A Wild Hair (ft. Jaspar & Iris)

RubyRose

Ace Character - Final 4

Scenario: Jaspar is having a 'hair beauty' day and Iris just happens to run across him.
Time: Mid afternoon a random weekend that the gangs aren't doing anything.
Location: Red Rose District - in a hair product store

/monthly_2016_12/large.jpe.7c41a2c360cdadb8456208f8355dee18.jpeIt didn't happen often, didn't even come around once a month, but every now and then Jaspar had a day that was all about taking care of his hair. It was like Christmas for him. At least a Christmas that came around more then once a year where he pampers himself. He had a hair appointment for later that day, and was currently looking through the isles of hair products. They all had fancy names and labels but Jaspar knew what he was looking for. Pausing to read a bottle that caught his interest, his hair fell over his shoulder in a long golden curtain. Being in Rose District, Jaspar decided to where a dark green turtleneck with black slacks to not advertise just where he was from.

Tucking his hair behind his ear, he returned the bottle that was not quite good enough for use on his hair he moved onto the next isle. He was, of course, looking for his usual brand of hair products but that was in the women's section (to his annoyance) and he always gave the men's hair product section a chance first. But they just weren't good enough for him; they never were. How could you trust something that was said to wash both body and hair? Having to multitask like that, obviously it only did a 'mediocre' job of washing his hair and body but not a stellar job an 'only shampoo' would do. And unlike other men, Jaspar cared greatly about whether his hair was only fairly clean or perfectly clean.

Chicken...peaches....toothpaste....peaches....honey Buddha chips....peaches....soda....peaches... The second in command mentally read through the shopping list Remiel had prepared for her. A curtain of gloom spread over her. Doesn't he think too much about peaches.....Letting out a small sigh she continued through the aisles in hot pursuit. There were plenty of sales going on today, and she wasn't going to let things come down to the last box of peaches. She would rather not duel a granny like last time. Successfully tossing several boxes of the sweet spheres into her cart, she mentally checked peaches off the list. Ah, what was next? Shampoo. She began steering her cart in the direction of the bath aisle. There was some sense in shopping at Red Rose District. The sales were always better, and it seemed sometimes the products were as well. At least, regarding peaches anyways.

The day should have been like all the other shopping trips. Casual. Without incident. Yet, the moment Iris set foot in the bath aisle, she found her eyes fixated on a beautiful figure. Like a deer in front of headlights, her eyes widened. What was this intoxicating sight you might ask? A girl's long, long golden locks. Prompting herself to move, Iris scuttled the cart closer, keeping at a safe enough distance to seem nonchalant. She watched as the girl moved to turn a bottle over in her hand.....and that was when Iris was mentally slapped in the face. It wasn't a girl at all....but a man! Feeling herself blush slightly with embarrassment, she mentally cursed herself. Gaping at someone's hair....a man's no less?!

She had to admit,  although every female cobra's hair was very fine and glorious, she found herself less attracted to men's locks. Men hair wasn't terrible, but normally the women had more to show for their efforts of keeping their hair hydrated and shiny. Before this moment, the only guy's hair Iris had been truly impressed by was Audence's. He seemed to take care of the fluff quite well. Sometimes she found it easier to stare knowing he probably had a 50/50 chance of actually seeing her through it. But perhaps she admired his hair because it was the first guy's hair she actually touched.

BUT THIS, THIS FINE CREATURE BEFORE HER. He took the cake and ate it too. She slowly pulled out her phone and tapped along the dimmed screen. Among all her virtual notes on members, she kept a beautiful hair ranking system. Adding this mysterious man to the top of the list, she slipped the phone back into her pocket. She wore gray shorts along with a dark orange hoodie. Closer. She had to get closer. The rest of the shopping list was left to naught as she left her cart to step along side the mysterious man. Pretending to gaze upon the selection of shampoos, she snuck glances from the corner of her eye. Perhaps this situation wouldn't be that bad. If she weren't in the men's shampoo section. Well, she was buying for someone else anyways. Not that she was really paying attention to that anymore.

Well, one other person to be specific. Though he felt eyes on him, being a man with long hair he was kind of used to it. People were often trying to figure out if he was a guy or a girl but he wasn't going to give them the satisfaction of caring. Flipping his hair over his shoulder... because even Jaspar (or perhaps especially Jaspar) couldn't help messing with his own hair.. Jaspar turned to head to the women's section. "Oh, pardon me." Jaspar muttered, brushing past Iris (though he quite nearly collided with her). Checking his watch and seeing his appointment wasn't too far away, he decided to just go straight to his trusted brand and head out with that purchase.

Though the bottle Jaspar grabbed was bright pink and quite flowery, he took no shame in buying it. Granted, he didn't keep it in that bottle when he got home. He put it into a much less feminine body to keep the less then masculine product hidden from his father. Still, while he was in the store he didn't care what people thought. Most of them thought he was a woman anyway (At least the people that only saw him from the back). Standing in line, Jaspar took a moment to trail his fingers through his golden locks and gaze at the split ends that had begun to torture him for the last week. He couldn't stand split ends and took great measures to get rid of them when he noticed.

Iris watched as the man hastily made past her. He seemed to be on a mission and barely noticed her at all. She had all the intention of simply watching his golden locks leave her sight and continue on with the day, already pleased to have set eyes on such godly hair. However, as the figure passed by, a slight strand of hair grazed her shoulder, causing the second in command to shiver instinctively. Yes, she was that sensitive to touch. There was nothing she didn't feel. Damn those dust particles. It was a good thing she wasn't a germaphobe. Her body tensing, it dawned on her in the worst...yet best of ways. Seeing wasn't enough. She had to....had to feel those lushes strands flowing through her finger tips. But how?

Stalking the man, she watched as he checked out with a fairly feminine bottle. Ah...so that is his secret. Men's shampoo really doesn't compare huh? She remembered him checking his watch earlier. Did he have somewhere important to be? Well, whatever it was, she would be finding out soon enough. It had already been decided, that even if this took all day, she would have her moment. It appeared Iris did have a selfish side to her after all~

A soft breeze blew strands of hair out behind Jaspar and he made sure to head into that breeze so that his 'windswept' hair would continue to keep a fairly orderly look. Luckily for him, the direction the wind was blowing from was also the direction he needed to go. He glanced up at the salon for a moment, checking himself out in the window and preening before he headed inside. It was a good day today and there would be no getting around just how good it was. Hair care days were always the best. Kind of like a spa day; Jaspar always felt relaxed and comfortable afterwards.

Checking in with the woman at the front desk, Jaspar was asked to wait in the lobby. The place was set up where the front desk was the first thing when you walked in, the lobby was a small circle of chairs to the left and the hair stylists were in a section to the right. Taking a seat in one of the chairs, Jaspar picked up a magazine and idly read through it; not entirely interested in what it had to say but wanting to keep his mind somewhat occupied.

Stalking was not out of the ordinary. In fact, it was quite a ninja-like thing to do. So Iris would be stalking this man today without any regrets. Abandoning her daily duties, she stealthily followed the man out of the store and up to a rather fancy salon. So, this is where he was headed. Shit....what now? Would this be the end of her trial? No. Iris did not fail. Taking a few steps off to the side of the salon she gazed around for something useful. Several minutes passed until her eyes met what she was looking for. A shiny name-tag glistened off of a girl making her way around towards the back entrance of the salon. Narrowing her eyes, she made her way towards the back, watching the girl carefully. A normal ninja would probably be able to swiftly press a pressure point in their victim to soundlessly knock them out. But because of Iris's condition, she had to rely on her chi more often than not. Blowing a colorless cloud of poison towards the girl, the girl hesitated as she reached out towards the door handle. Suddenly she buckled and collapsed to the floor. Yes! Iris mentally cheered. One obstacle down!

The sleeping poison would wear off in an hour or so she figured. But she couldn't simply leave a body laying around. Dead or alive, it would raise suspicion. Removing the name tag from the girl's shirt and placing it upon herself, she cautiously took hold of the thin fabric, dragging the body off to the side and behind some bushes. Now, it was her time to shine. She would be playing the role of Kelsi Dyer.

Stepping into the salon, her nose was met with a sweet scent. Most hair salons were almost toxic with all the hair product floating around. However, this salon was different. Very pleasing. Iris felt eyes dig into her, and finally one of the cosmetologists called over to her, "What's this? You don't look like Kelsi." Without faltering, Iris replied smoothly, "She didn't tell you? She was throwing up buckets this morning, so I'm filling in for her. I've filled in before." The woman speaking to her didn't seem to be a manager. So it would be easy to bullshit her way through this. With a bit of a disgusted look, the woman shivered. Probably from the thought of being that sick. "Whatever. I guess you know what to do then." Iris glanced around until she spotted the man in the lobby area. Aha! It really is him....hue hue hue....Iris evilly chuckled quietly to herself. Moving towards the front, she offered her warmest smile.  "Sir, I'll be taking care of you now." Ah. A smiling Iris was a rarity indeed. She then lead him to the shampooing center, where the second obstacle would begin....right. She had no idea what she was actually doing. @RubyRose

He returned her warm smile with a slightly more reserved one of his own. "I hope so; you look new here so I'll warn you that I'm very particular about my hair. You won't last long here if you don't take good care of it." He said, tone just this side of Snobby. Like most tigers, and most rich people in general, he had the habit of looking down his nose at people even when they were taller then him. People just weren't as good as he was and it was as simple as that. And just look at her hair. It was obvious she at least cared for it, but it was obvious she didn't put the hours into it as he did. Then again, that was most people.

"Today is a regular wash, with the special conditioner and then just the barest trims of the tips. I take it you can handle that?" He said, taking a seat at the hair washing center. He carefully collected his hair and let it slip into the sink before leaning back and looking up at the girl, Kelsi, expectantly. "You probably don't know who I am... My names Jaspar. I'm one of the most important customers here though I never get a hair cut nor do I ever get it colored. You'd do well to remember the name." It was spoken in a lofty manner, but it almost was like he wasn't being condescending on purpose.

Sure, his hair was even more beautiful up close. But his attitude was as prickly as ever. This man...Jasper he called himself, couldn't possibly be from the North District could he? But the more she pondered the thought, the more it gained credit. There was no doubt. A man with this much tude, must unmistakably be from North district. What if he were a White Tiger? The possibility was sickening. She would assume otherwise. No. Her idol could not be a Tiger. She wouldn't condone it. His beautiful appearance was enough for her to wave off the snobby tone of his.

Watching the lushes threads of hair sitting in the sink, she almost couldn't bring herself to touch it. Reaching forward, Iris filled her hands with the hair. Letting out a surprise gasp, her eyes glazed over. One could only dream of having hair this soft. A regular wash he had said. Right. She could manage that, couldn't she? Reaching above her, she took one of the shampoos and began lathering it up. She was in heaven. She was so sure sparkles were radiating off of her right now. Not only was she touching this glorious hair, but she was washing it too!! What an honor! Rinsing his hair with the utmost care, she glanced back up at the shelf in hopes to find the special conditioner Jasper had mentioned. Her eyes grazed upon a bottle way in the back. Seeing the words -Special Conditioner- along the side she grabbed it. With velvet hair like this, she wouldn't mind being this man's personal servant if it meant being able to wash his hair.

Squeezing the bottle over the hair, she continued to zone out. It wasn't often Iris was in such a trance. But when she was, anything and everything else ceased to exist, just for a few moments. And this moment she wished could last forever. Bringing her attention back to the sink, she frowned slightly. That's weird....I thought it was odd for the conditioner to be so oddly colored. But I figured it was the effects of it being special. It's not washing out easily....She began rinsing again, more thoroughly this time. But the color would not leave. Grabbing the bottle again, her heart stopped. Turning the bottle in her hand, she read the full print. -Ultra Fast Hair Dye, now infused with Special Conditioner!-  And on the back of the bottle, -Tired of waiting for dyed hair? Now you don't have to! With our new formula, all you have to do is lather and let sit for one minute, rinse, and you are set to go!-

Iris almost dropped the bottle out of pure shock. She quickly wrapped his hair up in a towel. Oh....Oh no.....Where Iris personally didn't find his hair any less beautiful, she was quite sure he would not be pleased with...hot pink hair. "Never dyed your hair huh?" She decided to pick up on his comment from earlier. "You know....the edgy style is very in these days. Very in." She kept her voice calm as she ushered him over to one of the other chairs. When all she wanted to do was shatter into a million pieces. @RubyRose

He felt he could trust them entirely and so he allowed himself to relax. It was something he rarely ever did but he gave it to himself this time, taking a deep breath and releasing it slowly as the girl worked shampoo into his hair, took great care in rinsing it, and then applied shampoo. She did a wonderful job working her fingers through his hair without snagging. It actually felt really good and since today had gone so well he was considering being very generous with his tip just as long as the trim went well too. What was her name again? I may need to special request her after this, if she continues to work her fingers as well as she has. Getting up once his hair was properly wrapped, he followed her to the hair cutting area, so that it could be nicely trimmed. Feeling more at ease, his smile was more real this time.

"I'm happy enough with my own hair color to desire anything else. Besides, dying your hair is unhealthy for it and I prefer to take the absolute best care of my hair." He said, taking a seat and sitting back. Jaspar allowed his eyes to slip closed once more, a small smile in place. "Now if you could just trim the very tips. Nor more then a millimeter if you can." He said with an eased tone, eyes still closed as he enjoyed this one luxury day he took for himself on the rare occasion he had the time to do so.

Jasper's now pleasant tone only made Iris's heart beat faster, and not in the good way. If only she had been more attentive. This is what hair did to her. Clearly being around such heavenly hair was far too distracting for her. Mentally cursing herself, she turned the chair away from the mirror as she found the pair of scissors along the table. She was glad that it wasn't completely out of the ordinary to face a client away from the mirror before a hair cut or trim. It was all about the big reveal, and was this one going to be a big one! A before and after, where the client would gape in awe at the miraculous transformation they didn't see coming. Iris had only been to the salon once or twice before, so she remembered the gist of things.

Placing a cape over him, she clipped it around his neck. She placed her hands over the towel, removing it slowly, mentally crying as his hair brightened up the room. "You just relax..." She even rubbed his temples through the towel she was holding. No matter how beautiful, she couldn't bring herself to touch the man directly. And, she did just as he said, trimming no more than a millimeter. Iris was actually fairly gifted in cutting hair. She always cut and styled her own hair, as well as some of the other cobra members from time to time. It was an excuse to touch hair no doubt. After she was done, she bit her bottom lip. 3....compure. 2....composure. 1....com....com....There was no way out of this. Taking his hair in her hands once more she brought it up to her cheek, the velvet strands kissing her softly. Until we meet again. And she made off like a  true ninja, never looking back. All the while mentally mumbling sorry over and over. @RubyRose

/monthly_2016_12/1bdd36c31f6bec3a60558b7c095112d1.jpg.340a0d20fdf6dfaf78bba7104c177853.jpgIt truly wasn't difficult to listen to the woman's request to relax. Especially with the gentle massage to his temples. Yeah, he was definitely requesting her next time. He was pretty certain no one had ever treated his hair this preciously besides himself. And he would know; he was usually complaining about hands being too rough or not thorough enough. It was so hard to find someone who appreciated his hair through touch. When the sound of steps retreating sounded near him, his eyes fluttered open and he watched the woman retreat, wondering where she was going before he noticed a few strands of hair dangling over one shoulder.

Heart beginning to pound erratically in his chest, he turned slowly towards the mirror and just about burst into tears at what he saw. He stared for several long, terrible moments, blinking his eyes over and over in the hopes that something was wrong with his sight. Or perhaps that this was all a bad dream. But no, his hair was pink. His hair was Hot Pink. He tugged the abomination of color over his shoulder to examine more closely, hands shaking with distress as he gazed at the strands of his hair. His lovely, perfect, badly colored hair. Anxiety crushed him and he went into a full blown, can't breathe panic attacks. The salon ended up having to call an ambulance and for the next week Jaspar was put on suicide watch because of his terrible response to having no easy fix to get his hair back to normal. His father offered to cut it all off which had Jaspar screaming like a lunatic not to touch his hair, pink or not.

Another week later and Jaspar had a special shampoo that washed the pink out slowly, but surely, without seriously damaging his hair. And a new face at the top of his 'you are going to die' lists after discovering that the name the woman wore had not been her own. On the bright side, Jaspar's family was so much richer thanks to the lawsuit his father was able to place thanks to the salon's mistake of not seeing an imposter in their midst. Still, Jaspar has made it his personal mission to hunt down the woman who had died his hair pink and pay her back for every ounce of misery and distress she had caused him.
