Today has been nice.Kind of.
Moving in has been a huge hassle. Like, first, I have to wake up early, and I know I might be writing this and someone is gonna think, "oh Sera's just a quaint little wussy who can't work a 9 to 5", and that's kind of true but I have to bust my butt out of bed at THREE IN THE MORNING!! Because the only flights available were toward five to seven, and with traffic and WAITING, I'd have to get there at least an hour early and I really wanted to push this day to be the day or else my schedule would get thrown to the curbside. So I came in early, and I got my boarding pass in. Awesome, smooth sailing, my bags made it through the metal detector. I'm doing AWESOME. Great. My pass beeps once and turns out, I have a new seat assignment. Not a big deal. Then I realized I hate my life.
Got my carry-on on the overhead. Slick! I'm about to put my headphones in and my neck pillow, and sleep like a baby.
Then the guy an aisle next to me throws up.
Long story short, it was a long hell of Febreeze, perfume, and coffee grounds. I don't even want to write about it, god, I hate my life. Four hours of pain.
Okay, but I'm over it. I already cried about it on Snapchat. But cutting that all out of the picture, I'm going to have to wait at LEAST a week
So, I already phoned in about the apartment room, and the landlord was nice enough to send me pictures of the place. I mean, it's empty, but I wasn't really expecting a whole lot. I guess I'll have to shoehorn in some furniture, not to mention that the apartment room belongs to me! He told me there was also gonna be a roommate. Hopefully, they're nice. I think there's only one bathroom, so...Keep that crap clean. Please!
I'm stoked, but not stoked.
I got a ride to a restaurant nearby the apartment. They were a nice Hawaiian family shop who sold poke bowls and ramen, and as nice as they were, I was so checked out. They were saying something about lilikoi and guava smoothies.
It was 9:45 and I was already ready to crash on the floor. Save meee.
At least she had something in her stomach. That ramen was actually really good. Definitely brightened her spirits up, but she felt like shit right now, so she just reserved her priorities to getting her bags up in her room.
"I think it's...This place..." Her landlord did her the honor of leaving the key in the mail box, which Sera wasn't entirely on-board for, but whatever. If Landlord trusts the neighbors, then so be it.
"Key, key, key..." She unlocked the door to her room, taking a deep breath even before she turned the knob. "New life, Sera. New life!"
She opened it to the vacancy of an entire apartment. And to see someone else there.
Okay, relax, Sera. Confidence!
"Oh, h-hi. You must be the roommate?"
