The Tetove tattoo their skin, every area having its assigned place to mark. Every tattoo carries a meaning telling the story of their hardships, triumphs, their years on the planet, origins, and so forth.
To carry ink beneath the surface of your skin is honorable. It’s necessary to be a part of the people. Even from birth, babies are marked with a perfect circle dot on their wrist to commemorate the first year of their life.
To tattoo your face is taboo. To go without tattooing a major life event and sealing on your body is taboo. But none of this is as taboo as being a Voider.
Voiders are blank. Empty. Nothing marks their skin. Not a drop of ink blemishes their flesh. They can’t be read. They can’t be understood. They’re ghosts. The absence of humanity. And to see one is promise of bad things to come. The Tetove people tell horror stories of Voider people, the mere mention of empty skin causing children to shutter and recoil. There is no redemption for these rogues in their minds. To even speak with a Voider is worthy of murder.
It’s unknown where they come from. For decades, Tetove assumed they had died out. Recent unconfirmed sightings, however, have paralyzed the townsfolk with fear of what could be.

On days where the fog sheaths the air in its opaque mists, the Tetove are uneasy. Galmao has the tendency to develop thick hazing mist that has always been associated with the Voiders. On these days, Voiders often take advantage of the low visibility, venturing into town for various reasons. Perhaps to steal food. Perhaps to steal valuables. Perhaps to kill. Perhaps even to prey upon the fear. Regardless of their reasons, it’s become more and more frequent. And the Tetove are apprehensive of what’s to come.
The townsfolk enjoy their jovial lifestyle, taking favor upon farming, social gatherings, cooking, horseback riding, archery, and other lively activities. They have electricity, but only use it for essentials such as lighting, tattoo guns, photography, and so on. Their means of transportation are general by carriage, horseback, or foot.
The right arm is reserved for your age. It begins at the wrist with a single dot. Every year after that is another dot added. The left arm is reserved for your achievements and failures. The back is reserved for lineage. The chest is reserved for loved ones. The torso is reserved for nothing, but instead freedom of choice. - Genesing:
- A Genesing is the equivilent of a leader over the people. A sort of mayor that cares for the townsfolk, deciding upon certain rules and regulations. They wear specific attire designed to show off their tattoos. Any Genesings wear the mark of a pheonix on their body.
- Tetove Townfolk:
- They are, of course, the heartbeat of the Galmao. The townfolk make things run. They enjoy festivals, banquets, balls, and other events. They keep Galmao on its feet. It's an extraordinarily honorable position to be a Tetove Imprinter, or the person behind tattooing.
