the 100 (inspired)
The setting is 97 years after a devastating nuclear apocalypse wipes out almost all life on Earth. Thousands of people live in a space station orbiting Earth, which they call the Ark, constructed of connecting space stations and spacecraft. On the Ark all crimes are punishable by death (being shot into space), unless you're under the age of 18 where you are detained until you're 18th birthday when your case is evaluated and you're either freed or shot into space.Three generations have been born in space, bringing the population of the Ark beyond carrying capacity. The future is jeopardized by over-population. 100 juvenile criminals are sent to the surface in a last attempt to determine whether Earth is habitable. But there's more then radiation waiting for the 100 on earth.
Our characters would be part of the 100 sent down to Earth.
