The cold steel shattered into a million pieces, fluttering to the ground uselessly. He found when an object was brought to such a low temperature, it would be extra susceptible to stress. Such as a kick of his foot. It was simple physics, after all.

Osthien had been testing his own abilities all night, particularly how cold he could make objects become, how cold he could freeze them. He hadn’t achieved absolute zero yet but some members of his species have been known to. Very few members of his species. Spurts of ice and cold frost bloomed out of his hand, freezing another bit on the shipping container up above. It groaned, as if complaining of the low temperatures it was subjected to. The side of the container frosted up so beautifully, icy fractals climbing all around the edges, before he stopped. Osthien rubbed hands together and cupped them together, blowing a hot breath and using the water vapour to create an icy snowball.

The container’s side shattered upon impact.

He reached inside and dragged out several, well wrapped and packaged shipments. The heavy duty cardboard boxes were marked as Seattle Valley University and he grinned, interest pique. It was curiosity that drove him, nothing else. Half gloved hands tore up the boxes to see... machines. Lab equipment. Glass beakers, more glass objects. It was nothing he knew of specifically, having no interest in the field whatsoever. Osthien took the delicate glass objects out of the packaging and lined them up in a row before he kicked the rest of the box aside and ducked under the hole in the shipping container to grab more.

One thing he knew: he loved shopping.

Grey eyes seemed to burn ablaze with red sparks as she stared incredulously at the figure rummaging around in the shipping container, the darkness of the night making it difficult for her to make out any fundamental features. Her Victorian styled mask only seemed to bring out her eyes, even as she tried to make it complex enough that no one would notice anything but the mask. A cold, northern breeze left her skin encased in goosebumps as she circled her arms around herself to save whatever warmth she had from leaving her body. Although she should be grateful to her hero for allowing a sidekick such as herself go on patrol alone, she couldn't help but feel somewhat annoyed that it had to be in this weather and at this time of night.

Shivers wracked her body as the breeze ceased to stop and her legs shook as she stepped closer to the figure, the air seemingly growing colder and colder with each step she took. Her auburn hair blew up to enormous proportions as it frizzed up in the cold air, a trait that annoyed her to no end. Her eyes took in the broken glass strewn around the figure as an annoyed sigh escaped her lips and she cursed her hero beneath her breath, grateful for the fact that he wasn't here to see her in this state.

A little bit of coldness and she might as well be dead. What would her hero think if he saw her like this? The thought had her shaking her head rapidly as she tried desperately to regain her composure.

"H-h-hey," she breathed out, voice shaking as if she had been drowning in ice cold water.

"S-s-stop. Y-y-ou have nowhere left to run," Aysera continued, cursing herself for her lack of dignity.

One thing she knew: she hated the cold.

Oh the smirk that adorned his face, hearing her shaking voice. He stood slowly, making it a point that he wouldn't be intimidated and that he wasn't, and turned to face the figure standing up top. It was a girl, obviously, telling by her voice, but the darkness of the night allowed his light sensitive eyes to spot that elegant mask of hers as well as the fiery red hair. It was evidently frizzy, perhaps with the natural cold using his powers put off.

"Oh, c'mon," he almost groaned, as if it was so obvious, "You can't say you're not curious too. "

It couln't be said that his villain took him in. No, more like his villain found him and he tagged along with some of his acts. Recently, he'd been aloof and cold and unreachable by any means. So, Osthien thought that as long as he didn't get in the way of the ultimate plants, everything was a go. And since everything was a go, he'd get bored. Inwardly, perhaps it was an attempted grasp for attention or it was to satisfy his curiosity; he didn't find he particularly cared.

He more wandered over to the shipment she stood above rather than walked and pressed a finger to the cold metal. Frost spread, exquisite crystals growing larger as they crawled up to where she stood. He wasn't intending to freeze her, more like prank her. By attempting to freeze her shoes to the floor.

The temperature seemed to decrease by ten-fold and all Aysera could do was try to increase her internal temperature without using too much of her powers. She wasn't allowed to use her powers without her hero's permission, unless she was physically in danger. While it didn't seem too dangerous yet, she couldn't help but notice his unnatural features the closer he got, even if the darkness left not much to be seen.

"I-I-I'm no-not cu-fuck," she cursed vehemently under her breath, the cold preventing her from even speaking a mere few words. It seemed as if she was the one already losing, and she was the one to confront him in the first place! With a surge of willpower, the girl stood up straight, forcing her body to stop its incessant shivers. She glared at the man, fiery red eyes no longer grey, no longer calm. Even as she noticed his unnatural features, as if he wasn't human, she automatically assumed that his emerald green skin and golden eyes were simply a costume.

Gasping as she could feel the searing cold touch her, it felt as if her feet were burning as he encased them in ice, the growing crystals beautiful, yet reeking with danger. Her body senses tingled, her fight or flight instinct taking action as her long, auburn hair blew up into a mass of flames. The air's temperature appeared to increase at an intensifying speed, as if she was trying to prove that her flames outmatched his ice.

The crystals at her feet seemed to slowly melt, or at least, she hoped it would.

"What would you be curious about in a truck full of school supplies?," she asked him calmly, the tone of her words contradicting the flames that surrounded her.

Osthien jumped back when her hair bursted into a bright ball of flames. It was so sudden, the light of it stung his eyes and he ended up squinting at her. Still, he wasn’t about to let this go yet. The glint of flames even within the woman’s eyes enticed him to daringly approach. The air temperature spiked but not enough to affect him.

The ice encasing her feet melted but it wasn’t intended to hold her there anyways. He was just curious of her reaction and he got quite the intriguing one. “The school supplies..?” He turned and meandered back to the shipment and the boxes left scattered around, kicking one over. He didn’t seem to be concenred that this super powered girl would shoot a ball of flames at his back; if she wanted to do that, she’d done it already while spying on him.

”I actually didn’t know it was school supplies until I opened it up. These trucks and shipment containers carries different stuff every time, makes for quite the mystery. And I love mysteries.”

Osthien kicked another half empty box over, hearing something shatter inside. “Oops,“ he cringed but the grin on his face told her that he wasn’t sorry at all.

He swiveled back towards her, a webbed finger tentatively raising as though he were trying to think of something. He exhaled, a visible breath of frost that dispersed into the cold night air. “Aren’t you supposed to be back home? I’ll point you to the street where you can ask for directions. Your parents are probably worried.”

Her sudden flare of annoyance dimmed to a small ember as she heard him mention her parents. Joke as it may have been, the mention of her parents dimmed the fire in her to a light orange, the passion that ignited her sparks now gone as his power seemed to overcome hers, the air growing colder with each passing second. Her fire continued to flicker as she experienced a wave of emotions--sadness, then anger, then depression, only to come back as a renewed determination to not show weakness in front of a villain.

"I don't have any parents," she spat, words filled with venom as her hair ignited into strands of red flames, increasing the temperature to well pass boiling as tears seeped out of the corner of her eyes. The droplets of water dripped to the metal containers below, each droplet ending with a resounding hiss. Taking one determined foot towards the man, she reached forward with one hand, attempting to subdue him quickly before he could even think of escaping.

Angry as she might have been, she had no intention of hurting the man. In fact, a part of her was even curious as to why he looked the way he did. Was it a costume or was it...something else? She stared specifically at his webbed fingers, noting that while green skin and golden eyes could be the work of a skin-tight suit and contacts, webbed hands like those that looked as realistic as they did were a different matter.

Aysera willed her flames to die down to a more comfortable level as she reached towards him with every intention of subduing him easily, just as she had done to the many other villains before him. It seemed to her that he was exactly the same as the other everyday villains, their only goal in life to commit petty crimes until the day they die.

"Oops.."

He twisted back from her hand, well aware of the unnatural heat emanating from the girl. The grin slipped off his face the slightest, golden eyes tracking the tears his careless words stole from her eyes. He didn't mean it but it made him curious how a few words could garner such emotion from the fiery girl. The boiling temperatures around her rose to an uncomfortable temperature for him, drying the air and making it hard to breathe, so he went ahead and brought an opened palm to his lips.

He blew a long breath of humid air, the water vapour instantly crystallizing into a burst of frost, akin to freshly fallen snow, to hopefully put out the flames and lower the air temperature surrounding the girl.

Likewise, Osthien didn't have the intention to hurt her. With the distraction of the frost, he bolted towards a different shipping container and climbed up. "You are, literally, too hot for me."

Aysera sputtered as snow slowly drifted onto her face, the sudden movement stopping her mid-movement and dimmed her flames until they were simply warm, much like the warmth of a fireplace. She grew curious at his demeanor, wondering why he hadn't tried to hurt her by now. Rather, it felt as if he was just... playing around, like a kid experiencing playing with new toys for the first time. She did notice him falter when he could literally feel her anger oozing off of her, his playful smile noticeably falling.

In the midst of her surprise, Aysera flinched as he bolted towards a different shipping container and climbed up, her eyes following his every movement not in scrutinization, but curious wonder. The air seemed to increase in temperature the more he distanced himself from her. There was something otherworldly about him that she couldn't put her finger on--as if, he was different from any other villain she'd met, any other human even.

Her hand lingered in the direction he was currently in, as if trying to grasp at him even though she was too far to do so. A blush formed on her face as she heard him comment on how hot she was for him. Even though she knew what he truly meant, she felt embarrassed for immediately assuming that he thought she was attractive. The flames cascading up and down her hair turned light pink, annoyance consuming her at the fact that her hair was literally a permanent mood ring she could never get rid of less she shaved herself bald.

"Well-! Well, you're," she began, her words a jumbled mess as she could feel heat rising from her neck up to the sides of her cheeks.

"You're too cold for me!," her shout resonating across the silent night and echoing across the empty roads. Lips formed into a pout and fists wrapped into a fist, she stared to the side unable to meet his gaze, confused as to why she wasn't just capturing this criminal right now and heading on home to warm bed and warm chocolate milk. He didn't seem like other criminals. He didn't seem like he wanted to hurt her and for that, she couldn't bring herself to hurt him. Because...if he did want to hurt her, he would have done so already, right?

"Aww, I'm so glad to know that!" Osthien swiveled and wandered, one foot after another in a straight line, to the edge of the shipping container. His back was to her but he noted her fiery hair which now glowed pink of all things. He snorted loudly as if unafraid anyone else would hear. "Lovely pink hair too!"

He tilted his eyes to the night sky. Countless stars twinkled their beauty like a canvas of sparkles. There was not a spot of cloud to be found and that meant no rain or snow. It was far from the freeze it would need to reach snowing temperatures but he rather liked the rain. He removed a small baton like object from his hip and allowed it to extend into a full sized staff that reached about his own height. From the shine of the metal when it caught the streetlights just right, it was clear the staff was technology.

"Might wanna go ahead and clean that up," he gestured to the school supplies and the torn empty boxes, "If you want the university to get their things that is."

Osthien smirked back at her, as if daring her to play this strange game some more, as if daring her to chase him. His golden eyes glinted back at the girl. It was all so amusing. Placing both hands onto the staff, he channeled his powers through it, the staff frosting up and spitting an icy storm out the other end. He deftly leapt off the edge of the container and onto an icy slide that carried him across, over a parked car, and onto an average sidewalk.

She twirled her her pink locks around her fingertips and pushed all her hair onto the front of her left shoulder as she blushed profusely at his comment, the color of her flames growing a lighter and lighter pink the more she allowed herself to be affected by his infuriating words. Her red colored hues themselves even turned a shade of a pink, albeit darker than the shade of her hair. From when she discovered her powers until now, she vowed to never show emotions needlessly in front of anyone for fear they'll use it against her. Annoyance at herself consumed her at the fact that her body chose now to wear her heart on her sleeve.

Before she could mutter anything coherent, she became a deer in headlights as he gave her one final smirk before sliding down a slide made of ice and into the distance. How the slide appeared within a span of a few seconds, she couldn't comprehend in her state of stupor.

A few moments passed by, her shock overwhelming her at how weak and at his bidding she found herself. Pink hues took in the broken glass and containers at her feet and she contemplated cleaning this mess up for the villain or play his game and chase him down. Before she could even think of her choice, her body seemed to have a mind of its own as fire exploded from the soles of her feet, flames red hot as they launched her up into the air. Her bright pink hair could be noticeable from a distance, but at the moment, she couldn't care less.

"Wait!," her voice cracking in a hoarse scream as her eyes flickered from left to right, trying to find a speck of blue in the mass of buildings and cars before her. Whether she wanted to arrest him or just satisfy her curiosity of who he was or even what he was, she didn't know, but she went for it anyway.

The moonlit night guided her way as small bursts of flame continuously propelled her up into the air, pink hair strewn in all directions the faster she flew.

And at last, a noticeable moving blue speck could be seen from down below. She increased the power of her fire, the soles of her feet burning red hot while she purposely fell down to the world below.

A desperate arm reached out as she drew nearer and nearer, her voice filled with pure frustration and yet a bit of delight at having found him.

"Who are you?," she asked.

Osthien didn't care if the girl followed or not though inwardly, every trait of her, pink hair and all, intrigued him. It gave him a small rush, facing off with various heroes or, better yet, spying on them rather than confronting them directly.

He rested his staff on his shoulder, sticking his other webbed hand into his pants pocket. He might as well have whistled but he found the idea cliche and really obnoxious. His trajectory lead to the docks, but more specifically, the ocean. It was frigid at this time of night in this kind of cold but he just found it refreshing. Each of his steps left an icy imprint on the sidewalk, the frost spiraling into short fractals behind before it stopped.

The streetlights casted a warm gold on him, accenting his gleaming eyes and making his skin appear more green than it was its pastel turqoise. The girl's natural heat and the light of her blazing feet alerted him before he saw her. And, of course, her demands.

Osthien whipped around, staff swinging. In less than a second, the end of his staff was pointed directly at her form. A flurry of harsh blizzard snow shot out at her, intending to quell her flames, especially the ones shooting out from her soles - how were her shoes intact at this point? Or were they fireproof - and cover her, yet again, with the soft crystals. The imagery of it made him snort.

"So, this a chase then?" He asked simply, a dark teal eyebrow quirked up, completely ignoring both her demands. His golden eyes narrowed but they still had that mischievous glint of amusement. The staff pointed ninety degrees to the ground and he rested his entire weight on it, arms and chin on the other end. Under the streelight, even his skin had some sort of shine to it, like it was constantly wet.

"I think the question should be,” he grinned, “Who do you think I am?"

A small, surprised gasp escaped her lips unwillingly as a harsh blizzard came at her with an angry force. Heart fluttering with excitement, swelling, Aysera instinctively curled her right hand into a fist, punching in the direction of the blizzard as a sudden burst of red hot flames shot out from around her skin. It scattered the blizzard in all directions, small embers meeting each snow pellet in a passionate dance.

Reddened lips curling with the most adrenaline-filled smile, Aysera stopped just a few inches before him, her blazing hair now a mere soft pink simmer as she willingly cooled in his presence. Pink hues eyed his staff with caution for a brief moment despite the excitement consuming her body. Her eyes slipped shut for the barest moment, trying to catch her breath, fingers absentmindedly inching to touch him on the chest and yelling out "Tag!," much like a child.

This moment felt surreal somehow. Different, because she never found herself out of control of her emotions in anyone's presence, let alone a villain, and she couldn't put her finger on why. There was just something there... and she wanted to figure out exactly what it was. His "costume", was especially curious. She glanced up and down his body within the few mere moment she took to catch her breath and glanced up and down at his physique from under her eyelids. He almost looked wet in the moonlight and a small part of her wanted to run a hand down his arm, just to see what it felt like.

"Do you want it to be a chase?," she mumbled under her breath, her words soft as her throat clenched in adrenaline yet audible. Unable to help herself, her gaze flickered up to look into his golden hues, the color so bright she was afraid she might burn under his gaze.

How ironic, seeing as she was literally made of fire.

"And as for who you are... I'm not sure. That's what makes you so interesting. Tell me." The words came out suddenly, a slight flush brightening her cheeks as she pursed her lips into a pout in annoyance. It almost seemed as if she was complimenting him and she couldn't have that.

He wasn't concerned with the bloom of red hot flames that erupted from her fist, confident his spew of snow would meet it and spell both of the force's doom. Only a faint residue of the heat was left behind, one that didn't concern him at all. But, the delicate fingers that poked him on the chest and the voice that called out 'tag' did, and he absolutely grinned toothily, showing pearly white but sharp teeth. They were akin to the colour of seafoam.

His clothing consisted of a sleeveless top that was both water resistant, for the various undocumented materials in the oceans, and hydrophobic enough that it didn't bog him down when swimming. It was sleek but also very plain looking, appearing to be simple felt-like leather material. His dark pants had a similar design and had similar purposes. He wore shoes, this time, except he stole them, unbeknownst to the hero before him.

"Well," he breathed, frosted air following in an exhale, "You did 'tag' me, was it? And isn't 'tag' a game of chasing you people and children like to play?" Especially among the human children. He'd seen them running about on playgrounds on warm Sunday afternoons.

Osthien knew she had been very much enraptured by his gaze and by his basic existence overall and he grinned at that, tilting his head. The colour that flushed the girl's cheeks nearly made him laugh. "But I'm so glad you're this fond of me to play this game with me," he told her, voice nearly melodic, "So, how about this?"

Raising a single webbed finger and with an annoyingly slow speed, he poked her in the center of her ribcage. "Tag!"

He bursted down the sidewalk, the end of his staff showering her with a flurry of soft snow yet again while he created a continous icy trail to slide forward on the sidewalk.

The crinkling mirth of her eyes appeared at his words just as fast as it disappeared as a scaly finger touched her in the center of her ribcage, only to shift into something slightly lovelier, gentler. His voice was melodic, he was a siren from the depths of the ocean singing to her, trying to lure her into its deadly grasp. Breath caught in her throat as he quickly burst down the sidewalk. She sputtered out bits of snow as he sprayed her with the end of his staff, and her eyes glowed yellow, almost golden as she watched him slide down a icy trail and onto the distance. Even as her body wracked with powerful shivers at the cold, the flames of excitement of her soul and the rapid beats of her heart kept her going.

Much like a flare gun being shot from the ground up, Aysera's soles burned with a fiery passion as she soared into the night sky, her hair glowing with golden flames. It appeared as if she was replacing the sun itself with her golden glow and burning passion, burning brighter than the sun ever could. If it was a game he wished for, it was a game he shall have, villainy be damned.

Golden hues shined bright as they spotted a bluish figure on a clear, icy trail that would appear with every step he took. She scowled slightly at the mess he made of the road, unsure of whether or not she should do her job and stop him or continue to have more fun than she's had in years. The soles of her feet sputtered as she gave herself continuous bursts of speed, just barely being able to keep up with him. At the speed she was going, the wind would smack her face consistently, so much so that tears involuntarily seeped out of the corner of her eyes only to sizzle into nothing before they even left her eyes.

Aysera opened her mouth to speak to him as she matched his pace from a few feet above, but only found herself stiffening as she remembered the little blizzards who send directly to her face. It was only natural that she wanted to pay back in kind.

"You'll probably like rain, right?!," she shouted from above, as little droplets of fire with an almost lava-like consistency, rained down from her fingertips and onto the ground below. Girlish giggles escaped her lips then, happiness overcoming her and erasing whatever logical thought process she had. Even as a small part of her worried of what she was getting into, she couldn't find it within herself to resist the temptation that was her companion.

The ocean lay a couple blocks away past these residential blocks and he could smell it, taste its saltiness that called him to embrace its loving arms. He whipped through the sidewalk as though skating, each step garnering new ice to form beneath his feet. Shoulders rolled back, knees bent and golden eyes set forward, he glided effortlessly on beautiful sheets of ice that crackled and spiraled into existence with each contact. He wished he could take his shoes off; it'd be much easier and his movements would be more controlled if he could feel the liquid water transform into ice itself.

He threw his head up and cackled delightfully, giddy with how he was automatically made the leader in this game. His veins thrummed with the force of adrenaline and his gills flared in the icy air, an involuntary response. Osthien sucked in the scent of the ocean and blew it out through his lips, a visible frosted breath. His staff shrank and he hooked it back on his belt in the process.

The girl's light was ever present, brighter than the dim in comparison streetlights that shown on his form, brighter than the moon that showed its gentle face this night. His laugh boomed through the night, nevertheless gentle with an edge of amusement. "Why," he began, eyes dead set forward as residential homes morphed into a beach, "I do like rain myself. It-"

He just didn't expect the droplets to consist of a hot lava like substance instead of the sweet, life giving water he knew. It hissed upon contact and ate into the ice path he'd made for himself. His arms swung desperately back and forth as he attempted to stop and move at the same time, more his body uncertain of the movement he intended than his brain. Something like sharp hot metal hit the back of his left calve and immediately, he collapsed. Knees hit the partially melted ice path, gasping. It burned and he cursed loudly in his native tongue before rolling to the side, across some of the sand to avoid the brunt of the 'rain'.

"Not nice."

On pure impulse, Aysera lurched forward as he collapsed onto the sand in a fit of pain, cursing in some language that she had never heard before as quiet concern etched upon her face. She evidently assumed that it was just him mumbling in gibberish. Her incessant laughter stopped as guilt seeped into her heart and she knelt at his side, her hair taking on a darker, bluish flame, almost as dark as the dead of night. Her eyes lost their shine, leaving a dull blue in their place. She eyed the small droplets of lava sizzling and melting into his beautiful sheets of ice, a sad expression overtaking her once shining visage.

She had destroyed something beautiful, yet again, with her cursed, destructive flames that she sometimes wished she never had. As much as she had disliked the cold before, she perhaps despised the heat even more. The memories that she had so desperately tried to forget, or even at least lock away, came rushing back towards her.

Delicate fingers inched towards his body in want of making sure that she didn't hurt him too much only to flinch abruptly; her jaw going taut and her eyes snapping open wide as she saw the small burn mark at the back of his left calve. Her bottom lip shed blood, the force of her teeth upon the delicate, pink skin too strong to defend against. A small, mangled sound of despair bubbled up inside of her tight throat and burst as tears cascaded quickly down the side of her pinking cheeks. Her hands formed into tight fists as she laid them on top of her thighs, her head hung low for she couldn't bear to look at him.

For someone aspiring to be a hero, she had been the one to hurt this man first. Perhaps she was more of a villain than he was, because someone who could laugh and smile like that was probably kinder than she could ever be.

"I'm sorry," she squeaked out, her throat constricting enough to be painful. Amongst the ocean, the moon, and this villain, the only thing she found to be despicable in the moment, was herself.

The injury was small but remained a grotesque thing, shades of terrible black and nauseating crisped up dark blue. The bright lava had burned through pastel skin and nerves like a hot knife through butter. It didn't show bone when he pulled himself up to inspect it but he doubted the degree of the injury would've made a difference with how it throbbed as though someone was still dribbling liquid fire onto it. He thought the icy air or the ocean breeze would soothe it but somehow, it only made the injury sting.

"Tch.."
Osthien huffed, sounding more grumpy than actually upset as he turned his head to the side. He eyed the crashing waves -home- but wrinkled his nose, already imagining the burn of the salty ocean against his new wound. He shifted his legs, the moonlight casting a shadow down on his face as he looked down to carefully tap a finger just above the wound. It was already all angry around the discoloured skin but a small sheet of frost trailed from his webbed finger to cover the entire thing. The frost helped numb it slightly.

Glancing at the crying girl next to him, he found it extremely discomforting. Awkward. Humans didn't do that unless under emotional duress and he didn't see how him getting injured as a result of this chase would incur her tears. Her blue eyes were all swollen and cheeks pink with hot tears; he saw now that he was close enough to reach out and touch her. "You know you're bleeding, right?" He gestured to his own lips, seeing the crimson liquid bead up on her pink lips. "The red stuff?"

"But I really don't know why you're crying. I'm hurt, not you,"
he told her so bluntly as if the simple fact would fix everything and she'd smile again. Osthien found some strange and buried desire within him to see her delicate lips stretch into that joyful grin again. The frown put too much strain on them.

Aysera stiffened a little as she became vaguely aware of the taste of iron against her lips, and she swallowed nervously. "Sorry..." she whispered, feeling her face grow hot. "I didn't mean to make this about me. I just...," she stopped, unsure of what else to say as the desire to completely deny to him that she cried at all overcame her. Aysera looked up from her lap, her eyes wide and blue, except a lighter shade of blue colored by her tears. She eyed him from the corner of her eye as the sea was suddenly more interesting than anything else and gave him a slow blink, her panicked gaze running softly over the features of his face.

Feeling abundantly embarrassed and like she had done more than enough, she mutely crawled closer to his side and took a closer look at this wound, the wound that she caused. Her heartbeat pounded deafeningly in her ears, dizzying her mind, her stomach flipping constantly.

"Is-is there anything I can do? I'm not a healer," she muttered, running her hand through her wilting hair, the strands now cascading down her back rather than flowing as it had done before," I just destroy things."

"And-and,"
she sputtered nervously, an intense urge to vomit overcoming her as she instantly put some distance between them, biting her cheek. "And, I don't even know you and you're like a villain, I guess?," the question lingering in the air as if she wasn't sure whether or not he was a villain or just some annoying kid wanting to commit petty theft. She ran a tired hand through her hand with a tired sigh, feeling completely defeated while she cocked her head a little in his direction.

And she suddenly wished she hadn't as golden hues seemed to lock her in, her gaze unwavering while her mouth stood agape--as if in awe at how the eyes could seem so... real.

"Oh, I don't know," he almost seemed to hum, voice ringing soft among the background sounds of the soothing waves. He leaned in until they were only inches apart, gaze gold and sharp as he stared at her almost crystalline blue eyes. They reminded him of the ocean, but a storming ocean full of hidden rage. They looked too pretty to be clouded with tears like that. He ducked back just as quick, raising a hand to obnoxiously rub at his chin.

"Am I like a villain? What do you think, hmm?" He enjoyed this, turning every thought and question she had against her. He knew it was annoying but it was also addictingly so, if nothing short of manipulation. He grinned, golden eyes alight with life once again.

Osthien tucked his legs underneath himself and popped right up, unprepared for the ache that followed as he put weight on his injured calve. He simply shifted his weight onto the other foot and planted his fists to his hips like some hero who'd just accomplished an impossible task. His movements seemed effortless and smooth, like the sweet curvature and roll of the waves succumbing to gravity. "And I'm fine," he shrugged the deed off like water off his streamline back, glancing to the call of the ocean and then back.

He extended a hand to help the girl up. "What's your name, little flame?"

She didn't know how long she sat there, unmoving, unblinking, wide eyes locked on golden hues that seemed calmer than she ever could be, and it gave her a sense of idiocy for allowing her emotions to get so out of hand. Her mind couldn't seem to properly take in what was right in front, couldn't seem to process that he was only a few mere inches away from her face and she forgot to breathe. His eyes reminded her of the sun, but different in that she felt enveloped in a certain, calming warmth as he stared deep into the depths of her soul, completely differently than how his powers physically made her feel.

It felt as if a century had passed when he leaned back and she flinched, her chest expanding exponentially as she exhaled all the air she had been holding in prior, making her nervousness all the more noticeable. "Am I like a villain?," he had said in an almost arrogant yet teasing manner, a confident hand resting obnoxiously underneath his chin, pulling her from her stunned trance. "What do you think, hmm?"

Aysera raised an eyebrow at that, a small smirk gracing her delicate lips as the fear and guilt she felt just moments before seemingly disappearing as if she had never felt them in the first place. Both the strands of her hair and the iris of her eyes slowly began to regain their natural color, both red and grey, respectively. It was almost as if he had calmed her, but she wasn't sure if she should mention that for it might overinflate his ego a bit too much. The smirk small faltered for just a moment as she noticed him leaning on his good leg more so than the injured leg and while she admired his tenacity and ability to hide his pain, a part of her wished he held some anger towards her for it was justified. Movements so smooth and graceful as he played off his injuries as if they were nothing, she found herself in awe at the way he carried himself, as if he were a part of the ocean.

Aysera stared at his webbed hand first as he placed it in front of her, grey hues flickering up towards his own golden ones and then back down, his words forcing her out of the trance she was in. "Name? My name?," she mumbled, unsure for a second what her name was. Heart giving a slow, elongated flutter at his kindness, Aysera smiled gently, only for a small, playful smirk to replace her gentle visage once more as she grasped his hand with her own and held onto it with a tight grip.

"Aysera," she stated confidently before an eyebrow arched up high in a vaguely annoyed, yet playful manner. "Little flame? What's your name then, Snowflake?," she asked as her smile widened, her stomach fluttering warmly. "And... no, you don't seem like a villain, but then again, I barely know you," she hummed out thoughtfully, the reluctance in her waning ever so slightly.

A slow grin took his face. Osthien slowly swiveled to the side, facing the roar of the ocean, and blew out an icy breath. He laughed, first quietly, the sort of laugh that was silent but somehow still rang through the cold air before it morphed into an almost girlish giggle that had him doubling over to hold onto his stomach. A slender tear escaped his eye, immediately frosting up on his pastel sea green skin. He wiped it away, flicking it in Aysera's direction.

"Snowflake?" The grin remained, teasingly so. He took a confident step forward, instilling the fact he were taller than her but he didn't mean to intimidate. He'd noticed the way her emotions were rollercoastering ever since they met back at the shipments and he simply wanted to see how she'd react, push her further. The way his dark teal eyebrow arched mocked her expression. "That's so cute!"

His head cocked to the side slightly as he studied her ever changing face and her forever changing eyes. He liked the blue on them, now they were a dull grey-red, like embers on a smoky and dying fire.

He spun back dramatically, only wincing once, and spread his arms wide as though he'd just won the nobel prize. The grin on his face somehow grew, looking like a kid on Christmas day. "Snowflake I'll be then!"

His arms dropped with an audible slap of webbed palms against pants. He deflated quickly, shooting a playful smirk her way. "Since you shared your name, though, the name's Osthien."

"I-I-I," she stuttered , her voice an octave higher than usual as he invaded her space. She cleared her throat, trying to hide that she had stuttered in the first place, noticing vaguely that he was quite the bit taller than her. A furious blush struck her cheeks and invaded the iris of her eyes--one of many tonight, it seemed--and she protested with a loud, "No! It's not supposed to be cute!," as her hair immediately exploded into a puff of smoke before turning a very, very bright pink.

His voice was like smooth butter, and she found herself melting under the weight of the siren's voice, her heart fluttering pleasantly. She looked at him from one long burst of a moment, not knowing what to say, but comfortable in the quiet as she mulled over his name. It was a strange name, one she hadn't ever heard of before, but it sounded beautiful nonetheless. Thunder cracked loudly in the sky with enough force to cause her to flinch, but the moment couldn't be broken, at least from her perspective.

She was a deer in headlights, mesmerized by his bright smile and his barely noticeable flinch of pain as a small tinge of worry enveloped her. She slowly nodded at his words and her brows furrowed in thought for a moment. Then, she gave him a look, moving noiselessly in his direction. Barely a few inches from his chest, she looked at him wistfully, admiring every line of his face and acquitting it to memory, before she just as soundlessly wrapped her arms around him. It was an awkward, stiff hug as she whispered calmly, "I'm sorry."

"It's a beautiful name,"
she continued, clearing her throat as she suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of calmness, worries about heroism and villainy gone for the time being.

His every muscle tensed under her embrace. His skin didn't feel slimy nor particularly wet but it felt cold, with a certain clamminess to it as if he'd gone swimming recently. He had some warmth but he also smelled of the salt ocean and the breeze it carried. The suspicion might've been confirmed by the faint moisture in his clothing; any water his clothing had absorbed had been turned bitterly cold by the temperature in the air, something he never noticed nor minded.

"Huh.." Osthien pushed out, the singular word incredibly awkward compared to the smooth confidence he spoke with before. He tilted his head down and instinctively to the side. For the moment, the siren had lost his voice, shocked by the turn of events. Gold eyes widened into almost saucers as he simply stood there in observation, left befuddled and absolutely confuse by the girl's actions. First, she cried over an injury he received, not her, and now it seemed she was hugging him for the same reason.

"You're an odd one," he concluded quickly, as if snapping back into his personality. Pastel cool webbed fingers wrapped around the back of hers and gently unwrapped her arms around him. He pushed her away. He didn't intend to be mean or harsh about it but it could be misunderstood that he was rejecting the hug she offered. Osthien was back to his cheeky and grinning self. "But thanks!"
