"The pressure felt by a warrior is immense. To learn and study, to continually train your talent, your weapon, your body as a tool for battle. No warrior sets out to lose in battle... Each action taken is a commitment, in the mind of everyone is usually the same voice of reason. The sound of self preservation crying out to survive.
But there is something more crushing then the fear of death.
To be regonised as a master of your talent, to inspire awe in others with the skill in your hands. To remove your fear and move forward confident in your ability... The pressure felt by warriors is immense, but it is the pressure of being a Champion that breaks a regular person"
Rowan Kara -- Grand Champion of Draconig twice in succession.

From the fishing villages dotted along the coast, to the farming towns further inland. Competitions are held every year in Draconig, at the end of each third month under the glow of a full green moon.
The tournaments of power are held and open to all who are confident. With ranks and prize money being given to the top competitors... Many walks of life attend and compete in these events.
But only skilled individuals manage to recieve a rank.

With the allure of prizes and status, the number of applicants each year for these tournaments only grows larger with younger contenders. With the youngest champion in history being the age of eighteen. Parents of particularly talented children would often push their offspring into training.
To focus their efforts on the mana inside them,
while others were talking with girls or farming... you were being forced to study the blade/axe/spear/club/staff/nunchucks/etc....

It was rather shocking to the Draa-wing kingdom when the results of the most recent tournaments had been relayed.
"Fredrick, I dare say this is rather amusing..." grand secretary Deor mused out loud.
"...for the first time in my sixty years of working in the kingdom, this is the largest number of ranks I've seen given to whelps... to think ten children could place in a tournament of power.."

As The first full green moon of the year passed, the first tournaments produced many casualties and a few untimely deaths... But also rumours. History was being made and tales of the newest fighters to recieve a rank spread faster then one could comprehend.

===========================
One man who heard these rumours was a champion many years ago, said man sent his disciples on a task to find these ranked individuals.
If you join this rp you are one of these ranked individuals. You placed in the top 4 of fighters in the tournament local to you and from there will travel the land looking to turn that rank into fortune.

You will quickly join or be forced to join a group of people looking to recruit skilled combatants, the group will take on quests, some mandatory others optional.

They will travel to different locations to participate in tournaments and try to get higher ranks.

They might even get dragged into a world ending catastrophe.

It's another Aerth rp, soft magic is the go. Three players to start, number of spots will be six or seven.

Ask questions here or in a pm.

Heyo

Figure I'd give this a bump and add a bit more.

This rp is set in the lands of Draconig, humans beastkin and flavours/subspecies of elf make this land home. Draconig is located in the southern hemisphere of Aerth,
(A large planet much like earth in the sense it's more water then land)

Nightspawn, orcs, monsters and more plague the globe.
Islands fall from the skies, orcs sail from Blador across the Seas to spread their reach and forever build their armies.
Nightspawn appear from the ground and the air, a constant source of fear for all living creatures.

Though the check mentions children winning you can choose the age of your character. Younger fighters would rely on mana and trickery more so then physical strength and combat ability.

The ten year old whose five feet tall isn't judo flipping a seven foot giant of a hardened brawler for example.
