Multiple Settings A world of magic, creativity, adventure, and romance

Elayne Beaulieu was born in a little town in France. She was the first child of her two loving parents Zach and Madeline Beaulieu. Her parents were both from pure bloodlines of witches and wizards and it was only natural that she was one as well. Her father was from France and her mother was from England, changed her name when she married Zach, and so Elayne spoke both English and French fluently from the time she was in diapers. She went to her first year in a school for young witches, an all girls academe, when she was eleven. She went to school there until she was fifteen. When she was fifteen, the summer before her fifth year, her parents got in an accident when they were coming home from getting her younger brother. The car flipped and the top was crushed, killing everyone inside almost instantaneously. She’d been at home humming to her favorite songs and studying her magic, wanting to be one of the best in her class, when the phone rang. She’d answered and at first nothing they said made any sense. It was the hospital calling to ask for next of kin for her brother. The house phone was used as one of his emergency contacts. When things started to come together she found it hard to hear a word they were saying. It was like she was underwater and everything was muffled. She dropped the phone and it hung by its cord from the wall. She stood there for a while trying to process. She only came out of it when there was a knock on the door. She’d been standing there for an hour and she didn’t even know it. The hospital had given up on getting her to answer them and had given the police a tip on where to go to find surviving family. It wasn’t unnatural for someone to go into shock and it was obvious by the far away look on her face when she answered the door that she was still in shock. Her fathers family was elderly and not willing to have a teen under their care. Her mother had an older uncle, Elayne’s great uncle, who was willing to take her.
He lived in England and owned the best and only wand shop in England. To the regular folk he owned a book shop on tax papers. Everything was a blur to her, going from sitting on her couch while the police moved around her family home... to having everything she owned or her family owned that she couldn’t part with packed and shipped with her to England... it all just... felt so unreal. She found herself sitting in a room above the wand shop in the hidden business section of England’s Wizard world.... surrounded by boxes and suitcases and... completely lost. Not a word had really gotten through to her yet. She’d been like this for four days. Summer was ending and school would be starting soon, her uncle was beginning to worry she’d never come out of this state. Talking to her, touching her, trying to get her to look at him, it was like she wasn’t there. Day five she finally broke into tears and everything she wasn’t feeling came crashing down.
Classes for England’s magical population start around August 20th and go through until June. There are breaks that the students can go home for but they mostly stay in the dorms on campus. Elayne had two weeks to get herself together before she’d be boarding a train for school. Her uncle got around most her school supplies for her and all she had to do was stop being an emotional wreck. She at least needed to look put together. By the end of the first week she was eating regularly again and taking care of her basic needs. By half way through the second she was managing to put herself together and wear a believable smile. By the day she was to board the train she was a perfect picture of a teen girl. Even if she was a mess inside. She had her hair curled beautifully and her makeup done softly in a very pretty natural way. She wore a light brown suede jacket over a white tshirt with a pair of cute skinny dark wash jeans. She had matching suede boots to go with her jacket. She smiled without fail as she loaded her luggage and then got onto the train. She chose an empty compartment and did her best to ignore the stares and whispers about her being new.
(Inspired by JK Rollings work. I don’t want to be confined by sticking strictly to her works though and want to create original characters, ideas, and places. Looking for a male character for a romantic touch to this role play. Want some adventure and action as well.)
