I'm... actually not entirely sure how to answer this question.
I think I'll try a metaphor(?): If someone offers Adrian a high five, he would not reciprocate because he's no fun. However, if Tsubasa offered him a high five, there's a chance he might actually high five them back. That's the vibe I've been getting from their interactions.
Did that make sense?
