Born and raised here in Skyline City, Ezra Marten is just as connected to the community as anyone else could be. The youngest of his family, with four brothers before him, healthy competition was encouraged in his household. Ezra's brothers all excelled in their own rights; ranging between musical talents, athletic skills and traits that could lead to being future leaders. Ezra, however, found his passion in science — specifically in bioscience. The Marten household was privileged to say the least; Each brother, besides Ezra, was able to graduate as valedictorian in their year level and went on to pursue with their passion. Despite failing to receive the same title as his older brothers, Ezra only continued to succeed in life.

After graduating university with a double degree in biomedical science and business, Marten went on to start his own journey in Wall Street as a financial advisor. Commended for his work and ingenuity at such a young age, he only climbed through promotions until he started his own investment banking company: Marten Firms, in 2009. As the company grew, so did the opportunities for Marten's passion for bioscience to bloom as well. Alongside his investment company, Marten bought out a small time biomedical company and rebranded it as Marten BioNova only five years later. With the engagement and perfectionism from Marten, Marten BioNova has produced an extensive range of medical products and equipment used in most American top-class hospitals today. Marten quickly earned the title of 'self-made' billionaire in net worth by the end of 2017.

Over the recent years and exposure of strange abilities occurring in humans, Marten has made it his latest conquest to into the potential. In 2020, Marten has partnered with Skyline's local government to help reduce the amount of 'supered' crime in the city with his own task force. Funded by the government, the task force has been specially selected by Marten himself, and will be overseen by him, alongside a team of experts, to analyse a solution to his home city's major problem. Marten has openly expressed his interest in supered beings within interviews, noting in Forbes 2012 issue: 'Truthfully, there is so much opportunity that could be uncovered from their altered genetics, I'm surprised no one has done it yet.' Marten will be the first to create a task force that isn't military-based, but rather, as he stated in another interview, 'Similar to the comics I read as a kid, but with much more advanced, and slightly more realistic, technology to help.'
