basic information:
name: 「ひとむ」Hitomu meaning "wisdom and beauty".
age: Four hundred twenty-four
position: Front Desk Manager
species: 「神虫」Shinchū
gender: Neither sex but uses male pronouns

appearance: Hitomu takes on the appearance of an anthropomorphic silk moth. His exoskeleton and fur don a red hue, not common among his species, while his hands and feet are a dark maroon. He has two pair of hands and a single pair of feet, and can be found using each pair of hands simultaneously though his is better with the upper pair. He stands at a measly four foot eleven and weighs a little less than one hundred and seventeen pound. On his back are two pairs of wings, spanning about 8 feet in diameter, that are strong enough to support his body in the air. Hitomu isn't sure whether he would consider himself cute, but the members of his family often complimented his fur color since it is rather unique for his clan. Art by Nymo from tumblr.

powers and abilities: Still being a rather young shinchū, he has not come to fully access all that he is capable of. Currently he only has three active abilities:
size manipulation: His species is relatively large in size, so to fit into smaller spaces they developed the ability to shrink themselves to varying degrees. The most that Hitomu can do is the size of a small human child, but other members of his clan have shown to shrink to the size of a mouse if necessary. Why this is, not even he is aware of.
silk production: Just as his appearance suggests, he is capable of producing strong silks from his mouth and his abdomen. His can control the adhesiveness of his silk, making it incredibly sticky or inviscid depending on what he using it for. He often time produces silk to fulfill his hobby of making clothes. Recently he has become interested in human clothing and has been replicating the very few garments that has made its way to him.
flight: Hitomu's wings are not just for show, he is capable of flight and is quite swift in the air.

persona:
personality: Hitomu, despite his age, has been coddled by his mother since he was a larvae which has severely affected his emotional growth. It is no secret that he is very uninformed of the world outside of the mountains except for the knowledge he's obtained from reading forbidden books. He is somewhat naive and very trusting to those who he consider his friends, regardless if he's aware of their intentions or not. Despite his tough exterior, he does not take well to lies and deceit and can be described as somewhat of a crybaby, but this has become slightly better since his employment at kajin-ya.

One of his most noticeable traits is his bubbly and energetic attitude which has made him well-known to returning customers of the inn who often bring him pieces of cloth as a tip. Hitomu is nice to everyone to a fault which can sometimes backfire as it makes him an easy to manipulate, and has sometimes gotten him and those around him in serious trouble. At times like these, he can go into bouts of depression which can be detrimental to his already fragile mental state. Despite his innocent nature, he is very intelligent, capable absorbing information after seeing or reading it, though his personality doesn't allow him to effectively put that knowledge to good use. Hitomu is essentially a cheerfully gullible ayakashi who still have troubles with being independent.

biography:
history: As far back as he could remember, Hitomu could never recall a moment when his mother wasn't around. From a larvae to an adolescent, his mother had always been there to care and to guide him, and he loved her for it. So when did that love start to feel so suffocating? Hitomu was born on a sacred mountain in the most eastern part of the human realm. He, his mother, and his fellow clansmen lived there with very little disturbance from the outside world. From what his mother said, there was a time they were worshiped as deities, the broken down shrine near the base of the mountain acting as evidence towards that statement. However, humans seemed to have stop coming after awhile for reasons unknown, but he was not really concerned with them for he only knew of their name which gave little to the imagination. His mother, Yoshi, was the current head of their clan and ruled with an iron fist, the only exception to this was Hitomu himself. Having lost her first three eggs, Hitomu was her fourth attempt and having a child, and after his birth she treated him as the most precious thing in her life.

Growing up, he rarely left his mother side and was often spoiled by her when it came to performing his duties as a shinchū. She'd never allowed him to descend the mountain to hunt alone nor did she allow him out of her sight for fear he'd disappear while she wasn't looking. The other members of their clan also treated him favorably for being the matriarch's son, but also for his unique coloration that was rare for his kind. Life proved fairly easy and without challenge as there was nothing he couldn't get if he wanted it, though he didn't know much of anything to truly ever want something. The only time his mother ever scolded him was when he attempted to read the forbidden text that was secured in a small room hidden in the middle of the mountain. Of course he was shocked, and even end up crying because of it, but his curiosity for the unknown led him to read them any way. In folded pieces of paper, he discovered a world outside of the mountain, pictures of small monkey-esque being bowing towards a unknown member of his clan. After this discovery, he became more interested in learning about these places and the humans in those books. However, his mother refused his request to leave, and that had been the end of that short-lived dream.

Hitomu understood why his mother acted the way that she did, but at the same time he wanted to do things for himself though he never told her about this. So it came to him a surprise when a few years later she wordered him to get a job at an inn made for Ayakashi. Per usual, he had assumed she would be accompanying him, but she had made it clear that this would be a journey for him to take on his own. With nothing else to say, she sent him to Kajin-ya where he managed to get a position as the front desk manager and has been working there for a couple of months.

other:
why do you want to work at kajin-ya? His mother, knowing she has been very protective of him all his life, sent him to work here as a means of helping him grow. It's was a hard decision to make, but she knew he needed to rely on someone outside of herself and gain a better understanding of the world without her.

would you ever eat a human? No, though he would like to try human cuisine at some point. His diet mostly consist of malicious spirits that can be found skulking about at the bottom of the sacred mountain, though he is unaware of the food policy at kajin-ya so he tries not to go out searching for them. With this in mind, his body can sustain itself on leaves and vegetables, his favorite being the leaves off a mulberry tree.

other:
- Hitomu is still an adolescent shinchū, so his sex will remain undetermined until he becomes a full-fledged adult. His mother raised him as male just for convenience sake. He has one stage left in his metamorphosis which would grant him a more humanoid body though the process is long and how one reaches this stage differs from each shinchū.

- His current appearance is not his original form, simply a consequence of him shrinking. Shinchūs look like giant monstrous moths with rows of razor sharp teeth in their mandibles. However, they are still considered to be holy yokai to many who worship them.

The Prospects

Name: Flos Cordis
Nickname: Flo, Bok Choy, Lettuce (to the untrained eye)
Species: Plant Nymph
Age: Appears 17
D.O.B: April 21st
Height: 149cm || 68cm in original form from top of the leaf to her toes
Weight: 56kg || 22kg in original form
Sexuality: Pansexual

How long you have been living here: three years

Personality:
Flo is a laid-back individual that tends to find joy by doing very little. In other words, she is extremely lazy, only ever willing to do things that she finds enjoyable or amusing. This often times leads to her being called selfish, but she doesn't categorize herself in human terminology so she ignores most insults that pin her to being as such. When she's not completely immobile, she can be a relatively chill person to talk to, willing to give her advice on the matter if called for. Though, some of her advice can be very helpful while others are radical and should never be taken seriously let they want to find themselves trouble or injured.

She has a long track record of humans she's given advice to that have both succeeded and failed miserably. Flo is what she likes to call a realist, some call her pessimistic for her views especially how she tends to give up on things easily without trying. However, the nymph knows her capabilities and limits, and refuses to put forth the time and effort into doing something she knows she'll never accomplish. She is also a very good liar, choosing to lie her way out of things she finds troublesome, it's a nymph natural talent to fool other creatures with their words so it flows off her tongue as fur from a mutt. Overall, she a lazy go-with-the-flow kind of monster who's a realist at heart but is willing to lie as soon as things get messy.

Likes:
- coffee
- gardening
- cheap liquor
- cooking
- water
- meats
- high grade soil
- personal space
- causing the occasional mischief
- the crescent moon (looks like a human toenail)
Dislikes:
- insects
- rabbits (are delicious when cooked)
- optimists
- pessimists
- large flames
- loud noises
- intrusive people
- owls (they always looked pissed)
- children

Can't you see I'm busy?

  • Talent(s):
    - Good at gardening. Flo is an expert when it comes to gardening, being able to talk to the plants lets her know all their wants and needs. However, because of this she has somewhat of a superiority complex when it comes to taking care of the garden. Some of the plants even refer to her as her majesty.
    - Above average memory
    - Lying. Flo is great at it, almost as if it is second nature to her. She can easily fool most people she comes into contact with.
    - Extremely good at filleting rabbits, and only rabbits for some strange reason.
    - Paper-rock-scissors, she's never lost a game before.
    - Cooking, she likes to cook on occasions. Not an expert, but she can make a decent meal or two.
    Abilities:
    - Flo can communicate with plants and vegetables as long as they are still alive.
    - Plant manipulation. As the name suggests, she can manipulate plants to a certain extent by asking for their help. Some are willing to help her without question while others require a favor in return for their services. Often time, she finds herself arguing with the scrooges that beg her favors. It gets quite annoying.
    - Body transfer. She can transfer her essence into any vegetable, promptly taking its form and using it as her physical body. This takes awhile to perform though, and takes about two months before she regains the ability to do so again.
    - Body transformation. It's an ability all Nymphs have to change their body into their victims preferred form. Although she has a little more control over the form she takes.

into the lion's den;
high concept;; responsibility
character alignment;; lawful neutral
personality;;
Jeanne is a hardworking young woman with a free spirit. She takes heavily after her mother as she believes that handwork and perseverance is what distinguishes a man from an animal. People can't get anywhere in life if they don't work for it. Having this ideology, she is extremely dedicated to doing a job with one-hundred percent the effort. She is rather generous when it comes to helping people who try to help themselves and does not believe in giving or receiving handouts. Sometimes, helping strangers has gotten her into quite the predicaments, but she'd never regretted anything she's done. She does have a tendency to get lost in the heat of the moment, becoming fully engrossed in what she doing and forgetting her surroundings.

Jeanne can also be describe as very blunt in her phrasing of things and holds nothing back when speaking her mind. Her mouth gets her into a lot of trouble, it has been the cause of her being fired on multiple occasions. One of the many other trait she received from her hot headed mother. She can be quite hard headed sometimes, opting to do what she wants opposed to what others want her to do, even if it isn't relating to her. Her biggest problem is thinking that she always knows what's best for someone else even when the other party disagrees with her.

Jeanne speaks in a Kingsbury dialect normally, but when really angered or completely too comfortable she unconsciously returns back to her ways of speaking with her family which if riddled with abbreviated words and a country accent. She finds it embarrassing so she tries to keep herself in line with speaking with others.

biography;;
Jeanne was born into a middle-class family of textile workers. Her mother was a large heavily built woman in charge of managing the rundown textile mill on the outskirts of Kingsbury where the DuBois took residence. While her mother managed the mill, her father was in charge of distribution and banking, selling their goods to tourists interested in a new wardrobe and their colleagues, and young merchants, who sold the textile in far off lands. The two were a powerhouse couple, with her mother holding down the social stability of the family and her father making sure to keep the bills paid. Besides them, there lived both of her aunts from her mothers side along with their families, her father's twin brother and his family, and his mother. All in all, they were a large family that rarely hired outside help preferring to keep it a family ran business.

Jeanne loved her parents, hoping to one day obtain her mother's strong will and fierce attitude while gaining her father quick-wittedness and business sense. She lived a simple life in the DuBois household under the Dubois family code. "The lazy don't get fed," was the number one rule to follow. If she wanted anything in that house then a price had to be paid for it. There was no such thing getting something for free, there was always work to be done and if she only put half the effort in then she'd only receive half of the pay. Jeanne was taught since birth that she could achieve anything with a little elbow grease and some good ol' fashion dedication, and that's exactly what she did. Jeanne worked in the textile mill, helped with the cooking and cleaning when she could, and watched her cousins when the adults were busy. Due to this, she was forced to mature at a young age, becoming a little adult herself.

Time passed and she grew into a young woman with her own goals and aspirations. It was already a known fact that DuBois stuck together, but Jeanne wanted to see more of the world then a cloths on racks. She wanted to travel, see things that would shock her, entertain her, make her piss her pants even. Her father was understanding of her situation, but her mother, so engrossed in family tradition, would be having none of it. She was a DuBois and DuBois were textile workers, not travelers. The traveling was to be done by the wayward merchants, her mother would tell her. This created a bridge between the two, her mother close mindedness infuriated her. Her father tried to have the two reconcile with one another, but the damage was already done. Jeanne had made up her mind to leave with or without her mother's permission. With that, she packed her belongings and left to the big city of Kingsbury. There she worked a few odd jobs at bars and taverns before landing it big as a train hostess for a newly built train that ran through four major cities. The young woman made a life for herself, traveling on the train and seeing things larger than herself.

physique;
appearance;; Standing about five feet and four inches tall, Jeanne is a woman with a strong features. She has wide hips that give her a nice pear shape. She has a soft jaw line with a oval shaped face and olive tanned skin, her face decorated with a few light freckles on the bridge of nose. Long black hair that fall to her waist is normally tied in a bun on the back of head. She has dark black eyes much similar to her hair with a single move on the corner of her left eye.
weapons;; an umbrella | six barrel revolver
items;; leather messenger bag | notebook & pen | money | pocket watch | silver locket

additional;
hobbies;;
- reading
- traveling
- writing down random notes in her notebook
- history
- knitting
- gardening

Gamer Tag Info

Name: Akrita
Nickname: Mothy, Mothman04 (Gamer Tag)
Species: Mothman
Age: Eighteen
D.O.B: August 15th
Height: 157.56cm
Weight: 45kg
Sexuality: Bisexual

How long you have been living here: one year

Personality:
Akrita is a cheerful young woman overflowing with positive energy. Rarely does she allow anything to ruin her mood, always choosing to look on the brighter side of things. In short, she's an optimist who does her best to cheer up others around her, even when she's not wanted. A natural born pacifist, she dislikes conflict and confrontation, doing her best to avoid it at all cost. This sentiment also extends to her friends and family as she does her best to stop arguments before they happen or act as mediator for heated situations. Though she is willing to scold others if she believes them to be in the wrong. Akrita is also seen as a people pleaser, trying to make sure everyone is comfortable and content in her presence preferring to do all the cooking and cleaning so others have time to do things they really enjoy.

While at the house, she likes to treat everyone equally and loves them all as if they were her actual family, despite only living there for a short period of time. She can be a bit intrusive, having no concept of personal space, but she means no harm by it. Another thing to note is that Akrita, unlike most of her family members, does not hate humans. In fact, she finds them to be a lovable species and often expresses sentiments about becoming one. She doesn't have any particular issues with being her species, but sometimes she finds herself wanting to spend more time with them which is nearly impossible to do in her current form.

Although she appears to be in a constant state of happiness, she has a hard time dealing with her other emotions. Because of that, she tends to shove them down, allowing them to pile up inside her while hiding behind her overpowering optimism. She knows this isn't healthy yet, she refuses to acknowledge them and keeps them hidden which has made her sick on quite a few occasion, and has sparked numerous panic attacks that she hides from everyone in the manor. She feels obligated to keep smiling through everything, that if she keeps smiling then everything will be better somehow. Even is no one else does, she'll keep smiling. This flawed logic of hers tends to wear heavily on her mind and body, but she'll never admit to it. Her problems are her own, and chooses not to rely on other's to solve them. In that sense, she a little hypocritical, as she expects everyone to open up to her while keeping to herself.

    - Clothes making. Akrita is great when it comes to making clothing or other things that can be made from her silk.
    - Singing. She loves to sing although she tends to do it out in the forest where she won't bother the others living with others.
    - Cooking. Although Flo likes to do the cooking occasionally, Akrita really takes over as the head of the kitchen.
    - Playing the Lyre. Another secret she keeps to herself as she doesn't want to disturb those living in the manor.
    - Gaming. Despite her personality, Akrita is exceptionally good at video games, especially online first-person shooters. She looks at gaming as an opportunity to communicate with humans without having to interact with them physically so she honed her skills as a player so she could talk with other people online. She is somewhat sad that the manor doesn't have any of the latest consoles, so she hasn't be able to play since she started living with there.
    Abilities:
    - Silk Production. Being a silk moth she is capable of creating silk and spewing it from her mouth.
    - Moth Physiology. Whatever a moth can do she can do so as well.
    - Flight. She has a two pairs of wings that she uses to fly.
    - Enhanced Smell. She is capable of smelling things from long distances, but because of this, her nose has become quite sensitive to pungent odors.

    - Slightly Enhanced Strength
