✦ Born and raised in Stuttgart, Germany, Anna was the fourth born in a group of eight children, to parents Luciana and Solaris. She was the first girl after a line of three boys. Anna was often the subject of plenty of teasings, being the first girl in the streak of boys. Though otherwise, they were a closely-knit family. When she was 12 however, tragedy came upon the family when the eldest brother, Alaric, was killed;It was a stormy night when a robber had broken into the large family’s home, and as their father was getting water the robber had a gun pointed to his head. That was when Alaric leaped in and forced the gun out of the robber’s hands, starting a destructive brawl between the two. Anna, desperate and afraid, reached for the gun and aimed for the robber, but at the last minute Alaric shifted in the way. This allowed the robber a perfect escape, while the young girl took a moment to process what she had done. He was shot between his ribs, and died. For the next two years, Anna was placed through multiple therapy methods - But not one could erase the guilt. Though that was how she discovered her enjoyment for psychology.

✦ The family then chose to move out of Germany, and to New York (specifically, Greenwich Village) - For a change of scenery (albeit, a dramatic one), as well as to get Anna to stop visiting places she would used to visit with Alaric. In high school, with some difficulty, Anna managed to adapt to the sudden change in culture and language. Though under her father's order, she took mainly AP classes and extra classes to get her on the track to graduating early. Eventually, she met and dated Tim Foley, who she later married when she turned 18, a year after her early high school graduation - Which led to a two pregnancies: one resulting in a miscarriage, and another successful one, resulting in her daughter Mina. Despite going to college for child psychology, she kept Mina under her care, while her husband would work to support them. Though the happy picture of their family was broken when Anna returned home to find her daughter unattended to, and her husband in bed with another woman. This resulted in a divorce where Anna kept custody over her daughter, much to her relief. Eventually, she would find a small, white-haired child on the sidewalk. She took the child into her home, and gave him food and warm clothes, before eventually (with his permission), she would have the court's permission to adopt him as her own, and name him Chander Helsing. The family of three would then proceed to move to a duplex apartment in Brooklyn, not only to be closer to her sister Diana, but to get away from her old home she once shared with her ex-husband,

✦ Anna isn't the most cheerful person one would ever see, and in fact she looks more dazed or thoughtful rather than warm and welcoming. Though, when she's around her children (or children in general), she is the total opposite. She is incredibly loving and affectionate, and practically cannot stop smiling when they're near her. She is too empathetic for her own good, despite the front she puts up, and actually feels pain from just hearing of another person's woes. Though she obviously doesn't cry openly, especially considering her career as a Child Therapist. When she's with strangers, she can come off as reclusive from the person she's speaking with, as though she's hiding something (which, obviously, she is). Though once she's comfortable with someone, she's far more open and playful. She's very paranoid about the safety of her children, and will very willingly throw herself in front of a train to save their lives. Despite her less enthusiastic demeanor in the public eye, she is quite polite once you go up to her and meet her. She usually isn't rude, unless she felt someone deserved it. Anna refuses to let her intelligence go to waste, either, and is more than likely to shoot some sass in one's way if they push her far enough. Due to her being the cause and witness of her elder brother's death, she suffers from PTSD. She is prone to depression, and usually has flashbacks when she hears any noise that she can correlate with the sound of a gunshot. She is especially prone to nightmares, though nowadays they aren't as frequent as they used to be. Being a psychologist, Anna knows to take the right medication form her previous therapists, and takes them at the right time- She rarely trifles with her medication, and understands the consequences of her actions if she does otherwise.

Anna is in shape, with long, golden blonde hair that is naturally wavy and styled with her bangs parting to the right side of her face. She has dark blue eyes that are framed with long lashes. She stands at 5'8" with a fairly fit body due to her working out. She has faint stretchmarks over her abdomen, obviously from her pregnancy with Mina, though they're lighter due to her treating them with castor oil. At first she was intent on getting rid of her stretch marks, before she decided to keep some hint of them- As a reminder of her journey to motherhood.

♣ Mina was born to her parents, Annaleisa Helsing and Tim Foley. The most she knows of her parents lives before her was that they dated all throughout high school and decided to 'plant' her (Anna is still yet to tell her where babies actually come from) during their honeymoon in Chetek, Wisconsin. She also knows that she was supposed to have a baby brother, but the angels took him away before his seed sprouted. She can recall her earlier childhood being filled with her mother taking care of her most of the times, and that when she went to school, her father and his 'friend' would play with her. Mina never liked her father's friend, mostly because she tried to get Mina to call her 'mommy', when she knew who her real mother was. Though her father always asked Mina to not tell her mother about this, and the conflicted four year old agreed. She can vividly remember being left alone in her room while her father was in the other room with his friend, when her mother came home. She can remember how angry her mother was and how she threw things at her father and his friend until they left, and how hard she'd cried with her in her room and skipped school the next day. Mina hasn't seen much of her father since then, though she doesn't bring it up much. She doesn't even try.

♣ She looks up to her mother, and wants to be just like her as the strongest woman she knows. Mina loves to find adventure when she can, though at the same time she's conflicted because she doesn't want to worry her mother if anything happened to her. She loves to be around plant life, so much that she even begged her mother for a plant box in her room for Christmas! Her mother calls her the 'Star Princess', despite her not acting like a princess (to her, anyway). Her mother always told her that, when she was a baby, her mother would play Classical music for her when she slept- Which she guesses is why she enjoys Classical music so much today. There is no genre she loves more than Classical, and that is a known fact.

♣ Chander is a significant person in her life, as he is her first sibling despite him being adopted. Mina was, at first, jealous of Chander's presence and how her mother had given him so much attention, until her mother told her the full story of how she came across Chander. Now she lets him in with open arms, and instead of calling him her 'adoptive brother', simply refers to him as her big brother. She is very affectionate and clingy towards him, and when she isn't listening to her mother- It's Chander. She loves learning about new things with him by her side, especially if it's baking! She is especially fond of him because of how he is so willing to play with her even though she's a girl. She is considerate of Chander's background, and refrains from playing scientist or doctor with him. What matters most to her is that his presence made her and her mother much happier. She is quite conflicted over her feelings towards her father, and refrains from answering questions about him when asked. Though when school calls for a fatherly figure to be present, she feels out of place, and often blames herself for not having a father.

[SIZE= 10px]◆ Only two people truly know of his origin, and that is Anna and Mina. Chander was born along with his twin, to a single mother who died shortly after childbirth. He and hie twin sister never really had names, and were instead nicknamed by other children who lived in the orphanage they lived in. The orphanage caretakers were kind, though Chander had always grown up feeling like they had some underlying plot, especially since orphans tended to be pulled out for whatever reason. They always claimed the children were adopted, but the disappearances always seemed so... odd. Eventually, he and his sister were awoken in the middle of the night, told by one of the caretakers that they were 'chosen'; They had no choice, but to take the little belongings they had, and departed. The twins found themselves being brought to an underground (literally) institution that specialized in honing the skills of what they supposed were humans with supernatural abilities. There were different experiments for different abilities, and Chander's was sense deprivation, much to his dismay. At the age of four, he would be forced to lay in a room with loss of sight, smell, taste, hearing, and touch for hours or even days on end. This was to bring out his 'Sixth Sense', as they said-- And they turned out to be correct. He'd made friends with the spirit of a deceased girl, an old friend of his from the orphanage nicknamed Small, and she intended to help Chander and his sister break free from the institution. When he was five years old, their great escape was planned out and ready for action, and Small had assisted the twins in breaking free.[/SIZE]

◆ However, when they were running, Chander hadn't realized how far behind his sister was, but by the time he'd turned around, she'd fallen into the sewers and drowned. Chander, urged by his friend, made his way up to the surface, and simply kept running. As successful as the mission was for him, he'd lost his sister, and had no place to call his home. He was homeless for what he believes was half a year before one night, on a cold Winter's eve, when his life would take a turn for the best. Chander was curled up on the sidewalk, shivering and hungry after an unsuccessful attempt at stealing from a farmer's market. His friend, believed to have passed on to Heaven, was gone at this point. He was cold, alone, and possibly could have died. Anna took action and offered to bring him to her home for food and shelter, to which he had agreed with reluctance. With his odd appearance, he was often subject to strange or disgusted looks, so he feared this woman had bad intentions for him. Instead, she did just as she said, and gave him food, warm clothes, and a bed to sleep in. He felt terrible that night, as it was Anna's bed while she slept on the couch, but she insisted it was okay. After a week of remaining in that home, he finally told Anna and Mina of his origin. With his consent, Anna adopted him as her son, and gave him a proper name: Chander Sterling Helsing.
​

◆ Chander is a usually quiet and composed boy, but he can also be playful around his sister when she needs his participation. He is polite, and usually does his best to not upset anyone. He is incredibly overprotective of Mina though, especially since she reminds him so much of the sister he had lost. Chander does his best to help out around the house and take care of his sister, though Anna always insists that she can do it all herself. Due to his appearance, he fixes his hair to hide his pink eye and show his brown eye more. Mina had suggested an eye patch once, though he politely declined it as it would only draw more attention to him. He enjoys reading and spending time with his family, and unlike most boys, he isn't afraid to be seen holding his mother's or sister's hands. Though he is a bit disturbed by how often he sees spirits, as they can range from kind to malevolent, especially when they realize Chander can see them. He stays up at night very often, mostly to try catching up on his studies, since hie time spent homeless and in a lab weren't much of use to his academic ability. Nonetheless, he has Mina and his mother to support him.

Chander has incredibly pale skin, and due to the lack of melanin in his skin - His mother will often put sunscreen on him to keep his skin from being harmed by the sun. His hair, as expected, is a pure white that he grows out some to part in bangs off to the right side of his face, over his pink eye. His eyes are heterochromic, meaning they're differently colored, with one plain brown eye and the other being the typical pale pink from albinism. He stands at 4'3", and is fit but still quite skinny.
