North Brother Island, located on the East River, in the heart of New York.

Smaller than Rikers Island, but bigger than its neighboring South Brother Island, it was filled with thick greenery and forestation, which were almost untouched by the urban lattice of the city around it.

Like a snapshot of nature which remained unchanged for hundreds of years.

It used to have a hospital, but then it shut down, and the island became a ghost of its former self. Literally: some paranormal investigators visited it, as did explorers. The city council didn't have any ideas on what to do with it, so it decided to declare its status as a bird sanctuary, but there were constant talks about selling it.

Because of that, the council was more than ecstatic when the Global Champions showed an interest in purchasing both the island, and its cousin, South Brother Island. Both sides signed on it, and the Global Champions obtained nineteen new acres of land, perfectly fit for moderate deforestation and construction.

Now, after almost a year, the building was finished, the documentation was signed, the transfers of personnel were finalized, and the equipment has arrived.

North Brother Island became the headquarters of the newly-established Nebula Brigade.

A ziggurat of ferrocrete and carbosteel, covered in panels of thick polycrystalline glass. At twenty floors in height, it was rather impressive as far as architectures went. The top ten floors were dedicated purely to the Nebula Brigade's use, containing dorms, a living room, a cafeteria with an android chef, training rooms - even an indoor pool - it was a creamy arrangement. Security wasn't bad either, the only way to get to the island being forcefield bridges that could be turned on and off at will.

On top of that, between the tourism and merchandise, the base could almost sustain a tenth of its yearly maintenance fees, which wasn't bad. Hopefully, once the team got popular, this side-benefit would increase.

And speaking of the team...

The lobby was just that - a tourist attraction. Decorative gray-black marble floors, with lighter pillars supporting a second half-floor with metal railings overlooking the main area. The upper floor had some kitschy posters of the Global Champions and soon-to-be Nebula Brigadiers on it, in addition to TV screens displaying the more glorious moments of the Champions' history - to glue in the eyes of the kids. There were some tablets, describing the members of the Nebula Brigade using layman's words. Quick, informative, and private, but not revealing anything of actual importance.

Back on the lower level, there were several reception desks from mahogany wood between the pillars - large and heavy things, with plenty of space, meant to invoke a feeling of candied grandiosity - and receptionists prepared to answer almost any question regarding the team or heroics in general, as well as to actually help with any real problems.

In the center of the lobby, perfectly placed, loomed a quartet of glass tubes with elevators in them, restricted only to the staff. Between them and the entrance was a large fountain, the jets of water creating complex and breathtaking trajectories.

On top of the fountain, as if it was a pedestal, was a statue. The idealized man, cast in bronze and standing tall, a reminder for each of us to be the best person that we can possibly be. It captured the zeitgeist of heroism.

Global Champions Administrative Department Seventy - damn, that's a mouthful - deputy director Caleb Carillon and his secretary Miss Lindholm, put on their sunglasses and walked out of the elevator.

Flashes of light went across their bodies as the tourists in the lobby made photos of them. The pair fell into step and walked towards the entrance, where they would meet the new team.

571655While it was certainly not a weird sight it was certainly particular to see a young girl in her gym tracksuit with a field hockey stick and a big gym back on her back running off the force-field bridge towards the entrance to the Nebula Brigade headquarters. After getting there the young girl finally stops and grabs her knees as she attempts to gather her breath. So what could've gotten this girl in such a rush?

She knew that if she started running immediately after finishing practice for 30 minutes at 6 mph she'd get there a few minutes early. If she ran any faster she'd appear eager and if she ran any slower she'd appear to be late on purpose, which in today's society was just kind of a douche thing to do. Nonetheless after finishing practice on time she was met by the New York crowd, which she easily dealt with by crawling under benches and shoulder barging her way through, it looked like field hockey came in handy!

Looking around the establishment she stopped at the front door, where they were set to meet. Which to be entirely sure she didn't understand, it was somewhat embarrassing loitering in front of the door to such a big building. Before coming here she didn't even have time to use shampoo and conditioner! She had to resort to... ugh.. hair and body wash...

Peering in she notices the bronze statue atop a fountain, which she found counter productive considering how easily bronze oxidized but she wasnt a interior designer. She then immediately notices the two people who were being photographed, was this really necessary?

"Man are Americans excessive..."

Christopher Sanches-Martin
Location: driving through the city towards the North Island
Time: 7:56

Chris wove his black and red motorbike through the traffic, availing of every crack that opened up. As usual, the traffic was congested, taxis honking, drivers yelling at dozy pedestrians, the usual crap. His leather jacket flapped loudly in the wind behind him. His hair blew out, getting messier and messier by the minute, but he didn't care. Chris had just finished his double shift at work and looked a mess anyway, what difference was his hair going to make? The Nebula people were gonna see him at his worst at some point, might as well get it over with.

His sister, Kit, chimed in, interrupting his thoughts. In her typical blunt, no-bullshit style she said, "You do realize they are going to judge you as a complete mess who doesn't even deserve to be gracing their famous halls? They're gonna be brutal."

Chris rolled his eyes. His sister was correct, but he couldn't help but say, "This is all part of my cunning plan to make sure they underestimate me. I don't want them to think I'm an all-powerful warlock mage; I'm not Constantine."

Kit sighed; he had a point after all. Chris swerved onto the pavement, briefly, scattering pedestrians out of the way before turning onto one of the bridges that connected the city to the north island. The island always seemed intimidating to him, sitting there in plain view, but beyond the reach of ordinary citizens like him. Well, he wasn't ordinary, but still.

He could see the crowds gathered outside the main building. Judging by the shouting and camera flashing some famous people had arrived. He didn't like the spotlight and neither did Kit, but he had an awkward feeling that this Nebula shindig would involve a lot of it.

Slowing down he parked his motorbike and got off. He caught the side of his reflection in the mirror - a twenty-year-old guy with messy blond-brown hair, smokey grey eyes, stubble and a neutral expression stared back. He was dressed in black jeans, a dark grey t-shirt and a leather jacket, his badge clipped to his belt, mostly obscured by the jacket. On his feet were black thick motorbike boots with silver buckles. His backpack was slung over his left shoulder.

Kit laughed. "You look fine, bro. Now get your ass in there and meet the famous people, don't screw it up!"

Chris sighed - here goes nothing - and began to walk towards the building.

Interaction: Shurian Shurian
Mention: Birdsie Birdsie Thepotatogod Thepotatogod Kana.M. Kana.M. Eldarkon Eldarkon Space_Kaiser Space_Kaiser Epiphany Epiphany Shinrinyuko Shinrinyuko June Verles June Verles

Clad in black leather shoes, jackets and trousers, Brie felt very hot. Hot sexy too, but mostly hot like she wore leather instead of a t-shirt and a hot pants. She struggled to keep smiling toward the crowd. Thankfully, she was sensible enough to add a temperature conditioning feature before wearing the all-leather outfit. If she didn't wear the same leather in those posters she wouldn't wear this leather. Brie flashed a smile for a camera.

Damn, she felt hot.

Camera flashes and commentaries decorated the path to Nebula Brigade HQ. Brie focused her mind to complain about her costume. Why? Because the alternative was to worry about how she looked in front of the media. Or how she would soon be a hero with her physics-defying power. Or how she could have taken the scholarship for a master degree. Or- anyway, the leather suit was a good topic to ponder about.

"Big and flashy just like Dad said."

But you could only think of leather so many time before getting bored of it. Brie turned to her surrounding. To the building in front of her, to be exact. Wait, that reminded her of what came next. And the building got closer. Damn it.

"You ready for this?"

Desperate for a last minute distraction, Brie turned to the girl walking next to her. She was bathing in cold sweat already.

Carbon Dragon
Location: The Bronx, New York City
Time: Approx. 7:56 AM

Inside of this sprawling city lies a vast underground, the perfect place for someone like Carbon. It was filled with criminals, but nowhere near the threat level the Global Champions face or need to meet. As they say, let sleeping dogs lie and have someone else take care of them. That someone else had to be the NYPD, who are already stretching themselves out thin inside the largest and one of the most populated cities in the world. To Carbon, the people who work for the NYPD can be comparable to people serving the armed forces in some ways. Hence why this underground is the perfect place for Carbon, not as a place to be with the bottom feeders but to hunt them. He's stopped a gun smuggling ring, numerous drug trades, human trafficking, and suppressed gang activity within this week alone. He's not called Carbon Dragon down there, a mouthful according to them. Instead, he's referred to as the Metal Man by the kingpins and leaders of the underground. Most of the people he fights work with the Acceturo Family, although some are small timers who immediately give up when they see him due to his reputation. Don't get it wrong, people still fight back, but that happens less and less as the days go on since they know what Carbon can do. It doesn't bother him that he does this kind of stuff despite his capabilities, as long as he stops the crime and helps the police it's okay with him. As long as he can help with the small stuff, make peoples lives and jobs more manageable, then it'll all be okay.

Considering it was early in the morning people were getting up, Carbon had just begun his 'patrolling.' Today: The Bronx. Why? Well, a new hero team would be opened up on North Brother Island. The Nebula Brigade is it? Well, it doesn't matter, as going to that event is the least of Carbon's concern. With the police, citizens, and heroes busy with the new opening of this hero team the underground would be active. Taking advantage of this situation Carbon began searching for the usual, wondering if anything significant would happen at the event.

Aka Yusha
Location: North Island New York, the Gate to the Nebula Brigade
571967

Today was probably the best day that this all could have started. It was a warm, sunny May morning in New York City. The birds were chirping, calling to each other among the faint noise of car horns coming from the main city. For New York, it was peaceful. Spring had come late this year, as the trees were now just blooming. Aka liked how the island had trees and vegetation on it, as it added a sense of humanity and beauty, some of the very things that Hero's should be fighting for. "Maybe this should be apart of my routine once I start living here" Aka thought to himself. Admiring the very city that he would be fighting to protect would keep him in line as a hero, reminding him why he would do it all.

Aka had been sitting on the Bench at the front entrance for about 30 minutes. It was part of his morning routine to wake up at 6 am, work out for an hour, and go for a run around the city for 30 mins. He finished his morning routine well before 8:00, which was the time that he was told to be at North Brother Island, so he decided to come early to familiarize himself with the island grounds. Besides, since he wasn't in costume, none of the public could recognize him. But as much as he wanted to keep on admiring the scenery, it was almost time to meet his employers; director Caleb Carillon and Miss secretary Lindholm.

At that moment, two women could be seen approaching the entrance. One was in their teens, and the other about his age. "Time to make some friends I guess" Aka giggled, rising from the bench and walking towards them. The older woman had a sense of style, and did indeed look attractive. Although looks weren't everything. Nevertheless, he did want to make a good first impression. "So you two are for this Nebula Brigade thing too huh"

North Brother Island - Nebula Brigade HQ

"Can I still back out?"

"Not sure if that's a rhetorical question from my subconscious.. ahhh, who am I kidding.."

Toby, after having been dropped off by his mom at North Brother Island where the Nebula Brigade HQ and his 'home' for months to come, mumbled quite annoyingly at the thought of his decision to become a hero. With his titanium backpack - looking bulky at the moment due to being filled with clothes - he decided to take his first step while glancing at the obvious newcomers who had just arrived as well. He pondered at the thought of having to make new friends, though it didn't scare him it surely was going to be a little bit of a hassle to him, but that's probably 'cos he just got an earful from his mom for waking up late and not packing his things the night before.

"Ha.. It's like the first day of high school all over again, huh?" He mused to himself as a slight smile of exasperation formed on his. With that he proceeded to take his first step while acknowledging it with a famous line, "That's one small step for me.." and followed it with a hop over a tiny crack on the pavement, "..and one giant leap for my choices." He chuckled, not at what he just spouted out, but at the realization that people may think he's weird talking to himself like that. But he brushed it off and decided to head for the front door where the deputy director of Global Champions was with a lady next to him along with some newcomers who had just arrived as well.

With his head raised and eyes glued at the gigantic structure in front of him, Toby couldn't help but feel a bit nervous as he slowly found himself under the shadow of the building HQ. It somehow made him feel that he was stepping into a realm of which he was unfamiliar with. After all, for about 17 years he never dreamed of becoming a hero. As he got nearer he found himself walking a little bit behind a guy who probably had just arrived... or maybe an employee at the HQ? Toby couldn't really tell as he noticed the guy's messy, unkempt hair and seemingly greasy hair - the kind of glossy hair Toby gets when he's up all night playing 10 games of dota.

Toby sighed, and decided to call out to the guy to introduce himself. "Hey, man!" Picking up his pace by doing a 3 step hop-jog to get a bit closer. "What a great new day to be making new friends, huh?" He chuckled kinda awkwardly, "I mean, what kind of weirdo would introduce himself to someone who's walking, ahahah. That's me, the name is Toby." Perceiving that offering a handshake while they were walking may end up as one of those awkward-epic-fail-kind-of-handshakes, he just went for a two finger salute with his right hand at the man.

Chris looped his gun belt around his waist. The left holster contained his regular pistol, the two right ones contained his taser pistol and grappling gun. Secured along were his swiss army knife, ammo cartridges, torch and his badge. He looked at the building in front of him wondering how on earth this could be afforded when every police precinct in the country was desperately under budget and understaffed. He wondered how many precincts could be run with the money.

Kit scoffed loudly, her thoughts echoing Chris's: "this building is all about intimidation. The height, its stand out architecture tell us subliminally that they are better, bigger, stronger and superior to us in everyone. The column inside evoke ancient Rome. The sweeps and industrailo materials symbolise power. That's all this is- a power show, they are doing this to intimidate us and show everyone whos boss. And by opening it up to random schmucks like us they make themselves look good. We're nothing more than a PR stunt. and we both know it. They don't care about the little guys, else they'd have given those sessions to the cops. And work with NYPD instead of leaving us to clean up their messes. And they probably don't even have free wifi! Cheapskates!"

Chris couldn't help but agree with Kit! She made valid points. Especially the free wifi one. Walking towards the building he noticed two women (one teen, one older) walking towards the building. Alongside them was a man. "these must be my new coworkers. Teammates? Co-heroes? What word do I even use in this situation?"

kit as cynical as ever chimed in:
"I don't know, but how much do you want bet to they are all tech suit guys? And maybe an alien or two? No mages I'll bet. Wonderful" the last word was laced with sarcasm.

Chris then became aware of the boy behind him. He could tell that the kid was nervous and guessed he was one of the new heroes. The boy awkwardly introduced himself and Chris couldn't help gufgulfile, it reminded him so much of his first day in American school. He turned towards the boy and said "hey, its cool, I do it too. I'm Christopher or Chris or Kit, take your pick."

(very evident as he turns around towards Toby that he's a cop)

Morning

For a while there, it seemed like the man Toby had just introduced himself to was in deep thought. He kinda felt stupid for introducing himself out of the blue but was snapped back when the man gave him a smile and an introduction. Toby smiled back but at the same couldn't help but feel a bit confused as the man gave him some nicknames he could choose from when suddenly Toby's eyes noticed a badge on the man's leather jacket. "Oh!" The revelation that this man was a cop caught him a bit off guard, "ah, sorry about that Chr.. I mean, officer. Couldn't really tell from back there." Toby chuckled a bit embarrassingly while holding out his hand in a fist with his thumb sticking out pointing behind him.

By now, both Toby and the man had just arrived at the front door of the HQ where some of the newcomers had also arrive together with the deputy director of the Global Champions and a lady next to him.

Chris smiled at this kid. Kit snorted loudly before giving her opinion. "I like this guy, he's cool. Wonder what his story is? And his powers or abilities or tech? You know, maybe this team won't be so bad after all, but don't do anything stupid and freak him out." His sister was clearly warming up to the whole idea of this place, but wasn't totally convinced.

He addressed Toby again. "don't worry, it's cool, I get it a lot. And technically I'm a detective, but you're here for the hero thing I take it?" he spoke in a reassuring choice, perfected over his years of police work. What said was true, he did get it a lot, especially when he wasn't wearing his full cop gear, but iy was okay. And he was cool with it. Chris had walked the whole way outside of the camera row towards the front of the building, nobody really paid any attention to him. They just dismissed him as another normal cop talking to some kid he knew. It was amazing what people assumed without all the information. Had they known about his magic they definitely wouldn't let him just waltz around this place. He'd probably have been clamped in chains, handcuffs and whatever else they could legally throw on him and dragged away to some secret facility for some form of interrogation

It was right then that Lucien that cat decided to make an appearance. His grey head poked out of the backpack and stared at Toby with interest. The cat had grey tabby skin and unusual piercing violet eyes. It didn't look the slightest but returned to be in a backpack

572012As she begun to feel less and less interested in the whole nebula brigade thing seeing the unnecessary welcome her attention was taken by a woman dressed in a clearly uncomfortable full body leather outfit. Which garnered a blank stare from the high school girl as she responded to her question out of courtesy;

"I am ready but I certainly didn't expect a full on gala welcoming. Though it seems at least you were prepared..." she said with a deep Russian accent as they were approached by a third person who she swore she saw waiting on that bench even before they got here. Who the hell waits on a bench by them self and then approaches two girls by themselves?

She then remembers her new female coworker's attire and then nods seemingly understanding why he was approaching them.

"So you two are for this Nebula Brigade thing too huh"

"Oh, so you are here for that too?" she said out aloud genuinely surprised. However as soon as she determined him not to be a threat she left the conversation to be carried by the other chick as she reached into her gym bag, past the math book and the assault rifle to pull out a pink hello kitty notebook which she begun scribbling into.

Morning

"Ah..." He couldn't help but feel another shade of embarrassment as Chris revealed himself to be actually a detective. But Toby decided that he was not going to make it a big deal and end up making a fool of himself even more. He brushed the thought aside and glanced at the vast ocean that can be seen from the side. Indeed, it was a very calming day reassured by the bright blue sky atop the horizon. He began to think about the duties he was going to be given and the rules he would now have to follow after signing up for Nebula Brigade. What kind of training will I have here? Will it be enough to not die early? Damn... What if I get killed earlier than what I had planned at the age of 90??? I want kids..

"Yeah.." Toby mumbled a bit absent-mindedly at Chris' question as he kind of lost himseld in his thoughts, but he came around. "Yes, I'm here for that hero thing, detective." Toby said once more, clearing out his nerves and making sure that Chris knew that his head was no longer up in the clouds. He notice the other three newcomers were also already having their own conversation when suddenly one of the girls pulled out a rifle.. No, a pink notebook with Hello Kitty prints on it and started scribbling with her pen. Toby was taken a back a bit and wondered what she wrote, but it would be disrespectful if he suddenly walked over to where she was and peeked at what she was writing. Plus, he was getting really full in the bladder and was itching to get to the urinal. But he had to hold it in, for now. "So, uhh, detective.. Are you here for some sort of investigation? You look like you need a cup of coffee." Toby smiled.

Chris could practically hear the smirk in Kits voice: "you've kinda terrified the kid now you know, and he's probably really embarrassed as well, good job bro. Keep the comedy coming" Chris rolled his eyes internally. His sister could be quite the pain sometimes. Noticing the cat he gent!y reached April reached up and stroked his head, rubbing just under his ears. Lucian purred in agreement.

He turned to Toby "I'm not here on a case, but I am here on business. I gotta deliver a message to these important head honcho people of the Nebula Brigade, not fun, and it's not a good news message either, they're gonna be pissed. To be honest the people in charge of Neb are completely terrifying. I bet you didn't expect to hear that from a cop" he chuckled, relaxing more into the conversation.

"I've just come off a double shift, I've been working since yesterday morning, I'm kinda dead on my feet and I could totally do with a coffee. And call me Chris, detective makes me sound old or worse like my sister" Kit instantly responded with: "oh you bastard, I hate you sometimes, you know that?"

Deputy Director Caleb Carillon, Miss Lindholm [NPC]
North Brother Island, Nebula HQ

The deputy director walked outside to greet the team, leaving the starved media dogs and tourists inside the building, while security kept them there. He put on his best professional resting face and approached, his secretary in tow.

"Good morning," called the deputy director's voice, austere and impassionate. "My name is Caleb Carillon, I'm the deputy director of the GCAD department seventy. I would love to have a prolonged introduction with each of you, but there's no time. Miss Lindholm, give them the masks, please. We wouldn't want the media to know who you are, and removing memories and traces of data files is too much of a bother."

Miss Lindholm stepped forward, handing out masks from a small box. They were stereotypical domino masks, made from some kind of synthetic fiber, and they adhered to one's face when put on, then generated a distortion effect that blurred out the facial details.

The deputy director looked at his phone and read out, "Today on schedule, you will be meeting with the director, then go through a talk about procedure and tactics with the Avatar and Bleu-Blanc-Rouge, go through power-testing under their supervision, provided you have a power that can be tested, and finally have a tour of the facilities. After that, fully inducted team members will begin monitoring for crime, but you won't be going into action without professional supervision. Alright, any questions?"

He looked up questioningly, nonplussed.

Brick [NPC]
Bronx

There was a whistling sound in the air, as a barrage of red energy bolts tore through the air in Carbon Dragon's direction.

After his initial attack, Brick landed down on the other side of the rooftop, arresting his flight. "You!" the supervillain huffed out in brutish frustration.

Brick was a giant, easily standing at eight feet tall, and had bulky muscles. Brick's costume was rather down-to-earth, giving the impression of low effort and cheapness. He wore jeans, which were slim-fitted for his massive calves and thighs, and a black tanktop, through which his pectorals were easily visible. The only thing setting him apart from a normal, albeit hunky man, was an elaborate rust-red mask which looked like a frowning face.

"The rest of my team will get here soon, Metal Man," Brick declared. The hunky villain cracked his knuckles, cracked his neck, and squared his shoulders. "Nothing personal. The boss said to get rid of you, and I'm inclined to listen!"

Red light gathered in Brick's palms, a rusty color at first, before gaining vibrancy and speed like a rustling flame. Brick raised his hands and shot another barrage of bolts, then swiped his right fist in a horizontal 'karate chop' motion, generating a force wave of red color, enough to break human bone.

As Carbon began to descend down to the underworld of New York he was alerted to a large energy spike coming towards his direction. Quickly, he shifted his body towards the energy bolts and materialized his shield and covered his body. Suddenly the bolts hit his shield with such force that he moved slightly back with each hit. Thankfully the shield absorbed it all, as well as absorbing the impact damage. He quickly raised his head beyond his shield to see who the attacker was. Judging from the appearance of the assailant and the power that hit him, it was Brick from the New Predators. He knew he had made enemies of the underground, but didn't think they would send the big guns so soon. Guess he was a menace to them after all. Either way, he prepared to defend again as a much larger attack was on its way. He braced even tighter than before when he felt an even stronger wave hit him. This time his body moved back further but did not fall over or get launched, instead he remained behind his shield ever more determined to hold. He raised his body to face Brick valiantly. "If you want to get rid of me, then you'll have to try harder than that." He said, with the suit masking his voice by making it deeper and a little more electronic/robotic. Suddenly he ran towards Brick, covering half the distance between them within seconds.

Suddenly and without warning, a burst of speed came from Carbon via his A-Jets as he slammed into Brick. The impact of that would be strong, with someone like Brick easily being able to withstand it. He knew that he could generate force-fields quickly, so Carbon released all of the energy built off from Brick's own blast unto Brick himself. Using the force of the blast from his shield he sent both Brick and himself back in opposite directions, allowing Carbon to get away without getting a taste of what Brick could do physically. He knew that others, possibly the other three of the New Predators, would show up. So he had to at least distract Brick long enough for him to escape or buy time for professional heroes to arrive. After all, this was in broad daylight and out in the open although it was early in the morning. "Before we get further into this I'd prefer it if you called me by my actual name, Carbon Dragon. Metal Man sounds too permissive."

In the streets of Manhattan, a young girl clad in a grey sweater, and a pink dress shirt ran through the streets of Manhattan.

"Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no...!"The panicked muttering of Vienna Culum, one of the newbies said to join the Nebula Brigade as she ran, hoping she'd get there in time. "I nearly overslept!"

'This wouldn't had happened if you just slept early, brat!' A gravely, deep voice cursed within the depths of Vienna's mind. This voice is Maoh, a Parasite trapped inside a Magic Armor's Core due to the amount of energy it had absorbed before hand. 'You just HAD to waste time in front that tiny screen, huh?'

"I'm sorry, okay!" Vienna apologized profusely as she ran, "I was really looking forward to that episode...!"

'Whatever.' Maoh sighed, 'We'll never make it due to your slow ass. Gimme the controls!'

"W-wait!" Vienna uttered before suddenly jolting to a halt, her eyes flashing a tint of red. A second later, she undid her own sweater and a portion of her dress shirt to reveal what is essentially a device with two capsules on it and a lever.

'What are you doing?!' Vienna, now stuck as the voice in her own head, asked what Maoh is about do as he began to run once more, his hand on the lever, turning it.

"What else?" Maoh scoffed in Vienna's voice as he turned to a conveniently placed dark alleyway as a dark aura began to seep through Vienna's body. This Dark Aura then burst in a large cloud of purple d a r k n e s s, seeping out of the alleyway before what would be a black armored figure flew out of the alleyway via propulsion from the suit, headed towards the direction of North Brother Island according to what he saw on a map before they left.

'H-hey, Maoh, are we even allowed to do this?!' Vienna asked as her body, now encased in a black, spiked mechanical armor flew across Manhattan, 'Don't we look like a Villain here?!'

"Oh please, as if we'll get pulled over for being edgy!" Maoh argued, now back to his regular, deep gravelly voice, "Besides! This here's the fastest way we can get there--Heck, we don't have to deal with traffic AND your shitty sense of direction like this!"

'I-I can see your point...' Vienna sighed in defeat, 'J-just land near the entrance, okay? I don't wanna cause a scene...'

"Nope." Maoh's simple reply as he sped up with the flight. A few minutes later, what would be the building to the Nebula Brigade came into view, and along with it, North Brother Island.

'Is that the place?' Vienna asked as Maoh began to lower altitude, veering towards the land near the building itself. Shortly after, the propulsion from the suit's palms stopped, leaving them falling freestyle.

'Uh...Maoh?' Vienna's concerned call to the current consciousness in her body. However, Maoh didn't answer, and the body still continued to fall, slowly adjusting itself towards a small gathering of people for what he assumed to be their allies. Currently about 35 feet above and descending, they appear to be falling at a high speed, around 5ft/sec.

Around 6 seconds passed, and the black suit of armor with a red and blue visor performed a super hero landing just behind the current people that have gathered there, emitting a purple smoke which emitted a somewhat menacing aura felt only for villains...Much to Vienna's dismay.

"...Nailed it." Maoh sighed in relief as the armor stood up, dusting itself before standing straight and scanning their soon to be teammates, most of which are young ones with distinct features...There's even a soldier. "...Is this the Nebula Brigade?" Maoh asked for confirmation, wondering if he actually landed on the right place.

Mercy - Riya Kapoor

By the time the deputy director approaches the people gathering outside the impressive facility, Riya stands in their midst. She's a striking woman, for both her costuming and her coloring suggests she's plainly not a local. Especially not with that expression on her face. For Riya looks at the towering headquarters of the Nebula Brigade with outright fascination, even awe. How extraordinary, the work these mortals did! Her plane has its own beauty but she admires the incredible craftsmanship that goes into painstackingly assembling materials through tools and instruments and vehicles, stacking them atop each other until such a towering edifice is erected. Where do they find the patience?

Beyond her robe, Riya is visibly armed with an ancient sword. And while she doesn't directly speak to any of the others, she exchanges welcoming smiles and interested looks to any that look her way. Such is the expression she gives to the deputy director when he comes up to the assembled team. That smile slips slightly when his assistant passes out the strange masks and she's plainly reluctant to put hers on. Still, she complies.

When Vienna performs her rather spectacular landing, Riya is only too happy to break into thunderous applause.

Then, when the director asks for questions, she clears her voice and speaks with slightly accented English. "I'd like to hear more about how team members are considered...fully inducted, please. And who our professional supervision is to be. If you don't mind answering, Deputy Director." And then she flashes him another winsome smile.

Brick [NPC]
Bronx

Brick growled, raising his hands and creating a shield of energy which barely withstood Carbon Dragon's attack.

After Carbon Dragon backed off, Brick channeled the bleed of energy from his shield into his left fist and let it stay there. Red streaks coiled around his arm, collecting into his hand and giving it a deadly, rustic hue.

Brick grinned with a brutish smile. There was bloodlust in his eyes. "Carbon Dragon it is! You're not half-bad. That suit of yours looks nifty, but it won't help you for long!"

The villain channeled his energy into both of his fists and feet, including the remaining energy from his forcefield, then jumped forward, releasing the energy from all limbs at the same time.

From a standstill to the movement of a ball fired from a cannon, Brick launched forward in Carbon Dragon's direction, trailing a rusty color from all of his limbs. The villain collected his energy in his fist, moved back his right shoulder, and threw a wide haymaker that would hit as soon as he reached where Carbon Dragon stood.

Deputy Director Caleb Carillon, Miss Lindholm [NPC]
North Brother Island, Nebula HQ

Caleb looked at where Vienna arrived in an effective and flashy pose, subtly rolling his eyes and muttering something about showing off.

Then, the stunning black woman asked him a question. If the man was awed by her appearance or aura, he didn't show it, looking at her with a strict and ascetic expression. He gave the impression of someone who ignored his children's pleas to go to the McDonalds drive-thru, insisting there was food at home.

"You've all already signed an NDA, and a tentative information sheet regarding your metahuman powers - not to mention the contract - but some of the people present have different circumstances. For example, some of the team's members may be temporary or on probation, but most of you are legal staff - not that I can say it, since I've signed an NDA myself. As for supervision, I don't know, but I suspect one of the Global Champions will accompany you personally or act as mission control. Given today you are meeting both Avatar and Bleu-Blanc-Rouge, it may be either of them."

"Any other questions, or shall we proceed upstairs?" he turned to the rest.

Cecil Brandt
A.K.A. TEMPEST

The day was already nearing its peak. Today was going to be the whole new celebration or whatever they call it, about the team that Cecil was being assigned to. While she had to go to a different course of training with regards to the nature of how she is to be a part of the new group thing, she still had to go do the same things as the others - and that was to head onto the headquarters of the group.

But Cecil ain't having any of that rush at all. She took all the time she can take, causally strolling around, sometimes buying some snacks that she immediately chows down, sometime beating up some random "bad" guys here and there.

After about an hour of so, she finally decides to actually head to the place where she must be.

And so, suddenly, this casually-outfitted girl drops from what seems to be the sky. She lands on her feet, but she is unable to control the strength of her impact and causes a small crater on where she landed, causing a fair amount of damage to the floor. A few small yellow sparks could be seen flickering here and there, mostly around her legs, though that sight quickly fades as the girl walks onward without a care.

Stepping up, Cecil speaks.

"Yeah I got a question.", she says. "I'm not late to the party, right?"

Lilian White

Lilian.jpg
Miss Pharmacist
The Bronx; Alleyway
Excited; Hiding nervousness

Interaction: -
At the sound of explosion, Lilian flattened herself toward the wall. According to RoxieRox' Guide on Avoiding Crossfire, alleyway was one of the safer hiding spot when a fight was nearby. Unfortunately, the guide explicitly said surviving fights involving high destructive power relied more on luck than strategy.

Ten minutes ago, Lilian had exited a shady bar in the area. Her purpose? Trading. 5,000 glossy sugar cubes of LSD with increased duration of influence in return for $2,000 and a tinker-made soft gel capsule filling machine. Now, two thousand dollar didn't sound worth the risk of being caught for drug dealing, but for a portable capsule machine?

The giant was unknown to Lilian. The number of strong supervillain on the streets was more than she could remember. Unfortunately, she recognised the hero in power suit. As if to confirm her guess, the hero introduced himself. Carbon Dragon.

Caterwaul Network had a pinned thread regarding Carbon Dragon. He was not the strongest hero on the street. However, he was a looming threat for the Caterwaul Superhumans. Carbon Dragon was known for capturing low level villains. Drug dealers instead of mad scientists. Smugglers instead of villainous organisation. In other words, Caters, users of Caterwaul Network, was the main target for Carbon Dragon.

Slowly, Lilian's gloved hand moved to her mouth. She had four choices. Run, hide, help the giant, help the dragon. With her proximity to the fight, running would mean immediate discovery. Hiding was safer, but it left her chance to the victor of the battle. Now, helping the villain sounded obvious, but there was a trend of 'silencing all witness' when it came to bystander. Helping the hero... forget it. If another underground dweller saw her, her life would be ruined.

creak

A bright pink pill popped out of the glove's back into her mouth. Lilian swallowed. Almost instantaneously, she could hear her heart rate increasing. Her muscles tensed as a surge of strength flowed through her body. Soldier Steroid. A drug developed to give soldiers a last burst of strength before death. After alteration and put her power into consideration, the drug was able to provide Lilian with five minutes worth of superhuman ability and reflex before she ran out of steam.

Out of the four choices she had, Lilian chose neither. She made a fifth choice. Wait. Her right hand took the chemical blaster out of its holster. She would wait. And when a chance showed up, she would pick the path that would ensure her survival, and survival of her lifestyle.

Leticia Herschel~
North Brother Island ~ Nebula Brigade Entrance
Time: 7:59

A young lady... middle grade at oldest? Dashing across one of the force-field bridges?
Her earmuffs streaked with sweat, her little legs cranking up a notch with every step, her hair flowing behind her, there was not a single muscle in her legs that did not scream for oxygen. Adrenaline pumping through her blood, our dear Leticia Herschel sprints like a mad dog across a bridge leading towards North Brother Island.

Ah! What am I doing staring at the islands? I'm late!

Oh, the classic excuse. Indeed, she planned out her day to accommodate for the event, yet she had done such a foolish mistake. That is, of course, not to account for human error. Only a complacent one would commit such a heinous crime: admiring the view. Running in her white sneakers, the gates of Nebula Brigade finally came into view.

It's bigger than I thought it would be! And that is...

A girl, falling from the sky, landing near the entrance. Right in the middle of a diverse cast, with two prominent members facing the rest of the group. There was the girl who just landed... and a whole bunch of other strong looking people! And was that a detective? A child soldier? This young graduate wondered as she made her way towards the party. After all, she wasn't exactly thrilled. Though she had seen her fair share of meta-humans, it had always been intimidating to see such power. The next move was to, of course, move to where the party awaited.

"Yeah I got a question.", she says. "I'm not late to the party, right?"

"I'm here! I'm not late..." She squeaked out from between her breaths, bending over to catch her breath. Her hands pressing onto her knees, the chocolate-coloured gloves prominently contrasted the rest of her clothing. She looked at everyone, studying them again.

This is... embarrassing...

"Am I?"

"...We'll take that as a 'Yes', then." Maoh nodded as he noted the given information; they're supposed to meet up with the head honchos--The Avatar and Bleu-Blanc-Rogue upstairs.

'W-we're gonna meet the Avatar himself?!' Vienna asked almost excitedly, which prompted the armored figure to veer his head to the right, as if talking to someone beside him.

"What, you didn't know?" Maoh whispered silently, as purple smoke began to envelop the armored figure with a cloud so thick only a small glimpse of the shadow can be seen.

'I mean, I read that when we signed up for it, but I didn't know we'll meet him THIS early into our career!' Vienna reasoned as the smoke dissipated, absorbed to the belt buckle, actually, revealing what would be a young girl clad in a grey sweater and a pink dress-shirt with a rather odd piece of technology stuck on her in front of her lower abdomen--no belt included. Just then, it would seem that someone had the same idea as her, and performed what would be an over the top version of their landing. In contrast to theirs', this casually dressed showboat appeared to have made a crater as she landed. 'W-wooow...' Vienna, having witnessed the landing with her own eyes, can't help but stare in awe. At least that girl wouldn't notice since Maoh had put up quite a disappointed face.

"...Talk about being over the top..." Maoh sighed as he buttoned up the dress shirt and the swea

'But you just did the exact same thing!' Vienna argued.

"Oh please. At least I had the decency to not make a crater!" Maoh spat at Vienna, who was currently in her head the entire time, might I add. To another's perspective, it may look like this young girl is insulting someone else for no reason at all.

Just then, a girl with brown hair around the same age as Vienna entered the fray, asking if she was late.

'I don't think so...' Vienna said, though her voice remained unheard.

"Barely, I'd say." Maoh answered in her place, arms crossed and all.

Carbon Dragon
Location: The Bronx, New York City

As Carbon landed on his feet, he saw his attack barely cause damage, which was fair, after all his A-Jets aren't the fastest thing in the world. However, he could see that his attack left an imprint onto Brick's mind as he showed he wasn't just some low-level street fighter. That's when he saw Brick move, with a wild fury comparable to that of a pouncing lion. Brick was fast, but with him focusing on one attack and one place Carbon had the advantage. There was a reason he didn't use all of his A-Jets if he did he would a be a sitting duck for this attack. Carbon could take this attack. Well he could, and the shield could take it, but he had a different idea. Before Brick could land a hit on him, Carbon used the last of his A-Jets to quickly maneuver around the hulking beast to be directly behind him. That's when he slashed his sword horizontally across Bricks back before moving away, albeit slower than previously. His boost of speed was now gone for at least a minute, in a fight where a minute could mean anything and speed is everything. Knowing this Carbon readied his shield and sword for another assault, ready to take the next attack directly if needed.

Time: After morning practice, exact time unknown
Location: North Island New York, the Gate to the Nebula Brigade

572420As more and more people started to appear on the scene, people who she assumed to her future coworkers, she diligently scribbled wrote notes into her little hello kitty note book, ignoring the necessary Courtesy the director was giving them. After doing so she returned the pad to it's original place.

Picking up her bag she eyes the mask, before taking it and putting it also in her bag before leaving the group while everyone else was asking questions, escaping to a nearby porty potty. In exactly after 5 minutes entering she exited, wearing military fatigues and combat armor, the assault rifle strapped to her chest. However her face was covered with a combination of sunglasses and surgical mask plus a spots cap that said "XXXXXXX Girls School Field Hockey Team".

What you thought she was going to wear the mask they offered that was just changed shape to her face out of convenience? Who knows what data they might collect with that.

The girl rejoins regroup and asks a question of her own, though somewhat muffled through the surgical mask;

"Can we get free days off for sporting events?"
