the future isn't always bright

The time is approximately O55O A.M. The students that can sleep are sleeping blissfully when a sharp and quick sound enters their ears, the sound is so incredibly loud that those who have eardrums temporarily lose their hearing. Naturally, they are drawn to the lounge area window, wondering what was the source of this sound. It is then that they see an unidentifiable animal scaling the wall, attaching what appears to be a detonation device to the building before there’s time to respond, the device detonates. An alarm goes off, the building initiates its lockdown protocol. Knowing that the building’s foundation is compromised and that the establishment is likely to crumble, evacuation is on everyone’s mind, the dormitories are on the highest floor. Students are well aware of the various evacuation routes, the only issue is getting there safely.

M I S S I O N ➀

Hᴀʀsʜ Rᴇᴀʟɪᴛʏ
Dr. Faust has been evading authorities for quite some time. He’s wanted for illegal experimentation. He has created an army of extraterrestrial hybrids that obey his every command. Though usually the type to lay low, a particular student (Frey) has piqued his interest, and he desires to obtain a sample of their DNA by any means necessary. He sends three of his creatures to each dorm, by his side his most loyal companion, they are en route to the infirmary.

O B J E C T I V E S

⒈ Evacuate the building, assist with evacuating everyone inside the building this includes, but is not limited to staff.

⒉ Disarm bombs located in the school gym, mess hall, and pool.

⒊ Subdue all of Faust’s creatures, hostile or otherwise.

⒋ Apprehend Dr. Faust.

TORIN

location: dorm 3, en route to classroom 105
with: MokkaDrip MokkaDrip Zerulu Zerulu -ferret- -ferret-

Torin's arm was positioned across his face, shielding his moneymaker from debris. He preferred that the limb that had no nerve endings sustained damage if any. The loud boom made his ears ring, causing a moment of discombobulation. Torin was certain that whatever creature placed the bomb, would soon emerge through the entrance they had created. It was time to act, and act fast. He truly wasn't concerned with his roommates aside from Bluu, she was his teammate, after all, it was his job to delegate and assist as needed.

Once the ringing had stopped, Torin stood tall, his voice clear as he spoke to Bluu directly. "Grab your armor before that thing attacks, we need to get out of here, who knows how many of them there are." The other gold squad members should know the location of the rendezvous point (classroom 105), but just in case, he would send out a message to the group once he had his armor on.

Lithe legs race towards his room where his armor was kept. Torin applied the armor in record time and sent out a message to the remaining gold squadmates. "Attention we're under attack, make way to the rendezvous point, and wait for further instructions." And don't fucking die. Is what he wanted to add but refrained from doing so.

Xan had been asleep when he was rudely awoken by a sharp sound in the air, and then a ringing in his ears. He scrambled his way out of bed, tripping on his covers as he rushed out of the dorm room and to the window. He saw Torin shield his face with his mechanical arm (a beautiful piece of hardware if Xan was being honest) before another boom sounded and Xan was ducking behind some furniture to avoid being struck. He poked his head out and saw a giant hole and Torin giving orders to get armour on. Torin might not have been talking to him, but as the only squad lead in their dorm, Xan was going to listen. So Xan quickly stumbled back to his room with Kemel, taking his armour off the hook. His armor, unlike others, was two pieces for easy donning. It was also thin material and devoid of the many metal plates that Kemel's had. Being part of a defense team and more likely to be swift in his offense and defense meant that he didn't need to be as padded and armored. Rather than Kemel, who was likely to take more hits and would benefit from more metal plates.
He quickly pulled up the pants and buttoned the clasp at the waist, easily encasing his tail which had flared the fin nervously. He then pulled the metal plates shirt over his head. He buckled his toolbelt around his waist when he heard a rather reptilian roar followed by a chilling chittering sound. He immediately grabbed his small laser knife and adopted a defensive stance. His tail swished behind him in a nervous manner. The creature at the door was rather cute, but Xan wouldn't be fooled into thinking it wasn't deadly. The creature hissed and Xan could see its sharp teeth. Xan hissed right back, refusing to be intimidated.

Faene's eyes shot open, her body stiff as a board beneath the sheets. She'd managed to dismiss the initial blast as one of those extrasensory dreams that had a habit of coinciding with something loud happening in the real world, like an explosive death at the same time as someone slamming their room's door in the dead of night, but unknowingly losing her sense of hearing didn't stop her from feeling how unsteady the floor beneath her bed was getting. Then came the deafening ringing that trailed behind recovering eardrums, and she decided this was worth getting out of bed... Ten minutes early. Whipping the blanket to the side and all but combat-rolling onto the floor at the foot of her nightstand, the very slight tilt to the room became much more apparent. Something was very, very wrong.

300... 299... 298... 297...

She started counting in her head, and dove her arms beneath her bed to pull out the case she kept her armor in. Turning over her shoulder at the opposite side of the room, where Bardot was still tightly packed into bed. "Bardot! Put on your gear on and check in with Nox," she yelled, mostly out of inability to hear herself, and zipping herself into the skin-tight, onyx black jumpsuit. "Two hundred ninety-one... Two hundred ninety... Finally," Faene began broadcasting to the rest of her squad, "On your feet, everybody. Not a drill this time. You each have two hundred eighty-four seconds to gear up and meet me in the gym, or I make you do fifty push-ups with my boot on your back. Onyx Lead, signing out." With that, she slipped on her rings, made them fuse and hum a few times by making fists, and looked towards the exit. Stepping like she was angry with the floor, Faene started racing to their meeting point, trying not to smile at the thought of someone getting there late. Two hundred fifty-seven seconds left.

Tartimok went for a jog every morning, this morning was no different. While he worked on cardio mainly for himself, there was a small fraction that did it so that Faene couldn’t say he wasn’t a productive member of the team.

He was seated comfortably on the couch in the lounge area eating the breakfast of champions, Cheetos. TJ wasn’t sure who decided to cut off the toes of cheetahs and make them into a snack, but that human has an absolute genius. He could eat a hundred bags a day and never grow tired of them.

Breakfast would have to be put on hold, due to glass shards flying in every direction. TJ was very unhappy with current events, but he did his best to compose himself. If he was in danger, if his ears were aching, if a weird tiger looking thing was attacking him, then something similar could be happening to his sister as well, and he didn’t trust his sister’s roommates to protect her (no offense Faene).

TJ decided that Xiomara and Arlar were far too small to handle this creature. So he did what any good Samaritan would do and charged after the beast (without armor). Letting out a blood-curdling screech the creature slashed at Tartimok, the young alien crossed his arms and shielded his vital organs from the blow. The strike itself wasn't painful, in fact, he couldn't feel anything, which was odd.

The pale-haired boy found himself limp as a noodle on the floor, unable to move his body, it would seem that those talons could do more than scratch, they could paralyze. It was then that he heard the last voice he wanted to hear at this time, Faene's. Knowing that he would need to as Faene would say get his fecal matter together, he called out for help "Abel! I am in the predict of ments my friends and in need of your metal muscles."

"mucus monster"
xiomara

Though Xio couldn’t quite remember what she had been dreaming about, it must have been a good one. At the sound of the boom, Xio cracked her eyelids open and unfurled herself from the blanket cocoon she had wrapped around herself in her sleep. Her ears were ringing, but the bomb wasn’t her first concern as her half-awake state left her weary.
“Seriously? A bomb? At this hour?” Xio groaned, rubbing her eyes with the back of her sleeve sleepily. Couldn’t the explosion have waited another five minutes?
Xio quickly realized that it wasn’t the time to complain when she received a message from Torin, the leader of the Gold Squadron- her own. She hopped to her feet and tossed her pillows aside, reaching for the pocket knife stored beneath them. Xio slipped on her form-fitted, gold sheen armor, which was just light enough for her small figure.
Xio quickly heard a cry from the lounge area- well, not really a cry, more like a monstrous scream. She raced to the scene to find a paralyzed TJ sprawled out on the floor. She rolled her eyes. Team Gold would have to wait for her at the rendezvous point.
“I’m not Abel. Sorry to disappoint, roomie.” She grabbed TJ by the shirt collar and lifted him in a seated position, shoving him up against the wall and out of the way of the creature. It took a lot of energy to shift his tall, muscly figure. In fact, she hadn’t really gotten a good look at it until now. Noticing TJ’s inability to use his limbs, she realized that this creature may have been the cause, and judging by the long slash marks, it must have come from it’s...claws? Talons? She wasn’t familiar with this sort of species.
Xio quickly assessed her surroundings. She could throw her knife, but she would risk losing her only weapon. Plus, her knife was near and dear to her. Xio picked up a large shard of glass from beneath her boot and hurled it at the thing’s eye dripping with mucus. Blinding was a go-to for Xio. However, knifework wasn’t a skill in her repertoire, and the glass landed just below it’s right eye. The thing screeched in agony, but no serious damage had been done. A very, very minor wound.
Xio quickly sent a voice-to-text message to Torlin- sorry boss mucus monster in lounge blocking exit.
“We need to evacuate immediately. Who knows how many of these things there are!” She shouted at TJ. Xio knew she couldn’t hall TJ out of here, and no matter how badly she wanted to, she couldn’t leave him. So, she decided it would be best to wait for Abel, or whoever, to come as backup. In the meantime, she gathered together more glass pieces and poorly chucked them at the Mucus Monster.

Needless to say Kemel was instantly shocked by the explosions, taking him a few seconds through his tired daze to realise what was happening, a single thought goes through his mind as he sees the aftermath of the explosion, 'Oh shit.' Kemel gets off his bed and rushes to make sure his roommates are safe, it didn't bother him that Torin didn't worry about him or Xan, it just meant when the time came he shouldn't worry about Torin. "Xan, Bluu, .... Torin, You guys alright?" He called out as he opened the metal case at the foot of his bed, retrieving his armour given to him, a smirk shined across his face as he suited up, from the sabaton all the way to the helmet. Kemel retrieved his personal Heavy Machine Gun out of his closet that he only kept for emergencies and recreational purposes, this seemed like one of those emergency times. As he locked and loaded Kemel positioned himself in the center of the room looking down the breached wall, waiting patiently for whatever made the hole to come through.

However, all good things like an impending massacre must come to an end, his squad leader Faene called over their team comms, regroup at the gym in 200 or so seconds or do 50 push ups. "Copy that, boss" Kemel responded on the Onyx channel, though he already knew Faene turned signed off her comms, for whatever reason. As Kemel turned for the door he eyed his roommates, "Don't tell anyone about this" He lifted his Heavy Machine Gun higher, he knew he probably wasn't allowed one in his dorm, but he had it in case stuff like this happened, which his roommates should actually commend him for.

Kemel left his dorm, running to the rendezvous point marked by his squad leader, he took less often used hallways to bypass the general panicked crowds that would certainly be crowding them. It didn't take much running before he made it to the gym, "What's my time, coach?" He joked as he reunited with his squad.

Mars deliriousmishaps deliriousmishaps - Communicating to Xan -ferret- -ferret- , Arlar Huntertabbysandshark3 Huntertabbysandshark3

Uzali was a fairly deep sleeper, it took a lot in order to wake her up. Most have tried and failed to awaken the alien princess from her slumber a numerous of times; but Uzali couldn't be woken up through simple, regular methods. The only one who has ever succeeded in awakening was her twin sibling. It became almost like a game; where her obnoxious brother would attempt various different tricks to disturb Uzali from her rest. It wasn't until one day, the older sibling(by a literal nanosecond) did something so heinous that caused Uzali to wake up, resulting in half the wing of the families sleeping quarters to be destroyed. Needless to say, things will get very destructive should the alien ever be awoken prematurely.

That said, the princess did have an internal awakening time, that was typically set for 7:00am, earthen time. Which she promptly woke up to, every single day, no matter the occasion. So as the building began to shake, and furniture shifted; including the very bed she was sleeping on, Uzali still did not wake. Even Faene's obviously loud voice coming from the other bedroom, wasn't enough to wake the alien. It wasn't until a particularly large, skull crushing sized piece of metal fell from the ceiling and came within inches of smashing the unconscious alien's head; when suddenly a shimmery, silver-ish shield barrier formed instantly over her form-effectively shielding her from the falling ceiling tile. The alien princess' eyes snapped open immediately, showing her now alert ice blue irises. Sitting up in her bed, the Zatyrian looked around her surroundings in confusion; the shimmery shield dissipating from her body and raised a defined brow at the sight of the crumbled debris on her bed, as well as on the floor. The sight of it unnerved her, but the blaring sirens, and shouting that filtered through her ears was a much more concerning matter. Getting out her bedding, Uzali came to the quick conclusion that what was happening was an attack upon the base. If the sudden sight of a animistic creature suddenly crawling down the dorm room window was of any indication.

Her eye's unblinkingly watched as the creature paused, seeming to sense that there was a presence inside this particular room. When it suddenly screeched, and shot it's clawed arm through supposed bulletproof glass window. Uzali wasn't necessarily afraid, she was used to the beasts that roamed on her home planet, they even had a zirkek that they had trained to become the family pet. However, she could tell that the creature was not a familiar one, it seemed like a hybrid of something she couldn't identify. Yet. Which meant she needed to get down to the research lab and get the data. Something told her this creature wasn't the only one. The light haired alien adjusted the platinum bracelet on her wrist, and once she pressed the sapphire button placed on it-a stark white suit with blue highlights detailing it, encased her slim form. It was the uniform provided by the academy, with personal adjustments and customization's made by the intelligent alien. Black just wasn't her color, to put it simply. Once her combative suit was on and secure, the Platinum squad leader wasted no time in turning on her communications system, and a small holographic screen appeared from her right wrist. It showed the special codes of each of her squad mates.

" This is Altovar, I am requesting that you all report in at the designated location. Yes. I will send in the coordinates shortly. It is impera..." Uzali grit her teeth when she couldn't recall how to properly use the word she had in mind. Why was earth language so fickle? "-report back when you've received these words. Yes." With quick fingers, Uzali transferred over the information for where the team was to meet, the research lab. There was an evacuation and emergency supplies located there, as well as it was located in an underground section of the academy. Her attention shot back to the window where the creature that was previously there, had vanished. And now, Uzali had an unsettling feeling in her chest. As though she were being hunted. " Medical ass- I mean, Mars, we are to head down to research lab. Gather your gear and follow me when you are feeling the prepared." The squad leader instructed as well as she could to her personal room mate, and began making her way out the dorm room. Assuming the rest of her dorm partners were already evacuated. A thought entered her mind as the alien princess headed out the dorm, power walking very swiftly towards the floor elevator. She turned back on her communicator, patching a connection through to Tartimok. " Brother...brother-" She wasn't getting an immediate response for some reason. Perhaps he was being difficult? "-do you hear me? Answer my voice you kirshnork(bad alien words hehe)."

Location: Dorm room, with Tartimok Fanaa Fanaa and Xiomara illegallyblonde illegallyblonde

Up until now, Abel had been peacefully charging in the corner, sat down so as not to strain his charger cable. Now he had just been awoken by the sound of his own name, and he was staring at a peculiar creature. Quickly assessing the situation, he noticed that both Xo and TJ were in the room, with the creature stalking towards them. TJ was incapacitated, while Xo was carrying him.

Quickly standing up, Abel charged the beast from behind- unarmoured as well- lunging at it and holding it down best he can. His body was on it, his legs holding onto the body and his arms holding down the front limbs. Turning his head up, he calmly but sternly said to Xo; "Run to the others- get TJ medical attention. I don't know what happened but I have a feeling it's bad." He turned his attention back to the creature, slightly grimacing when he realised he probably completely destroyed his charger cable.

MARS
Location: Rotek Academy - Dorm One
With: Uzali ( Uniko Uniko )

Mars didn’t sleep, he powered down at night, it made him feel more human. He could dream (though some would argue), but preferred not to. Dreams were memories, memories were painful.

Uzali’s voice prompted his system to boot. Mars’ wrist rotated, basic calibrations were complete. A curious head tilted as Uzali spoke, “Affirmative, shall I perform a scan of the perimeter for possibly life forms Ms. Altovar?” Mars began to assess the platinum squad team leader. Heart rate increased by twenty percent.

With haste, he donned his armor. Immediately Mars was on high alert. “Incoming organic two point seven meters south.” The vile creature that had detonated the bomb, was now on the prowl.

Arlar was a bit of an odd entity the short 5-foot man hummed an alien tune as a swirling swarm of nanites formed into tools so they’d work on the communicator upon his desk, in-fact been working on the thing all night, Arlar always found sleep annoying he wished he could avoid it but you had to do it at least once a week. This peaceful work was interrupted by a verity of other entities communicating over electronic devices being a technopath had some downsides especially since he was patched into the communicator good news was, it was fixed. Apparently the needed to evacuate or something honestly Arlar was just a bit annoyed by the interruption and even more annoyed that he’d not noticed the stupid bombs. The swarm of nanites reattached themselves to Arlars body, walking out into the lounge area form the small corner of the dorm he used as a makeshift workshop, left them with an annoyed look on their face instead of the more normal shocked look no only was there some strange animal but TJ was knocked out looking as if the fool has decided to charge the monster blindly, that explained the screaming then. “Well, this is just great exactly what I wanted to do this morning.” Arlar would say bluntly, nanites swarming off his body once again forming tendril-like limbs tipped with a blade about four of them to be exact. “Seriously you lot need to be way more careful now then” Arlar would comment slowly approaching the creature that had been pinned down by Abel so far the android had proved joyously competent in their actions. Once within striking range the spiked limbs stabbing the creature repeated in hope that would put an end to its life.

[Dorm 1 ➜ going to classroom 105 | Frey | Mentions: Faene, Uzali, and Mars. Interactions: Torin Fanaa Fanaa ]
Frey startled awake when he heard the first boom. It had been muffled, and he had thought that it might have been from whatever dream he had been having. He waited for a couple of seconds, wrapped in his warm covers, to see if the explosion had been in reality or just from his mind. When there wasn’t another explosion that followed the first one immediately, he rolled over in his bed and covered his head with his sheets. He wasn’t really much of a morning person, and he disliked that his dream had forced him to wake up earlier than he wanted to.

He closed his eyes and ducked further under his covers, but then there was another explosion. His bed shifted ever so slightly under him, and he covered his ears when he heard the ringing in them. Damn. He sometimes hated his human body. And, double damn. It was not a dream. He waited for a few moments to see if his hearing would return, and then his ears popped and he winced. Ouch. He now could hear the cracking and breaking sounds, though, so that was a plus. Faene shouted at him to check in with Torin, and he turned in his bed just in time to watch her bark commands at her squadmates. He was glad he wasn’t part of her squad. He continued to watch as she equipped her rings, and when she finally left the room they shared, he decided to get out of bed. He needed to see if his other dorm mates were okay.

Quickly, he slipped on his armor, which he kept between his bed and the wall. He wasn’t really that big a fan of the metallic gold on it, he thought it was rather garish, but as soon as he had it on, his own team leader’s voice came from the communicator. Frey rolled his eyes when he stated the obvious, yes, it was pretty clear that they were under attack, and then Torin said to meet at the rendezvous location. “Aye aye, captain,” he spoke into his communicator, but then glanced out his window when a shadow darted over it. He saw an unfamiliar tail, dark in color, and then he heard some glass shatter somewhere in his dorm. That was probably bad news. He peered out of the window in his room to see what the alien was, to see if he recognized it, and he narrowed his eyes when he saw it looked like some weird sabre tooth tiger. Hm. Nope. He certainly did not recognize it.

He watched it, to see what it would do, and then it turned its head toward his direction. He took a step back from the window, moving toward the door, but then the shadow fell over the window again. It definitely wasn’t any alien that Frey knew, but he took in it’s bright yellow eyes and spikes on the back of its head. Observing, analyzing, figuring it out. It bared its fangs, and he could see the green gums around it’s massive fangs. He nodded once, because it was a pretty simple looking alien, then smiled and waved at the cat. “Pretty kitty,” he cooed, and its claws scraped against the glass. “I bet you can’t catch me,” he whispered, then he shifted into a fruit bat. He shook his new, tiny head, then he flew out of his room as the alien punched through the glass.

Uzali was leaving her own room, and he ducked behind some crumbling ceiling to avoid being hit. She looked okay, thankfully. He heard Mars say something, but the noise on the floor was too loud to register what exactly he had said. It didn’t really matter, because he knew they'd be able to take care of themselves, and because he really wasn't much of a fighter. They could probably handle the cat alien. And, besides, he needed to get to his own team leader. He deftly weaved between some more crumbling pieces, following the route that Torin had told them to take to get to their rendezvous location. He hoped that he wouldn’t get hit by any falling debris while in this bat form, because he figured that would hurt pretty badly.

There were other students rushing to get to the exits, but he spotted an open window and dove out of it. Once outside, he took off toward the classrooms. He’d have to go back to his human form when he got to the building, but he was much quicker as a bat, and he knew he’d be able to travel undetected in this form.

As if things couldn't be any worse, TJ possible had a serious wound and would need medical attention right away. Xio was relieved to see Abel and Arlar hold back this experimental creature. She set down her collection of glass shards that she had been hurling. Then, Abel ordered her to escape and find the help they needed for the paralyzed heep the was positioned against the wall. Xio nodded and slipped past a crack between the doorway and the creature that was pinned down.
Once outside in the hallway, she was flooded by students and staff rushing to the exit. Xio relentlessly pushed her way past the mass of bodies, but at the same time moved those that were falling behind forward, towards the exit, helping them evacuate as quickly as possible. She figured that it would be best if she reported to the rendezvous point to talk to Torin, the squad leader, about getting medical attention for TJ. Though, she also had to think about her own team. TJ was part of Onyx, not Gold. Though, Xio couldn't let herself, in good conscience, allow a peer to go down.
Xio took off down a set of stars, winding through now empty halls. She pivoted at classroom 105, and burst through the door, her hair stuck in all directions. She looked wild and in shock, but at the same time, at attention. Xio took a look around the room, noticing that she was the first to arrive. She decided to send a message to the Gold Squadron members.
She gasped, out of breath, "TJ...lounge area...hurt."
Xio took in some air before continuing, saying, "He needs help. Abel and Arlar are holding one of those 'things' back. What do we do?"

Mars deliriousmishaps deliriousmishaps
Uzali was considerably confused that her sibling was not answering the communications link that she had sent to him. Shaking her platinum white head, the alien closed the holo screen. She would try again in a few moments, right now she had to focus on getting to the research lab in time. Uzali power walked out of the dormitory and headed into the hall, and didn’t pause a single step when her squad mate Mars caught up behind her, fully suited and already conducting a perimeter scan. The android was definitely among her most reliable in the squad, she didn’t have to check twice when Mars was around.

“ Two point meters...south?” The alien princess was admittedly not the best with directions. She typically masked that fault by using the GPS system installed in her gear. “ Hmm...that is of no matter, we must first go to the research lab. We will meet with others and access the surveillance video systems.” The squad leader explained surprisingly clearly, a result of the english tutoring sessions with the human, Frey. They rounded the corner of the hall and Uzali proceeded to head directly for the elevator on the floor. She assumed it would still be in working condition as it appeared to be from the outside. The alien entered inside the mechanical box, waiting for the android to join her before she went ahead and pressed the main floor button. When nothing happened, she pressed it again. Still nothing.

The princess began to look visibly annoyed if the slight twitch in her left eye was any indication. She attempted to press the elevator button one more time, and yet again it yielded no results. She stepped back from the button panel and blinked over at the medical robot. “ Mars...I do believe something is quite wrong here, can you try-” Uzali’s sentence was cut short when the sound of something creaking and a thump came from above. Uzali lost her footing as the elevator tilted abruptly, and lost complete power.

XENOS
location: gym
with: Kemel Zerulu Zerulu

Medical data was easier to hack into than many would like to admit. Xenos had been searching for appropriate candidates for quite some time now. Frey wasn’t his first prey, he wouldn’t be the last, he was just the most difficult. Challenges made the experimentation process more enjoyable in his eyes. He would find the boy and collect an ample amount of blood samples. If he was lucky he’d sedate and dissect Frey, or perhaps just detain and dissect.

A being that could turn into anything. How fortunate extraterrestrials were, with their abilities, they could freeze rivers, even regenerate limbs. If he could find the right specimen and merge this finding with his current work, he’d be unstoppable. There would be sacrifices, he was aware of this, he knew he was sending his children to die, but they knew their purpose.

Fully aware of the loss of his latest creation who he had dubbed the name Marox, Xenos shook his head disappointedly, his breaths audible as ever as he strolled down the academy’s halls. Their death would not be in vain, in fact, he would exact his revenge immediately. As he entered the gym, a young and vibrant voice rang in damaged ears. Xenos emitted a low chuckle, as he made himself visible to the younger male. “Your time my boy?” His burly voice flowed through his mask.

Not giving Kemel much time to respond, Xenos launched a high-grade magnet at the wall, once activated it attracted that lovely machine gun Kemel had in his possession. He then commanded his faithful beast to pin the boy down by any means necessary. “I’m afraid it’s your time to sleep.” Lurching over the onyx squad member he injected a serum into his neck and watched as the blonde drifted off.

Predatory, gold orbs glowed in the darkness of the dormitory halls as the creature slinked it’s way around and through the building. It slashed and tore through any wires and cables that it saw; being that it was trained specifically for the purpose of destroying what it sees. The hybrid stopped in its tracks, nostrils flaring wildly as the beast sniffed the air, smelling their next prey immediately.

The alien hybrid beast cloaked itself, blending into the surroundings discreetly. It followed the voices it heard come from around the corner of the hall it was in and waited for the prey to show itself. This particular beast was a tracking type and it led solely on instinct and senses. Realizing that they had fled to the elevator, the beast made way to the elevator shaft. The beast snarled and readied its tail; whipping the powerful muscle back and forth before striking the cable line sending the unsuspecting pair falling to what it hoped to be, their death. Leaping to safety it began to pick up the scent of its next prey.

The feline hybrid beast that had attacked dorm two snarled madly up at the large robot that had knocked it down, snapping its wide jaws at him. Suddenly the beast let out an agonizing screech as it was attacked by multiple stabs to its flesh. This caused the hybrid to only struggle even more, as it managed to gain back some momentum from being tackled, and flipped over the android previously holding it down. Weird colored blood dripped from the various stab wounds littering its body and the creature set its sights on the small alien controlling the nanites.

With a ferocious roar, the hybrid leaped at the alien male with lightning-fast reflexes, taking the smaller life form down in an instant. Its deadly claws sank into Arlar’s shoulders, and you could hear a sickening crunch as the beast’s weight pressed down onto the alien. Just as the beast was preparing to reel back and sink it’s saliva dripping fangs into him; it suddenly lurched back, and fell onto its side with a loud thump. Upon closer look, you could see the beast's eyes no longer held life, signaling the creature's death.

"Xan"
Location: dorm 3 (alone)
Interaction: Uzali ( Uniko Uniko )
Mentions: Torin ( Fanaa Fanaa ), Kemel ( Zerulu Zerulu ), Bluu ( MokkaDrip MokkaDrip )

Xan was alone now. Facing off against a reptilian creature of pretty much his size with only a laser knife and what he had on his tool belt.
"Uzali! There big lizard in my room! He is hissing at me. But I hiss back, not worried," Xan spoke into his comms, brandishing his knife and snarling at the creature. Both were circling around the room in defensive stances. Xan wasn't much for combat. In fact he was pretty bad at it. But he hissed and snarled anyway, trying to make himself seem bigger and more threatening.

When his tail brushed his dresser, he got a quick idea. Kemel wasn't the only one with contraband. He slowly, without taking his eyes off the creature, opened the bottom drawer. He moved clothes around until he felt the ever so slight groove on the side, lifting the false bottom up and out, scattering clothes on the floor, but revealing Xan's stash. The drawer was full of food. From jerky to snack cakes. Chips and Oreos and candy and popcorn. He slowly stuck his hand in and pulled out the biggest bag of jerky. Xan loved jerky. He very carefully opened the bag and when he did, he saw the creature's ears ever so slightly perk up. It's nostrils flared as it sniffed and Can smiled just a little bit.

"You like the dried cow, yes?" he asked, pocketing his knife and carefully taking a piece out of the bag. The creature's eyes followed Xan's hand as he waved around the jerky piece. He was full on grinning now, about to laugh as the creature was obviously near drooling.

"Catch!" he giggled as he tossed the meat up and forward. He laughed outright as the beast darted forward and caught the snack in its mouth before slinking back and chewing on its prize. When it was done it turned back on Xan and let out a low warning growl. "More!"

Xan took a cautionary step forward, leaned close and dumped the whole bag on the floor. The reptile went ravenous for it all and Xan quickly jumped out of the way. He wasn't stupid. He knew now was the time to escape. Bluu, Torin, and Kemel had already left the dorm and were well on their ways to wherever they were supposed to go. But Xan was a little stupid and couldn't help cooing as he emptied out the whole drawer near the spined monster. It all would keep it busy for long enough. He then made his way out of the bedroom door and into the lounge, closing it behind him and dashing out the dorm room. He hadn't had time to put shoes on but his boots had been behind the creature and they weren't good enough friends yet for Xan to grab them. So he instead ran barefoot through the halls towards the stairs (elevators made him very nauseous) and down the many flights towards the lab in the basement.

Abel
Location: Dorm Two -> Random Classroom, with Arlar Huntertabbysandshark3 Huntertabbysandshark3 and TJ Fanaa Fanaa

When the android was pushed over, all he could do was stare as the beast dripped from it's wounds. He knew he should've used more force. But he was scared. Afraid of hurting it. Why, why, why? The question echoed in his head as he watched the beast lunge onto the small alien, about to attack them- about to kill them-

Before it collapsed. Abel, seemingly unfrozen by the thump of the beast's body, quickly scrambled up and looked over Arlar's body. Wounds on the alien's shoulders, and they were very limp. Not dead, thank lord. Abel didn't know if he could handle another dead by his hands. He hefted the alien's body over his shoulder, and slowly walked over to his roommate.

By now he'd noticed the ground was quivering, and he wasn't keen on dooming whatever poor souls could be beneath Dorm Two. Slowly scooping up TJ with one arm, he was now holding TJ half bridal-style and Arlar secured on his shoulder with his other arm.

He began power walking through the hallways that were (thankfully) mostly cleared out. After nudging a few bleary students to go faster, he quickly made his way down the stairway to the bottom floor. He knew that leaving his dorm mates in the room would basically spell out their death, if the floor was anything to go by. He knew about Mars, and was hoping to find the android. He also managed to record Fae's transmission, and was aware of the rendezvous point. But Faene would have to wait- Arlar and TJ required medical attention. Judging by the floor in the dorm room, Abel could guess the other groups were probably going to gather on the ground floor as well. If only he knew where they were gathering...

Suddenly, Abel remembered something. TJ is Uzali's brother. Meaning he had direct contact with the Platinum Squad leader. Ducking into a classroom, Abel set both of his dorm mates on some chairs. Quickly, Abel asked; "TJ, do you have contact with your sister?"

XENOS
Location: Gym
With: Faene Kassandra Kassandra

The young man sedated, his most loyal beast at his side, Xenos saw little else in between him and his ultimate goal, the shape-shifter. Mighty as they were, the Onyx Squad, like any other soldiers, depended heavily on their arms. And where there were arms, there was metal ripe for manipulation. The boorish instrument of death glued to his wall-mounted, high-powered magnet was only the beginning. Humans would be disarmed, aliens would be drained of what usefulness Xenos could steal from their bodies, and perhaps most deliciously, more robotic individuals would be instantly incapacitated and pinned to the wall for his creatures to dismantle, limb from limb, so that their "consciousnesses" could appreciate the carnage to their bodies in full.

What he couldn't have foreseen was the pathetic display by the second Onyx member to arrive to their rendezvous point. Foolhardy, clad in black, and instantly being flung across the gym by their hands, a young woman was the next to be subjected to Xenos's fury. He didn't know her name, but the fact that her wrists, of all things, were her downfall demanded further investigation. The doctor approached, breathing his haunting breaths to put the fear of death in the girl's fiery eyes, stepping as heavily as he could. It earned him a very amusing show of struggle, as the human seemed to fight against her own fingers. It seemed, in lieu of an actual weapon, this soldier depended on a set of unattractive jewelry for defense. How adorable.

Xenos left her to her struggle, and returned to the darkened closet in the gym to retrieve the compact explosive he'd planted before anyone's arrival. It was the size of a suitcase, but on the backing was a layer of inactive adhesive that could fuse to any material remotely. Including a student's armor. With a little flair, he returned and swung the bomb into his captive audience's abdomen and triggered the backing, making it stick to their stomach. No amount of strength could free her, even with her mobility restored. "Your final moments should be spent at peace," he counseled in between Faene's grunts. "Close your eyes, and allow yourself to fall."

The doctor escaped the gym, and after what felt like an eternity, the bomb strapped to Faene's stomach detonated, and with her went a third of the academy's structure.

MARS
Location: Rotek Academy - Elevator
With: Uzali ( Uniko Uniko )

Mars, concerned with the organic life form they was his squad leader followed her apprehensively. This (adorable) experiment, was closing in, Mars just didn’t have a visual on the cretin. “Yes, I believe recorded footage will provide insight Ms. Altovar, fantastic idea.” He could trust her. He could trust her. Mars trusted her as she led them into their coffin.

“There isn’t a power outage, perhaps we can run diagnostics.” His system issued an alert the creature eh was less than a meter away, but it wasn’t behind the shut elevator doors, no it was playing with their lives above. With no time to reactive. No time to devise an intricate, Platinum Squad grade plan.

As the cable snapped, cementing their fate, Mars knew that out of the two, only one of them had blood and bones, the other was wire and metal. He would have to do what was best for the mission, he welded his feet to the base of the elevator floor, turning to his fearless leader, a smile donned. “Leap into my arms Ms. Altovar and brace for impact, you will fracture approximately twenty-nine bones due to this plummet.” And like that he accepted his fate.

"BLUU"
Location:
Dorm Three --> Hallway (Heading toward Rendezvous Point via stairs)
Mentions: Torin, Kemel, Xan

Bluu had never been particularly fond of being caught unaware. In fact, within the academy (and certain other circles), the young female had managed to make quite the name for herself based entirely around the appearance of seemingly never being off balance. Ever. Sure, she knew the truth. Knew that keen reflexes, the ability to think fast, and not a little luck, had kept her barely a step ahead of peers and foes alike many times before but apparently tonight, or rather, this morning, her luck had run out.

BOOM!

Without warning the deafening noise sounded, breaking through the darkness and shattering a host of plaguing nightmares. Mere seconds later a disoriented Bluu all but slithered almost drunkenly from her nest of pillows and blankets devoid of any of the relief that should have accompanied such freedom. Had anyone tried to locate her form specifically among the mass of fabrics previously then they'd have likely failed but damn if that mattered now when the echoes of that wretched explosion wracked her lengthy frame intensely for several seconds after the initial concussion.

"Bloody ffffsss---", her speech devolved into a sub-human level of garbled hissing and growling as she called upon the sheer stubborn will that would get her legs under her, her eyes cycling through several hues of blue randomly as she blinked and tried her damnedest to filter out all the encroaching chaos. Thankfully, even with her body going slightly wonky other bits of information were still being processed rapidly. Chief among which was the muffled sound of her team leaders voice and a slight prickling along her scales.

"... -dezvous point, and wait for further instructions."

To this Bluu uttered not a word but instead began moving toward her own storage unit, reaching for the harness that held her knives. It wasn't hard to infer the part of the direction she'd missed. Following orders wasn't always her strongest suit--she miiight have had some control issues--but in this case being able to regroup was the best choice given her squad's abilities and their current lack of information. Bluu could hold her own in a fight with quite a few but there was a reason she'd never even considered the onyx squad.

With her weapons in hand, the serpentine female pivoted, her long legs already moving as she struck her wrists together lightly. The wide black cuffs she wore made only a slight muffled sound before her armor began to appear, sliding up over the compression set she wore as pajamas. Light in weight, it was more a simple uniform than true armor but even Bluu had to admit it had come in handy. Completing a set of (expensive!) favors had gotten her an upgrade so her suit was more easily accessible and not something she had to drag around or struggle into but it was far from fashionable if you asked her. Still, the material moved along her arms and legs to meet at her torso where it settled seamlessly despite the female already being in motion. Kemel, had he had time to notice, might have spotted a slight quirk of her lips at his parting comment--though whether he did or not was not truly of concern to her. Instead, her attention had yet again shifted, flaring to a higher level of alertness. Something at the edge of her focus pinged at something being behind her but rather than turn, thoughts of her team and their objective took front and center and urged her out of the door, her eyepatch settling into place. Later she would not be happy that she had missed the fact that one of her dormmates had not yet left--mistakes of this sort were never acceptable--but there was nothing to be done for it just then as she made her way toward the end of the hall and stairwell there, her pace quickening when she felt yet another tremor rock the academy.

TORIN

location: classroom 105
with: illegallyblonde illegallyblonde

Guilt just wasn’t a common feeling for him, Xan had been admitted to the academy for a reason he should be able to fend for himself. And Kemel (rest his beautiful soul) was a member of the onyx squad, why on earth would he stay behind to assist them. No, it was his job to worry about his own. Xiomara was a hundred-pound human and lacking fighting experience, Frey seemed easy to frighten and not the confrontational type, he was least concerned with Bluu, and rightfully so. Once he had reached the rendezvous point, Torin sent out a signal, that way whoever was within radius would know where he was.

He waited impatiently for the others to arrive, seconds went by, then minutes, then what felt like hours. When he caught sight of Xiomara he was extremely pleased, she actually listened. Gold star for her (haha get it). He didn’t need an extensive report to understand what happened, there was a man down, and Xiomara was sent to request assistance. Knowing that Xiomara probably wasn’t going to like what he was going to say next. “We’re going to wait here for Frey and Bluu, they’ll have to come up with their own solution.” What were they to do charge into the battlefield unknown?

“It’s my responsibility to keep my squad safe, it’s unfortunate what happened to your roommate, but we have priorities.” As he spoke the quaked violently. “Somethings not right, we’ll have to keep moving soon.”

TJ was saved, but not by 200 plus pounds of metal. No, a petite blonde was the first one to the scene. TJ instantly perked up, happy to no longer be smooching the floor. “I am to be thanking you!” She was so brave, she was probably going to die, but at least she’d die a warrior, a hero. “Your aim it is a bit on as they say?” He wasn’t sure if that was the correct saying, regardless, what Xiomara was doing was keeping the creature at bay.

When Abel arrived a sense of comfort washed over him, he watched in awe as Abel effortlessly held down the beast. “So cool! So cool!” He exclaimed. To top the hot fudge sundae off with a cherry, Arlar had come to the rescue, piercing the hybrids flesh several times. “I am thinking it is not alive.” It definitely looked dead, but apparently it wasn’t, in fact, it had enough energy left to cause harm to the poor little platinum squad member. TJ audibly gasped, genuinely concerned for his savior’s wellbeing. “Are you DEAD.” His eyes the size of dinner plates as he gave the smaller alien a once over.

When Abel scooped him to safety, he felt a wave of uselessness drown his thoughts. Though his arms and legs weren’t functioning his mouth certainly wasn’t affected. Tartimok was so caught up in recent events, he had forgotten to respond to his sister, he was glad that Abel was composed throughout this whole endeavor and mentioned her. Tilting his head to the side he spoke into the communication device. “Uzali I am living! My arms feel heavier than a snorlar, but I am okay. Please tell us where you are, we are needing your assistance.”

Being dropped on the floor by the sudden attack of the mutant beast thing, left Arlar will no time to react, the few bones he had in his mostly squishy body snapped under the monster's weight emitting an unearthly scream before he lost conscience rolling through this head were schematics lines and ports various electrical arches bounced around in the inky blackness. He'd not noticed the fact that he's been carried off, the small alien unable to even see his victory over the monster that now lay dead thanks to his aggressive actions. Arlar was roused from his sleep by the low humming of servo motors and the buzzing of his every loyal swarm, he attempted to get up only to find that his own spine was unwilling to work with him letting out an angry huff then laying back down "I do believe I've suffered spinal injuries no matter I'll be fine within a few hours" he'd inform the others bluntly.

Kemel was taken aback as he entered the gym, either Faene had taken up dress up or this was a complete stranger who was probably responsible for the explosions, following the more reasonable line of thought, he was most likely the bad guy. As Kemel raised his gun he wasn't given much time to actually pull the trigger as some sort of magnet had stripped it from his hands. The boy raised his hands instead to prepare for a fight, but he wasn't given much time there either as some sort of beast had pinned him down with so much strength not even Kemel could fight against it. The last thing Kemel heard was something about going to sleep, he struggled and resisted but all attempts were fruitless. His mind was rushing, the last things he had seen, Bluu quirking her lips at his quip before he left the dorm, Faene ordering them to get to the gym or harsh punishment would ensure, and of course, this sore sight of a thing, not even Kemel was sure if it was human or alien.

Just before the serum hit him, he tried to speak, "Wai-" just before he could even plead for his life the serum had hit his nervous system. Was this the end?

Abel gave Arlar an apologetic look. He felt bad for the alien, and more than guilty about his inaction. To think the small one had to go through such pain because of him-

He shook his head slightly, mostly to himself. No, no. He couldn't pull the self pity out now. What's done is done. The best course of action was to take responsibility and try to find help. He could anguish over it later.

Turning his body slightly, he pulled out the charger cable from his lower back. With a slight frown, he carefully put it down on the table- making sure to avoid touching the frayed wires that stuck out. He glanced at his unarmoured arm for a bit before looking back at the paralyzed pair. After a bit of contemplating, he decided against it. To go back and retrieve their armour for them was too risky.

He turned on his own comms, deciding to contact Faene and Kemel to explain the situation. As he turned it on, he spoke. "Fae, apologies for being late. TJ and Arl were injured and I had to find them medical attention." He braced himself for he inevitable telling-off, but was surprised to hear nothing. This can't be good. His voice began to rise in volume and in panic, continuing to talk into the comms hoping for someone, anyone to answer, please Fae, just answer-

Silence had never felt more terrifying.
