Name: Berastos Naruron Chirosteran

Chapter of Origin: Raven Guard (Suspected and self-reported by Berastos, his skin as white as ivory pillars and eyes blacker than starless space lends credence to his gene-lineage);

Service Record:
Pre-interment with Deathwatch - Berastos' history before inclusion into the Deathwatch Chapter is hitherto unknown. Impenetrable as his sunken black marbles for eyes, save for a few superiors who he furtively confided in, but what is known is that he had suffered much at the hands of his traitor brethren during the ineffable Heresy and entered suspended animation to preserve his wounded body. In the vacuum of the void, the ship which carried him was found by his Chapter brethren, him the lone survivor of a grizzly scene.

When stirred from his slumber in M.38, he awoke surrounded by his brothers, not of his squad or company. He initially proved apprehensive for the awakening. Agitation had been prevalent, he even raised the muzzle of his bolter pistol, a quirk of battle-ready habit until the wounds caught up to him. Tensions then cooled before Berastos illuminated the fate of him and his brethren. The newly-gathered Chapter brethren nodded in acknowledgement, the squad leader agreed to allow medical attention from the apothecaries.

Berastos served with them for a time, content to be amongst them but an edge of distance was still maintained. The self-isolation had been wrought by his own mind mostly, but certain battle brothers did not take kindly to him and tactical decisions. For the betterment of all, Berastos Naruron Chirosteran abandoned his position in the chapter. Becoming a part of the monolithic Deathwatch.

"Let No Xeno Live" - One with Deathwatch, Berastos repainted his armour black and proudly displayed the right pauldron bearing the Raven's mark. Of course, he also painted a single lightning bolt down his right eyeslit. He proved a valuable member of Deathwatch, albeit his tactics matched those of fellow Raven Guard, they were decidedly more brutal. He even burst into fits of mirthful laughter at the agony of Xenos before quickly disciplining himself once again. He is shrewd, perhaps moreso than other marines, standoffish at times as he does not always agree with the leader's decision. He is ultimately loyal to the Emperor, but is not blindly overzealous. His swordhand is limber, always ready for action and to move as though he art the flicker of a candlelight's shadow.

He is not uncaring, carrying the names of fallen brothers, of the Raven Guard and Deathwatch squadmates. If one garners a keener look, then they would also notice names of brothers with no mention of their origins, Berastos is quite warded against such questionings as well.

Equipment:
  • Berastos is outfitted with the Mark VII, Aquila pattern power armour.
  • Hesh-Pattern Bolter;
  • Stalker-Pattern Bolter pistol;
  • Power Sword

Chapter: Dark Angels

Service record:
Zadkiel was inducted into the Dark Angels 3rd Company and began fighting the enemies of mankind in earnest. Once he had cut his teeth in several campaigns he was sent to Mars to train as a techmarine after displaying an aptitude for the role after assisting a forgemaster in battlefield repairs and fortifications. He spent several campaigns attached to the Ravenwing though he has never spoken of his time there, even to his battle-brothers of the 3rd company. It was a great honour to serve the second company but he had been sworn to silence regarding any details of their missions. Zadkiel himself is not entirely aware of the purpose of the seemingly random battles he took part in, regardless they were often short and bloody and he had an opportunity to gleam a fraction of the mechanical wonders horded by the second company.

Shortly after his return to the 3rd company he was deployed to Prescina IV with his brothers to hold back the green tide in the third war for Armageddon. Zadkiel was awarded many honours for his service at the defensive lines of Koth Ridge on Piscina IV. Zadkiel fought alongside his battle-brothers against the green tide and used every scrap of knowledge, strength and ingenuity available to him to fight of the greenskin attackers and maintain the battered weapons, vehicle , armour and fortifications placed under his care. Against insurmountable odds the 3rd company held the ridge long enough for reinforcements to arrive and push the Orks back. Due to his performance Zadkiel was recommended to serve within the Deathwatch to replace Brother Seraphiel Iridon who had fallen in battle during a mission on a genestealer infested world. Zadkiel has since served loyally in the Deathwatch, his hatred of the xenos was utilised well and he found great purpose and growth within their ranks and serves closely below the current forgemaster of the Watch Fortress.

Outside of his actions on Piscina IV, Zadkiel once won a ritual duel with a space wolf named Brynwulf Dvordin for the honour of the chapter. The space wolf goaded and jeered as they circled each other on the blasted ruin of the mountains top. The space wolves in attendance cheered encouragement and uttered curses and insults playfully in their fenrisian tongue. Zadkiel ignored all but his opponent. When the signal was given to begin Zadkiel pounced on his opponent with a precision and ferocity worthy of The Lion himself and overwhelmed his opponent with a series of perfectly aimed feints and blows with his poweraxe before finishing his opponent with a savage headbutt that dropped Brynwulf unconscious to the ground. The fight had lasted several seconds and the Space wolves had been shocked to silence shortly replaced by anger and bared fangs as they muttered curses. Zadkiel gave a curt bow on the fallen champion and left his brother wolves to pick him off the ground as he rejoined his fellow Dark Angels. There was no whooping or cheering from his brothers but the nods of acknowledgement and pride was evident as they left the field. Zadkiel was awarded his honours by the company master personally and inscribed the deed prominently on his armour naming the champion that he had defeated. As a result of his victory working with space wolves within the deathwatch had been an abrasive experience once they learned who he was. This never prevented them from performing their duties yet there always remained a tension of sorts.

Personality:
Though Zadkiel has moments of the trademark stoicism the Dark Angels are famous for he is fairly positive and open with his opinions and carries a youthful energy in his attitude and movements more commonly found in newly raised battle-brothers. Despite first impressions and an almost playful demeanour ( for a dark angel astartes at least) at his core Zadkiel is a veteran of a thousand battles and is cappable of clearl logical thinking under pressure as expected for any techmarine serving in the Deathwatch. When required he is capable of displaying a shift in personality more in tune with his chapter, speaking little but always to the point like a naked blade cutting to the heart of issues or obstacles.

Zadkiel can appear carefree but he understands his duty well and is more than willing to make huge sacrifices to ensure victory. He takes little actual pleasure in the destruction of xenos despite his hatred of them and sees it as merely a requirement for the Imperium. If required he would not hesitate to throw himself into the line of danger if he believes it could shift the balance in their favour yet he is not reckless.

Zadkiel is not uncaring for humans within the imperium and has come to respect many such individuals during his many campaigns but he does not feel any particular bond or connection to himself outside of their duty and common goals. He barely remembers what it was like to be an aspirant and the physical and mental modifications tempered by his own time on mars and working with the machines has created a separation of sorts. Human deaths are more statistical events for him and rarely register on any emotional level. This is not true of his battle-brothers however and has had many strong ties to other members of his chapter and Kill-Teams. Inevitably many of these old companions have died in battle or been transferred to new squads.

Equipment:
Servo Harness
Artificer Power armour
Omnissian Power-Axe
Shoulder mounted bolter
Auspex/scanner

Name: Librarain Rurion Chror
Chapter of Origin: The Exorists a reclusive chapter with close ties to the inquisition that have honorably served in the badab war, the argageddon wars and the fall of cadia. The origins are a secret and the members of the chapter are not willing to discuss much about their chapters. their primarch and progenitor chapter are sealed by the inquisition. Those that have served beside them know they are best at combating the minions of the ruinous powers.

Service Record: Rurion was born on the feral homeworld of the exorcists banish. Being psychic his fates was either to be forced onto the black ships or to prove his strength and be made into an astartes. Rurion did know a choice was being made when he was taken and inducted into the Exorists. Rurion would pass the trials and become a neophyte where the ultimate test would be done, he was possessed. A creature of the warp, a daemon was forced into him. A servant of the ever shifting god of magic shared his body with him and the two would fight for control. The ritual lasted 12 hours, and when it was over the demon was cast out by Rurion almost completely by himself. Rurion had passed he was now worthy of being a battle brother and more importantly a librarian.

Rurion would join the cults of his chapter and learn of the great enemy and more importantly the ways to defeat or control them. This was what Rurion was the best at the use of the the enemies own weapons against it. In truth Rurion saw less action than he would have liked in the early days, buit was often loaded out to the plutonain inquisitors to aid them in various tasks, often destroying daemon hosts or hunting out smaller cults. He also aided them in the rituals to summon and bind daemons to neophytes and binding those who could not cast out the daemon.

The first campaign he considers worth mentioning was the badab war itself. His chapter being loosed like attack dogs upon the the traitorous astral claws. at that time Rurion happened to be attached to the 3rd company and was there when Alberec slew Arkil Lionsmane in single combat. While Rurion himself did not manage anything as grandiose as Alberec he did decide to keep a memento from the campaign. A plasma pistol from the first traitor he slew a fellow librarian. Rurion did question if the great enemy had any hand in the conflict as those he fought seemed not to hold the taint of chaos and the librarian he fought didn't use any warpcraft magic. Still Rurion believed it was just and they were doing the right thing. The end of the war Rurion considered a shame as the Exorsists opened fire on any that could not prove their allegiance and slew their own allies while the wounded Lufgt Huron managed to slink off into the maelstrom.

During the third war for Armageddon Rurion and all other exorcists were deployed the entire 12 companies of the chapter. They would serve in less remembered way than other chapter, for that was their way they didn't need to make grand last stands or hold the walls of hives. There were other forces and other enemies upon the world that needed to be dealt with quietly. The world had known the touch of the daemon primarch and that taint yet lingered in the form of countless cults each trying to use the blood shed to bring back their masters. The exorsists would deal less with the forces of the orks and more with unseen threats. Still Rurion did dislike their part in the war and when hearing of the the misfortune of the celestial lions lodged a formal request to investigate the strange circumstance. The request was of course denied and the issue dropped. Rurion had suggested that it was a chaotic cult or chaotic elements within fellow loyalist chapters that were responsible for the misfortune.

When abaddon decided 13 was his lucky number and launched another black crusade Rurion like most exorsists was told to help the defense of cadia. 10 companies of the Exorcists went into the flames of chaos. This was far more their element fighting and various battles Rurion would prove his abilities against the daemons banishing even a greater demons and managing to slay a bloodthirster in single combat granting him the honor of joining the enochain guard. This fight while bringing him great honor cost Rurion his left and several organ and most of his blood. Rurion would manage to recover but he was almost put in a dreadnaught. Still the severity of the injuries kept him from fighting beyond the mid point of the crusade.

When it was discovered all the primaris that were being sent to reinforce the exorcists had been killed along with their custodies escorts by chaos Rurion was one of the many brothers to undergone the rubricon and become primaris. with chaos more active than ever the Exorsists have been rather busy, but still the deathwatch can not be neglected and Rurion wanted to learn more of the xenos threat and how the rift is affecting them. So he was seconded to the Deathwatch.

As for Personality Rurion is a bit different from his chapter bothers. The biggest example of this is while most exorcists are known to almost enter a battle rage he remains calm and focused letting him better focus the currents of the warp and call upon psyker powers. While secretive about the rituals of his chapter Rurion will explain many things like the runes upon his armor and the litanies upon his halberd. As one might expect of a librarian Rurion is one hell of a bookworm and with his astartes physiology he can spend days reading through tomes and scrolls hunting through data stacks from more information he thinks is interesting or relevant to his work. When it comes to chaotic influence Rurion is an expert among experts understanding their rituals and having memories a great many demon names and counter names. In fact the mysteries of warpcraft are his greatest passion and he tried to document any new warp ritual or magic he finds to better help the chapter.

Conservator_emblem_1.png

Name: Austion, "Brave Austion"

Chapter of Origin: The Conservators. Son's of Rogal Dorn (Distant Successors), Fleet Based Chapter (Asharn Marches)

An enigmatic chapter based in the distant Asharn Marches, a series of medieval-level agriworlds, that have a long standing and one-sided feud with the Adeptus Mechanicus. Early in the Chapters establishment an Ork WAAAGH! swept through the sector and laid waste to the planets causing the Conservators to lose nearly 2/3 of their number, especially among their upper cadres. The Forgeworld of Chiron IV, the singular Forgeworld of the Marches was completely destroyed and remains in Orkish hands to this day. The blame was laid rather justly on the Conservators who chose to defend the various worlds of the Marches and their people, leaving Chiron to die and as such the Cult of Mars has blacklisted the Chapter to this day. Cut off from the wider Imperium and expecting no reinforcements, the Chapter by all rights should have disbanded or died out. To their credit, in the two centuries since it's founding the Conservators have fought tooth and nail to rebuild their lost strength with what little they have and though they have developed a humble pride about themselves because of this, it was only possible through some less than savory means. Though by no means thieves, it is not uncommon for minor equipment such as ammunition or lasgun power packs to have been salvaged from battlefields from friend and for alike.

The Chapter has thus developed a system of debts that they hold themselves strictly too, and many Imperial factions as well as Chapters are suddenly aided by squad's or companies of marines from a no name chapter who have come to their aid. When a space marine of a different chapter dies among the Conservators, the marines return the body and it's gear to the respective chapter (though bolt weapons may have coincidently been emptied of magazines). In the event the body of a marine is found and it is impossible to return it to it's respective Chapter, the marine is formally inducted within the ranks of the Conservators and laid to rest with full honors before his war gear and geneseed are stored for later use. Yes, the Conservators use foreign geneseed. Though the Conservators rationalize this as a necessary evil lest the gear and seed are left to waste, they do go to great lengths to aid the marines parent chapter whenever possible. The practice of geneseed harvesting is only used as a last resort and kept tightly close to the Chapters chest.

Most famous of these debt payments was the Legend of Garranius the Seebearer. The chapter had fought alongside the Grey Knights in breaking a heretic astartes host and had found a dead Knight trapped in a planets pole. Fearing the Grey Knights may never return and feeling as thought the Grey Knights would put his gear and geneseed to better use, the Chief Apothecary Garranius led a small contingent of Conservators to Titan to return the Geneseed and the fallen Knights gear. In thanks, the Grey Knights returned the Conservators to the Asharn Marches with the 'Titan Stone', a rectangular slab of basalt stone which imbues normal steel swords with unusual potency when placed within a slot in the stones face. Thus it has gone for much of the Conservators history, scavenging and bartering to get whatever equipment they can get their hands on, attempting to make up for their devious means by holding tight to honoring debts even if they may be unknown to the debted, and making the most with what little they have in the Imperium's name.

Service Record: With a service record of nearly 110 years since indoctrination, Austion has served with distinction from the get-go. Fighting alongside the Grey Knights of Titan against his Chaotic brethren, the fresh marine was one of the few that journeyed to Titan alongside Garranius and as such was one of the first to place his blade within the Titan Stone. He has also served capably as the bodyguard to the Rogue Trader House of Mackyntire (close allies and 'business partners' who supply the Chapter with much needed equipment). Like most Conservators he lives among the population of the Marches, specifically as a stonemason on the world of Morning III. He has led many combat encounters during the scavenging runs- I mean, reclamation campaigns on the Greenskin infested Chiron IV and the Marches in general, but has also participated in battles against minor Tyranid splinter fleet as well as Tau incursions. His marked experience fighting Xenos and skill at arms picked him out to be one of two candidates that have been sent to the Deathwatch for the first time since the Chapters founding.

Like many Conservators, Austion is a humble individual with a fierce pride in his home, his chapter, and the Imperium. Though not fanatically zealous, he is firmly devout as a marine and personally worships the Emperor as a deity, though like many of his brothers his loyalty is to the Imperium in general. A calm and collected individual Austion has proven to be a kind and patient marine who keeps a level head in high intensity situations. In battle, he is a precise and deadly weapon, conserving ammunition with pinpoint shots and his blessed sword. Though technically still a sergeant, he has been slated to be promoted to a captain sometime in the future and is most likely being groomed for command as the his placement in the Deathwatch will both gain him valuable experience and further his already honorable record. He has developed a unique fighting style towards fighting opponents much larger and stronger than himself, something earned from fighting Orks for most of his life. With sandy blond hair and a fair complexion, Austion often seems to be looking into the distance with a small smile as if recalling a fond memory. A service stud embedded in his temple denotes a century of honorable service and his Corvus pattern armor (one of the finest in the chapter) was been painted black over the traditional dirt brown upon joining the Deathwatch.

Equipment:
-
Mk VI Corvus-Pattern Power Armor
- Crusade-Pattern Bolter (Augmented for Modern Day use)
- Bolt Pistol
- Titan Stone-Blessed Steel Sword
