~THE CHARACTERS~

Name: Talyndra kaelas`Farandir

Age: 28

Gender: Female

Homeland: The Bloodsworn

Race: Anarhin (Sun Elf)

Class: Stormlord

Equipment: Silver bound spellbook, Heartwood dagger and Ghastwood elven longbow. Talyndra's ivory colored mage robes is embroidered with gold threads and woven onto an enchanted leather bodice to make it more resilient than ordinary robes. Compact slingpouch with usual traveling supplies. She also wears a slim black choker, inlaid with a swirling milky white gem.

Appearance:
full
Talyndra is blessed with high cheekbones, emerald green almond shaped eyes and small slightly upturned nose giving her a rather impish look. Olive coloured skintone further solidifies her heritage as one of the anarhin. Luxurious amber coloured tresses falls to the small of her back, which she usually braids at the sides to keep in check. She stands at a towering 5 feet 6 inches, glorious! Talyndra possesses a petite body framework with just, only just, enough curves in the right places.

Personality: (Leaving this out for now)

Character Background: Talyndra, younger of only three children born to Lord Tasaldan Farandir, was what her people would call a larle`. In commons, bastard. Lord Tasaldan's only wife, having passed away giving birth to his first daughter. Talyndra's mother was a mere maidservant of the house, was compensated before being sent away shortly after Talyndra was born. Given the fact that she was the younger of two daughters, and an illegitimate child, Talyndra was fortunate that her father chose to acknowledge her; but only to the extent of providing for her needs and education. Despite his generosity, any sort of inheritance was entirely out of the question, not that Talyndra minded. Without the burden that usually comes with being a 'proper' child of a prominent elven lord, she was mostly left to her own devices. This gave her ample freedom to pursue art in all its forms, for she loved it; and would've spent all her days immersed in it if not for the fact that she was sent to Heartfire Academy to learn the ways of a Stormlord.

Right at the onset, Talyndra proved to be trouble, trouble of a different sort. Talyndra's powers were sporadic to say the least. One moment, they would fail her completely and the next, they would be blazing uncontrollably albeit powerfully; to the cost of damaged school property. Her mentors blamed her lack of concentration for such uncontrollable magic. Despite that, she managed to complete her studies and even work, at her father's behest (well, he didnt speak to her... he wrot- he bade one of his servants to pen a suggestion), as a tutor at the academy. Talyndra knew her father was slowly wiping his hands clean off her, gradually cutting her off in what he deemed was the most ethical way.

Talyndra's bow was given to her by Tanadris, her older sister and also Calenfar Captain. Also the only person in the whole House Farandir who didn't look at her askance. Tanadris taught her how to wield it, and though Talyndra's mastery of the elven longbow is fair, it is nowhere near as skilled as a regular elven Ranger.

Name: Illah Soleos

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Homeland: Arya

Race: Human

Class: Exalted

Equipment: He carries a sancterite shield and a special flail given to him as a gift during his travels. The sancterite shield has been with him since he became a wayfarer, and wears many scratches on its front to prove its age. The flail on the other hand is composed of steel with a heavy but durable weight acting as a lamp. Its flame is magically lit, rendering a rather consecrated-looking light upon its surroundings, and it acts as the weight of the flail.

Appearance: Illah is surprisingly small for a man of his age. He stands at a meager 1.60 metres, and has inferior musculature to other men his age. He has a tan skin tone(with clear tan lines where the clothing starts), which contrasts with the bright, golden, unkempt hair that sticks out at awkward angles from his head, clearly in need of a haircut, accompanied by patches of stubble, also clearly ungroomed. His eyes are a few shades darker than his skin, proving to be a dark shade of brown upon closer inspection, and his facial features are quite soft. Having left behind much when he became a wayfarer, he wears nothing more than a simple set of steel armour and a traveller's cloak. Despite his age, he looks very young, which frustrates him when he's seen as an altar boy rather than a fully fledged acolyte. Overall, he could actually be called cute.

Personality: Anyone can be an exuberant and zealous regurgitator of the teachings of Iolos, and so was Illah before he became a wayfarer. Since then, however, Illah has become a lot more grounded and understanding of the world around him, but his faith in Iolos hasn't waned. He very much believes in Iolos and keeps his faith in mind during everyday life. Although he preaches of Iolos as a vagabond for the church, he does not use Iolos to justify any good decisions or advice. Instead, he has become a very "people" person, using common empathy and humanity to try and reach the hearts of the troubled. When met with troubled hearts, Illah goes out of his way to try and give them advice or help them in earnest, finely threading the line between treading on eggshells and complete lack of sensitivity depending on the person. So much compassion does he have to give that he tries to help even when his help is unwanted. He understands he may be unappreciated or unwanted, but he believes that to turn away from someone without trying is want of courage. No doubt about it, Illah has been hurt by others during his travels in his attempts to help people, but scorn, humiliation, and threats are no reason to turn back. While Iolos forms the centre of his life, perhaps this is also because of his lack of companionship. He has a deep desire for close companionship, and while the church was his family right from the start, he cannot honestly agree with everything about the Church of Iolos. On that note, Illah also has a lot of opinions about the church. He does not have the courage to raise a word against the hands that fed him, not to mention that he is also scared of questioning his faith. If asked about the flaws of the church, he does voice his true opinion. Rather, he still repeats the same messages from the church. He is not necessarily of a peaceful nature, but does prefer a pacifistic solution if reasonable.

Character Background: Illah is another orphan who fell into the hands of the church. Without any external or familial influences, Illah had no trouble being raised into another acolyte of the church. Just another dime a dozen. Illah continued this way until his teenage years when a man of nobility caught his eye, with swathes of blonde for hair and sharp brown eyes. In him, he found a likeness of his own, and whenever he saw the man again, he would always watch him closely. Always lurking... always watching... Why did he always come with money? And eventually he found out why. The man had been buying indulgences from the church, paying for penitence with money. A privilege for the rich. Why would the patriarch accept such things? Illah couldn't accept that this was what Iolos would want, but when he raised the question to his father, he only raised his ire. Told to never doubt the patriarch, Illah remained in the church, but after his realisation, he could no longer avert his eyes. Every exchange of coin he noticed, he realised was for the favour of the church. Where was all the money even going? Deciding that perhaps he couldn't take it, Illah decided to become a wayfarerand preach the church of Iolos as he travelled, and how lucky he was that he did. Travelling outside the privileged city walls of Midranthros, Illah became much more grounded and human than any priest or brother had taught him, and he gains a genuine compassion that was no longer just drilled into him, but actually inherent to his character. Now, he lives his days travelling as a wayfarer and spreading the word of Iolos while actually dealing with the troubles of others on a basis of human ethics and empathy rather than the what the church preaches, believing instead to seek out a new side of humanity, a new side of Iolos' beloved, everyday instead of just following dogma and doctrine. Without knowing it, the potential for a First Flame has sparked within him in his travels to grow more human. However, he is still shackled by his fear of and silence for the church, afraid to break free and voice his opinions. During his travels, he still regularly reports back to the church of Iolos, and represents everything they want for an Exalted despite his hidden doubts of them. In fact, it was after one of his reports back to the church of Iolos that he mustered up the strength to introduce himself to the noble he always observed during one of the noble's visits to the church. Safe to say, the noble clearly did not want to stay in conversation with him for long, but Illah was later summoned by someone he had never heard of. Although, by the very fact that he was summoned, he assumed it was a noble. Hoping that it was the same man, Illah immediately responded, but found himself in an adventure he never thought he would.

Trivia:
  • When watching out for the same noble back when he was seventeen, he finally saw the noble with his family. Safe to say, none of them looked like him, sporting mostly brown hair and a darker skin tone. He is actually a whore child of the noble, and the only reason why he is on this adventure was because the noble found guilt in his existence and recommended him. If Illah found fulfilment in this journey, then perhaps he would have done something for the child he abandoned. On the other hand, if Illah died, there'd be no bastard child to begin with, no?
  • During puberty, he considered himself a freak for having to abate his feelings for his fellow brothers. He still does, actually.
  • He lives off of alms. He has never charged money for any healing or protection he has offered.

Edit: I'm really picky about photos but I haven't been browsing much lately so I still don't have one, welp. Also this is quite late, sorry.
