[/div] [div class="tabsContent tabsContent2" style="display: none;"][div class=tabcontainer][div class=heading]the plot.[/div] [div class=textbox][div class=scroll] The death of Sabine Wicker had been on everyone's tongues, even the humans. It was truly sad the way she died, a drowning? It seemed almost surreal. Everyone believed that woman was considered to be unstoppable, whether or you're a magic user or not, Sabine always just had that thing that made everyone drawn to her. It's a real shame that she died, but there was something about it that just didn't make sense. There was something more to it. Not a lot of people thought so, maybe you thought it was actually an accident, if so? Good for you, that's what they want you to think. Maybe your life would be spared. Wicker's Grove is generally a safe place, it's quiet, and it's as if witches don't even live there in the first place. The humans live in total blindness of it all. The magic users have no big plan to 'take over the world,' or rule everyone, that's not what it's about. This is their home, their sanctuary, and they protect it with whatever means they have, what the humans don't know won't hurt them. But what will is a demon that's recently been released onto the small town. Secrets will be revealed, relationships will form and shatter, lives could be taken as new ones come to light, and a darkness threatens to take over Wicker's Grove. Let's just hope they can stop it in time. [/div][/div][/div][/div] [div class="tabsContent tabsContent3" style="display: none;"][div class=tabcontainer][div class=heading]the roles[/div] [div class=textbox][div class=scroll]It's highly recommended that you read the lore beforehand! Gives you a little insight on who they are family wise, and... it's a pretty great story thanks to the beautiful KingofAesir KingofAesir
<-- The Prodigy Open 24-28 A descendant to the founder of the town, Ambrose Wicker was her ancestor, she's the eldest daughter of Scott & Sabine Wicker. She's smart, responsible, and... overall powerful. Her mother used to help her strengthen her powers through various sessions, it's a shame that they didn't spend more time together before she passed. That reason alone could be why she's not a very big fan of using any kind of magic at all. She'd rather be powerless but decides to keep that secret to herself. She does what she has to do for her family including an arranged marriage which of course wasn't surprising, what was, is that she was getting married to a descendant of the Castlefords. Their family had been at a rivalry for centuries, but with the magic starting to fade more than ever; it seemed to be like their only shot at keeping magic alive in each of their family lines. So, she entered the marriage with no complaints and tried to make the best of it; despite not feeling much for the man, she likes to think they get along just fine, after over 3 years together, she grew to love him. After trying for a child naturally, not much had happened. So, she did more than a few fertility spells, a while later she found out that her spells have been tampered with, and the only one who knew where she hid her supplies for the ritual, was her husband. An argument rose between the two and they separated, although still married, the eldest had just moved back into her family home with her younger sister and father. (Later in the Roleplay, it turns out one of those spells actually worked and she's pregnant with her husband's baby. Keep that in mind if you try out for the role!)
<-- The Wild Card Taken 18-20 The youngest daughter of Scott and Sabine Wicker. She'd known to be Mischievous, flirty, and witty. Unfortunately, she was born with untamed magic, it's hard to say why it happens exactly, but it's every magic users worst nightmare to have a child unable to reach their full potential, sometimes when the magic is too powerful for one person, it acts out in what could be the worst way despite doing her doing many, many training sessions with her sister, it's extremely risky for her to cast any sort of spell. Due to her 'issues' with magic, it was easy for her to become envious of her older sister who has it all, and yet; decides not to use it. Her emotions can get in the way of spell-casting or just causing magic to go awry in any sense, so it's best not to piss her off. Many treat her as fragile much to her chagrin, Of course, this is just another person believing that she's unable to cast and that's why she does, she'll prove them wrong. It's extremely rare for her to succeed but when she does; it's the greatest feeling in the world. Recently, the girl has become fascinated with black magic. Yes, yes, she's aware of all the warnings thrown out at her. ... but what's the worst that can happen?
<-- The False Prince. Open 25-29 He's charming, suave, rich, handsome. All amazing qualities, no? He also has a long line of flaws. He's known to be selfish, pretentious, egoistical, and arrogant, I could go on but I'd rather not. This man is the descendant of the Castlefords, the long feud between his family and the Wickers have been dimming for the past few years, extremely slowly, but it is nonetheless. He didn't want the arranged marriage even more than he didn't want a child with The Prodigy, hence why he sabotaged the fertility spells, whatever happened between them was... well, was between husband and wife. And when it was time to try for an heir to the family line, he didn't say no. But once she failed to get pregnant the first few times, he saw it as a sign. He knew what power she was capable of, they were merely just fertility spells but they were sure to work. He couldn't bring a child into this world without a loving family. He's been in love with The Half-Blood since they were children, she kept him sane, in check if you will, when everything felt wrong she was his rock. He didn't hate The Prodigy, but it wasn't anything near for what he feels for The Half-Blood. For right now, the marriage was on hold. After-all they only had a small fight. As afraid as he is to displease his family, but... he's not sure if he wants to get The Prodigy back. He isn't sure what he's going to do, the only thing he is sure of, is the hell that's going to reign once his family finds out; it's bound to be ugly. (The CastleFords are not a good family, whether or not you want to play The False Prince as a villain is up to you.)
<-- The Half-Blood Open 25-29 It was no doubt that this girl is related to the Albrights, Her mother had an affair with a human, resulting in a half-blood child. She's generous, sweet, and pure. ... as pure as someone can get when they're involved in an affair. Well, okay, it only happened once. But the thought of it alone almost sends this particular girl in a deep state of guilt. Of course she knew that The False Prince's family would never allow her to marry him due to her lack of being a full blooded user. The stares from his family were bad enough already, half-bloods weren't very common, but they still had gotten the stink-eye from most of the magic users' around town, humans not so much, but nevertheless, it still hurt. She still has capable powers, they're just not very strong. The Half-Blood loves The False Prince more than anything, but is it worth destroying someone's marriage? Hurting someone who doesn't deserve to be? The Prodigy and her actually used to be close friends as children due to them living across the street from one another. It was only after The Prodigy's mother passed away is when she became distant, of course The Half-Blood understood, but she didn't think she would've been shut out. The fact that they used to be close only worsens her guilt. Recently, she's been keeping an eye on The Wild Card, she could've sworn she'd seen her with a tomb that she could just feel the black magic seeping out of, surely it was just nothing. Under no circumstances would The Half-Blood never use black magic. And if she could stop another from using it, she will.
<-- The Initiate Open 24-28 The Flemings were cast out years upon years ago, after marrying out of line for centuries, they became normal humans. However; not that normal. The Flemings became witch hunters, a long line of them in spite of being cast out, they planned their revenge against them, slaughtering them without a second thought. He wants to prove himself to his family, and so he was dropped off somewhere along the lines of Wicker's Grove, where it's rumored to still have witches there. Secretly, he's hesitant to become a real hunter, only after his first kill he then becomes 'a part of the family.' At first he thinks it should be simple, find an evil witch and deliver justice because of all the wrongs she caused. It was a test, a test that suddenly becomes a lot harder when he starts to catch feelings for The Prodigy.
<-- The Keeper Taken 20-24 The Keeper is a descendant of a servant to the Castleford family, this particular servant was called John and only John. As it turns out there was a rather scandalous affair between John and one Evelyn Castleford. The child that was the product of this love affair would become The Keeper's ancestor. John and Evelyn did love eachother quite a bit, Evelyn even went in so far as to step away from the Castleford family as and heiress to the main line. She would go on to live with John until they died. Their child, Daniel Blaire, a surname chosen by John and Evelyn, was given the task of light house keeper once he became old enough. But this was more than simple lifehouse keeping. Hidden away in the lighthouse was a magical artifact known as the Ward. An almost perfectly circular crystal, that when activated by anyone of the four families' blood would create a powerful ward around the whole town of Wicker's Grove. This ward took much from the activator though, as whoever activated it risked the chance of their power being sucked dry in sustenance of the ward. It's a one use magic that could potentially save the town if it was ever used. Despite all the turmoil the families faced over the years, the Ward was never used and was eventually forgotten about. After being moved into the mechanical light when the lighthouse was rebuilt, the descendants of Daniel Blaire continued to keep the lighthouse without knowing of the power it held. The Keeper herself was a bright child, showing great promise in many academic fields in school, but ultimately deciding to stay behind in Wicker's Grove. With a passion for conservation, she still tends to the beach and serves to protect the animals that live or lay eggs there. The Keeper also operates the lighthouse, making sure it's operational and guiding ships to dock. She's happy with where she is and spends her time, when she's not in the lighthouse, walking the beach or helping her grandmother run a small bakery in town.
<--- The Outcast Open 16-17 He's the younger brother of The Keeper. This boy is a quiet, nerdy kid. He's not afraid to voice his opinions when he feels like he should. Extremely artistic and creative, he draws his emotions away, sometimes he doesn't even remember what he drew in the first place, weird huh? Oh well, it's not like he pays too much attention to it. He doesn't pay attention to a lot of things come to think of it, especially girls, boys, or... well anyone. The Outcast has never been interested in anyone sexually and he made peace with it. The only thing that didn't make sense to him is why he couldn't stop staring at The Prodigy, or feeling... a weird way around her, that didn't make any sense! But he couldn't get her out of his head, he hardly even knew her enough to be this infatuated with her! ... but that didn't stop him from sketching her whenever he could. Little does he know a certain love spell was placed on him mistakenly, ... whoops. (This Character is Asexual, he's not meant to have a love interest in any way in the roles. In-case you couldn't place it-- He is clairvoyant. He sees visions of things before they happen and write them down with no remembrance of such. Being this character would give the writer a bit of an 'in' on what the big plots really are, certain hints would drop as the writer continues to play this character.)
[/div][/div][/div][/div] [div class="tabsContent tabsContent4" style="display: none;"][div class=tabcontainer][div class=heading]the lore.[/div] [div class=textbox][div class=scroll] In the Spring of 1692, the denizens of Salem, Massachusetts were overtaken by a fear of the dark arts. A group of young girls in the village started claiming to be possessed by the devil and accused women in the village of witchcraft. After these accusations, a frenzy overtook the town. The women that were accused and prosecuted weren’t even witches, but even so, the actual witch blood that existed in Salem began to fear for their lives. There were only four true blood families in Salem with various branches between them, the Wickers, Albrights, Castlefords, and Flemings. All of these families and outlying branches that lived in or near Salem as well, different surnames or not they were still considered to be under the presiding family names. As the chaos took place in Salem the patriarch of the Wickers, Ambrose Wicker, took matters into his own hands. Ambrose rallied the families together and they hatched a plan to leave Salem. Together Ambrose, Giles Fleming, Lawrence Albright, and Rose Castleford gathered up some less witch trial inclined citizens and migrated them away from Salem under the guise of a new religious branch of the Protestants. They called themselves the Church of Wicker, named after Ambrose’s family. They set upon a land of their own and named the town Wicker’s Grove. For years after, the citizens would practice a less strict form of Protestantism while the witch families lived amongst them, safe from accusation. The Fleming family would eventually write themselves out of history as they married into non-witch lineages and were banished from Wicker’s Grove by the other families as they became witch hunters once the magical blood in them had become so diluted that they couldn’t perform the most simple of spells. The remaining families wrote the Flemings out of the town history entirely, and a bust of Giles Fleming that once stood in the town center with the other three founders was torn down. Whispers run through the town’s non-magical citizens about their town’s history and the people that founded it, but they are nothing more than rumors. Today, the witchy past of Wicker’s Grove has all but been forgotten as they morphed over the years and became a fishing town, fit with a dock and a thriving fishing business. The town of Wicker’s Grove from then on had been little known, just how it’s magical denizens prefer it. [/div][/div][/div][/div] [div class="tabsContent tabsContent5" style="display: none;"][div class=tabcontainer][div class=heading]The Rules. [/div] [div class=textbox][div class=scroll]Hi there! If you've read this far, I'm so amazingly glad because writing all this broke me. Yes, I had help from my co-gm. KingofAesir KingofAesir Okay! So, like I was saying, thanks for reading! I decided to be a little different and there's definitely going to be tons of drama in the roleplay, but this on the lighter side of things. So don't expect a super dark and grudgy roleplay because the cliche 'bump into coffee shop' scene is bound to happen. So, let's get started on rules? Yes? Yes okay. [1.] Follow the guidelines of RPN, blahblahblah. You should know this already. Fade to black. [2.] This is not first-come first-serve. We will be accepting character applications that are best suited to the story. [3.] This is going to be a semi-literate roleplay, typos and such are okay, and I'm not very good either. Just make sure I can understand your posts. [4.] Two paragraph minimum. There is no maximum. You wanna write me a whole novel for a post? Okay, sure, go for it. I promise I will read it, you beautiful bean. [5.] Be Creative! Have fun with it, if you're not sure about something, let me know and I'll be glad to help. [6.] Discord is a must for OOC and plotting, you gotta be active there too! I like friends pls. [7.] All huge plots must be discussed with either me, or KingofAesir KingofAesir [8.] Please don't apply if you're not willing on staying! I hate roleplays that die out, and I worked hard on this, don't hurt my feelings. [9.] If you're going to be gone a while, let me know! I won't kick you out or anything, I just need a reason for why you're gone so we don't have to replace you. [10.] Be nice to KingofAesir KingofAesir she's a baby. hehe. So I know you've read the rules and everything. Please leave a piggy 🐷 when you comment. [/div][/div][/div][/div][/div] [div class=tabs]
