On the 27th day of September in 2019, all over the world, a handful of people died.
Some, due to accidents. Some, because they were murdered. Whatever the cause, on September 27th, their lives ended.
But their new lives were just beginning.
You see, these people were being watched, and when they died, some were selected for a higher purpose. They were given a second chance at life, but only if they agreed to one minor change, of course. They would be reincarnations.
Of whom, you may ask? Or of what?
Well, Greek Gods and Goddesses, of course.
People thought they were long gone, while some never even believed they existed, but they were always there, lurking in a shadowed veil not visible to the mortal eye. With the loss of faith from humans, their physical bodies faded, but Gods never truly die. They just needed new bodies.
And like the gods, all the monsters are looking to come back too. Unfortunately, it's easier for humans to believe in the bad, and the scary, rather than believe in the presence of primordial Greek Deities, which means that they're already wreaking havoc on the human world.
The gods have decided that they've remained hidden for too long. They need to make a return, but not without appropriate hosts. With whatever divine magic they have left, they resurrect a select few that have passed on, to be like a vessel. However, this is not something that stays permanent, nor is it a full proof plan because despite being vessels for the gods, these people are still themselves.
Think of it as two minds sharing a body, except the person resurrected still controls most of their actions. The Gods, being Gods of course, contribute their strength and divine power in times of need. All these chosen people need to do is live life for a few years with a god in their head.
Oh, yeah, and everyone else believes that they're dead.
Well, this will be fun, right?

For example, Zeus will likely go after someone strong, powerful, and popular. Aprhodite might go after someone with a charmer who knows how to use their looks and words to get what they want. The Gods have to feel like they can relate to your character, otherwise it'll be a recipe for disaster. Ares is not going to choose some cute little cuddly person who hates violence because Ares loves violence. Please keep this in mind during character creation.
Our characters will also, of course, get powers. Well, one power, relating to their bound God/Goddess, and this power must be something that the God/Goddess could originally control, since they are the ones giving the people that power. I repeat, one power, which will have a lot of capabilities as well as limitations.
There is no rule saying that the chosen host has to be the same gender as the respective God/Goddess. With that in mind, please note that two characters per user is preferred, but not required (mainly just in case we need to even genders out). I will be keeping an eye on genders, however, so if it starts to become too much of one, I will have to start rejecting characters, or no longer accept sheets for a specific gender till things are close to balanced out. Our characters will also all be in their twenties, so keep that in mind when choosing your face claim.

what do i do?

First up, this is a semi-advanced roleplay, meaning I require at least two-three paragraphs worth of writing per character. Posting speed requirements are a minimum of once a week.

All RPN rules apply. Please do not discriminate and keep all the drama to the actual roleplay. Breaking any rule stated here will result in a warning first, and a repeat offence will result in the user being kicked from the roleplay as well as being reported.

I want to give everyone a chance to play a character no matter what, so there will be reserved roles. However, if you do not respond to anyone or show no sign of your character being prepared within three days of reserving the role, I reserve the right to give it to someone else who wants it.
