patted his shoulder before plucking a chocolate and turning back towards the door as she felt a shift in the mood. Willow was bringing those people in here?! Besides her Beckett spoke lowly and caused Jay to shudder a bit. Not much rattled her anymore but… anything to do with the government or law enforcement was NOT her thing.

Willow started group and Jay found herself plopping into a seat on the couch, trying to not stare at the two new comers but occasionally catching her eyes drift. The woman went after Willow, her name was Quinn and her ability was called death touch which sounded so fucking cool but Jay had to remind herself that it was indeed NOT cool because this woman was a government agent. After her some of the others went, including Beckett and Dexter and then once a lull hit Jay decided it was her turn.

“Alrighty folks.” Jay didn’t stand but just adjusted in her seat to sit up a bit more as she spoke. “My name is Jay Wilson, I don’t have a fun name for my abilities but I can put people to sleep and alter dreams through physical touch. I am here because I don’t think mutants belong in jail cells and decided that I could easily fix that because security guards are stupid. Uh….” She paused and thought for a minute before continuing, “I’ve been “helping” myself and other mutants avoid arrest for a while now, I guess I would say that’s what I want to keep doing when I leave? I mean I’ve been doing this since I was 9, I don’t really got anything else going on. So yeah. That.” She stopped and slumped back into her seat before grabbing another piece of lunch meat and stacking it on a cracker. “Next?”

As others filed in the room, Cami found herself getting smaller and smaller in the place she took on the couch. At one point Dexter shot her a polite smile as he stood talking to Caspar and the others but all Cami could do was a small nod and a tiny smile in response. She didn’t like how terrified she got around people other than her own brother, that she was like this and hadn’t gotten better in the last ten years. She wanted to make friends and be social and stop being such a freak but her own mind wouldn’t let her. It was like her subconscious trapped her in her own body after what she did and honestly she deserved it. Across the room she could barely make out what the others were talking about, it seemed to be about those strangers at the door and it didn’t seem like the others sounded thrilled about them either.

As soon as that thought came, Willow was entering the den with the two strangers and Cami felt even more small than she had before, hell at this point she was basically sitting INSIDE the damn couch with how far back she has pressed herself into the cushion. Everyone got settled and Willow started the meeting like she normally did and soon enough everyone was slowly taking their turns. She felt her eyes bulge out of her head at the mention of death touch and then once more when Beckett said he used to work with these people. Dexter's powers sounded nice… much better than hers… he didn’t hurt people with his. Jays we’re also interesting, she could just easily avoid using them it seemed but didn’t… Cami wished she could trust herself not to use her powers but… clearly that wasn’t the case. Everyone grew silent and Cami shifted uncomfortably, her eyes drifting to her brother next to her, hoping he would start but only being met with a cocky grin and him staring back at her. Dick.

Cami shifted forward and started writing quickly and sloppily on her white board. It read ; “Camille Devereau, call me Cami : ]. I have poison breath. Caspar is my brother and he can tell you more. Thanks! : ]” with that she flipped up the board and slowly moved it around the room so everyone could see before placing it back in her lap and aggressively elbowing her brother in the side with a glare.

Caspar always thought he was going to be able to trick Cami into talking in the situations, said he didn’t understand how she could handle all that writing but again, it’s not like she wanted to! She HAD to!

Caspar Devereau

Caspar nodded as Dexter explained his snack ritual for the house and couldn't help but smile a little bit, it was a cool power and a really nice thing to do for everyone. "Oh I wouldn't open the door to take requests from that one, she'll take advantage for sure. Though if you want to ignore her its really easy because you can just look away from the whiteboard." He chuckled and threw a smirk back at his sister who was glaring at him from the couch. He simply rolled his eyes and turned back to the others as Beckett began to talk about the two people at the door with Willow, however he quickly dropped his voice to barely above a whisper when Willow entered the room with the man and woman and announced that the others would be joining them for their little group session in the den. Beckett's warning made Caspar a bit more alert in the situation. He didn't know this place as well as the others and as much as he wanted to trust that Willow knew what was best for the house and everyone in it, he had to admit it was worrisome to have these people here with them and to listen to their secrets.

Caspar made his way to the seating area and took the spot next to Cami as the meeting began. Willow opened up and Caspar found himself listening to everyone intently. This was their first group meeting in the house and honestly one of the first times they had ever spoken to other mutants at length, or knowingly. Despite living with their powers since they were 18, both of the siblings were very uneducated about not only their own powers but the entire mutant community in whole. One by one the were sharing and Caspar felt conflicted listening to Quinn. She said join us so nonchalantly. From the very small view of the world that Caspar had even he knew that the agents who worked in the mutant division did awful things to their own kind. People treated mutants like second rate citizens and forced them to live in hiding but then to use other mutants to scare them into submission? Disgusting.

Eventually it became Cami's turn and despite her best efforts to make Caspar speak for the both of them, he refused and simply stared at her. She needed to start coming out of her shell and he was hoping that being here would start that process. She wrote a quick snippet on her board before tossing an elbow into Caspar's side and causing him to grunt then chuckle a bit from the look on her face. "Okay okay. Jeesh." Caspar stood and pushed back his wavy brown locks before speaking. "So yeah that is Cami, she is my twin sister, and I am Caspar. The two of us don't really know anything about mutants, we didn't even realize I had abilities for a long time after they appeared. The two of us got our abilities in an incident when we were 18, uhm...." He let his voice trail off as he glanced down at Cami, they had never really spoken about the incident with anyone but each other and Willow in private. "Cami had her emotions end up manifesting into toxicity because they were so strong. Like she said she can breathe poison. That day mine manifested too but we didn't know until later. Willow said my ability is like nullifying? I can cancel out other mutants powers. I cant take them and use them or anything but if I focus hard enough I can cancel out a radius of abilities based on the amount of mutants around me... if that makes sense. I still don't fully understand it either. But that's why both of us are here, we need to know more about how to live this life."

Something was off about this place, Willows words made him narrow his eyes at her slightly and cross his arms across his chest. She spoke like she had met them before and that they had gone through all this … quickly his thoughts went to wondering if there was a mutant in the house that could alter memories but even if there was there was no way to know and no way to stay away from it. That just meant that they had to make sure this time was the last visit they needed to have, they had to be successful. Ackermanns was a giant threat to their world, they empowered and helped the mutants and made them believe they were able to be free. That just wasn’t the way the world worked, and it probably never would. Things needed order and mutants were just too much of a wildcard. There were stories all the time of mutants who’s powers run rampant and out of control or of mutants who don’t know their own power and kill people. Their freedom equaled countless deaths, that’s why they needed order. And Tae wasn’t scared to be one of the agents that kept it.

Tae kept a few steps behind Willow as he and Quinn spoke before entering the room. “Yeah and I got a feeling we will be able to make a better game plan after hearing more about the mutants here. The only ones we have any intel on are Beckett and Willow, the others are all mysteries.” He shut his mouth as the entered the room and he took a quick scan of all the people here. There wasn’t many, which was good, and at first glance none of them seemed like anything too scary or hard to handle.

The room seemed to settle as Willow began speaking and Tae found himself leaning against a wall in the back with his arms crossed over his chest as the meeting went on. He couldn’t help but scoff at Becketts introduction and roll his eyes as Quinn gave away too much information. A few others spoke after the two of them, a time traveler, a girl who could mess with dreams, poison and most interesting of all was a young man who could neutralize mutant abilities. Thankfully the last two didn’t seem like much of a threat and seemed more scared and confused than anything. It got to the point where it seemed Tae was the last person to speak and he simply waved his hand slightly with a straight face. “My name is Tae, that’s all you need to know. We’re just here on business but it’s nice to meet you all.”

Willow Kim

It was nice to see everyone participate in the group. Well, save for Tae, but she knew he wouldn't participate. She didn't need him to, she had enough time to to dig around in his head and find out his powers. He physically could overpower most of them save for Beckett, so she was thankful that Beckett was on their side. Caspar could nullify his powers but he couldn't really control his powers too well, they couldn't quite count on them yet. "Thanks for joining group today everyone I really appreciate it-" Suddenly Willow froze. There was a shift in the air and she could hear thoughts that weren't in the house, thoughts that had ill intentions and aimed to harm the people of the house. "Everyone I need you to evacuate to the basement." As soon as Willow stood up something broke the glass and she quickly stopped it midair with her telekinetic ability, though she knew she couldn't keep it there. She tossed the object into the next room and as it entered she felt the house shake as the bomb exploded.

"Basement, now!" Suddenly there were bombs shattering glass everywhere in the house before exploding, molotovs setting the home on fire. In the basement there was a safe room that had a tunnel that led down to the pier to a boat that could house several people. It was an emergency route to safety and this was definitely an emergency. Willow started to throw bombs back out of the window towards whoever was flinging them into the house as she started to lead everyone towards the basement. "Tae, Quinn, you guys need to come with us too to get to safety!" However, once she moved where Tae was standing to grab him and drag him with her a stray bomb exploded right in front of them before she could toss it back. The explosion blew Willow back into the wall and she smashed her head against the hard brick. For a moment the world around her went black and she forgot what was happening around them.

By the time she came to it seemed like the bombs quit flying in. The house was on fire and crumbling, they needed to get to the safe room as fast as possible before the house came down on them. "Is...everyone okay?" Slowly Willow stood to her feet and tried her best to assess their situations. "Let's uh, get to the basement." Her vision was so fuzzy but she couldn't let anyone know that. Thankfully everything around them was cloudy and smoky so it wouldn't be just her having a difficult time seeing.

Quinn

When everyone had introduced themselves Quinn felt a little heartbroken. It seemed none of them really desired to go with them, and what killed Quinn was when they had to either take them by force or to actually kill them. Tae had no problem with doing the latter but Quinn did, which was ironic given her power. Despite their mutations they were still people that deserved options in life. The government was just a way Quinn was kept safe. Out in the real world there would be no chance she would survive. Some of these people seemed harmless, the only one that seemed like they could pose a great danger was the poison breathing girl. She had a twin though and she was sure the girl didn't want to leave her twin.

Tae's introduction was more than she even expected from him and she knew that he was probably cursing her out in his head for the things she said. Beckett knew who she was though and had probably warned everyone about her, there was no reason to hide anything. Just as Willow was about to talk further she could see that something was happening, though she couldn't say what. Suddenly she was talking about everyone going to the basement and it really confused Quinn. They hadn't started fighting yet! But then it happened. A grenade was being thrown in the window and, thankfully, Willow was throwing it out of the room they were in. Panic shot through her body as she quickly stood up and looked around for an escape route. The only people that would attack Ackermann's with weapons was the government, but that really didn't make any sense to her. Tae and Quinn were already here, that's what they were there for! They hadn't informed Quinn at all about an attack and she was sure Tae was just as unaware. Usually Quinn was the one playing around with the explosives and came up with tactical plans for attacks, this she had no part of.

The old brick Victorian home shook with every explosion and Quinn was powerless to do anything about it, all she could do was stand and struggle to keep her balance with each explosion. There wasn't much Quinn could do to help anyone either; if she touched anyone to support them and touched their skin they'd drop dead. So Quinn did what she could to block the grenades coming in. Quickly she flipped over the coffee table and moved it towards the window, propping it against the glass to hopefully deflect some of the grenades.

Eventually the explosions stopped and she was able to turn around to take in all the damage. The room was filled with dust and smoke, the walls had holes and them and it felt like the house could come down on them at any moment. The first person she noticed was Willow standing from the ground and all of the blood where her head must have met the wall. It wasn't her place to make sure she was okay though, and she wasn't even able to properly assess her. Quinn wasn't good with first aide. "Basement, right. Let's get out of here before the building falls on top of us." Even if they didn't want Tae and Quinn to escape with them she just wanted to make sure that they got away safe. Unfortunately Quinn didn't know where the basement was. "And uh, where is the basement?"

Beckett

When the grenades started flying in and exploding it was like one of Beckett's flashbacks. Whenever the government needed to get their hands dirty they sent in Beckett and Quinn, and most of the time there was bloodshed and explosions. Beckett had never been on the other end of the explosions though and it was quite honestly terrifying. Willow seemed to be the only one able to counter the incoming grenades and for once Beckett felt useless. He jumped to his feet as soon as Quinn started to move the coffee table in order to help her but froze when a grenade landed in front of him and Jayne. Without much time to react Beckett found his arms shifting into a large dome to shield them from the explosion.

After the explosions settled his arms morphed back into their original form, though shrapnel was embedded into his skin. His deep gray eyes looked around, squinting to see past the smoke and dust. Willow was standing from the ground, the walls and ceiling were crumbling, and most everything was on fire. If they left they'd have to face whoever was attacking them and it was clear they were prepared to kill them. Willow mentioned the basement and he did recall the escape route down there and he gave a small nod. "Right, we can assess everyone's situations once we're out of the fire. Let's go."

Beckett moved through the living room and towards the staircase. Everything around them was falling apart and the stairs looked like they had seen better days, but they didn't have another option. Quickly he moved down the creaking stairs, holding his sleeve up to his nose to try and block the smoke from getting into his lungs. He had been in most rooms of the basement save for one and that was the one he assumed to be the safe room. Quickly he opened the door and walked inside, noting all of the first aid supplies, the water and the food. It was like a bomb shelter so he was hoping they'd be safe there until they could get everyone fixed up enough for travel. Thankfully Beckett was fairly knowledgeable on patching up wounds. "Okay who all is hurt?"

Dexter

Never before had Dexter had a run in with the government. From what his grandparents had told him his parents were high on their list of mutants they wanted to recruit, hence why his parents had been on the run since Dexter was young. Dexter maintained a low profile and didn't make waves in todays day and age just to avoid them. He never thought they would resort to killing them all via grenades though. Willow was doing a great job at lobbing the grenades out of the way but there was just so many of them! They flew in from every window of the first floor and Dexter jumped to his feet to try and evacuate everyone to the basement. That proved to be too difficult during the explosions though, and before he knew it a grenade flew directly towards him and the twins. "Shit!" Dexter quickly grabbed the sleeves of the two of them and they fell through a teleporting hole in the floor right before the bomb exploded.

They fell from the ceiling and onto the couch, the bomb already exploding in the corner of where they previously were. Beckett had made a dome around him and Jayne, Quinn had blockaded one of the windows, and it seemed like something happened to Willow. There was a lot of blood but she didn't seem to acknowledge it, she was more focused on getting them all to safety. He agreed that was important but they really needed to tend to any wounds anyone had. "Sorry about grabbing you guys, I just didn't want anyone to blow up." Dexter gave the twins an apologetic smile before heading after Beckett. Thankfully the stairs were in somewhat decent shape and they were able to move downstairs to the bomb shelter.

"I'm good, didn't you get some wounds from blocking that explosion though? Do you want us to patch you up before we go?" In reality Dexter could teleport them all somewhere but he had never moved more than himself a far distance. He'd be willing to try but he wanted to wait until it was completely necessary. Ackermann's had an escape route they could use, and if that route was for some reason blocked off then he'd move everyone. He had no clue where they were all going to go though. He knew Quinn and Tae were part of the government but it didn't seem like they knew what would happen, it didn't seem like the government cared if they were blown up along with them. It was good if they got away from all of this mess and evaluated their situation, preferably somewhere where the building wasn't on fire or falling down on them.

Jayne Wilson

After her own little introduction Jay had to admit she kind of zoned out for a while, she wasn’t interested in making friends here, it wouldn’t be long until she was out on the road again by herself. When the twins chimes in she felt herself pay a bit more attention, she kind of wondered what their story was seeing as how the girl didn’t talk, wasn’t sure if it was something to do with her ability or not … seemed like she was just shy. Or traumatized. They continued on like that for a while and after everyone spoke Jay was preparing to head back to get some more snacks when she noticed Willow acting strange. She had started telling everyone to go to the basement and Jay looked at her like she was crazy, that is until the first grenade came through the window.

Normally Jays flight or fight instincts were heavily weighted to flight, there wasn’t a single time she didn’t trust herself to be able to escape a situation but right now she was just too stunned to do anything. Not only were their bombs, but with Willow telling her one thing but her brain telling her another she seemed to falter for a moment. Her first instinct was to take off towards the kitchen out the back and into the woods, alone. It was safer alone, she could do what she needed to survive without worrying about others but… Willow had done so much for her and everyone else here, it felt so wrong to just run. Her few milliseconds if doubt were enough time for the situation to get even more wild and before she knew it the place was up in flames and explosions were occurring randomly around the house. At first it was so chaotic that she didn’t notice the grenade that landed right in front of her until suddenly it was gone from her vision and replaced with nothing but shiny metal.

Jay turned quickly and found Beckett had used his ability to protect the two of them and honestly she was impressed, when she heard about his mutation her brain never would have thought of… this. “T-thank you B.” It was probably the nicest thing she had ever said to the guy since they met but even she had the ability to give credit when credit was due. “I-yeah. Just thanks.” After a while, it was likely seconds but it felt like hours, the sounds outside the dome Beckett created quieted down and eventually his arms reverted to normal and they found themselves standing in the ruined den. Despite all the damage around them Jay herself seemed completely untouched. Beckett however had taken a lot of damage to his arms from protecting the two of them but before she could say anything the others were all saying to head to the basement and they could assess from there.

At this point there was no other choice for her than to head down to the safe room with the others, though she was NOT thrilled about the two government agents that were joining them down there. It’s not like they weee the ones who attacked, honestly they could have been seriously injured as well but… they’re still agents. They quickly made their way into the basement room filled with all sorts of supplies and once again Jay couldn’t believe how amazing this place was. Again she was definitely more of a lone wolf but… she was thankful that Willow let this be Jays safe space when things got too bad.

“You are.” Jay said with a scoff as Beckett asked who was injured. “Willow looks rough too, Dexter you and the twins good? You guys look okay…” She didn’t even bother glancing at Quinn because as awful as it was she didn’t care. “Quinn if you or your partner need first aid feel free to grab some. No offense but… we probably should not touch you. Where is your partner anyways?” She glanced back for half a second before once again deciding she didn’t care and grabbing a box of gauze off the shelf and some alcohol. There was bandages and tweezers in a random drawer which she grabbed as well before laying it all out on a table.

“I can handle the superficial shit, and if anyone has any broken bones but, that’s about all I got. Dexter you’re smart right? You’ve seen a lot of shit, our friend Willow isn’t looking too hot. Or one of you two?” Jay eyed the twins quickly, “Anyone a secret doctor and doesn’t want to share?” After instructing the others to handle Willow she turned back to Beckett who she was sure was going to say he actually WAS a secret doctor and could help or some other stupid bullshit. “You can’t help her until you’re not bleeding all over the fucking place. The last thing you need to give her is some lab rat blood disease now sit.”

Jay made quick work of removing the pieces that stuck out of his skin, cleaning them off with alcohol both before and after extraction before wrapping them with gauze and rolls of bandage. “Willow bud? How you doing? Going to need you in tip top shape to get us out of here.” Jay simply yelled over her shoulder as she worked on the last few pieces of debris before finally calling it quits. “Some of those will need to be stitched later but now we don’t have the time.”

Camille Devereau

Cami wasn’t thrilled with how much information her brother shared with the group but she supposed they couldn’t help it. She was thankful he chose to leave out some of the more gruesome details but still she could feel herself getting more and more upset by the second. As others went forward introducing herself she focused more and more on keeping herself calm, avoiding thoughts of the day that plagued her so badly. It wasn’t until Willow was telling everyone to head to the basement that she was able to yank herself free of her own intrusive thoughts and pay attention to the others around her. What was happening? She turned to look at her brother but then the sound of breaking glass caused her to turn towards the wall instead. Whatever had been thrown through the window was hovering in the air in front of Willow, presumably stopped using her powers. She moved it away from the group and shortly after an explosion sounded that caused Cami to let out a small yelp. What the hell was going on?

Soon all hell was breaking loose and the house looked like a war zone. Cami was finding it hard to do anything but cower in her spot on the couch until suddenly she was being grabbed and the world was moving around her. At first she wasn’t sure what had happened, it was all so quick, but when things calmed and she found herself opposite where she had just been with Dexter clutching onto her sleeve she came to the conclusion that he had also used his powers to help them out. He apologized for grabbing them and she fiercely shook her head and tried her best to give him a smile that conveyed her thanks.

Everyone was alive it seemed but the house looked like it was going to crumble at any moment. There was fire everywhere and Cami could feel her throat burning in a fashion that was far too familiar for comfort. Honestly she was having a hard time deciding if it was her powers acting up or pain from all the smoke inhalation. She turned to the side and covered her mouth with her hands so no one else would see her and let out a long breath, sure enough she could see the beginning of toxic green vapors forming in the air that escaped. “Shit.” She huffed before turning back to the others to find them all making their way to the basement. Her eyes found Caspar’s and she waved him to go along with the others before making her way to the top of the stairs and standing on the first few down while waiting for everyone else to head to the safe room. Once everyone was down and safely out of the way she returned to the top of the steps and just began blowing around the room, green vapors filled the air and danced around with the flames until soon the entire front entrance was filled with either smoke or poison. After Cami finally felt like she had stopped she took in a deep breath and quickly made her way down the steps and into the safe room.

“They can’t come inside for a while now…” Cami spoke softly, hoping no one really heard her but her brother who was standing near the door as well. Jayne seemed to be working on fixing up Beckett while yelling at Dexter and her brother about helping Willow. Cami reached over and nudged Caspar, he wanted to be a doctor at one point. “Go on then.”

tae.//

It took Tae entirely too long to realize what was going on, his brain couldn't even begin to fathom that the house would be attacked while they were in it. The only people with means and reason to attack this place would have been the government but Tae and Quinn were here! Why would they need to attack, especially when the two of them had only been here maybe thirty minutes. His mind went straight to what Willow had said earlier... maybe they had been here much longer than thirty minutes. Maybe not this time but... times before.

The situation was getting worse by the moment and Tae found himself completely ignoring the fire fight and clicking the small button on his earpiece, normally on the other end he would have a mission overseer to offer any assistance he or Quinn may need but instead of the voice of another agent he was simply met with the sound of static. "Shit!" Tae ripped the piece out of his ear and threw it into the fires roaring around the house. As he did he heard Willow yell for them to go to the basement with them and move towards him. Before he could tell her that she could fuck off, he was met with an insane amount of heat and force from a grenade that had gone off near their feet.

Tae wasn't sure what happened after that, he was so out of it and his body felt both hot and cold. He could feel that his body went into survival mode, his mutation taking over a bit and slowing his heart rate and using his shark genes to vastly improve not only his healing rate but also his general strength and endurance. By the time he peeled himself off the floor he realized he was the last one besides the girl who had introduced herself with a whiteboard who was standing near what he had to assume was the top of the stairs. His legs were a bit wobbly and he could feel that he was covered in burns and cuts, but what was most concerning was the fact that he could tell his left arm was completely unusable, dislocated, broken, bleeding. "Fuck."

Tae slowly made his way down the stairs to the basement, stopping to peer behind him and watching as the small girl filled the room they had just been in with poison before she stopped and made her way down to the safe room as well. Once inside Tae used his foot to kick the door shut and let out a pained grunt. "The girl slowed down the agents but if they want down here theyll figure it out." He found a wall and leaned against it with another grunt, using the wall to support his weight as he took in a deep breath. He could normally smell how many people were nearby, better if they were injured but between all the blood in this room and the smoke upstairs he was getting nothing. "Id say we have ten minutes tops to have a plan."

Caspar Devereau

“Cami come on.” Down in the basement after all of the chaos Caspar found himself leaning out the door of the safe room and yelling for his sister to hurry it up. He has caught her look of desperation and heard her small voice tell him to go downstairs and knew what she meant. But he also didn’t like how long she was taking to do it. Despite the twins being mutants for so long now neither had great control of their powers. Camis reacted heavily to her emotional state and once she started she didn’t know how to stop. A few times she tried to swallow it down or hold it in her mouth but they found that led to her blistering and burning up her mouth and the insides of her cheeks badly. Her powers didn’t affect her or her skin at all unless highly concentrated… so she had to let it out somehow. As he waited for her he watched as the others filled into the room the last two being Cami followed by a really bad looking Tae who booted the door shut behind him.

In the small room Jay was yelling at Dexter and the twins to help Willow which gained him another ushering from his sister to do something. “M-me?! Cami I haven’t wanted to be a doctor since we were like six years old. And even if I still did it’s not like we ever went to college or anything. What do you want me to do?!” He looked around at the others and let out a huff. “Really truly I can put a bandaid on. Willow is a doctor right? I mean , just tell us what you need us to do and we can do it. Because Jay is right we need you to get us out of this mess.” He looked over at Willow as he spoke, she didn’t look bad but he could tell something was off with the way she was looking around the room.

Tae spoke up and said they likely only had ten minutes before they would be in risk of attack again and they clearly were not in fighting shape. “Cami, Quinn can you two start getting some supplies in bags please? Let the rest of us focus on getting the three of the injured travel ready and you guys just make sure we don’t starve within 24 hours.” He turned and looked back at Willow before glancing at Tae against the wall. “Unlike Jay I have a heart and will help him out Quinn so don’t worry about it.”
