[I'm sorry this thread is such a mess, I'm slowly fixing it so please bear with me]

Hi hey hello,

Wow, it's been a while. Welcome to my little corner of RPN - I'm Austin but you can just call me Tin. I'm a nonbinary (they/them) student from the uk, an aspiring games designer and artist!

To cut a long story short, I've been struggling with my art recently. Writing has always been a huge source of inspiration for me, and since taking a break for personal reasons, my creativity has plummeted drastically. I'm looking to jump back into a casual, slow-paced roleplay with one or two partners.

I specialise in literate, mature plots with intriguing characters and complex relationships. My preferences for roleplay plots, characters, pairings - all those shenanigans - they tend to shift pretty frequently depending on my mood. I enjoy both fandom and original plots, although I will admit I am leaning towards the former at the moment; I'm also fine with playing canon characters, and I will gladly double up, under the condition that I expect my partner to be equally flexible when it comes to writing out certain dynamics.

So hopefully I'll find someone else who's also searching for some creative expression! ✨

Who am I?

> Tin (but you know that already!)
> I write literate/advanced
> I'm 21 years old (and I'd like my partner to be 20+)
> I'm from the UK

What do I enjoy?

> Original plots, fandom plots, anything in between
> Romance is fine, but I don't like forcing it or making it the main focus
> Flexible plots, flexible characters, flexible writing partners
> Mature themes (tell me your triggers before we rp so I don't overstep boundaries, and I will do the same for you)
> LGBTQ+ inclusivity
> PMs, Forums, Discord (mild preference for PMs)

Fandom Roleplays:

Red indicates cravings. I have loads of plot ideas for most of these fandoms, [please ask me about them], but I'm also happy to brainstorm something! I also have a whole selection of other fandoms I'm familiar with listed at the bottom of the list, so if you're desperate for a specific plot then just let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate. ✨

I have specified what characters I would prefer to write as, but I like to stay flexible in this regard. It's safe to assume anything red is someone I'd love to include regardless of who's writing them. We can discuss specific roles based on our preferences and experience!

CHARACTERS I WILL WRITE AS/AGAINST
WHAT TO EXPECT
DC/Batman/Rogues Gallery Okay, so, anyone who knows me probably also knows that scarecrow is my absolute favourite supervillain. But in general, the whole rogues gallery excites me to a similar extent. There's something so intriguing about a group of villains so focused on breaking one man that they put all their humanity aside just to see him crumble. I love pretty much all the rogues - I've played most of the games, I've watched good portion of films and TV series (even the objectively bad ones), from The Batman, Joker, to Lego Batman. I always find myself running back to Black Label or Tim Sale's Batman when it comes to comics, although I will admit that my favourite 'verse' is definitely the Arkhamverse; it's just oozing with passion. Basically, I'm up for pretty much anything! And if I can include my favourite villains, then that's just the icing on the cake.

Make suggestions if you're after someone else specific, I'll probably say yes if I'm familiar:
  • OC's
  • Scarecrow [of course]
  • Red Hood/Arkham Knight
  • Batman
  • Riddler
  • Joker
  • Poison Ivy
  • Harley Quinn
  • Catwoman
  • Two-Face [and Gilda Dent]
I would prefer to focus in on black label-esque forms of the characters, since dark settings and mature themes are my forte when it comes to DC, but I'm interested in anything really. I'm perfectly happy settling into something more lighthearted and dumb. Especially with Arkham Asylum - I feel like it can swing between being the most terrifying place on earth to being a bunch of wholesome supervillains sharing lunch together, and I'm here for both. Although, if you're letting me play Scarecrow then it will probably devolve into horror pretty quickly, as is to be expected.
Breaking Bad Listen, I'm just a silly goose who loves writing as bad guys, especially ones who can be a little incompetent sometimes. Breaking bad is one of those shows I started watching way after the hype died down for it, so the liklihood of me finding someone who's equally interested in it now is probably somewhat low. But hey, that's why it's at the top of this list! I'd prefer to focus on the early storyline, before the characters became all intense and mature, because I think there's something interesting about taking the characters' potential in a completely different direction than already starting at the end point. But of course, I'm not opposed to anything involving this show or characters (including the spin-offs like El Camino and Better Call Saul).

CW for name spoilers! I'm also fine with including anyone not mentioned here:
  • OC's
  • Walter White
  • Jesse Pinkman
  • Gustavo Fring
  • Saul Goodman
  • Hank Schrader
  • Mike Ehrmantrout
WIP [Mature themes blah blah blah you get the gist]
Resident Evil Village [and Biohazard] I've greatly enjoyed the games featuring Ethan Winters, ever since the first teaser came out for RE7 and everyone was sharing theories or little details that were easily overlooked - the switch from third person to first person made the whole Resident Evil experience that much more terrifying in my opinion. That being said, while RE8 is leaning for a more traditional gothic stance on the horror genre, I also love it for it's own quirkiness. Plot wise, I wish to explore the Village/European setting a bit more. I have an inkling of what could make a good roleplay plot, most of which involve altering the current timeline slightly, or exploring what life might have been like before/after the Winterses came along. If you're interested then please let me know if you're looking to avoid spoilers, so I don't get carried away and spill the beans lol.

I'd even be willing to include characters from other RE games, within good reason:
  • OC's [bonus points if we make our own infected weirdos]
  • Ethan Winters
  • Jack Baker
  • Lucas Baker
  • Mia Winters
  • Chris Redfield
  • Mother Miranda
  • Alcina Dimitrescu
  • Karl Heisenberg
  • Donna/Angie Beneviento
  • Salvatore Moreau
Resident Evil is an amazing franchise within the horror genre, so mature themes are almost always present. There isn't a lot left to the imagination when it comes to violence/gore and bodyhorror, and I imagine those same dark themes will follow through into roleplay as well, although dotted in between some important character development or drama. I would love to focus on the characters' individual abilities and how they might affect them in every day life, or any bad side effects that aren't really present in the game, since that aspect has always been a focus of mine. Heisenberg's disdain for Mother Miranda is probably just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to 'family drama', and I enjoy the strange and bitter dynamics between the Lords, as well as how ridiculous it probably looks to onlookers (IE - Ethan). I'm perfectly fine with adjusting some plot points slightly in order to make the roleplay more interesting, or even exploring an alternate universe altogether, depending on the extremeties we're willing to go to.
Cyberpunk 2077 While the game's release was pretty awful, I still bought it and adored every minute of it, bugs and all. I particularly enjoyed how flexible the universe of Night City is, and after completing the entire main storyline twice, I found myself craving MORE. Ever since reading 'Neuromancer' I've had a soft spot for cyberpunk themes, so of course this is a top tier fandom for me right now. I'm open to playing as/against anyone, but of course let me know if you're looking to avoid spoilers. I have my personal V lore I will happily share for anyone interested, and likewise I enjoy hearing how other people have developed their V's backstory and personality. I would also be interested in cyberpunk as a genre, rather than the game specifically, if anyone would be willing to engage in some world building.

Literally anyone, but if we have to get specific:
  • OC's [not V]
  • V
  • Johnny Silverhand [I particularly enjoy writing as Johnny]
  • Goro Takemura
  • Kerry Eurodyne
  • Judy Alvarez
  • Rogue Amendiares
  • Jackie Welles
  • River Ward
  • Panam Palmer
Naturally, the cyberpunk 2077 universe is a bit brutal and vulgar - generally a mature experience, so I'm hoping any potential writing partners will be exactly that as well. (romance, or at the very least mentions of romance, is a given - although probably not a huge focus for me though). Nothing particularly fluffy, but hurt/angst is guaranteed. I feel like some flexibility will be required, especially if including Silverhand, since his entire existence is pretty... Limited. I do have ideas of how to get around this though.
Star Wars Let's get this out the way - I'm a filthy disney/Sequels Star Wars enjoyer. However, I actually just love everything Star Wars. Back in the good old days before the pandemic, and before I had responsibilities, I'd spend hours writing stories about anything that could be considered remotely angsty in the Star Wars universe. With all the content that Disney's been spewing out, I can't pretend that my little science fiction-fantasy ape brain hasn't been awoken. I'm most interested in writing within the Prequels, Sequels, Fallen Order, Solo, Kenobi series, or anything vaguely similar because I just have an itch that needs to be scratched.

  • Kylo Ren
  • General Hux

  • Anakin
  • Han Solo

Original Roleplays:

I'll admit, I haven't got many fully fledged plots at the moment - mainly because I enjoy brainstorming original plots with my partner, based on genres that we both enjoy - but I do have vague themes and ideas I'm happy to suggest. A lot of these ideas overlap, but I think it gives a good overview of the sorts of stories I find entertaining.

THEME
CHARACTER TROPES I LIKE
CONCEPTS I'M INTERESTED IN
INSPIRATION
Science Fiction
  • I'm a big fan of robots at the moment, or cyborgs and androids, although the mechanical look specifically is something I'm intrigued by - characters who don't look human at all having the most quirky and creative personalities
  • Maybe something to do with a detective/inspector? New-age crimes being committed and we focus on how difficult it is to track down certain individuals, especially if they happen to be a cyborg because they can switch out parts of themselves and escape crime scenes with insane skill (maybe a hitman is sent after a detective)
  • Along the lines of the hitman thought, something John Wick-esque
  • Big crime lord/millionaire/businessman corrupting the system and buying their way into power (cyberpunk???)
  • A hotshot mechanic who's the best at what they do, but they get dragged into all sorts of weird situations because of their talent
  • Corruption, or things not being as they seem, conspiracy theories, all that good stuff - although nothing too funky or out of the realm of possibility, since I do enjoy a semblance of realism
  • Gangs/crime scenarios are a big favourite, especially when someone unassuming gets dragged into the mess by association. Maybe the forgotten child of some big boss company gets dragged off as ransom and left in the dirt as a result, so they have to climb their way back up the ladder
  • Maybe futuristic vigilantes? Not superheroes, but just people who want to expose the evil people in society, or just want to cause as much ruckus as possible - I like the idea of a robotic or android vigilante who everyone assumes is some kind of villain/terrorist because of propoganda
  • Not a big fan of space pirates/exploration themed plots, especially ones where an alien is 'discovered' or experimented on. Just not my cup of tea.
  • I also don't like space plots in general? Like, if it was modern day space exploration, maybe, but I don't enjoy making the entire concept of space seem like a really easy task to accomplish. The mystery and inaccessability of other planets intrigues me more than taking a spaceship from one place to the next within a few minutes.
  • I don't like a plain, white, shiny future (looking at Detroit:BH - I love that game but all the white and blue stuff has been done before) - dark and grimy is more my vibe

Paranormal
  • I always liked the concept of a police officer getting dragged into some paranormal business, or maybe a journalist - someone who's going to be skeptical
  • Demons are great and all, but I like to make them truly horrifying, not just 'generic hot boy with yellow eyes and devil horns'. Someone who isn't attractive or kind on the inside, they don't care how they affect people because they just want to cause chaos.
  • Ghosts are my favourite - so much you can do with them, and the rules are kind of blurry - I'd love to experiment with the idea of the afterlife, or maybe possession, something along those lines
  • Some sort of cult, or a religion that quickly devolved into a cult
  • Manifestation of a building or location, and then someone decides to stay for whatever reason, or maybe investigate the area - the spirit that haunts the area doesn't have a specific shape or appearance, but they gradually begin to build one based on what the person investigating imagines, or maybe how they look already - seeing them makes you feel sick, because they're not quite human, and something about them just oozes evil
  • When a person can't tell if they're hallucinating or seeing a ghost, and hilarious hijinks ensue
  • I don't really like the whole 'I accidentally summoned a demon' trope - or even intentional honestly - I want the realisation to slowly creep up on the character/s, rather than just a 'poof' and the demon is there

Apocalypse/Dystopia
  • I actually really like the idea of generic characters being in this setting - a writer, a doctor, a teacher, a policeman - anything
  • Aliens are a maaaybe, but only if it's like, 'Destiny'-style aliens where it's more of a territorial dispute rather than 'we're gonna enslave you all'
  • Earth collides with another planet, and only one half of earth was left inhabitable, the air full of dust and radiation. Electricity is unavailable, so big cities are left as monuments of what they previously were, now collecting dust and permanently shadowed by the clouds that pass overhead. In some places, you get weird gravity anomalies, and the few people who survived the 'incident' steer clear of these areas like the plague. Only the strong survive, and any control the government once had is quickly dwindling, their influence only stretching as far as the small communities that choose to listen to them.
  • A world where people are slowly succumbing to mental illness - the government is issuing more drugs to cope with stress, depression, anxiety - and it's unclear whether or not it's actually helping. People seek pleasures that were previously thought to be excessive, but now they're the only way to trigger even a vague sense of happiness. There isn't a direct cause for why people are acting this way, why everything is gradually decaying and devolving back into dust, but everyone has accepted the eventual collapse of society as it slows down.
  • An addictive substance has become a worldwide phenomenon, primarily known for improving productivity, making you happy, and keeping people focused. However, it was not a renewable resource. After decades of selling this drug to the public, a few billionaires buy into the business and close it to the public so they can have the drug for themselves, resulting in a world filled with harmless, zombie-like humans who can't function properly without it.
  • No more plain zombie apocalypses, please, I'm begging you

Horror
  • Obviously, any old murderer/creep/freakazoid character is a yes from me - I love focusing on the psychology of why they act like that, and how they interact with other characters (who may or may not be just as insane)
  • American Psycho style killers are also a favourite, where they have certain quirks but snap really badly later on
  • Psychological horror, where something is just off enough to send a character over the edge - like having their thoughts occupied by a certain repetition, or hallucinations, feeling like they're projecting from their body - little details, and maybe they find comfort in knowing another person is experiencing the same things
  • Even just normal characters put in a horror setting is a big yes for me
  • Any setting works
  • I do like the idea of the characters being in a situation where escape is unavoidable, so they're forced to act a certain way or give into their madness - maybe they don't even know if escape is available, because hallways and rooms seem to loop and repeat indefinitely
  • If anyone has listened to 'The Hotel' podcast, that pretty accurately describes the kind of characters and setting I'd want to play around with (being, the Lobby Boy, Manager and Owner - not necessarily the guests) - just totally traumatized and dealing with it in their own special ways, and not fully grasping the eldritch horror they're actively contributing to
  • Nothing sugarcoated, at all, it's all dark and dreary and nobody is attractive or friendly. We find small joys in very simple acts that normal people would take for granted, like finally having hot water, or holding hands with someone during a brief moment of peace, watching the last glimmer of sunshine disappear behind a cloud as the world succumbs to something otherworldy and inevitable
