Eimhin

Considering the fact that a castle should be one of the most well secured places in the entire kingdom, it was surprisingly easy to sneak in to. Eimhin was going along with what had to be one of the most fun plans her long-time friend had come up with. It had been five years now since Chu-si's mother was killed by these people living such nice lives locked away in their castle. Pretending everything was so bright, without a care in the world. They really had no idea what was coming. A soft purr of excitement left Eimhin's lips as she glanced down the hallway they were in currently, The mask she wore did herself justice she thought, given how she was a pard; the ears represented her feline side while the beautiful lace design represented her stripes and spots along her fur. Plus it was comfortable and she always wore it whenever she went out. Her attire was all black, sleek and form-fitting against her body. Eimhin never bothered with wearing armor or anything of the like since all it did was weigh her down. Her speed and agility were some of her best traits when it came to fighting so the less she had to wear, the better.

The hall they were in was empty, lined with doors that likely led to empty rooms or another hall that connected on the other side. Castles really were terrible places to live because of their size and unnecessary space. It was only irritating because she and Chu-Si had been here for a little while now trying to get to the room they needed to be in. The room with the child of the murderers. They were almost there though, Eimhin could smell it in the air that they were going close. She had stalked one of the maids once not too long ago when the woman was getting rid of clothes for the child; Eimhin had grabbed one with a strong smell on it just so that way she could track down the brat easier. Babysitting wasn't really something she wanted to do but the reward for it would be worth it. A glance over her shoulder just to make sure the other woman was still near was given before Eimhin bolted down the hallway. She stayed low and silent even as she ran, not even her boots made noise against the floor. Only when they reached the next intersection did she stop again, and all too quickly did a grin form on her lips.

"We're here." Eimhin purred to the other woman and sort of rolled off of the wall to skip the rest of the way down the narrow one to the right. There was only a single door on this one and the sound of a woman singing on the other side. Eimhin's fingers went up to her lips as if to shush Chu-Shi before she opened the door and stealthily walked inside. The child was asleep on the small bed on the far right wall, his messy blonde hair a given that he was indeed the one they were after. Only one maid was in the room and she was singing softly to the child. More than likely she just got the boy to fall asleep but that'd be fixed pretty quickly. The maid didn't notice Eimhin sneaking up on her until the very last moment; the feline extended the claws in one of her hands and slashed the maid's throat from behind. There were some gurgled noises mixed with the gasp of surprise but all in all, it was still fairly quiet. "Huh." Eimhin hummed softly, one of her legs kicking upward to stop the body from hitting the ground with a thud. It was instead gently placed down while her golden eyes were slit like a cat's would be in the light. For a few seconds, she did nothing but stare curiously at the body until eventually she shrugged her shoulders.

"Chuuuu-siiii." The feline called out in a sing-song manner as she turned to the door. "Come on and play!" Her voice still remained quiet so as to not disturb the sleeping boy but she had to admit, she was having a lot of fun tonight.

Chu~Si

Five years had gone by and revenge was going to taste so sweet. The take down of her mother was all that every witch could talk about. The sisters and their dribbling, foolish and meddlesome men they clung to were famous. The magic community practically worshiped them from ridding them of the grand evil witch. The four didn’t even care as they had gone back to their old lives, leaving Chu~Si without a mother, not that the woman ever done anything maternally for her children. Yes, there were quite a few of them, and all had different fathers. None of her siblings she thought of as family and there was no love for any of them. If this plan succeeded, which it was going swimmingly, they had skipped merrily inside the castle undetected with ease, but if everything went according to plan the great and powerful Lilith would be in debt to Eimhin and her. There was already a large list created in ways they could be paid back.

Green eyes glowed in the dimly lit halls and she watched her friend up ahead. Body heat radiated off her friend and glowed a bright yellow and orange, making her a glowing beacon and easy to follow. Her fingers lightly skimmed against the walls as she made her way down the halls. Her happiness couldn’t be contained and she grinned from ear to ear as they navigated the castle. There was such poor security measure taken, especially for the child that would one day most likely be king she thought to herself as they closed in on the child’s room. Eimhin went inside first and the blonde paused mid-way through the doorway and leaned back to check that no one had followed. All the fun was missed out as she could have sworn she saw a bit of movement, but nothing came of it.

“You already killed our play toy.” There was a playful pout that turned into a smirk as she watched the pool of blood grow larger. The two of them stuck out like sore thumbs, clearly not belonging in the castle. There was nothing but foliage covering up Chu~Si’s private parts, leaving the majority of her body exposed. There was dry dirty all over that traveled up her legs and arms, and she was bare foot. Not very proper at all. “Look at the handsome little boy.” Chu~Si draped her arms over her friend’s shoulders and hugged her from behind, like they were a loving couple checking in on their child. The little tyke was still out and that is how she wanted it to stay until they were beyond the castle’ walls.

Carefully, the little boy was scooped up in her arms and he nuzzled right into the nook of her neck, not even aware he was in the arms of a stranger. “Aw, makes me almost want to keep him as a pet.” There was no way that was going to happen, but she couldn’t that she didn’t like him snuggling. Chu~Si carefully stepped closer for her friend to get a better look when the door creaked open and a blonde stood in the doorway, Princess Kendra. The scene caused all the color to drain from her face and turn her practically in to a ghost as she looked from the dead maid quickly back to her son.

“Give me my son.” Kendra growled, promptly moving in to take him back. There was a displeased sigh as now the plan wasn’t going to go as smoothly as before, now that the princess walked in on them. Thick long talons came out of the tip of Chu~Si’s fingers with a sticky substance on them, not that the princess knew what was coming, the other woman was faster. A gasp escaped from the immense sudden pain that was coming from her torso. Chu~Si had driven her talons that were covered in a neuron toxin right up underneath the Kendra’s rib cage. It wouldn’t kill her only paralyze her in a matter of seconds. Well if nobody found her in time she could bleed out, but that was a happy thought. “Liam.” If only she could get him out of the woman’s arms, but her body wouldn’t listen. The twist of pain and confusion on the princess was fun to watch as she struggled to even keep upright before crumpling to the ground.

The little boy’s head rose, all the commotion getting him to stir. A high pitch screech came out of the child the instant his mother came into view, helpless down on the ground. “M-mama” he began to cry, squirming and fighting his hardest to get out of Chu~Si’s arms.

“Liam.” There was panic in Kendra’s voice as she looked up at her son in the stranger’s arm, not sure what the two had planned for him.

“Time to go.” she groaned, knowing now that they were very well going to get noticed. Leave her alive. I want her to experience losing a loved one.” There was a twisted smirk on the woman’s face before she started heading for the door, the fighting child being hugged tightly to contain him.

“GUARDS.”

The scream was loud and at the same time all the water in the castle began burst into the air, Kendra’s emotions getting the better of her. It was enough to get Chu~Si to turn around in fear, if the other woman started using her powers they could very well get caught. “Shut her up.” she barked, wishing that the venom would keep her victims quiet.

Eimhin

"Oh, my bad." Eimhin pretended to have a sad, disappointed look in herself for a moment before giggling softly. Her attention moved over to the boy when he was mentioned and a soft hum left her lips. She leaned back slightly into her friend's touch as her eyes stayed locked on the boy. "He's cute, I guess. For a human child." Her shoulders shrugged since she definitely wasn't a kid person. So when Chu~Si went to pick up the brat, she stayed back and twirled around a little bit. Almost like she was dancing to a tune, one that was in her head only of course. She might have been having a little too much fun because she didn't hear the door open. The moment she heard the princess' voice, she whirled to face the blonde in a crouched position. Her eyes slit once again and a grin grew on her face, her fangs peeking through her lips. This certainly wasn't part of the plan but Eimhin couldn't say she didn't like the way things were turning out.

"Now, now, little princess. Best you stay down while you can. We wouldn't want something to happen to you too....actually, no. I really do want something to happen to you. Go ahead, act out. Get your cute little baby boy from us. If you can." There was a sinister tone to the feline's voice that appeared between her giggles. The fact that Chu~Si had gotten to stick her with her claws made a temporary pout grow on her lips but it was for the best she supposed. They did need to leave the castle sooner rather than later to not get caught by the guard. The brat waking caused an irritated growl to leave her lips before the feline ignored both the brat and the princess altogether. She spun on her heel, ignoring the child's screams as she figured they could just shut him up too if he continued. What she hadn't expected -which truthfully she should have- was the princess screaming for the guards. Eimhin clicked her tongue in annoyance before turning and rushing towards the princess even before Chu~Si spoke about shutting her up. "Nighty night now." Crouching low, Eimhin put her weight forward onto her hands and used the momentum to thrust her legs forward hard enough to kick Kendra hard enough to knock her out. Hopefully anyway.

Eimhin did a half flip so that she could hover over the princess, just to check her handy work and make sure she was really knocked out. The chance didn't last long though before the sound of metal clanking down the halls caught her ear. "They're coming." Eimhin's voice was surprisingly serious all of a sudden as she jumped to her feet to head to the door. Her head tilted slightly as she listened for a moment before shaking her head. "There's three of them. Wait here, I'll take care of it." Claws extended, Eimhin gave her friend a quick wink before she left the room stealthily to go and meet the knights before they got too close.

In the study, Tristan sat at his desk looking over some paperwork he had promised to take care of in the king's stead. Not because the king couldn't do it but because he had wanted Tristan to start getting used to such tasks for the day he and Kendra would take over the rule of the kingdom. It was...tedious and really boring honestly but he wasn't going to complain. It was far better than the work he would have had to do as duke, even if he didn't get as much time to help the people. Right as he was about to take a break, a knight came rushing in to the room breathless. "Are you-"

"My lord, it's...quickly, Sire. Something's happened, Princess Kendra-" the knight stopped when Tristan practically jumped to his feet the second her name was mentioned. Without even needing the full explanation, he bent to pick up his sword and made a motion for the knight to follow him. "We don't know how they got in but something was going on in your son's room. Princess Kendra called for us, I...I fear that someone may be trying to kidnap your child and-"

"Enough." Tristan growled out, now more annoyed than he had felt in a long time. How could this have happened? Things were going so well...maybe too well in fact. A soft curse left his lips before he turned a glare to the knight. "Gather Captain Alyn and his men. Tell him what's happened and tell him to make damn sure that nothing leaves this castle without coming through me first."

"What are you going to do, Sire?" The knight slowed down as he asked but Tristan didn't bother to answer. Instead, he quickened his pace until he was running down the hall. He was just praying he wasn't too late.

Another scream for the guards were let out before the swift kick came and knocked the princess out. The child instantly became violent, no longer just squirming, but hitting her with his little fist balled. The clinking of the guards’ armor could be heard coming down the hall and an irritated growl left her lips as this was no longer going to be easy, the castle would be on full alert now because of Kendra. The duo had a perfect way they worked together. Eimhin liked to play, just like a borde feline that had taken down their prey. The whole process her friend had was quite fun to watch and she didn’t mind letting her have all the fun. When Chu~Si got involved it was one lethal strike that would bring her prey down, no playing around. The child bit down on her arm and she gasped in surprise as she involuntarily dropped him. The bite mark was inspected before a glare was sent after the little boy, him running straight to his mother.

“I’ll meet you out there in a min.” she said with a small huff, not happy that she’d miss seeing her friend at work. One nail grew out long, the venom on it shined in the light and with a flick of her wrist she made a small cut on the back of his neck. The little boy was shaking his mother and begging her to wake up. There was bruise forming on her face where the foot made contact and her bottom lip had split open. Where she had dug her claws in was not bright red on her dress and it was slowly growing in size. “Serves you right, bitch.” she spat, picking the child up and carrying him on her shoulder. The venom went through his little body faster and almost instantly he had fallen over.

“Aw, I missed the show.” There was a pout on her face as she glanced over all the guards’ bodies and he friend’s handy work. “Nice.” she complimented, it clear in her voice that she was impressed. The smile that was on her face slowly faded as she could hear footsteps approaching and fast, but the clinking of armor couldn’t be heard. “Aw, well I’ll get to see the encore.” There was a twinkle of happiness in her eyes as she had an idea who was charging down the hall to the princess and her brat’s rescue and she was correct.

“Well, well look who made it to the party.” There was a sinister smirk on her face as she shifted and the little brat higher on to her shoulder. “How are you this evening, better than your wife I suppose.” A chuckle left her lips as she exchanged a look with her friend before turning her attention to the future king, well most likely not. When Lilith returned the four didn’t stand a chance.

Eimhin
35hrew6.jpg
Soft giggles left Eimhin's lips as she fought with the knights outside the room; well, truthfully it wasn't a fight and more her playing with them than anything else. They were far too sluggish and weak to be able to keep up with her. There was no sport in it but the feline couldn't help but to still have fun messing with them. One ended up being felled by another's own blade, and during the shock of it all Eimhin had dug her claws deep into him. With only one left, she crouched into a more feral-like position and shifted her feet back and forth like a cat that wanted to pounce. The knight grew more nervous by the second and by the time he couldn't stand it any longer was when she went for it. He lunged with his lance out of fear and she used the momentum of her position to jumped forward herself; it looked as though she climbed up the lance itself before she flipped and brought the man down with her. Another fast turn of her body and his neck snapped, causing him to grow limp in her arms. A bored expression crossed her face as she let go of the body, the metal clanking loudly against the floor. It was then that she heard Chu~Si's voice and a smidgen of a smile returned to her lips.

"Not nice." Eimhin pouted as she walked over to her friend, eyeing the now sleeping boy in her arm. "They were so boring, I didn't even get much of a chance to play with them." Even as she said that though, her eyes were turning to look down the hall and a growing smile was spreading on her lips. Now this was going to end up being fun, it had to be. "Oh dear, just look what the cat dragged in." Eimhin giggled softly when the would-be king to be slowed to a stop mere feet away from them; his sword was already drawn and at the ready and a fierce glare was on his face. "Is the king to be supposed to look so scary? I thought he was supposed to be kind and loving to his people." Her own words echoed after Chu~Si's but all it did was seem to irritate the man further.

"If you so much as harm a single hair on my son's body-" Tristan was speaking through gritted teeth but the words caught in his throat when Eimhin reached out towards the child. Her hand ruffled through the blonde curls and as she pulled back, she yanked a hair out with her.

"Tsk. Oh my, did I do that? He's got such soft hair, I couldn't help myself." The hair was dropped and she could tell that Tristan was trying very hard to keep himself mostly composed. "Are you sure you should be worrying about your son though? If you don't treat that darling wife of yours, she could very well bleed out you know. We wouldn't want that to happen...oh. Wait. Yes I would." Surprise flitted across the older blonde's face for a moment as he glanced towards the door. It was in that very moment that Eimhin rushed forward, claws extended once again; Tristan turned back in time to just barely block her onslaught of attacks, not even having time to counter any of them. Her movements were swift and unpredictable compared to what he was used to fighting. After a couple of minutes of this, he finally thought he had an opening so he swung a counter slash upwards. Only it didn't work out to his favor as she had been expecting that move. Eimhin dropped out of the way of the sword and twisted enough so that she could slash her claws across his chest. As he was stumbling backwards, she continued forward and slammed a kick hard in the same exact spot as her claws had gotten; he fell back into the wall with a hard thud and slid down to the ground, gasping for the breath he had lost from the hit. The way she landed was a crouched position with her hands resting on the ground and her head tilted to the side.

"Aww." Disappointment was clear in her tone and across her features. "He isn't as fun as I thought he'd be either." The feline stuck her tongue out at him before turning towards Chu~Si. "Should I kill him or...?" She wanted to; oh how she wanted to just do it now while the chance was so fresh. Of course, she also didn't want to ruin her friend's plan either.

Chu~Si

Predictable. The worm’s first words were about his son and a vague threat that he could never hold up, which her friend did not wait to point out. The single blonde hair that curled floated down, proof that he really couldn’t do anything to stop the two of them if they decided to do anything to the boy in that moment. An amused look came across her face at the mention of the princess in the other room. Help wasn’t exactly swift around here. What first she thought was an unlikely outcome, grew to be more likely by the minute. Not that the king wanna be was given a chance to change the odds.

The fight was underwhelming and short. A disappointed sigh left her lips as she truly did like to watch Eimhin twist and turn elegantly, striking so fast that her opponent could hardly register where she hit them before another blow came. It was like a dance, but Tristan was thrown against the wall in what seemed mere seconds.

“Truly. After all, supposedly this pest was Cethin’s demise. Must have gotten lazy and fat in the passing years.” she teased, sparing a glance at Tristan before resting her gaze on her friend again. Chu~Si licked her lips as she thought on what to do. Her mother’s henchman wasn’t an easy guy to beat and the male before her had intervened and spoiled her mother’s plans countless of times. In other words he was a true contender to make things difficult in the future.

“Kill him.” she said, throwing in a shrug, like his life wasn’t a big deal. Kendra’s motionless body on the ground in the nursery could be seen and a smile grew on her face as she knew the woman would wish she had never woken up. She was playing it smart and still inflicting pain on those who wronged her. All in all, she was pretty impressed with decision.

Eimhin
35hrew6.jpg
"I doubt he killed Cethin by himself. As much as I thought the man was an ogre, there's no way he would have fallen by this brat's hand." Eimhin refused to believe that the would be king had a hand in it by himself. Or maybe it was like Chu~Si said and he just let himself go a little bit. Either way, it didn't matter since the feline wanted to put him out of his misery for good. Her gaze went from her friend to the brat and then back again; only this time it was more of an impatient look asking the other woman to hurry up and decide. When she finally did give permission, an elated look spread on Eimhin's face as she turned back to Tristan. Oh how she was going to enjoy this. A hum left her lips as she kept in her crouched position, inching closer as though she were going to pounce on her prey. Little did she know that it was exactly what Tristan had been hoping for. He was playing on the wound, letting them think that was enough to get him down. He just needed that woman to get just a little closer...

Eimhin's claws extended once more, a giggle leaving her lips as she closed in; she lunged forward finally, ready to rip through his throat but found herself crying out in pain instead. A glance down showed blood dripping from not just the slash on her leg but the follow up of the dagger being stabbed into her shoulder. Tristan pushed himself forward and forced the feline onto her back, digging the blade in deeper. "Jeez, you're annoying. I thought you'd never come closer." He grumbled a little, using all of his weight to rest on the dagger still in her shoulder. A furious growl left her lips when she realized he had been faking the whole time just to wait for the opportune chance. Maybe he really did kill Cethin like it was said. Regardless, Eimhin sure as hell wasn't going to fall here. Her legs lifted up into the air before she twisted her body, throwing the blonde off of her. Just as she was quick to get to her feet, so too was Tristan with his blade in hand again. "Give me back my son." He demanded with anger in his tone, his gaze more on Chu~Si than the feline now. That annoyed Eimhin even more so she ripped the dagger out of her shoulder and threw it towards him. He blocked that in time but didn't catch her as she lunged for another attack.

This time her attacks weren't blocked in time; his sword arm was targeted, slashing all along it before slamming another kick to the injury on his chest. Eimhin didn't let him fall though, oh no. Her claws dug into his other arm to pull him back as he staggered and her onslaught continued. The sound of metal heavily clanking down the hall caught her ear and a curse left her lips. They were coming from all sides now. "It's time." Eimhin announced loud enough for her friend to her before letting loose one more attack against the would be king. Her claws dug in to the same spot along his chest and twisted, leaving larger wounds than before that would take time to heal. If he didn't die from them. This time as he dropped to the ground, Eimhin knew he wouldn't be getting up soon. Knights rounded the corner just then, two archers already firing off their arrows towards the feline. Instead of dodging and giving a chance of them hitting Chu~Si -highly doubtful she knew but still- she waited until the last minute to slash them in the air. The archers were already readying other arrows so the feline bolted towards her friend.

"We're leaving. Now." The seriousness in her tone showed it was no longer time to play around. If the other woman didn't already hear the guards coming from the other side, she would know now.

"Don't let them escape! They...they have Liam." Tristan's voice sounded in the hall but it wasn't as strong as it was before. Eimhin didn't spare a glance back though and just focused on staying ahead so she could clear a path for the two of them. The sound of the armor increased, showing they were now running after the women. Two knights stayed behind, trying to look over Tristan's wounds. "Forget it, just...Kendra, she needs help." Or at least he was assuming since he didn't want to trust the words of those women. A curse left his lips as he slumped against the wall, trying hard to not pass out even though his vision was starting to blur. A curse left his lips and the last thing he remembered was seeing Liam in that vile woman's arms before he passed out.

Kendra

The voices from outside the room bounced off the walls. They were jumbled together and were hard to make out in her disorientated state. The room was a blur and nothing could be made out. Kendra was met with a pounding in her head and a sharp pain in her abdomen. A groan left her lips and suddenly there was movement and someone by her bedside peering down with concern. Squinting, slowly she could make out a young maid, not even out of her teens. That isn’t who she expected to be at her side at a time like this. Kendra slowly started sitting up, biting through the pain.

“Princess – Oh, no. I have strict orders to make sure you stay lying in bed.” The woman was met with a glare when she was fully upright. A stare that spoke clearly: Don’t you dare touch me.

“Where is my son?”

“I’ll fetch the doctor.”

“Where is my son?” she growled, getting angry for being left in the dark. No answer came, only a scared look that said I don’t want to answer that. “Where is my husband? Where is Tristan?” No answer still came in the brief moment Kendra allowed to happen. “My parents? Where are the King and Queen?” she demanded, getting fed up with this game.

“I’m going to fetch the doctor and then let the King and Queen know you’ve awakened. Now please, stay there and give me a moment. Answers will come shortly.” A wave a worry crossed her face when Tristan was left out of that statement. The door closed before Kendra could get another word out. A frustrated growl left her lips before she pulled off the covers. She wanted her baby boy safe in her arms now, not some doctor poking at her.

“I’m going to go fetch the doctor.” she mocked in a high pitched tone, slowly scooting closer to the edge of the bed, she brought her legs gingerly over the side. Movement made her side ache, but she was determined. “I’m going to fetch someone that will give me some answers” she mumbled, preparing to stand when the door swung back open. Kendra froze, caught in the act trying to sneak out a bed. The doctor’s stern gaze is what she expected to be met with, but instead a friendly familiar face was there instead.

Tristan
148gayf.jpg
Tristan stared at the door in the room he had woken up in for the longest time; a nurse had just come to check on him and make sure he hadn't done anything to reopen any of the wounds. Not that he could with his primary arm being all bandaged up and in a sling...well, he could if he really wanted to but there just wasn't a point. He had been told that he needed more rest if he wanted to recover properly, doctor's orders. That didn't really sit well with him since he had yet to see Kendra and he needed to see her. No one ever told him how bad off she really was, only that she needed to rest as much as he did. Needless to say, he managed to convince the nurse not to get the doctor and to just walk away for a few hours to let him 'escape'. Thus why he was staring at the door as though she really was going to come back with the doctor in tow.

After waiting a few more minutes just to be sure, Tristan practically jumped out of the bed without a care in the world how the blankets got thrown about. The first thing he did was take a peek out the door and when he was sure there wasn't anyone there, he inched out and turned down the hall. Kendra was still in the infirmary, as he should have been too; they should have known that Tristan would do what it took to see his wife after something like this happened. When he got there, he didn't hesitate to open the door but what he saw made him put his good hand on his waist. "Well, well. What have we here? Trying to sneak off somewhere, are we?" His tone was teasing ad his expression playful. After another moment, he just chuckled and closed the door behind him before he walked over to her bed. "It's all right though, I bribed the nurse to let me leave the room I've been in. Gave her an extra day off this week but shh, don't tell anyone kay? I'm not supposed to be out of bed either."

Tristan looked over Kendra for a moment before sitting down on the bed beside her; his good hand reached out to brush along her arm and his expression shifted to one a bit more serious. "All joking aside, it's good to see you. I was told Neva's should be arriving shortly, Finn might be with her if he isn't working. I don't really know about that though since I wasn't completely paying attention to what the nurse was saying." Mostly since it involved things he couldn't and shouldn't be doing right now. "How are you feeling, Kendra? Bold enough still to try and sneak off but physically, how are you?" Worry etched his tone and demeanor now as his eyes traveled over her to try to gauge himself if she was injured badly or not.

Kendra

The face in the entryway was just the one she wanted to see, well one out of the two. The panic slipped away for a brief moment. Tristan had a way of doing that. Calmer her even when he wasn’t trying. A smirk on her face grew; he knew exactly what she was trying to do and called her out. Kendra rolled her eyes slightly at him, somehow he always could persuade, bribe and even sometimes blackmail people into helping him. Clearly he hadn’t come out of this unscathed. Sort of reminded her when she left the castle to find Neva and he followed. He was always getting injured and playing it off like it was no big deal. Kendra was left wondering what injuries he had that she couldn’t see.

“Well I’m afraid all your effort to go undetected will be undone. My nurse left to get the doctor, only moment before you arrived.” Her tone gave away her annoyance on the matter, but there was nothing anyone could do now. The two were both awake and she had no intentions on letting them be separated again or evade her questions. “I’m glad to see you to.” A warm smiled spread across her face and she leaned into him slightly. Word her sister was on her way made her perk up. Neva and her stubbornness sometimes came in handy, when you weren’t the one it was pitted against. Things were just better when her sister was around. Kendra turned to meet his gaze when he asked how she was physically, not entirely sure how to answer. There was a bruise on the side of her face from where she was kicked, to go along with the pounding headache, though she wasn’t aware of it yet. The constant ache and sharp pain in her abdomen masked the lesser injuries.

“Not sure, to be honest. The doctor hasn’t come in so I don’t know what is really going on underneath the bandages. When I tried to get Liam, the woman had no weapons, but . . .” The stranger had driven something deep, she just didn’t know what. There was a sudden sharp pain when it happened, but after that nothing had hurt. Not even falling to the ground when she lost control of her body. The whole time she was more concerned with her son then her own well-being, she didn’t look for a weapon. “Tristan, they haven’t told me anything. . . Where is our son?” Her blue eyes studied him, hoping that she would finally get an answer out of someone.

Tristan

Tristan feigned hurt for a moment when he heard that the nurse was going to get the doctor; well so much for the old prune not knowing he was out of bed. All well. Kendra wasn't even all that happy with the news either, not that he could blame her. So far as he knew, this marked the first time that she was awake since the incident. Not that he thought about that too much since his focus stayed on the woman beside him. His good arm moved to wrap around her and held her closely for a few moments. At least until she pulled back enough for him to take a better look at her. Obvious bruising, which couldn't be the only thing wrong with her. She wasn't aware yet what had happened so even she didn't quite know what was wrong. That caused a small sigh to leave his lips that turned into a hitched breath. The mention of their son's name instantly caused him to look away for a moment.

"Kendra." The name slipped out barely above a whisper but he knew he couldn't keep anything from her. The nurse might have wanted to but he wasn't going to. "I...tried to stop them. Our knights tried to stop them too but Liam, he..." Tristan's hand balled into a fist and he forced himself to take a breath to try and steady his nerves. After a moment, he finally brought his attention back to Kendra with a grim expression. "They took him, Kendra. I don't know who they are or why they were after him but...they took our son. I tried to stop them but the blonde was faster than I expected, I couldn't keep up with her." Clearly he couldn't based on how he had been injured by her. Just thinking about it made his blood boil from anger and shame for letting it happen. "I swear to you I'll find him and bring him home though. I'll go to the ends of the earth to find him and bring him back." Tristan was determined to do so, he just hadn't figured out how to escape the palace just yet.

Kendra

The anticipation was nearly unbearable and it made her stomach drop The answer was given when he replied barely above a whisper with her name. In that instant she knew her son was no longer in the safety of the castle walls, but still in the arms of that wretched woman. A tsunami of emotions came and her hands started to tremble. A deep breathe was taken in, an attempt to calm her nerves. That and the reassurance from Tristan that she’d have her son home once gain worked. The tears threatening to trickle down where held down and she spoke in a surprisingly calm, but stern voice.

“We.” she corrected, eyeing Tristan with a loving, but serious look. Kendra knew that isn’t what he wanted to hear, but there was no way she was going to set this one out. Not while her son was on the line. “We’re finding him and we shall bring him home.” she concluded, not waiting for an argument. Any audible sounds from the sharp pain in her abdomen was held back, though the grimace face expression was a clear sign there was significant amount of pain from standing up. The bedside table was held to keep her right up as she eyed the door.

“We need to pack.” she said, trying to figure out the best route to get to her chambers and pack some belongings. A map was needed, though they knew nothing of the kidnappers so she had no idea where they would start looking. Having no idea where or what was happening to her baby boy was a thought that made her unravel. The calmness she had before slipped away and the tears started to come. “Tristan.” she cried softly, not knowing what to do. Neither of them was fit to go after these women and she felt stuck with no options. On top of it, she felt like a horrible mother for not being able to keep it together at a time like this, at a time her son needed her the most.

And there it was, the one thing that Tristan didn't want to hear but knew was coming. That one word that caused him to have mixed feelings; a part of him was happy and a part of him was worried that something worse might happen still. Just one word to cause his entire mind to start frantically thinking of all the bad things that could happen instead of just thinking Liam would be found: 'we'. As in Kendra was going with him and that look she was giving showed there really wasn't a way he could argue with her. Not that he truly wanted to since Kendra gave him piece of mind in a lot of ways. Seeing as he couldn't tell her no, he held back a sigh and got to his feet the moment she attempted to. His good arm was held out behind her, just barely touching her back in case she needed more support.

"We won't need much I don't think. A map, some rations, nothing too heavy to weigh the horse down. We need to travel light and swift so we can find him faster." Though he didn't have a clue as to where to start looking, he knew that just heading out there getting information would be a good start. When he noticed the tears brimming in her eyes, he closed the little bit of distance between them and held her tightly but gently. "Sshh, it's okay my love. He'll be back in our arms before you know it. We'll just-" his words stopped abruptly when he heard the door wiggle slightly. Wide-eyed, he watched with some dread in his eyes and prayed that it wasn't the doctor coming in to catch them in the act of escaping. When a blob of blue hair was spotted first, a breath of relief left him and he felt himself relax a bit. Neva sort of bounced into the room, her hand gently guiding Finn behind her. Although the moment she saw Kendra, she let go and rushed over to her sister.

"Gods, you guys look horrible! They didn't tell me anything about what happened, just that you were hurt and Father and Mother were so worried you might not get up and...oh who cares because you're actually up. I'm really glad to see you, Kendra!" All the while Neva spoke, Tristan stepped back some so that the blue-haired princess could wrap her sister in a warm hug. "So what exactly did happen anyway?" She asked after a moment, pulling back just enough to look at her sister and Tristan.

"It's...complicated." Tristan wasn't so sure if Kendra wanted to go into the details or not, so he left it at that and just focused on adjusting the annoying sling. The answer caused Neva to pout slightly so she looked her sister over with an expression that just about demanded answers.

"You better spill, missy." Her expression was a mix of a pout and an annoyed look but her tone betrayed her expression; it was a mix of a tease and one of worry. Just seeing Tristan bandaged up the way that he was gave her a sure sign that something terrible had happened.
