Ruler of Twilight
Prologue ~Pokemon ancient past.jpegOur world was very different than it is today.

Back then, people and Pokémon did not live together in close harmony. The world was a much harsher place during that era, and people and Pokémon struggled to survive without the bonds that they share between them today. It was an age long before the invention of modern Pokeballs, and humans did not capture them to battle with each other for fun or for sport. In fact, most people feared wild Pokémon during these ancient times.

This distrust was born mostly from misunderstanding. The Pokedex had not been invented yet, and most people were too afraid to perform research on wild Pokémon in their natural environments.

Still, there were tales of some Pokémon who obeyed humans. However, this relationship was not forged through friendship. These Pokémon were often forced to obey their masters, and were trained to be used in war against neighboring lands. This only fueled the resentment that existed between people and Pokémon.

But there was still hope.

In some villages, people revered Pokémon and would often throw festivals in their honor. It is said that these people even worshipped "legendary Pokémon" as their own personal deities. One of these Pokémon was called Ho-Oh, who's appearance was said to bring happiness and prosperity to those who possessed a pure heart. Some villagers would bring offerings to Ho-Oh and these other legendary Pokémon, in hopes that these Pokémon Gods would recognize their kindness, and bring an end to their hardships. Although this village culture was not widely accepted at the time, it is said that this was the origins of the friendship between humans and Pokémon.

One such place was known as Azalea village...and this is where our story begins...

Takako sighed as she crossed out yet another line she’d written, the young poke trainer had been desperate to finish her poetry book she’d been making today but everything she wrote today sounded stupid even minty was trying to help, not that he could say more than his own name. Takako had been writing this book for months and was finally ready to finish it to send to her editor, a friend, but seems that would have to wait.

She gets up and starts to grab things changing into something more suited for public, not just her pajamas from the night before. She walked out the door with just lampent and a picnic basket and her notebook in case she thinks of something to write while out. “How about we go to the forest for a picnic minty!” She smiles and they start on their way Mint floating a little behind her as she walks just incase they were to be caught by a wild Pokemon.

They stop in a large clearing and she sets up their picnic and sits. Its quiet in the forest today. The clearing had a small celebi shrine, she often picnicked here not many Pokemon that were hostile at least came near here the place a location of peace. Something felt off about today but she shrugged it off in favor of enjoying the time with her lovely and loyal Pokemon. Her hair wasn’t styled today either the dark color simply in a pair of messy pigtails and the outfit she wore something her parents would hate to see her out in saying it made her look like a delinquent. “Minty I swear one day we’ll get to go out and explore ma and pa are just too stuck up to realize.”

Many of her friends were already out on their trainer adventure but she stayed behind her team was small and definitely didn’t have enough good members her lampent the only true one she cared for, she had found him in the cemetery one cold winter her grandmother who she loved dearly had passed and Takako would constantly go out to mourn lampent had found her and comforted her she had come back the next day with a pokeball which the Pokemon gladly entered. A sweet friendship.
