Possessed Armor:

The character is an eight-foot tall set of armor that appears to be made of gold at first glance, though lab testing has confirmed it to be made of an extremely durable metal alloy that was originally believed to have been only known for the past few years (a Titanium-Gold alloy four times stronger than steel). The armor is possessed by an ancient Roman spirit, who apparently served in an order of holy warriors regarded as the precursor to paladins. It has no corpse, bones, or anything inside; the armor is completely empty, so nobody is sure why or how exactly it is possessed. It is known, however, that the armor is corporeal, and the spirit is permanently bound to it. The armor has the strange ability to heal damage almost like flesh, and even the worst punctures and gashes can be fixed within days. The armor is also consecrated, and is considered a holy object in he same way that crosses and holy water are.

Personality

Strangely enough, the armor actually has a voice. The voice reverberates inside of the armor, and is loud and bombastic. The spirit enjoys celebration. The spirit is extremely dutiful, and will often relentlessly pursue evil beasts in an attempt to slay them unless it is too dangerous or against His best interests (note the capitalization). He is very protective of innocent beings. At times, he can seem a bit mindless and drone-like, repeating his ancient creed and often responding monotonously and predictably to moral and ethical questions, especially paradoxical ones.

Bio

"Protect the Innocent! Slay evil wherever it may rear its ugly head! Bring peace, hope, and faith to the world!" This was the oath Aelius swore to almost 2000 years ago. The Order of the Holy Blades, the supposed origin of the concept of paladinhood. An order of the strongest, toughest, most honorable soldiers of the Roman army, being a member of the Order was considered the highest honor a warrior could achieve; and exclusive guild of only the greatest fighters from all corners of the empire. The Order, however, did not participate in the traditional army, with their role instead being more focused on the home front. It may seem folly to take your greatest warriors of the front line, but their role was much needed. See, the goal of the Order was to slay evil beasts within the empire that terrorize the people, from vampires and werewolves to demons and dragons. The success of the group is extremely debatable, because, even though they do have a few recorded successes, they have overwhelming lists of both civilian and personnel casualties, and the continued existence of such beasts proves they did not do a complete job. They did fight, however, and it did yield results on occasion.

Aelius was born an unnamed Roman slave. He wasn't particularly bright, or quite charming, but he was kind-hearted and strong, though 'strong' may be an understatement. He was a beast of a man, standing at eight feet tall and weighing in at 181 kilograms, almost pure muscle. He had to do back-breaking work, working the fields of a landowner that underfed him and his fellow slaves. He one day got into a scuffle with the landowner and accidentally killed him. He decided to run, and chose the name he uses now. The first name was the name of a friend who snuck in to give the slaves extra food, and the last name was based on a nickname the other spaces gave to him, which translates to 'the Bull'.

To put as much distance between him and that farm, he joined the Roman army, and quickly excelled through the ranks. When he was offered the opportunity to join the Order, he was reluctant; it would mean leaving the front lines, and in turn going back into the lands near his old farm. He accepted, however, as the idea of such a challenge intrigued him.

The gear of every member of the Order was specially tailored to their fighting style; The lightweight fighters wore aluminum armor (which, with the rarity of aluminum during those times, was an expensive prospect), the heavy hitters wore plate armor made of special, experimental metals, and those in between wore leather armor with specially-shaped studs designed to dull blades. Aelius, however, was a special case. His armor was designed to cover him head to toe in a thick layer of metal. The complete set of armor weighed about as much as Aelius did, and it weighed him down about as much a winter coat weighs down you or me.

From there, Aelius has one of the most colorful track records of any member of the organization. Dozens of werewolves, vampires, and other assorted creatures of the night were felled by his blade, and his reputation even includes the slaying of one young dragon. However, he always dreamed of the big catch; a demon. One day, he got his chance.

He was at the demon lair with a handful of other members of the Order. Many instantly panicked and bailed on the raid, but Aelius, as the leader of that particular endeavor, was not so phased. Eventually, the entire rest of the group chickened out on the way down, and he was forced to confront the demon himself. The moment he stepped within eyesight of the demon, the demon vaporized him with the flick of their fingers, leaving nothing of him behind but his armor and sword.

A few days later, the demon vacated, and members of the Order were sent to collect his body. They immediately assumed the demon destroyed him and consumed his soul, and put his armor in the catacombs in place of a body. However, his spirit clung to the armor, and he soon came up from those catacombs in a new form.

He came to the Academy in hopes of continuing his Order's mission, and enrolled as a student. Little did he know how the Academy actually operates...

@Pumpkin Spice Cyanide It might spice up the story if it was one of the Tetrad that killed him, so if you wanna do that, there's that.

Also, did I go overboard?

I love this character! FINALLY someone pulls an (obviously) good guy out!

Tho the Tetrad is banned from combat (not counting each other) unless in self defense.

I'm sure we'll be able to work something out :D

Aelius is most def in.......hmm, maybe we can expand on this "Holy Blades" thing later on...

He was killed almost 2000 years ago, surely you haven't been banned from combat for 2000 years?
