- rules
FIRST—
Follow all of RPN’s listed rules. Treat others in this roleplay well in order to create a comfortable, creative, and fun environment for everyone.
SECOND —
Placement in this roleplay will not be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. I’ll be judging each of the characters on their quality and depth, and their owners on their writing quality. If you are a new member to this website, I may request a writing sample from you.
THIRD —
Please only apply with one character that corresponds to one District. I will not be accepting more than one character per District, as stated in the guidelines for this Quarter Quell. More notes on character creation can be found in the next tab.
FOURTH —
This is going to be a strictly advanced roleplay, where good grammar, correct spelling, and tantalizing writing is an expectation. You should be able to comfortably write 500-800 words per post, at the very minimum.
FIFTH —
Be prepared to chat on Discord. I find it’s a very helpful platform to have quick discussions about characters, plotting, and it’s a low pressure environment where we can all chat with each other. I will make a server for all the accepted members of this roleplay once I have determined who’s going to be in it.
I also want to mention that applicants at or above sixteen years of age are welcome to apply. Themes consistent throughout this roleplay will generally be violent and dark. Please keep your own personal needs in mind as you consider whether or not this is the group for you.

THINGS TO CONSIDER —
I am going to be very straightforward with my expectations and thoughts for the sake of honesty and transparency. The maximum amount of people I will accept to this roleplay is twelve, including myself, meaning there are eleven available Districts to choose from. However, if I see only one application for a particular District and I feel the writer isn’t a good fit for whatever reason, I simply won’t accept them and we will do without it.This is an application that I alone will be considering: I want to see compelling, unique, thoughtfully crafted characters. Spots are not going to be claimed on a first come, first serve basis. Please only apply with one character from one District - the possibility of roleplaying multiple characters or important NPC’s can be discussed once the final cast is chosen. Each District was tasked with choosing their tribute for this special edition of the Hunger Games. As you create your character, consider why they were picked. is this youth a genuine hero who was chosen to win and earn glory for themselves and their District? Or are they a troublemaking heathen, or a criminal, whose punishment will take place in the Arena? That is up to you to decide. As far as diversity is concerned, the world we all share is not at all homogenous. Diversity of ethnic backgrounds, cultures, sexuality, and gender identity would be much appreciated and more reflective of the reality of this world. If you do choose to create a character with a racial or ethnic background different than your own, please do so in a respectful, affirming way: avoid relying on cliches and stereotypes to craft your persona. This is especially applicable to minority and marginalized identities. Please contact me with any questions or concerns you have, but also know that I am not here to walk you through the application process: it's simply not fair to ask me to advise or double check any applications in progress.

district 1
OPEN.
Widely considered to be the wealthiest District in Panem, they are primarily concerned with the finest things in life. Their unique industry is the manufacturing of luxury items—everything from fine leather clothing to jewelry dripping with diamonds, and absolutely everything in between. The only limit to their skill is your imagination. It is located roughly in the Pacific Northwest of Panem, just above the Capitol.
district 2
OPEN.
Another incredibly wealthy District. Their unique industry is technically masonry: sprawling stone quarries and hardened minors and masonry workers fuel the lifeblood of this land that straddles the Rocky Mountains. They have displayed an undying loyalty to the Capitol, so they are also permitted to manufacture weapons, regulate national transportation, and train Peacekeepers, Panem’s law enforcement personnel.
district 3
OPEN.
Has the illusion of being another relatively wealthy District. Whatever their actual living conditions may be, its inhabitants provide an invaluable service to the rest of Panem: they are responsible for developing and manufacturing all of the nation's technology. Its unique industry deals primarily with electrical and mechanical engineering, and they ensure that all electronics produced work properly. Many famous inventors and innovators call this District home.
district 4
OPEN.
Another very wealthy District. Located on the beautiful, sunny, and temperate West Coast of Panem, its unique industry is completely reliant on the ocean. Its inhabitants supply the rest of Panem with all kinds of seafood products—all the tastiest, priciest, and most indulgent dinnertime you can think of, from tuna, caviar, and swordfish to crab and lobster.
district 5
OPEN.
A somewhat wealthy District. Although their unique industry may not be as eye-catching as some of the others, it is absolutely vital to maintaining life as we know it in Panem. They deal with power from all sources (solar, nuclear, wind) and electricity to fuel day-to-day life. Without their efforts, the nation's power grid would completely fall apart.
district 6
OPEN.
Another one of somewhat comfortable Districts. Again, their unique industry may not be the most desirable or interesting, but what would Panem be without its hovercrafts, high-speed passenger trains, or cargo ships? Their citizens oversee the production and export of all products related to transportation, for both people and items.
district 7
CLOSED.
Located in the large, lush, heavily wooded Pacific Northwest Region of Panem, this District's unique industry is just what one might guess it is: lumber. These exceptionally hardy people are more often than not loggers and carpenters, and they provide the rest of the nation with essential wood and paper products. They don't seem to be exceptionally well-off or poor.
district 8
OPEN.
A somewhat poor laborer District in the Southeast of Panem. Its unique industry is the production and export of all of Panem's textile products: they take great pride in producing both beautiful and durable clothing for all kinds of purposes. Many of its inhabitants work in factories, though some of the more skilled artisans work more from home.
district 9
OPEN.
Another somewhat poor District, located in the flat, expansive Great Plains region of Panem. Its unique, although somewhat lackluster, industry is the production of grain and various grain products. If its inhabitants aren't farmers themselves, they're either involved in the processing or grain or bakers. Their labor is vital to the well-being of the nation.
district 10
OPEN.
A relatively poor District. Its unique industry is the production, processing, and export of all animal products. Most of its inhabitants are involved with rearing and tending to livestock, butchering and packaging meat, and creating milk and egg products. It is located in the Southwestern region of Panem and spans a great area of land to accommodate all the animals.
district 11
OPEN.
One of the few Districts where its inhabitants live in near abject poverty. Its industry is agriculture and the export of agricultural products—every fruit and vegetable one can imagine, jams, preserves, and spreads, with new and exotic genetically modified variants being invented and introduced to the soil every day. It is located in the Midwestern region of Panem.
district 12
OPEN.
One of the few Districts where the majority of its residents live in abject poverty. It is responsible for providing coal to the rest of Panem, and although the work is dangerous and thankless, it is absolutely vital to maintaining life as we know it. It occupies a relatively small space in the Appalachian region of the Panem, located in the Northeast.
