A Big Catch

Hydra had been swimming to all sorts of new places, she couldn't understand how so many merpeople lived in the oceans now. It was salty and just outright unpleasant. She preferred only crossing the oceans to get into new rivers that would soon turn into lakes. Fresh water made her feel healthy, she loved living in the clear waters of a lake or a large river. A few months back she had discovered this lake, she noticed that a town seemed to be near it also some tribes of different racial creatures. She spent most her time up at night, but last night she wasn't so lucky. There was no moon out, so the water was quite dark and she supposed one of the tribes left fishing nets out in the water over night and the worst padt was, it was dark rope. She had been trapped in the net all night, fighting trying to break free. After hours a squirming and flapping her tail about, she had passed out from exhaustion, her sleeping in the neck unaware that it was mornkng already. @Shadows.Whisperac7734816043c04b35047d4bf2ca1f57-1.jpg

With the morning it brought a singular person traveling along the roadside. Her eyes watching the horizon and listening to the sounds of the birds chirping as she walked. Her name was Mitra of the Lotharie Tribe of the Viera peoples. Tall and lithe with a curvaceous body and long, silver hair. The unique thing about her was however; the Large Rabbit ears that sat atop her head with fur a reddish-orange like that of a fox. She was one of her tribe's best hunter's and breeders, but today she was merely a fisherman; not a guardian to the forests and her tribe. She walked the trail to the lake with nothing but a basket on her shoulder to carry the fish she had hoped her nets had gathered. With no moon to light the waters she had hoped this method would trap many fish as it did people in her woods. Coming up to the water she smiled as she set aside her bucket and began to pull the nets in one by one, some empty; others with decent hauls of fish. Coming to the last that housed Hydra she Grasped the ropes with both hands as she felt the weight of the net. Thinking it to be a large fish she pulled on the line with her amazonian strength, slowly dragging the unknowing mermaid onto shore.
