overview.
Ivy Rose Academy: a prestigious school located in the hills of Los Angeles, nestled in one of the richest neighborhoods of the city. For years, it was funded and led by Jasmine Rose, an ex-CEO who had sold out of her company, and wanted a better opportunity for her younger daughter, Ivy. (Yeah, totally clever school name, right?)
For a while, the school maintained its status as a private academy with a rigid acceptance and a hefty tuition. For a while, the acceptance was high, and the academy started to expand -- and then, as more schools in the same sector started to pop up with cheaper tuitions and less arduous standards, the academy's tuition started to drop.
So... the only option was clear: open it up to the public, drop standards altogether. So now? The school has an odd mixture of high profile students, rich students, along with the absolute scum of Los Angeles. Fun, right? Totally not weird.
about
about the rp.
So this is basically a high school roleplay, that will eventually be a kind of elevator school. Basically, students that do go to this school will be able to attend the accompanying university later (gives us something to do with the seniors once the year is over).
Each approximate school year will be a "season" with each roleplay skip serving as a kind of episode. Of course, not all of the skips are laid out, so... there will be a chance to suggest skips and we're just kind of rolling with the punches.
As far as character creation goes, it's a fairly open book. Your character can be from wherever, and some of the characters from some more well-known families (example: one of the characters in the daughter of the mayor), so yeah, fame is definitely lowkey a thing.
We will also be using Discord for OOC conversations and a lot of organizing. If you're interested, just comment below, and I'll send you a link to the server! Thank you!

rule one.
Literacy. I ask for a minimum of 2-3 paragraphs that are at least four-five lines each. Obviously if you can't reach this every time, that's perfectly okay -- it happens, and we all have bad muse, or it's just the kind of interaction that does better with shorter, more rapid-fire responses. That's fine. However, I do ask for this as a general minimum,
rule two.
No mary-sues, no gary-stus, none of those perfect characters. I want characters that make mistakes. I want characters that feel as if they could hop off the page and walk through my front door. Kind of. You get what I mean. Realism.
rule three.
Keep your OOC drama to a minimum. Or better yet, non-existent. If you're uncomfortable with someone or have any kind of issues, my DMs are always open, so feel free to message me with any concerns.
