Fantasy A new start(Ebony Rose)

"Well ask her now then. It's not likely she's going to say no. I mean, she's still here isn't she?" Jewel asked rhetorically. "Most people would have made for the hills by now, she hasn't."

Melody's confusion only went up looking between Emblazia and Jewel. "Ask me what? Someone tell me what's going on before I become an even more confused Melody" she said pouting.

"Oh it's nothing bad. In fact I suspect it would make you a very happy Melody" Jewel said with a cheeky little smile imitating Melody's temporary slip of using third person speech to refer to herself.

Emblazia looked at Melody, blushing though trying as usual to her best. “Um, I know you have said we haven’t known each other very long and there’s everything that keeps happening whenever around me, but I really do love you Melody.” Her nervous stumbling just made her cuter to the right people while others would get annoyed at it. “Would you please accept being official with me? We can figure out something like a ring when less hectic.”

Melody flushed at the confession and almost felt like bonking Jewel on her precious noggin. Her and Emblazia briefly spoke to going slow but this sounded like something Jewel poked and prodded at. "Blaze, come here" she said opening her arm for the redhead to take place in. A soft kiss was placed on the girls forehead before being nuzzled gently. "I don't doubt that you love me. It's clear as day in your eyes when you look at me, when you touch me and every time I feel your lips on my skin. I don't need a ring or anything but if you want to do that I won't stop you. All you need to do is look me in the eye and tell me you love me, promise me your heart forever and I am a happy girl."

A chorus calls of 'Kiss her for f*cks sake!' echoed from the Hounds and everyone else outside the door.

The yelping of surprise from the sudden sound ended up followed by poor Emblazia spooked enough to land in the floor yet somehow Melody wasn’t pulled down in the process. So that’s what everyone meant saying that she tended to be flexible enough for getting out of rope. Lightly groaning as she sat up, she seemed to be a little bit disoriented but otherwise unharmed. “Nope going to go back to not sitting up. Definitely better than watching the walls spinning.”

Melody glared at the door before lying down on her stomach and gently tugged Emblazia over to lean against the bed and then back up with her on the bed. "I'll take the kiss for myself before I teach them a lesson for scaring you" she said in a whisper soft tone only the redhead could hear. It lasted a moment but the kiss was different than the others in the last two days. It was sweeter, more possessive, more adoring; so many things that it was hard to describe but they were they. "Now you lay there with our daughter and I'm going to teach some people manners." The smile on her lips appeared surface level sweet but just underneath that it wasn't as she got off the bed. "Be back shortly. Love you both." Then she was gone popping her knuckles as she walked.

Closing her eyes so that her vision wouldn’t be so unsteady, she occupied the time listening to the others and idle commentary. “Feel a little bad for them but honestly the specialists say the same thing every visit and that’s every other month.” She mumbled gesturing the girl check her calendar for the next appointment. “One is coming up this month. Hoping not for about another week though.”

Jewel rolled her eyes a little as she put Emblazia's head on her lap with the utmost care. Her fingers gently rubbed at her temples in a hope to stave off any pain from the fall. "It's in two weeks" she said as some high pitched male yelps came through the door. "They should know better by now not to do that sort of stuff to you." Her head shook in a disapproving manner. It was frustrating given some of the guys and women out there being taught a lesson by Melody had been around for YEARS and they acted like it was news to them.

She gave her a grateful noise, feeling somewhat better with the migraine easing up a bit. “Ending up with anything ranging from memory loss to permanent stuck in the house from disabilities isn’t exactly on the bucket list.” Emblazia acknowledged, trying to avoid the possibility as much as able. However occasionally her companions were forgetful or a heated situation got out of hand. “Think I’m starting to get forgetful though. Maybe it’s just the focus issues or some of both.”

"Oh please, if there was any proper damage to your mind you know I would have seen it before now" Jewel said putting a little more pressure on her fingers knowing how much it helped.

"Does anyone else want to put their two goddamn cents into what's going on behind that door?" Melody's voice echoed with a dangerous undertone.

Jewel shook her head hearing just how annoyed Melody was. "Well she's definitely a good match for you. All nice and sweet she can be but annoy her enough and her claws come out" she said continuing the gentle pressure rubbing of Emblazia's temples.

“Really the best both of you.” Emblazia mumbled contently, feeling somewhat drowsy now. Even if she did fall asleep, the rest wouldn’t hurt the typically sleep deprived wonder. Thanks to the loving warmth of her beloved, the nightmares seemed gone or at least far less common. “Maybe a pendant. Something both soothing sounds and crashing thunder.”

Jewel's eyes softened as she let one hand drop to gently trace random shapes on Emblazia's cheek. "Maybe, think on it after we deal with the idiot fae" she said in a soft voice. Hearing the door open she looked up and saw Melody close the door behind her quietly.

"How is my fae queen doing?" Melody asked in a quiet voice sitting on the bed beside Jewel and Emblazia. Her hand gently carded through the red locks, a soft smile on her lips. Seeing her girlfriend so content was a good sight. For all the worrying that this letter was already doing it was nice to see her so relaxed and calm. She should try to get her to be a touch more active since they slept part of the day away but didn't have the heart to ruin the content look on Emblazia's face.

“Half asleep as usual, song bird.” Emblazia chimed, the sound lazy yet relaxed. She instinctively knew something bounced around in her girlfriend’s mind, opening one eye now the worst of the headache had left. “You’ve been thinking again.” She teased with a chuckle of amusement. Of course she had to poke fun a little bit. “Making plans for the next few days for us?”

"Have I been thinking again?" Melody asked with a chuckle. Her eyes gleamed with amusement as Jewel poked Emblazia's cheek. "What would make you think that?"

Jewel arched an eyebrow at the display. She had the same idea as her adopted sister-slash-kinda mom and pointed the finger at Melody. "You got the look on your face" she said with a deadpan look on her face.

"Look, what look?" Melody asked with a confused look. She didn't have a look did she? She didn't think she had a look. Ok maybe she had been thinking a little bit about what to do regarding this whole fae inheritance thing but she hadn't put too much thought into it. Once they got the details from Thanatos there was more to be determined about the trip.

“I suppose that it’s only natural for us to be in tune more and more with time. Still might as well share whatever is on your mind.” Emblazia pointed out with a light chuckle. Feeling better finally other than lazy, she was going to be careful just in case though Jewel had enough experience with her to know how to help once she got still. “I’m honestly wondering if that meddling adopted family of mine will ever actually act like adults. Probably not yet it’s...” The phrasing eluded the woman as her thoughts strayed from her original focus. Point two for goldfish.

Melody waited with quirked eyebrow as Emblazia mentioned the fae side of her family. When she seemed to lose her train of thought seemed to go off the rails she snickered a little. "I'm not really planning anything. Just had passing thoughts that depending on what the letter says will affect how we travel is all. By the way" she had a sort of playful smirk "you have the cutest goldfish look on your face right now." She was quick to jump off the bed laughing in case her girlfriend decided to get some 'revenge' for the 'insult'.

Emblazia looked at Melody before whining from embarrassment. “I lost trying that staring contest.” She admitted, now pouting from the reminder. Though that she had less urge for vengeful retaliation against her lover than anyone else was a promising concept. “Besides, looking like the poor guy got lost trying to figure that thing out.”

Melody looked comfused as hell the mention of a staring contest. "You tried to have a staring contest... With a gold fish.. and lost?" she asked not quite sure she heard right. "Why were you trying to stare down a gold fish actually? I was making a joke but there's I want to hear now missy."

Emblazia nodded, looking rather deflated. “Cerberus and I made a bet after some arguing. I lost so badly but he has made sure no one else knows except obvious shadow of mine.”

Melody tried not laugh at the deflated look on Emblazia's face but the thought of her fierce redheaded girlfriend having a staring contest with a goldfish of all creatures was too funny that q tiny giggle did escape her lips. "You were doomed from the start" she said once her giggling stopped. "Goldfish don't have eyelids so it wouldn't have blinked. Ever."

Jewel tried to hold in her own laughter knowing Cerberus was going to be in so much trouble.

“What?” Emblazia whined, completely frustrated by both getting laughed at and learning she had been set up whether intentionally or not. It unfortunately only just triggered the natural reaction to it: tears and feelings of complete defeat. At least Cerberus probably had just been doing the bet in jest though. However Emblazia would probably not be calming down anytime soon.

Melody's good cheer disappeared the moment that she saw Emblazia begin to cry. She hadn't thought the clarification would have made her girlfriend cry. Hastily jumping on the bed and pulling the redhead into her arms she held the other close to her. "I'm sorry for laughing Blaze. I thought you knew that goldfish didn't have eyelids." Panic showed on her face trying to figure out how to try calming her girlfriend. The door banged open as three of the guys plus Siren rushed in guns drawn making her cradle her girlfriend closer.

Emblazia at least didn’t land in the floor this time, instead burrowing into Melody all the more. Any signs of the proud woman had currently vanished as she now appeared far more like a child after being bullied or such. If the situation didn’t improve soon, surely it couldn’t get any worse right? Then again, the Hounds did seem to have genuinely forgotten the sensative nature of their leader after so long.

Jewel made a shooing motion though she motioned Cerberus to stay.

Melody hummed softly as she stroked her hand gently through Emblazia's locks. A soft song was sung so only Emblazia could hear it, the world seeming to fade as she focused solely on calming down her beloved. "No more tears love" she whispered softly, her fingers gently wiping away tear trails. "Cerberus doesn't strike me as one who would set up a bet with an impossible win. He loves you." She paused gently brushing a thumb over the soft flesh. "He calls you boss but treats you like his baby sister. He doesn't have it in his heart to do something as cruel as that and I really am sorry for laughing, please forgive me.."

Emblazia gradually began calming down, sniffling here and there. “I always end up crying whenever I get frustrated. Kids would make fun and it just made me cry even more unfortunately.” She mumbled, knowing her long time friend would have memories of the topic. That she was teased at best by even other kids seemed rather sorry.

"No one is perfect love" Melody soothed with a loving gentle tone. "If everyone was perfect, life would be boring and not worth any consideration. Our flaws make us perfectly unique so don't pay it too much mind. I'll be your teddy bear to cry if and when you need it."

Cerberus saw the interaction and was awed, though he didn't show it, at the level of devotion from Melody. The girl was two days into a relationship with his little sister in all but blood, not to mention his boss, and he had seen her drag out the more rarely seen human parts of Emblazia. There was little doubt the human girl, though if Jewel was right and Melody wasn't human, was an absolute gift for the redhead. She was a rough queen ruling on an iron throne where it came to her kingdom on the street. She was loving mother and sister to Jewel. She cared for everyone but had no one to devote true care only to her before she met Melody. It was like the girl was molded with the heart, compassion and fierceness to be Emblazia's counterpart.
