For Véron, there is nothing better than training to be the best merwarrior that he could be. Just like King Mesmo, he cherishes their underwater realm, and would protect it with his life. He would often spend many of his days befriending aquatic animals, asking for their support in case of danger. His friends Akoya and Axel would often invite him to travel the ocean, though he would recline their offers to further train and learn more about their kingdom. Crow and Véron share a strong relationship, mainly because Véron helped him when he was being attacked by a rouge merperson long ago. Véron always found it enjoyable to teach Crow about the many aspects of the realm and what it meant to be a prideful merperson. When it came to Coriana, it was all he could do to try and lead her in the right direction, and away from drugs…

Once the Find the Pearl games came around, Véron was eager to take a break from his duties and participate. This game involved merfolk searching one of the many underwater caves for a precious pearl, the winner gaining access to restricted parts of the castle. However, upon finding the pearl first, Véron swam into some trouble.

"Punishable for untruthful playing strategies."

These words from the referee mermaid were untrue, but her words ruled in the game of Find the Pearl. While Véron tried to prove himself innocent against her unexpected obloquy, The King also found it odd that he was able to discover the pearl so quickly. After light deliberation, The King summoned him to human world, claiming he would have to make friends with the two-legged folk to return home. He promised he would guard the castle, and all would be well. Although he didn't like that his friends also got into trouble, he was happy to hear that they would be joining him. A gentle storm begins, and grey clouds form in the sky. The King speaks a few magic words, and Véron begins his travel to the human world...

The atmosphere of Sunshine Lane is quiet, and most families are preparing dinner or getting ready to go out for some occasion. Many outside houselights are just turning on, for the sun is setting in the western sky. Most of the houses on Sunshine Lane look alike, though they have subtle differences. There are many reasons why King Mesmo chose this house to send his fellow merfolk to, mainly because upon his decision making, he saw several young people living here. While he understood the danger of sending them here, he could not have them breaking the law anymore. Underwater life is one of pride and respect, and there is no place for foolish actions.

Light. Brilliant light. It starts in flashes of gold and deep pink, forming from underwater in the pool that belonged to San Diego home he chose. This mystical power then radiates from above water, surrounding the pool for merely five seconds before subsiding. Upon opening his mouth, Véron gets a taste of chlorinated water, coughing instantly from underwater. "For the love of nixes…" He does his best to relax, and scans his new environment with handsome brown eyes. Before him are his friends, so he decides to see how they are. He hopes they are not afraid, and is willing to be there for them through this wild adventure. Reaching out for Coriana and Akoya, he touches them lightly.

"Madness, eh?" he smiles when more of the bubbles clear, and waits to surface until his friends are ready.

Crow was a young merfolk when he first met not only his brother in arms but his brother in all but blood as well, he had been abandoned by his nomadic pod when he was but a few years old due to his dark coloring and silent nature.

When he was attack the rouge merfolk that had attacked him left him scared and unable to speak full words or sentences and because of this he mostly kept to himself or stayed with vèron as he was someone he knew the dark mer could talk to and not be judged or ridiculed, one thing the dark mer did know how to do is make sure others where kept in line and helped people when needed all from the shadows as well.

When the tournament happened his brother was accused of cheating he hissed in anger at the referee but wasnt stopped from attacking the woman by vèron and he managed to give her some nasty wounds before he was stopped and lead away by the warrior and soon the two where told they would be sent to the human world with there friends which caused him alot of fear as he hated being somewhere he didnt know or had no knowledge about, and when they were sent he whined and stayed close to vèron out of fear "wh- us von" he whimpered as he held his throat in pain with another whimper looking around the pool unsure and very confused.

It is a typical Friday night, and yet again Areum has been selected to get dinner for everyone. It has been fifteen minutes since she left the house, but nothing she had been driving by seemed to interest her. As she approaches a familiar traffic light, she notices a smaller pick-up pull up next to her. She turns her head to observe a young man, his eyes wide open as he admires her Ford F-150. A giggle escapes her lips, and she offers the man a slight a wave before proceeding forward. On the right side of the road, there is the popular health food market named Sprouts. "Hm…"

Areum pulls into the parking lot of Sprouts, and steps out of her vehicle. Her hazel eyes fixate on the sunset that displays gorgeous colors of peach and pastel yellow. With a happy sigh, she walks toward the large, white building that was built at the beginning of the year. Once inside, Areum takes a moment to figure out why she has attracted so many stares from customers. She assumes it is her fashionable sleepwear, for tonight she has opted to wear sweatpants with black and white plaid print on them. Her torso is covered with a grey velour short-sleeved shirt that isn't quite long enough to cover her entire stomach. On her feet are classic moccasins in her favorite color black. Choosing to ignore those who were watching her, she makes her way for the refrigerated foods. She and her friends had been eating a lot of meat lately, so tonight she decided lettuce wraps with fruit, rice, and potatoes would make a delicious meal. After picking up all of her desired food items, Areum makes her way to the cashier. She places her items on the conveyor belt, and exchanges pleasant conversation with the cashier. Once her transaction is complete, she walks outside and gets back into her truck. With a roar, the truck starts, and she begins driving back home.

Turning onto Sunshine Lane, she waves as she notices Mr. Gringwald watering his precious flower garden outside of his home. Smiling softly, she then arrives at her house, and pulls into the driveway. Their house was made in 1989, and it includes four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a seating area used for all of their different hobbies, and a large backyard. The white paint is chipping in certain places, and the tile inside has a few cracks throughout the house, but she and her friends seem to like it just fine. Picking up her grocery bags, Areum heads inside to set the bags on the kitchen counter, then disappears into her bedroom. Tonight she and her friends are to watch American Horror Story, a series that she absolutely adores, and then perhaps go for a swim.

Now in her bedroom that is decorated through emblazonry, she sets down her wallet and keys on her bed. She then reenters the kitchen that has new appliances, but an older-looking countertop. Thankfully, the entire house has decorations that pertains to each individual. "Where is everyone!?" she calls out, starting to make dinner.

Finn was exhausted. He had started playing a game on his laptop last night and had lost track of time, resulting in him staying up literally all night. It threw off his entire schedule for the day. He couldn’t get himself up to exercise early, and then he was late on making breakfast. After breakfast he didn’t do much other than catch up on sleep for the whole day.

He had woken up later in the afternoon, his body feeling weird from the change in his sleep pattern. Since Finn wasn’t volunteering himself to make dinner for once, the house had decided that Areum to make her dinner. Which Finn was more than fine with. He had to take a break every once in a while.

By the time she had gotten back, Finn was up, but laying on the couch, watching some sort of anime. He waved his hand in greeting as she walked in, not bothering to lift his head up to actually say hello. He was still groggy from his day of rest, making him quieter than usual. He was wearing sweats, as he had been the whole day, which was a bit odd for him unless he was working out. Not that it looked back on him. His big gray sweatshirt matched his baggy sweatpants nicely, and most importantly, it was very comfy.

He remembered his friends’ plans for the night. They were planning on eating dinner and watching TV together for a relaxing, early autumn night. Then he remembered talk of swimming. Maybe he’d sit out this time... He was really tired. But he decided he’d push through to make his friends happy. Maybe it’d be too cold to swim, anyway.

Geoffrey

Geoffrey had been in the upstairs bathroom when Areum returned. He was meticulously combing his hair so that it was just right. Hearing the cry from below he called out, "In the bathroom, what would you expect?" The slight monotone made it difficult to tell if he was being snarky or sarcastic. It was clearly sarcasm to Geoffrey. The bathroom had been occupied by Geoffrey for over an hour while he worked to get things just right. Previously he had spent three hours getting ready for work only to have them call and let him know that he didn't need to pick up the extra shift because Laurel ended up coming into work. Instead of going to work, he had made himself a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios and almond milk and then went for a walk by himself. Upon his return he went straight to the bathroom to fix his hair, where he had been until Areum returned.

Turning off the light he headed down to the living room where Finn was lying about on the couch. Geoffrey was extremely fortunate not to have OCD along with his narcissism or Finn would have caused him to become suicidal the way he just sat around in sweats without a care in the world... "Finn..." he said nodding his head in acknowledgement as he passed through to the kitchen to where Areum was unloading the groceries. "Is there anything you need help with?" he asked genuinely. Geoffrey knew that she was going to prepare dinner, but he always offered a hand in the prep. The group was supposed to watch some horror show and then go swimming at dusk. He hated horror movies and shows, he never understood why or how people could enjoy such things. Knowing that this was one of the house 'rules' that they were to (at least once a week) sit, eat, and spend the evening hanging out together. This week Areum was in control. He would ensure that his phone was fully charged so he didn't have to actually watch the gruesome and freaky show. Sadly he would still have to listen to it as earbuds or headphone were not permitted during 'house time'.

Coriana backed up and admired her work. For the past hour, she had been slapping color with her tail onto the wall of a respected business building, adding detail with a small fishtail brush. She had painted a nude picture of a mermaid. Her reason for doing so was half because she had a grudge against someone who worked there and half because she was high enough to do something this stupid. She began tag her graffiti, and before she could finish, she heard sirens. A few minutes later she was being arrested.

Cora looked up at Vèron. She was still slightly high, her eyes glazed over. She knew that part of her punishment was to get sober as well, but now that she was in the human world, she could get some of her favorite drugs, and even try new ones. The thought made her smile. She kicked her legs, getting used to the feel of having them again. She knew that others had never had a pair of legs, so she was probably going to have to help them. "You ready to go up yet?" she asked her brother.

Lottie

Lottie was editing her video for hours now. It had to be emailed and turned in to her professor by midnight, and she was so close to finishing. It didn’t help that her partners were unreliable and made Lottie do all of the legwork. She was sat on her bed, legs crossed, with her laptop on her lap. Her eyes were glued to her computer screen as she made a vigorous clicking sound on the keypad in frustration.

The house was relatively quiet before Areum came back with dinner. The only noises were of Finn’s show he was watching in the living room, Geoffrey’s rustling in the bathroom, and Lottie’s clickety-clacking of her computer. She had just finished rendering her project and begun to save it when she heard the house door open and close, suggesting Areum’s return. “Where is everyone?!” Areum called from the kitchen. Lottie heard Geoffrey shout something back before she chirped in, “I’ll be down in a sec.” She sent her finished project to her professor and stood up to clean up her appearance. Her hair was flying everywhere and her eyes were dry and visibly tired. Hopefully, she would feel better after this evening when she and her roommates would watch some TV and take a dip in the pool.

Lottie walked into the living room, her hair still a bit poofy. She paused when she saw Finn sprawled out on the couch like a sack of potatoes. “For goodness sake, Finn. Sit up like a normal human being or I will sit on you,” Lottie scolded. She continued to walk into the kitchen, and greeted Geoffrey and Areum, “Hey guys, what are we eating today?” Lottie peeked over to see what Areum was preparing before taking out a cup, filling it with water, and taking a sip.

Areum observes Geoffrey as he makes his grand entrance into the kitchen. She notices that his hair looks perfectly styled, like always. With a soft grin, she pulls him into a hug.

"Sure," she says, her voice sounding enthusiastic, "make these potatoes however you like."

The young woman turns to pull the potatoes from the plastic bag. They are in their own separate bag stil, so she takes it upon herself to open the bag. She takes out four potatoes and makes a gesture for her friend to take them. "So, how is everything going at the salon? Has Nancy had her baby yet?"

Once Lottie comes in, Areum twirls in place. "Oh, Lottie!" Her eyes sparkle, quite similar to the eyes of an anime character on Finn's show. "Tonight we are having lettuce wraps with fruit, rice, and potatoes. How does this sound?"

Glancing at the clock, Areum notices that there is still thirty minutes before their show starts. From the kitchen window, she admires the sky as the colors had changed subtly. She then gets out a small pink pot and fills it with water, then covers it while she waits for the water to start boiling.

"Who wants to play volley ball in the pool later?" she asks her friends, then walks through the house to open various doors and windows. There was nothing better than fresh air, especially now that the weather was getting slightly cooler. Back in the kitchen now, she debates on messing with Geoffrey's hairdo, but decides she better not.
