overview.
Our story begins in a forest on the edge of a small town, at night. The party, a ragtag group of wanderers, all with their own unique stories about how exactly they’ve found themselves here, are sitting around a fire. Maybe they’re jovial after a long day of relaxation, perhaps the air is tense after an unfortunate day in town. Either way, none of them are expecting a young girl to pop out of the bushes.
She’s panting, clearly on the run from something and, while each member of the party has their own unfortunate backgrounds, none of them are the type to turn their back on someone so clearly in need of help. So they let her stay the night.
When the group (plus their new friend) wanders into town a few days later, they find what’s seemingly the entire population crowded in the square, listening to a Royal Guard’s announcement:
“-behalf of the Royal Family and Archmage, it’s with our deepest apologies that the awaited coronation of the Archmage’s apprentice, that has been long-scheduled for today, is cancelled. The Archmage’s apprentice has caught an illness and will be taking the appropriate time to recover. No queries will be taken at this time.” With that, the guard joins ranks with the rest of his troops. They march back to the castle; the cast iron front gates slamming shut behind them.
Oh shit, the party thinks, that was supposed to happen today. But surely that has nothing to do with our new member; she’s much too young and frail to possess any sort of magical ability. Besides, there’s no way the Archmage’s apprentice would have access to simple farmer’s clothes or even be able to escape the castle-
Unfortunately (or fortunately for our disguised Chosen One), the party seems to have left their last remaining braincell on the battlefield. Perhaps one day it will come back into their possession, but today is certainly not that day. And obviously something’s wrong; rumors spread quickly that the apprentice is actually missing, given the increased amount of guards around town.
In constant need of money, and always looking for an excuse to be on the move, our party decides to take it upon themselves to hunt down the apprentice (while also slaying their own personal demons, of course).
Cue months of a wild goose chase, crafted on-the-fly by the hidden Chosen One in their midst.
summary.
TLDR;
A dumbass DnD party decides to hunt down the missing Chosen One/Archmage’s apprentice despite not being asked and not even knowing if they’re truly missing, in the hopes of securing a bounty they haven’t been promised in any capacity. On top of that; the Chosen One is hiding among them- which obviously is completely unrelated. Obviously. Don’t ask any questions.
Not to mention, each party member has their own troubled past and monsters to run from (or confront, depending on what your ideas are).
This rp will be written in ‘scenes’ ala ‘episodes’; they’ll overarch into months/seasons. I do have a bare bones plot planned out, but it will be adjusted to include your character’s personal storyline.

the monk.

the level headed one. the mediator. the one with the braincell. strategic. likes to lay back; handles defense. either long distance combat or magic. rather quiet, but is really just a giant dork at their core. staying with the group warms their cold, aged heart. years ago, they lost their family in a tragic accident. they've been on the road since.
the mage.
OPEN
the healer, can also proficiently defend themselves using magic when necessary. a clutz; somehow manages to just scrape out of trouble on a daily basis, but genuinely never means any harm. they've been scorned from their hometown, but why?
the fighter.
OPEN
the muscle. the group’s number one source of protection when all else fails. bull-headed and loud. acts first, thinks second. brash and unforgiving. specializes in sword fighting, may or may not have been kicked out of the royal guard.
the barbarian.

the face. the persuasion.the himbo. usually the monk tells them what to say. is mostly with the group bc they don’t have anywhere else to go. surprisingly good at card games. oozes charm.
the chosen one.

a sorcerer; born in a small town on the other side of the country, raised in the castle found in the town the story starts in. young and naive due to a lack of inexperience with the real world.

This rp is NOT a traditional DnD campaign, and in fact is not a campaign at all. It is solely a group rp inspired by the worlds and aesthetics of DnD. That said, all of our characters will be humanoid and will be represented by realistic face claims only. You do not have to know anything about DnD to be able
to join this group. I, as the GM, know next to nothing about the game so please don’t feel intimidated.

This is an advanced & literate rp. Please love plotting and character development!! There is not a minimum or maximum word requirement, simply write what feels appropriate for your reply. I’m currently setting the reply requirement at once every two weeks- I’m unsure what the reply order will be or if there will be one, but we’ll cross that road when we get there. Discord is required as that’s where OOC will happen; we’ll have an IC thread here on site. The CS thread should be up by the time this is posted; THIS IS NOT FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!!

I’m not sure how I’m coming across as you’re reading this, but I promise I’m super chill and happy to answer any questions you have!! Honestly, I’ll be over the moon if people express even slight interest in this, so if you actually ask me something I might pass out lol. I ask for kindness ooc; this is a zero drama zone, but in the event of disagreements I expect maturity. I will not hesitate to kick and replace you if you cause problems.

Trying not to get ahead of myself but I can already imagine how our characters are gonna annoy each other. Edhem is gonna drive everybody insane with his single braincell.
