Character Rules.

✦ This story needs a lot of characters so feel free to make as many characters as you can handle. The only limitation on characters is that you may only have 1-2 characters in positions of power. This means you can't have the High Lord of Wind Court and the High Lord of River Court.

✦ You are free to chose how your character feels about the humans and the other courts and their stance on the wall, just keep in mind that the Vampires and Werewolves typically want it down while the humans and witches want to keep it up, while the Night Court is pretty in the middle. As long as your reasoning makes sense your character can have whatever ambitions and political stances you want.

✦ Appearance wise, each species is different. Vampires tend to be pale (though they can have any skin color), with red eyes, fangs, and bat-like wings.

✦ For faceclaims, since this is fantasy you can use drawn art but it would be helpful to include a realistic faceclaim as well

Skin: While her skin is pale, her face at first looks like it is painted. It is in fact, the black and white shapes being a sign of her unique gift.

Wardrobe: Most of the clothes in the deathwitches repertiore are white and black. Its sort of a theme with her. She can usually be found wearing shirts and pants rather than dresses.

Personality:

The presence of Mara Moriendi is intimidating. A witch older than most, rumored to have control over life and death. The eerie silence that she keeps herself shrouded in does little to help this impression. But the woman believes that it is best to speak when something has to be said, not for the sake of speaking alone. Due to that, she often rather listens, only speaking up when she is either presented with a question or feels that something important has to be added to the conversation.
Many rumors say her to be a cold monster, that plays with the lives of creatures for pure sadistic pleasure. Though those that spend time getting to know the witch will soon find that to be untrue. She is kind at heart, but her silent nature often fails to reveal that. She enjoys helping whoever winds up at her door, though she is always aware of the consequences of her actions and will never take a decision she finds to be outweighed by what it would cause. Mara claims that he who dances with death has to be careful never to lose the lead. And she does her very best to adhere to her own advice.

Motivations: Mara's motivation is to preserve the natural balance of life and death, seeing it as key for sustained existence in the world. She believes the creation of vampires and werewolves and as thus the fate that humans would suffer at their hands to be the witches responsibility and therefore is a strong advocate to take care of exactly that issue with measures such as the wall.

Abilities:
The powers of Mara all relate to life, death and souls. There are many rumors to what she can do, some true, some not.

Skeletal Servant
Mara is able to summon simple skeletons at will. These beings require no soul to be created, but due to that, are not sentient. They do what they are told, but lack the ability to improvise or think, making them useful for simple tasks, but not much more.

Soul Jar
Mara can imbue certain containers with part of her magic. These containers become soul jars, vessels capable of catching and containing the soul of a creature. The soul can be captured by holding the jar towards a dying creature. It does not work on creatures that are not currently in the process of deceasing. While these captured souls can be used to perform a variety of other abilities, they can also be strong alchemical components.

Whispers from the Grave
In a time consuming ritual, Mara is able to talk to the souls of those that have died, granted that she has that soul in a jar or the corpse when performing the ritual. The conciousness of the soul will be able to answer simple questions and knows only what it knew in life. Answers are usually brief, cryptic, or repetitive. The soul can't learn new information, doesn't comprehend anything that has happened since it died, and can't speculate about future events.

Summon Undead
While at first, it may seem similar to the Skeletal Servant ability, this is what could be considered its enhanced version. Requiring a captured soul, Mara creates a unique undead. This creature has no relation to the previous life of the soul. It is a new entity, however is sentient. These undead are similar to humans in their capabilities. However, the soul will not remain in the body indefinetly, usually leaving its forced form after a few days. It can be recaptured and using it to summon an undead again will result in the same entity, with memories of the last time it was called.

Life Transference
Mara is able to transfer the life force of one creature into another. That enables her to heal the wounds of people, at the expense of needing another creature that will suffer an amount equal to what was healed.

Disrupt Life
In a wave of dark energy, Mara is able to disrupt the life force of those around her. This does not inflict any damage, however, it will disable any form of regenerative or restorative ability for a little while and make those that usually are immune to mundane damage susceptible to it.

Revivify
When presented with the captured soul and the recently deceased body of a creature, Mara is able to perform a ritual that will unite them once more. However, this ritual does not repair the body to any degree. If the creatures form is injured in a way that cannot sustain life, the ritual will fail.

Resurrection
Similar to Revivify this ability allows for a ritual to defy death. However, it is much more powerful. Requiring the captured soul and incredibly rare compotents, Mara is able to revive a creature into a new body, that will match their old form. This can be performed at any point, as long as the soul has been captured when the creature died. The components for this ritual are so incredibly costly, that Mara has rarely ever performed it.

Aura of Dread
Less of an active ability, the powers of life and death have taken a toll and shifted Maras aura. Anybody that stays within her vicinity will feel a strong sense of dread directed no particular reason. However, it seems that those, who truly consider her a friend, are immune to this effect.

The Undying
Her control over life and death has led Mara to cease aging. Neither does she need to eat, sleep or drink, even though she has the ability to do these things. She can still die to unnatural causes of death.

Strengths:
Wisdom
Due to her age and reclusion, Mara has had a lot of time to ponder many of the things that transpire. Her perspective is often a unique one.

Monopoly
There are many that still owe Mara favors, as they have required her services before.

Legion
They might not be strong or smart or quick... But those skeletons sure can be many.
Weaknesses:
Pacifist
While Mara carries a sword and kind of knows how to use it, she is anything but a fighter. Any trained soldier will easily best her.

Creepy
Most people cannot stand being around her, as her Aura of Dread will usually quickly get the better of them. That also leads to her not being incredibly popular.

Feared, not respected
A witch like Mara is bound to cause rumors and those often happen to be negative. While nobody doubts her ability, many find her magic to be "unnatural" and fear her for her powers. That is a difficult standing for a council member to have.

Background:
Mara is a fairly old witch and has lived through a lot. She grew up rather eventless, though quickly learning that her powers were unlike any that another witch seemed to have displayed before. The more she learned about them, the more she realized the responsibilites that came with them. In her early years, Mara eagerly collected souls where she found them, though she never actively killed somebody to obtain their soul. Still, with the humans that sometimes ended up lost in the forests, there was a steady supply of dying creatures.
With time, she learned to see the delicate balance of life and death with new eyes, saw her own influence over it, but also saw how it needed to always be kept in check for things to be in order. Her unique powers and insights, along with her wise words, earned her a spot on the council when she was barely 70 years old.

Things changed when the vampires and werewolves came into being. The human population was almost extinct in the blink of an eye and many witches advocated that there must be action from the council. Mara was among these advocates, knowing that the life of humans could not be allowed to extinguish. However, she also knew that there was already too great of a population of vampires and werewolves to rid of them all. Due to that, Mara was part of a faction in the council that came up with the wall solution.

Ever since then, Mara has retreated to a lone cabin in the woods. Only coming to the court for council meetings or when especially asked to, she has lived reclused from most. When she was needed, people would seek her out, come to her cabin and leave once they had receieved the assistance they came for. This pattern led to many rumors about her, as words carried on over the years, then centuries. Mara never cared for what the people said about her, allowing these rumors to spread like a cancer in the entirety of the nothern forests.

Nowadays, everybody has heard about the Deathwitch, a woman with a face white like bone and hair black like tar. A witch able to command life and death, snatching the souls of those that are unlucky enough to get on her bad side. A woman that lived far withdrawn in a cabin where the rotting corpses of her previous victims seemed to dance. Old as time, being in the sheer presence of this terifying creature would suffice to syphon the life force of any poor creature caught in her glare. That was how the rumors depicted her.

Personality: Jax is young and still has much to learn when it comes to socializing. His arrogance offends others, his cockiness gets him into physical altercations (hes won more than lost), and his temper gets him into all sorts of trouble (and is often the motive behind his poor and rash decisions). He is capable of working in a team (if others can tolerate him) but prefers to be alone so that he can do what ever he desires. Jax is selfish and really only looks after himself. He goes where ever theres money and women, his pay is probably the only reason he agreed to be the captain of the Forest Court's guard some years ago, that and the attention he received from his female counterparts. His independence has forced him to be more of a mercenary now, but still wears his warrior spirit with pride.

Jax is wild and unpredictable. As a human hes a little more easy to persuade (if you can penetrate that thick skull of his) but as a wolf he runs on pure animal instinct. Many of his human/wolf traits overlap each other especially when he feels like he has to "assert his dominance". And if he doesn't like you, the charismatic, energetic smart ass everyone loves is over shadowed by a vicious, snappy animal who's guided by raging hormones and adrenaline.

Over all hes a nice guy when you look past the narcissism and selfishness. He really has no loyalty or allegiance to anyone but himself. He just goes through life doing what feels right to him in the moment, even if others don't share the same view.

Background: Jax wont speak much on his childhood. There was no tragedy involved but more because there really wasn't much of a childhood to begin with. Jax never met his parents and doesn't even know the story of how he ended up alone at such a young age. At around 9 years old, the former captain of the Forest Court's guard saw him as an opportunity to create the perfect warrior. Starting off so young will teach him discipline, stamina, and self control. The Captain molded him into a fierce fighter with his fists first, then at 12 years old stuck a sword in his hand. He lived the life of a soldier, never had friends his own age, never played games, and was never nurtured. He only knew a warriors life and became one, as was planned. By 18 he was in the Forest Court's guard, along side his Captain.

Build: Bruno is of the thinner looking side, he looks to have no muscular build. He is somebody who looks to not win in a fight. However, he has super strength due to his powers.

Wardrobe: Bruno wears mainly dark looking clothing, things like leather and ripped jeans. Your typical gothic looking guy, going along with that typical vampire style. Although, Bruno dose pull of a suit and sometimes wears them which can surprise people. His suits tend to be red and black or just the colours on there own.

Personality:

Bruno is your typical ‘Troubled child aesthetic’ he’s very immature and arrogant. He thinks he’s better then people because of his talents and because of what he is, being a full blooded vampire. He looks down on those who are not, especially humans. Though those who are higher ranked then him he shows slight respect but still holds are attitude which can sometimes be a issue with him. However, deep down in his cold black heart theres something ’sweet’ there although they have to be close to Bruno to experience this side of him. Very close to Bruno, or even if he feels they are worthy of it.

Motivation: Bruno is motivated to keep things as they are and having Vampires at the top of the food chain, he’s not that fond of half breeds and especially humans. he believes Vampires are superior hence why they should be at the top of the chain.

Powers:
Super strength: Bruno has super strength which allows him to brake things easily and knock people /things out he understand things have limits to what they can take however. Though another benefit is he can control the amount of his strength he uses.

Toxicity: Brunos nails hold a toxic liquid, meaning if he can get close enough to something he can inject poison into there blood system by cutting them with said nails. Though sometimes this can be difficult as he needs to get close as mentioned. This dose not effect him however. He can choose who to use this upon, and there can be limitations.

Quickness: Bruno is rather fast and swift, he dose not exactly use it in the way he’s meant to as he dose not tend to focus. With being so hot headed and arrogant he mainly focuses on his strength and toxicity power. So it’s something he needs to improve upon.

Wind Control: Bruno has the power to control the wind, more of a defensive technique as he can use it to push his enemy’s back, or even to try and injure them with the volume and power of it.

Weakness

Arrogance: As mentioned prior with his arrogance and attitude Bruno tends to to face first into battles relying on his other abilities meaning he can be a open target. He is mostly a brawler

Focus: He dose not really focus in battles, he never anticipates his targets next move or expect the unexpected. He usually bases targets on others he has beaten thinking they are likely going to fight like they once did.

Sunlight : As most Vampires Bruno has a weakness to Sunlight


Background:

Bruno was born as a pure blooded vampire, his parents unfortunately died by unforeseen circumstances. Which left Bruno defenceless and having to fend for himself. Which he mostly managed to handle down to his powers, though also leading to the reason he depends on it. And because he never really learned how to deal in situations without his power.

Overtime as Bruno grew up by himself he begun to learn fully about the situation that happened Between the different Species that lived on this land. Which grew his anger against half breeds and humans, he felt disgusted by the way they mixed blood lines together. And he was not a fan of humans either way. Though with the witches building the wall, he could not deal with this situation alone. However, after searching for a way he could do this it lead Bruno to joining the Wind court. Bruno felt along with them and there similar shared ideals, together they could take down these disgusting creations and have Vampires on the top of the food chain.

Although with joining Wind court, Bruno needed to learn about hierarchy and where he stood. With his immaturity, arrogance, attitude and all around hot headed behaviour. It took him awhile to understand he had to show respect to his higher ranked allies. Though, Bruno still held his attitude as he felt changing his ways was a weakness. A disgusting weakness that if he let his walls down, he would easily be manipulated as I’m some ways he felt being kind and loving was weak. Bruno is a rather complicated Guy.

Personality: Cornelius is a bright individual who's outlook on life hasn't been dogged by his poor fortune. He's happy with his life as a servant and though would enjoy finer things, is not actively seeking them. He's very dog-like in his mannerisms and is a bit more feral than his witch counterparts, though maybe not as feral as his werewolf ones. He enjoys the company of others and is a tad territorial of his things. But despite his tendency to be protective of those he serves, he's altogether just a big magical puppy.

Weaknesses: new things can either make him anxious and nervous or excited, it's a toss up, physically weak, prone to headaches and has poor health at certain times, works himself too hard
Background: Cornelius' story begins maybe a week old on a young witch's doorstep in the middle of a calm rainy night. Of course his little whimpers and wails woke the whole block, the witch, a woman by the name of Visha, easily took him in. From there he grew up in court, a servant of higher witches. Everyone around him would inevitably try and teach him magic, but would only get so far before it just wouldn't work for the young half-breed. Corn has had a relatively uneventful life and sheltered by the court's witches and his own adoptive mother, he retains a certain childlike innocence and naivete that often others who have had it rough are not endeared to. Despite that, he's still a friendly wolf-witch.

  • Though he'd rather slice his hands off before admitting it, he desperately yearns to know who he was before his awakening (Ambition)
Abilities:

Alden is immortal meaning he can live forever but his name implies he isn't the only reaper out there to exist. There are many that exist all at one time in different places around the world; Alden just so happens to be in charge of Temarona's residents. There were many before him and there will be many after him. Though he is immortal he is not invincible. He can be killed just as any fae can but once he dies then Temarona must await the emergence of another reaper to claim the souls of their dead. There is no telling when or how long it will take but the sheer thought of loved ones lying helpless in their decaying bodies is enough to deter most from an attempt on Alden's life.

Alden also has the power of death's touch. To do his job effectively Alden has been gifted with the ability to pull souls of the dead from their bodies and dissipate them; allowing them to move on. This ability only works on those who are fully dead however. Alden cannot reap a soul that is still clinging to the last strands of their body's life; he must wait for their final breath.

Another one of Alden's special abilities is his spine chill. Alden will get a slight chill when there are souls in need of reaping nearby. If he so chooses to ignore his duty the chill will grow worse and worse until he is cold as ice to the touch and his breath comes out in wafts of white steam. He has even been known to let the tips of his hair frost during a few drunken stupors while avoiding his duty.

Lastly, there are many souls to reap in all of Temarona thus Alden's last gift is one called the blip. He can instantly warp himself using fae magic to wherever he pleases within Temarona to easily access souls in need of his assistance. This ability only works for himself; he cannot warp with someone hanging onto to him and he cannot bring them with him. Unfortunately for him, this ability also only works in Temarona. If he so chooses to abandon his post and cross the borders of Temarona the blip ability will cease to function. If there is an area or room in Temarona with wards or protective spells, Alden may also be unable to enter depending on the strength of said wards and spells.

Strengths:

Alden has strength beyond the average fae but he is still considered a baby fae; young. He is somewhere on the scale of strength between leveling a stone shed with a single punch to breaking his knuckles if he attempted the same stunt on a large, stone house.

Alden prefers not to fight and thus has become very proficient with his blip. Enemies would have a very difficult time catching Alden as he would simply blip second after second out of their reach until he was safely escaped.

Weaknesses:

Alden has a great many weakness. As with many fae, iron can make him fatigued and in great volumes can even make him physically ill. In it's presence Alden finds himself on the cranky side with slight headaches.

Background:

Alden doesn't have much of a history. He doesn't remember anything before he became a reaper. His past life, whatever it was, is all a mystery to him. All he can remember is awakening one day in a chamber surrounded by many sullen faces. They introduced themselves as reapers and explained to Alden that one of theirs had been killed and now it was his turn to take up the torch for Temarona. Alden asked many questions but was met with no answers. None of them knew who they were before they too woke up just like Alden. They were given a new name, their new work details, and their work parameters. Everything else was up to them to figure out but they were just as lost about their purpose as Alden found himself.

Kipp is driven by curiosity. She is friendly to all and excited to adventure at a moment's notice. She doesn't speak much but is very animated with her gestures. She is easily excitable and also enraged; it takes very little to drive her to any emotion. Kipp is also mischievous! She loves playing pranks, pulling hair, reciting jokes. She doesn't take into account that not every moment is a good moment for a joke and will say them even during inappropriate times. Lastly, Kipp is greedy. She loves anything that glimmers or shines to the point of nabbing them when possible and hoarding them. Like a dragon protecting it's treasure, Kipp never has enough shiny items.

Abilities:
  • Kipp is a traditional fae that is often described in various mythologies. She can morph into anything she'd like in seconds - a tree, a bird, a barrel, etc. She often uses this morph skill to escape danger after a heist.
  • Kipp can also change the size of herself or whatever she morphs into but this bears no effect on the strength of her being. If she morphs into a lion and increases it's size, it will still be the same weight and strength of a normal lion.
  • Kipp has an ability called Fae's kiss. If she kisses someone's bare skin she can force them into a deep slumber. She can also wake them from this slumber if need be but the host should awaken with a few hours naturally.

Background:

Kipp was born to a village woman impregnated by a fae. Kipp's mother passed away shortly after the childbirth and the fae responsible for her conception was never revealed. Growing up in a small human village in Temarona, Kipp was thought to be human until she began exhibiting odd behaviors such as morphing her body parts at random. This terrified the human villagers and they quickly threw out the young fae. This didn't stop Kipp from sneaking back into the village many times however. She stole food and slept in barns to survive but Kipp wasn't ever upset with the state of her life. It all seemed like one giant adventure for her, each heist a new quest. Stealing and playing pranks on villagers was a life she was happy with.

Abilities: Kaden is of the Ra'Ira werewolf clan. The Ra'Ira are a very strong bloodline who have bred themselves for peak physical strength and combat at the cost of all magic. They call their hybrid form their Ra'Ira or warform- a monstrous beast that is nearly unstoppable, capable of shredding metal, crushing stone and taking a lot of damage. It knows only barely controlled rage and violence against anything and anyone (even allies if they're not careful), so the Ra'Ira use it sparingly and can only stay in it for a short time. It takes an extremely strong-willed individual to be in proximity to a Ra'Ira in their warform and not run in terror.

Because of their lack of magic and often times diplomacy, the Ra'Ira are rarely accepted into positions of political power in the Forest Court, but they are highly sought after as mates or bodyguards for people who want some muscle close by.

Weaknesses: Ashwood and silver. His control over his inner beast is tentative, even for a Ra'Ira.

Personality: Silas has a natural aura of confidence and narcissism. His insatiable lust for power and control is only matched by his sadistic enjoyment of lording it over others. Outwardly however, he is usually all charm and will happily give respect where it has been earned. He is calculating and manipulative; he will happily let his enemies underestimate what he is capable of until he's ready to make a move.

Motivations: Beyond his constant desire for power in the Wind Court, Silas wants to see vampires as a whole ruling over humanity. He's also got killing the werewolves on his bucket list- cuz you know, why not?

Abilities: Silas is one of the older vampires in the Wind Court, and therefore one of the more powerful. Exactly how powerful he is is yet to be discovered, as he's been gone for a long time and plays his cards close to the vest. Silas possesses the traditional vampire abilities of superhuman strength, speed and endurance, although he has spent more time honing his speed than the other two. Beyond those, Silas has spent years mastering his magic abilities.

Charm/Dominate. Silas can channel his magic to temporarily manipulate the actions and emotions of others. He prefers to be subtle about it, using the magic in a seductive way to be convincing, which is usually enough against weaker-willed subjects. Against stronger opponents who resist him, he can impose his will with more force to issue commands, but this takes more effort.

Blood bond. The magic of Silas's mind control powers seeps through his blood. Creatures who drink it on three separate occasions before its affects have worn off will become enthralled to him through a powerful bond.

Strengths: handsome, charming, potent magic

Weaknesses: Can be killed by ashwood. Over-confidence. Sunlight.

Personality: Quorra is a very strange person to meet. You'll either find her entertaining and exciting or you'll be so weirded out you dont want to see her ever again. She is the epitome of unpredictable, not just her decisions but the very way she carries herself. Quorra has no want for power, nor status, or love. Any relations shes had was strictly for her endgame, her goal. Shes extremely patient and lies waiting till she sees her opportunity in getting what she wants. She'll tell you that she owes no allegiance to anyone, and theres transparency in that. Shes spent years traveling between several courts but only spends an extended amount of time at one for business reasons. Quorra almost has no reason to lie and so never does (which makes her unexpectedly very trusted), infact she loves the idea that telling the truth can often stirr chaos and after setting it off she'll sit back and watch the consequences unfurl. On the surface Quorra seems very erratic and dangerously two-sided, but once you get to know her you'll see shes actually very smart and likes to play mastermind. I think most people are so thrown off by the predatory look in her eye, that they dont see all the little gears turning in her pretty little head.

Shes not an instigator, however, at least not directly. She plays her cards very carefully and will cause the chaos she loves to watch only if it benefits her in some way. She absolutely can be trusted, hust not loyal for a long time. She just lives by her own code.

Quorra is attracted to power, despite not wanting any, sadism more specifically. If shes interested in someone its for that factor alone, and only wants them as a temporary play thing. The less they want her, the more she wants them. Strictly lust and nothing more. She cant deny that she likes returning the same level of sadism. If she threatens someone she'll keep going until being stopped, theres just something so exciting about inflicting pain.

In short, most people will just tell you shes crazy.

Abilities:
- Face Stealer: Quorra's more notable ability is the ability to change her appearance. She can assume the form of another person as she pleases. Some may mistake this an illusion, but this is a type of magic that was inherited and taught from an early age. A specific form of transmutation but with out runes, spells, or rituals. Its instant, her identity can change at the blink of an eye. Quorra can only shape shift into someone shes seen with her own eyes. The more time shes spent with them the more passable her imitation can be.
- Medicine/healing: Quorra knows her way around plants very well. She can make various medicines, tonics, poultices, etc. Shes worked under the Forest Court for years and gained their trust as the Court's healer. She goes around healing it's citizens and even the high members themselves. In return, she has protection and her own given workspace.
- Arson: Quorra took a liking to fire magic, and fire specifically. Mostly because of its unpredictable, destructive nature....relatable. She can control it and summon it at will. In damper climates/environments its a little harder to use.

Abilities: Druids revere nature above all, gaining their spells and other magical powers either from the force of nature itself or from a nature deity. Druid spells are oriented toward nature and animals—the power of tooth and claw, of sun and moon, of fire and storm. Druids also gain the ability to take on animal forms, and some druids make a particular study of this practice, even to the point where they prefer animal form to their natural form.

All Druid interpretations are different. Teo is based off of the DnD version in some manner of ability. As the character develops so does their ability.
  • - communication with animals

  • - Morph into a few lesser, simple forms such as a dog, rodent, bird, a water dwelling like an otter or frog, etc. Nothing larger than a about the size of a Great Dane. Some interpretations include horses.

  • - connect with the earth such as predicting weather, growing small plants (flower, conjuring a few twigs etc.) or creating small weather phenomenons (small gust of wind, a small drizzle over a campfire to put it out etc.)

  • - grant themselves or others animal like characteristics in times of need (the strength of a bull, agility of a cat, sight of a hawk)

  • - Healing to an extent (small wounds, infections, etc.)
Side Note: Theodore does keep a familiar. Loving the irony of it he has a Hare as is familiar with his default form being a Fox. While in an avian form Arris will become a common Sparrow to stay in his company

Strengths: Very in tune with the animal side of their ability. Communication and Morphing comes naturally.
Weaknesses: Outbursts of emotion effect abilities, Distance with familiar causes great mental and even physical pain (think Daemon)

Background: Though a bit foggy in the beginning Theodore was born human. Normal and Natural in every way, until he was lost and reappeared in River court. Taking pity on the orphaned infant the witches took to him and all raised him as their own. As he grew the witches realized he was not made as they were, to last. So again they took pity and created him to be one of their own, or as close to it as possible. Though Theodore is not a witch he was created by them and lives as one, he is aware of this fact and longs to adventure into other realms and find who he is. Being the only baby in the River court had It's tolls, Teo is quite spoiled and is constantly showing off to be the center of attention. He is also a bit sheltered and unaware of himself, especially when or if it came to life outside of River Court.

Hair: Long black hair, with a dimly lit halo formed around her head.

Eyes: Val doesn't have any eyes. Only empty black space occupies where her eyes once were, with shadows cast over that are far too dense to look through.

Skin: Grey-white skin, similar to that of a corpse. Along various parts of her body are various religious symbols, either drawn or tattooed on.

Build: Valentina stands at around 5'7 with a slender build.

Wardrobe: The most noticeable aspect of Val's appearance is her skull makeup accenting the empty shadows of her eyes. As a servant to the Nocturnal Goddess, Valentina only wears attire appropriate for that of a priestess. She typically adorns a white dress that runs down to roughly her ankles. Unlike the more extravagant dresses of the wind court, Val's dress is simple, streamlined, and fits her slender figure well. On her head, she typically wears a thin white veil ornamented with various flowers on top. On her feet, Valentina will typically wear white slippers of some kind, though it is not uncommon for her to simply be barefoot. For accessories, Val can be seen wearing various necklaces and bracelets, most of which have some religious significance. Most notably however, Valentina always carries around a human skull that is embroidered in a manner similar to the makeup on her face.


Personality: A devoted servant of the Nocturnal Goddess, Valentina has dedicated her life to preach the tenants of her religion. As such, Valentina's hold many views that the common vampire may consider fanatical. Val is quite outspoken about her beliefs and will openly criticize those who do not follow the teachings of her religion. Likewise, she can be extremely close minded when it comes to matters of faith. Morally, much like the Children of the Nocturnal, she is neutral. She disapproves of those who commit great evils and is cynical of those who do too much good. Like many others with this mindset, it takes a lot for Val to truly trust someone in the world. This does not mean however that she closes herself off from the rest of the world. To the contrary, Valentina is open to talking about her past and her various beliefs on the world. To an extent, she will even share her many motivations if pried.

Though her mind tends to be closed off when it comes to religious matters, Valentina rather curious in nature. A natural scholar, she desires to understand how the world works around her. Whether it is people, animals, cultures, or history, Valentina will do what she needs to find her answers. When she sets her mind to something, she is ambitious to get it done. If getting what she desires entails waiting, then that is what she will do. Valentina is a patient woman, and firmly believes that patience is virtue. Additionally, if she has to get her hands dirty she will, so long as it does not violate the teachings of the Nocturnal.

Like many in the wind court, Val sees most mortals as beneath her. However, she is not a Vampire elitist. In her eyes, all members of the non-mortal casts are equal. At her core, Valentina desires order in the world. She does not wish to see the realm change and remains skeptical of those who wish to destroy the wall.

Dislikes: Anarchism, atheism, heretics, morally good, morally evil, humans.

Motivations: To maintain order in the realm and serve the Nocturnal Goddess in all her divine glory.


Abilities:
As a servant of the Nocturnal Goddess, most of Valentina's abilities reflect her preaching and the cold of the night.

Telepathy: Valentina has the uncanny ability to communicate with those around her using only her mind. If she desires, the individual will hear her voice inside of their head. She cannot read minds however, and can only project her thoughts onto those around her.

Empathy: Even though Valentina cannot read minds, she can read emotions. Upon entering someone's mind, the priestess is capable of reading emotions, and what an individual is feeling at that time.

Illusions: Through the use of her mental abilities, Valentina is capable of transmitting illusions into the minds of those around her. This can often be done to trick or manipulate people as she sees fit.

Ice Manipulation: Valentina is magically able to manipulate ice at her will. She can form it out of thin air and use it for both offensive and defensive purposes. Her abilities also make her completely immune to the cold.

Skull of Lancea: At all times, Valentina carries with her an ornately carved human skull that never leaves her side. Many assume it to be an odd accessory, though that's far from the truth. In reality, the skull is a sentient, powerful magic object that only Valentina may wield. Inside the skull is the spirit of one of the founding Children of the Nocturnal priest named Lancea. When his body was failing him, his spirit was bound to the skull he now occupies through a series of complex rituals.

With a sentient entity inside of it, the skull is capable of speaking and may do so whenever it pleases. Often times Lancea acts as an advisor to Valentina, though the two occasional will carry out casual conversations. Not only this, but the skull amplifies Valentina's powers and can be used as a powerful weapon to project magic. The skull of Lancea is also capable of freely floating on its own, though it mostly rests in Val's arms.

Through even more rituals, the skull has been soulbound to Valentina. It is incapable of leaving her side. Should the skull of Lancea be separated from Valentina, it will float back to Valentina. The skull is also dangerously cold to the touch, capable of freezing anything it touches in just a few moments.


Strengths:

Scholar: Valentina is well versed in the history of the realm, and the various cultures that inhabit it.

High Priestess: The title of High Priestess is a rank that few obtain in the Children of the Nocturnal. As such, there are many benefits that come with the title. Their opinions are generally well respected among vampires, and hostile actions against them are considered a heinous crime in their realms.

Preacher's Experience: Through years of preaching, Val has become an excellent performer and an adept socialite. She knows how to read a crowd, and sway the masses to her favor. With her experience and abilities, she's just as capable in individual social settings.

Weaknesses:

Devotion to Lady Nocturnal: Because of her vows, Valentina can never own any formal titles or land. She is forbidden from holding any substantial amounts of money. Only in death is she released from these vows.

Uncanny Appearance: Valentina's appearance is strange even amongst vampires. Many find her appearance alien in nature, causing reactions such as intimidation, repulsion, curiosity, etc. Because she rarely tries to hide her looks, many remember seeing the priestess wherever she goes.

Zealous: Valentina is extremely convicted to her beliefs. She will not hesitate to criticize those who do not fall in line with those beliefs. It's difficult for her to cooperate with individuals who do not share her ideals.

Background: Valentina was not always a vampire. Long ago, she was a human born to a noble family of the realm. Growing up, she was spoiled with many of the virtues that come with nobility: A large estate, power, wealth, food, etc. She had everything that would satisfy the common person, making her the envy of many peasants. However, one thing that could not be satisfied was the young woman's appetite for knowledge. Young Val was not afraid to afraid to research even the more taboo subjects of the realm. This, combined with a scandalous affair involving a local worker led to the local villagers accusing her of witchcraft. Most of the locals despised her father who ruled over them, so most jumped onto the accusations.

On her 23rd birthday, an angry mob of villagers would storm into her manner and seize Valentina. She was brought into the forest, tied to a tree, and stabbed multiple times. Valentina was then left to bleed to death as the mob disappeared into the woods. As she awaited death, the Nocturnal Goddess would grant Valentina another chance at life. By fate, two passing vampires, who had sneaked through a hidden gap in the wall, had witnessed the events that previously transpired. They decided to take a chance and save her life the only way they could: By turning her into a vampire. To say that Valentina was lucky would be an understatement. Not only did she make it through a conversion process few survive, she did so in an extremely weakened state.

As the new vampire recovered from her wounds, she was smuggled back through the walls and into a Children of the Nocturnal sanctuary. From there, she would be given aid and direction for her new life. To the surprise of the preachers at the sanctuary, Valentina was far more educated and knowledgeable than the typical human. She was taught the ways of the Nocturnal Goddess, whom she embraced as her savior. Preaching with a rare fervor, and constantly expanding her knowledge on the realm of vampires, Val ascended through the ranks of the Children of the Nocturnal. Eventually she would be given the rank of High Priestess, and assigned to advise over the Wind Court. It is there that she currently resides. Though the vampire holds true to her faith, it seems more and more vampires work against the will of the Nocturnal by the day. Some in the court openly wish to destroy the wall; an act would disrupt the entire realm and have unforeseen consequences for all non-mortals.

•Loyal - He is loyal to his cause and loyal to his family for the most part. He would do anything for them as long as they are on his side. If they were to go against him they would no longer be his family.
