Having ample time available and being the goddess of youth, Hebe felt it was her calling to help young demigods learn their place in the Greek world, and skills that would assist them in the typical trials and tribulations of a demigod. It was initially nameless, and a small operation and home for those lucky enough to stumble upon it.

It would relocated rather often, eventually landing in America. As the camp began to rebuild on Long Island, New York, Chiron agreed to help Hebe run the camp. It'd grown beyond anything she'd imagined, let alone anything she could handle on her own. Chiron chose the name of the camp, due to his admiration of Odysseus and his own involvement in the Trojan war through Achilles (many campers have questioned why Chiron wouldn't pick the name of someone he mentored, but he always sticks by his choice). Most demigods only ever call it "camp" anyways.

Silenus later joined the two in running the camp, although heโ€™s often too drunk and is usually blurting nonsense. He isnโ€™t seen as often, as he is still Dionysusโ€™ tutor and has other duties. The only major contribution he had to camp was the introduction of satyrs, who swiftly adopted the role of guides and seeking out demigods and bringing them to camp. As a result, the population soared and Camp Odyssey solidified itself in the Greek mythological world as an official home for demigods.

It was around this time of exponential growth of the camp that Apollo gifted Hebe the empty shell of the Oracle of Delphi. It seemed like a good location to store the main giver of prophecies, considering majority of them involve demigods. However, the Oracle utters prophecies rather sparingly, some demigods leave camp without witnessing the Oracle speak.

[/div] [/div] [div class="content content02"] [div class=scroll] [div class=subtitle]culture[/div]
Overall, it's extremely laid back.

Camp Odyssey balances an impressive dichotomy โ€” despite there being organised activities and compulsory attendance for certain events, it never steps into the realm of too controlling or demanding.

Most campers knows each other at least by name, but it's near to impossible to know every demigod thoroughly. It's also highly unlikely any camper would not have a sibling, certainly not children of the Olympians.

Camp also places importance on philosophical thinking, holding debates occasionally, though to Hebe's and Chiron's collective disappointment a large portion of demigods don't take an interest in the activity. In their opinion, it's an aspect of Greek life โ€” eloquent thinking and speaking โ€” that is being lost.

There is also one leader of the infirmary, archery range, forge and arena. They organise and oversee activities in those areas, working closely with Chiron, and often have godly parentage related to it, though not always.

For the most part, Camp Odyssey doesn't interact much with the gods, but there is never complete silence between Olympus and camp. A donation of some food at each meal to a god of choice is the typical maximum of worship to the gods.

[div class=subtitle]cabins[/div]
The camp has cabins for each godly parent, one for Zeus, one for Poseidon etc. When claimed, demigods stay with their godly half-siblings. There are still honorary cabins for the virgin goddesses Artemis and Hestia, and one for Hera who being extremely dedicated to her marriage, does not have affairs with mortals.

Almost all minor gods have a cabin, though some minor gods are grouped together, as four cabins for the four directional wind gods would be a waste of resources, and likely lonely for the demigods.

They have a cabin leader, picked by the cabin and called a counsellor. The cabin also votes in a vice counsellor. The main counsellor is who attends meetings discussing issues the camp is facing with Hebe and her helpers. They're seniors at camp, and are treated as such.

Intended for training and sparring, but sometimes used for events.

[div class=subtitle]forges + armoury[/div]
Often where offspring of hephaestus can be found. The forges are free to use by anyone though, and the neighbouring armoury has a variety of weapons demigods can borrow, but for the most part not keep.

[div class=subtitle]dining pavilion[/div]
Open 24/7, and almost like an endless fridge with whatever you're looking for. Obviously, it is more active at meal times. Demigods should offer a portion of their meal to one of the gods. There are dedicated tables for each godly parent, though many don't follow that guideline.

[div class=subtitle]the lodge[/div]
The building in which all important meetings with camp leaders are held. And apparently, where Norse demigods are kept when you don't want Camp Odyssey to panic.

[div class=subtitle]infirmary[/div]
Loaded with supplies, the infirmary is where wounded demigods go to recover.

Founder of the camp and goddess of youth, Hebe is gleeful and positive, consistently offering assistance in whatever way she can.

[div class=subtitle]chiron[/div]
A centaur and son of kronos, chiron is an expert in training demigods and heroes. As such, he was glad to lead activities within camp.

[div class=subtitle]silenus[/div]
The tutor and companion of the wine god Dionysus, Silenus is a satyr with the features of a horse instead of a goatโ โ€”though not a centaur. [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div]

The Civil War era in Norway (lasting from roughly 1130 to 1240) coincided with a civil war between mythological Nordic species โ€” elves, giants and demigods โ€” which resulted in significant and unnecessary loss.

At the conclusion, Skadi, being both a jotunn (giant) and a goddess, chose to protect demigods in a camp, and hopefully breed a new generation of them who are more understanding of the diversity of the nine worlds, and stand to prevent Ragnarok, rather than nearly initiate it themselves.

Her aim was partially successful, though it wasn't until Wyrd Fjall began to evolve into a haven for young creatures of all kinds that it thrived. Giants, elves, dwarves were welcomed, with it acting as an almost inbetween home for them.

Wyrd Fjall migrated to the Kenai Mountains of Alaska, and as it was built from the ground up, both Freyja and Njord leapt at the chance to be involved. Njord organised a connection allowing demigods to swiftly travel from the highest mountain peaks where snow never melts and a warm place on the beach. Freyja offered Skadi assistance in the form of seidr (magic) education. There is one resident vรถlva (seeress, practitioner of seidr), who trains those capable of seidr and also delivers prophecies.

Odin took an interest in the growing camp and Wyrd Fjall was immediately viewed as the official home of demigods. He also established a program surrounding Valkyries, both to recruit new Valkyries from the camp's best female warriors and to have Valkyries-in-training guide demigods to the camp.

[/div] [/div] [div class="content content02"] [div class=scroll] [div class=subtitle]culture[/div]
Demigods are all likely to know each other by name, but be closest and most familiar with those who share a cabin with them โ€” whom are all treated like siblings, in contrast to only actual half siblings staying together in Camp Odyssey.

The demigod population is smaller among the Norse, partially because they more actively seek out prophecies and battles (the desire to reach Valhalla a major driver), though also due to the Norse gods simply having less offspring. The amount of demigod siblings ranges from four to eight on average.

There can be a bit of competition between female demigods when they're older, as only very few are chosen to become Valkyries in training. Generally, there is an air of competitiveness among all the campers to be the best warrior, including inter-species. This luckily breeds friendly rivalry and the understanding Skadi hoped for.

Wyrd Fjall has rather organised events and schedules for each day, such as the weekly visit to the home of Njord through the Bifrost Tunnel. Though it also includes set times that allow them to do whatever they please (which truthfully span most of the day). Everyone who attends is accustomed to respecting their elders and authority that they are loyal to.

Skadi's hope for organisation within events and activities is almost completely forgotten. Campers are wild and carefree and enjoy messing around.

[div class=subtitle]cabins[/div]
The regions are separated by species first and foremost. The elves, dwarves and giants in passing have their own places to stay, fitting for each species. There are a few permanent campers, who are the supervisors of their areas.

The largest area is for the demigods, which is then divided into three cabins โ€” one for children of the Aesir, Vanir and Jotunn respectively. They view a wider range of demigods as their 'siblings' due to being in the same cabin, and the numbers being smaller than Camp Odyssey.

The three demigod lodges have one leader for each, picked by Skadi.

[/div] [/div] [div class="content content03"] [div class=scroll] [div class=subtitle]Bifrost Tunnel[/div]
Not actually the Bifrost Bridge, but a tunnel tucked in one of the cliffs at the back of camp which utilises the teleporting powers of the Bifrost to link the coast with the mountains, to provide camp with diverse environments.

[div class=subtitle]Arena[/div]
Used to train. Once a week, a bloodbath is hosted there for an hour. A literal bloodbath โ€” as the power of Valhalla to revive its people at the end of the day is borrowed. Anyone who wishes to participate may enter and do so, but once they die, they are brought back and cannot re-enter. This is only possible in the short hour period.

[/div] [/div] [div class="content content04"] [div class=scroll] [div class=subtitle]Skadi[/div]
The giant and goddess of winter and hunting, Skadi is also the founder of Wyrd Fjall. She has continued to lead it, and is reluctant to hand off responsibilities to anyone else, as she's rather protective of what she has built.

[div class=subtitle]Njord[/div]
Vanir god of the sea, Njord, was shortly married to Skadi. Though, their differences were too drastic. However as a result, Njord believed more diverse training and environments were necessary for training the demigods. He leads weekly activities surrounding the sea and seafaring.

[div class=subtitle]Sigrid[/div]
The current vรถlva who teaches a few select students is named Sigrid. No one really knows how old she is, but everyone is rather aware that she almost daily mutters prophetic nonsense. Campers never really take what she says seriously. This is due to Sigrid's active choice to only share important prophecies with Skadi exclusively.

The death of a Greek demigod, who was frankly hated by everyone for their brutality, nonetheless instigated a full blown war. It was no longer small conflicts, but instead stalemates and calculated attacks resulting in stalemates and hundreds, perhaps even thousands of demigods dying. And countless nymphs, elves, dwarves, dryads and satyrs being injured and killed. And the conflict displayed no signs of ending.

Hera and Frigg were the ones to instigate change, forcing a deep schism into the pantheons that served to cause them to forget. The gods could no longer contact each other, and neither could the demigods, separated by thick layers of magic and trickery since 1918. All memories of their pasts together were erased.

Though, over the decades the barrier maintaining their division has thinned. And the gods noticed, but did nothing of it โ€” instead becoming quieter as the years have gone on.
