Fantasy A Friendly Wager (angel/demon; 1x1 starbear & endersheart)

Believe it or not, I'm a really good dancer.'

"Oh, I'd like to see that," Tony said, unable to stop the little grin that crossed his face. "Temptation, though? I mean, unless you forgot, I am a demon. 'Temptation' is my specialty."

He took a step toward her, just to see if she'd pull away from him.

"I'll give you more. All you have to do is ask for it."

She almost melted into him, almost. Instead she stood there with clenched fists glaring at him. A slightly yellow hue glowing from her skin, she was trying absolutely everything to maintain her composure. Was he purposely torturing her? After all, he did this, he was the reason she was constantly fighting an internal battle with herself around him.

She kept herself from stepping back, standing her ground defiantly. Even when he was less than an inch away from her, she only tilted her chin up to meet his gaze. Like hell she would ask. She would be lying if she said everything in her wasn’t yearning for him, but the last thing she wanted to do was give him the satisfaction of admitting it out loud. “It’s funny you’re acting so tough, knowing you probably want it just as bad as me.”

That burning defiance in her eyes did something to him - he knew this was going to be nothing but trouble, but with this spark of desire burning hot inside him, what could be do?

He touched her face, fingers grazing lightly over her skin.

"What if I do?"

She didn’t flinch away, even as the places he touched tingled, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink. “Tony,” the way he was looking at her sent chills down her spine, in a good way. She knew her boss was going to fuss at her later, but she didn’t want to be here anymore. Bringing a hand up to where he was touching she gently grabbed his hand, “let’s go home.”

A part of her was hoping a walk would help, even if deep down she knew it wouldn’t. She would still be around him, she would still want him. What could she do? It wasn’t so bad, was it? Or was her head not working because of how close they were? She wasn’t sure and she didn’t care.

'Let's go home.'

Funny how she was already calling that; funny how natural it sounded to him. They didn't talk on the way back, as if they were both waiting on the other to say something. They didn't let go of each other's hands, either, until Tony turned his key in the door and pulled her inside with him.

"Alright, let's get this out of the way," Tony said, his gaze still fixed on Alula, "What do you want, Alula? Be honest, okay?"

He held his hand up, dark energy swirling around it.

"You don't have to deny yourself with me."

The walk home was silent, in a natural, peaceful way. It left her room to think, even hand-in-hand and with his scent enveloping her. Most of her thoughts surrounded him; what she wanted, how he was acting, the way they were walking holding hands. It made her mind go crazy, she had never wanted anyone this much. She had never wanted anyone in this way at all.

When they were back home, she leaned back against the wall to support herself. With her back against the wall and him so close to her, her mind went fuzzy. The way he was looking at her was driving every part of her insane. She gazed back with those light blue hues of hers, searching for the right words to say. She opened her mouth, then snapped it shut again. Releasing a breath, in an attempt to calm her nerves, she finally worked up the courage to say something. “A lot of things, some of which I can’t say out loud,” she replied.

Looking down at the hand he was holding up, something inside her switched. Before, where she would have said no in a heartbeat, every part of her wanted to take it. Actually, she wanted a lot more than just his hand.

For a moment she felt more exposed in the outfit she was wearing, after a second it faded. She almost wanted him to admire her, for some reason, she craved it. Reaching up, she took ahold of his hand. The feeling of the energy he was offering traveling into her caused her to let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. “Tony,” came her quiet plea.

Tony couldn't take his eyes off of her, and when she said his name like that, small and pleading...well, he was impressed at his ability not to lose his cool demeanor right there on the spot.

"It's okay," he said, softly, "Take as much as you need."

Her blue hues shifted up to his grey ones, taking him in. Still holding his hand, still drinking in the dark energy. It was wrong, she knew that, this was something completely wrong. She shouldn’t be doing it and yet, she couldn’t seem to stop herself. Bringing up her other hand to lightly grab onto his shirt, she pulled him closer. She was surprised he hadn’t lost his cool yet, actually, she was even surprised she hadn’t. It was taking almost everything in her to not do so.

She pulled him closer, and Tony let her - he remembered what she said about temptation, and wondered if she had any idea what she was doing to him.

He'd held back before, because she hadn't asked, because he thought she wouldn't want this, because for some reason he wasn't sure he wanted to be responsible for her fall - but with the need so clear in her voice, and that want so clear in his heart, why hold back? They were both exiles, abandoned by heaven and hell. What did this matter to anyone but themselves?

He cupped her cheek with his free hand, and leaned down as if to kiss her. He stopped short of doing so, though, and said,

"Tell me to stop and I will. Just say the word. But if you don't want me to..."

There was a piece of her heart, maybe more than a piece, that wanted him. Not physically, not in the way she had him right now, but mentally; emotionally. She wanted the part of him that no one else had, had. She couldn’t say it aloud, she wasn’t sure if he would understand, she didn’t fully understand. She just knew it was there, buzzing around in the back of her mind.

Alula had never kissed anyone before, she had never done anything, however when Tony cupped her cheek and leaned over she also went to lean in. She wanted him to kiss her, felt as if she needed it. So when he stopped she whimpered, letting out a tortured whine. She shook her head, “no, don’t stop.. I don’t want you to.” She was going to leave it at that, having a feeling he would listen, but for effect decided to add a, “please.”

Tony wasn't sure what it was that crumbled that last bit of his resolve - the needy sound that escaped her, the way her lips parted eagerly in anticipation, that breathy please - but whatever it was, it was enough. He closed the distance between them, and pressed his lips to hers in a gentle kiss. He didn't exactly want to be gentle, but he held himself back - she was an angel, after all, and with their puritanical attitudes on pleasures of the flesh, it was a good guess that she hadn't ever done this before. No point in getting ahead of himself.

He let his own dark energy flow freely into her, allowing her to take as much as she needed, or wanted, until she was satisfied. At last he leaned back, a small smile curving his mouth.

"Not bad, Angel," he said, tracing her cheek again, "Not bad at all."

He pressed his lips against hers, gently and in a manner that was almost caring. Sparks flew across Alulas skin and her eyes fluttered close. It felt magical. For something she had never done before, simply because the thought had never crossed her mind with anyone, she felt as though she’d been missing out. She had a feeling he was the reason she felt that way, though, and with anybody else she wouldn’t like it nearly as much as she did now. For a moment she didn’t want him to hold himself back, she thought she’d be perfectly okay with him doing whatever he wanted. Yet when he pulled back, breaking their skin-to-skin contact, she snapped back to reality.

A flush spread across her cheeks and nose, a hand coming up to cover her lips. Did his smile really have to be that cute? Did the hand that was on her cheek have to send tingles everywhere he touched? “I-“ they kissed, they really kissed. She didn’t regret it, but that didn’t stop her from being embarrassed now that her system wasn’t consumed by dark energy. “We..” she was at a loss of words, staring up at Tony and stuck on what had just taken place moments ago.

After a moment, his words seemed to finally reach her ears and she looked almost taken aback, “you liked it? That was…” she was going to mention it was her first kiss, but had a feeling he already knew. She wasn’t expecting him to say it wasn’t bad, she wasn’t expecting praise at all. The praise he did give her made her already dark cheeks darken more.

Tony couldn't help laughing a little at Alula's flustered reaction, though there wasn't any mockery in his tone.

"Of course I did," he said, "The better question is, did you?"

Did she like it? It seemed odd he was worried about such a thing. Really, of course she did, if she didn’t she would have pushed him away and it wouldn’t have been so trance like. Alula glanced to the side, away from his gaze for a second so she could think straight. Finally, she looked up at him and nodded, “I think so, but do it again so I can make sure.” Did she really need the confirmation? No, but she would have been too embarrassed to ask for another kiss in a more straightforward manner.

Tony's smile broadened into a grin.

"Gladly."

He leaned in to kiss her again, a little more insistently this time. He didn't want to go too fast, not yet, not when all this was clearly so new to her - better that she be sure of herself, confident in what she wanted. Sure, temptation was his job, but he'd never liked the idea of forcing anyone into anything - which was why he eventually pulled away from her, putting a small distance between them despite his own reluctance to do so.

"We should probably take this slow," he said, "I don't want you to hold back, but I also don't want you to do anything you might regret later."

Her eyes fluttered closed again, the kiss feeling just as magical as before. This one seemed to contain more hunger, more rawness and she, once again, didn’t want it to end. She made sure to kiss him back this time, just as passionately. When he pulled away and took a few steps back, she opened her eyes. It was surprising he was being so gentle, that he was being so careful.

He mentioned taking this slow and she let out an unexpected laugh. It wasn’t because he was upsetting her, but quite the opposite. His request to take things slow, to care about her needs and wants, it surprised her more than she’d like to admit. Bringing a finger up and wiping a tear out of her eye, she smiled, “geez, Tony, that was the plan all along, wasn’t it?” It was a teasing response, she knew how hard holding back probably was for him, after all, it was hard for her too. “To take this slow, I mean,” she confirmed.

He let out a soft laugh.

"Yeah, I guess so. Looks like we're on the same page."

Truth be told, he needed a moment to gather his own thoughts too - this had just taken a sharp turn he hadn't expected. How had he gone from corrupting a human to falling for an angel? This was really not how things were supposed to go, but...glancing at Alula, he couldn't say he was unhappy with the unexpected development. Yes, it would be trouble for both of them if they were found out - even demons, who generally were of an 'anything goes' mindset, consorting with angels was a taboo - but what did they really have to worry about for now? They'd go slow, and enjoy each other's company. Surely, there was nothing wrong with that.

But as it turned out, trouble would find them anyway.

He didn't think too much about Alula's work - he thought it was a little silly that she thought she had to go to a job when they could just sweet talk their way into getting whatever they wanted from humans, but that was part of what made her an angel and him a demon, he guessed - and so he said nothing when she went in for her next shift, aside from a lighthearted request to see her 'in uniform' again. He was summarily denied, of course, but he could always hope she'd still be wearing her revealing get up when she came home.

Except...she hadn't come home yet.

An hour had passed before he really noticed the time. He could maybe write that off as her taking a detour with a friend, or working over for a while, but when one hour turned to two, he started worrying. She wasn't answering her phone, either - after several calls went ignored, he headed out towards the casino to see if he could find out where she'd gone.

Her and Tony had been nothing short of the usual. The demon still posed his flirtatious questions, she still did her usual denial. It was almost like nothing had happened. Except, in the back of her mind, she knew something had. She had fallen for someone completely against her morals, for someone who, if she was still in heaven, would cause an uproar. The worst part was, whilst following in her sisters footsteps, she realized one thing; she was completely content with it. The change, the undeniable affection she had for him, it didn’t make her unhappy at all. Yet, staring up at her captor, she wondered if she could have made different decisions that wouldn’t have gotten her wound up in this mess.

“You are a little snarky for an angel, aren’t you?” The demons question got a curt, unamused laugh from Alula, “oh, I’m sorry, did you expect to literally drag me here, tie me up, and still have me in a perfectly good mood?” She kept herself from rolling her eyes, knowing fully well if she irritated the demon he would potentially do more than hurt her. It wasn’t like she had been overly snappy, she just wasn’t being nice. “So, you and that demon-“

“are none of your business,”
she cut him off. That was enough to make the mans eye twitch, the same man that Tony had quite literally beat up just the other day. “Listen here, you-“ as he took a step closer Alula’s eyes narrowed and she scowled, “if you touch me I’ll kill you. That’s not a threat, it’s a promise.” Her words were enough to make the demon falter, staring at her in total shock. It wasn’t the smartest thing to say restrained and surrounded, but she wasn’t really in the mood to play sweet and innocent.

After a moment, the demon let out a short lived laugh. He stepped back, though, enough to give her some space. If her words had bothered him, he didn’t let it show too much. Instead, he whispered something to another one of the demons. Alula tensed as a wide smirk crossed over the others face, “well, whatever angel, we’re not doing this for you anyway.. I just want him.”

The him they were referring to was Tony, Alula had known that this whole time. She wasn’t certain how they knew for a fact he would ‘come to her rescue,’ but they were pretty convinced he would. Something about leaving a guy back at her job, someone to give him the message and location. The main demon waved her off, turned and shrugged, “do whatever you want with her, I don’t care.”

Tony scowled at the darkened warehouse looming above him. Alula was in there - the lackey left behind at the casino had told him as much, sneering until Tony had punched the smug grin off his face. But more than that he could sense her, like a light shining in the darkness.

And there was a *lot* of darkness here.

He wasn't sure how many demons were there, but no matter what he was outnumbered. If a fight went down, could he hold his own? Could he save her? His hands clenched into fists at his sides; there was nothing he could do but try.

He walked in with a casual air, hands in his pockets, as if he were just out for a stroll. He cast a brief glance around, and counted at least four other demons, including the one he'd bested the other night. He pointedly avoided looking at Alula for now, though he was more aware of her presence than anything else in the room - he couldn't risk giving away how much he wanted to free her though, not with so much unknown.

"I got your message," Tony said, keeping his voice carefully cool. "Seems like you went to an awful lot of trouble to get me here. Sorry to let you down, but you know, you're really not my type."

Alula glared up at the demon looming over her, bright blue eyes narrowed into thin slits. Even with the blood smeared next to her mouth she hadn’t so much as let out a whimper. There would be no point and in reality she’d rather conserve her energy. Bruises and cuts were scattered over her body, littering her skin in blues and purples and red. She would be lying if she said everything in her wasn’t fuming.

All of this, for what?

That question was soon answered as a voice sounded throughout the clearing, the demon in front of her stepping to the side so she could peer over at the redhead. He had actually came for her, even with everything that had been going on she hadn’t been certain he would. She kept herself from calling out to him after having noticed he was avoiding looking at her on purpose. He had probably noticed her presence the second he stepped in the room, after all, her aura was different.

She shifted a bit, noting that the ropes were a lot looser than before. If the one demon wasn’t paying any mind to her, she could probably struggle out completely. “Tony,” came a content voice, one that sounded like it had just won the lottery. The demon that had wanted him here, “you came.” She wanted to roll her eyes and spit a “no shit, Sherlock” but knew the party keeping an eye on her would surely rip her throat out if she did. It wasn’t her place to speak and the last time she had they didn’t take very kindly to it, the wounds on her body said that enough.

Finally, the demon next to her seemed to become completely uninterested and, in a moment of curiosity, let his guard down. Stepping closer to the others and farther from her, she shifted again. This time it was to get out of her bounds over comfort. Wiggling her wrists, she pulled them out of her confinements, reaching down and slipping her feet out of the other. Oh, boy, was she going to wreak havoc.

Her gaze shifted around the place, scanning over a small, circular pipe-like piece of metal not far from her in the corner. The area, thankfully, was also out of eyesight from the demons who were currently all turned away from her. “I wanted to teach you a lesson to get even, for the other day, ya’know?” The deep voice of the leader rung out, continuing his conversation with Tony. Alula took the chance to slip out of the chair quietly and without so much as a peep, retrieve the piece of metal from the end of the room.

Once she had it in her possession, she shifted to scowl at the man who had her feeling so angry in the first place. The one who, in all regards, had been the most ecstatic to beat her and cause her any sort of pain. She took slow, threatening steps in his direction, more than happy he was in the back. It made this all the more easy. Before she reached him she tapped the metal on the ground making a clank echo throughout the room. It was too late by the time the man had turned around, like she had planned, the pipe was slammed against his face.

The noise of his body falling caused the demons in the room to spin around and, with a darkened face, Alula slammed the pipe down on his head two more times. Blood flew, the demons body twitched almost lifelessly. Demons weren’t weak by any means, but down here they played by the same rules as humans. They were fragile, just like Angels were on Earth. Alula hesitated, blood now scattered across her right cheek as she stared down at, what she assumed, was a corpse. When the demon on the floor shifted she flinched and, without hesitation, slammed the pipe down one more time. This time, it was enough to make a crack resonate through the place.

Alula’s body relaxed, a pool of blood surrounding the demons head that was curved inwards. Glowering up at the other three, she didn’t have to so much as raise a hand for them to step back. Completely in shock by, what was supposed to be, a heavenly angels actions. She didn’t drop the pipe, making her way towards the only one in this room she knew could bring her some sort of comfort. Whether the demons didn’t want to face her wrath or they knew they wouldn’t let them leave anyway, they let her go. Once she reached Tony she glanced up at him, but without waiting for a comment dropped the piece of metal and slowly wrapped her arms around him. Burying her face into his chest she let out a whimper.

Whatever dark tendencies she had felt drifted out of her mind, consumed with his scent instead.

Tony had been prepared for a fight, but nothing would have prepared him for the sickening 'crack' that rang out as Alula hit one of the demons with a heavy pipe. He stood just as shocked as the rest of them as she beat the demon until he went completely still; in the aftermath of that brutality the room went preternaturally still, heavy with shocked silence and the acrid scent of blood.

Still, he opened his arms to her without hesitation when she rushed toward him, his heart clenching at the sound of her tiny whimper. One of the remaining demons made the mistake of moving - towards them or just to check on the remains of their companions, he wasn't sure, but all the same Tony's eyes flared red and his voice took on a dangerous edge.

"Leave. Now. And if you ever show your faces on this plane again, I'll destroy even your souls."

Maybe it was witnessing the carnage wrought by an angel, or maybe they understood the reality of that threat, but either way the remaining demons hurriedly dispersed, leaving Tony and Alula alone in the empty space.

"It's okay," Tony said, voice soothing as he focused back on her. He couldn't see all of the damage they'd done, but he'd seen enough bruises and scrapes on her to know it had been bad. "It's okay. It's over now."

There was a part of her that was still tense until the demons left, even enveloped in Tony’s arms. Once they were gone, her body fully relaxed and she let out a quiet breath of relief. She was surprised there wasn’t more of a fight, yet content with the outcome. “You came,” she whispered, knowing fully well she shouldn’t have expected him to abandon her. He had always come to her rescue; when his friends were taunting her he offered her a place to stay, when the demon outside of the cafe wanted her, for whatever reason, he protected her, and this time he had come to save her.

She snuggled into him a little more, ignoring the dull ache that was her body. His soothing words wrapping her in a gentle, tranquil state. “I missed you,” she cooed.

There was a moment of silence, uncertainty on her part, “I’m sorry.” She was, for causing such a ruckus and making him come all the way here. She was also sorry for the scene that had just played out, the one she caused. Lastly, she was apologizing for making him worried. If he had made his way out here, he had likely been very concerned about her. She had never wanted any of this to happen.

Letting him go, reluctantly, she only took a step back so she could gaze up at him. “Can we go home?” She, personally, didn’t want to be here a second longer, especially not with the scent of the demons blood in the air. Later, she felt as if the weight on her heart would be heavier than it was now, for in the moment, she didn’t care about the demons life.
