  Welcome to 14th Avenue Community Living! Newly created in 2020, 14th Avenue was created to be a cost-efficient way for young adults aged 21-29 to branch out into the world. Residents are unique and diverse. Are you a student? Artist? Entrepreneur? Self-employed? Or are you just trying to get by and discover who you are? Everyone is welcome at 14th Avenue! Together, our residents create a welcome and shared space in this one-of-a-kind commune in the heart of Chicago.
  
  Come live in the renovated firehouse! The building is three storeys: the bottom is the shared living space consisting of the living, dining, and kitchen, the second floor has 7 bedrooms and a bathroom, similar to the third floor. Located in the heart of Chicago, there is lots to see and do around 14th Avenue. Grab drinks and a meal at Calm Street Pub & Grill, start your morning with a coffee or tea from Chicago’s Espresso Express, or dance the night away at the Blue Velvet! With such a close proximity to everything fun, 14th Avenue has become a hot spot for young adults!

  Hey there, thanks for checking out 14th Avenue! This RP will focus on a group of 14 young adults (21-29) that live in the newly renovated 14th Avenue community living building. The characters will have their own rooms but will share the building with everyone in a commune/dorm style of living. This RP will be heavily character driven, filled with drama, romance, and so much more! Bring your juiciest ideas to the table for 14th Avenue is just the right place to stir the pot. 14th Avenue is a literate RP and I really hope for this to be active and long-term.
  
  One of the main things that I'm looking to do is to include every RPer in the plotting process. We will have a calendar of events of which everyone must think up one or more events. I have seen groups that leave the calendar entirely up to the mods and while that is totally cool if it works for them, I want everyone to feel involved and that they're having their ideas heard! Major plot points/events (ie. parties, holidays, etc.) will be made as a group as to include everyone so it is so important to be active on the Discord. Roleplaying is a team effort so I want everyone to feel welcome and involved in the process! Obviously there will be smaller plots between characters that do not need to be on the calendar but all the big things will!

  LITERACY → Basic literacy is a must for this RP. I will not be policing anyone, please just try to make an effort and if you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

  POST LENGTH → While quality is always preferred over quantity, I would like 2-3+ decently sized paragraphs. If you are writing with someone else’s character, please try to match post length. One liners are NOT allowed!

  ACTIVITY → Please be prepared to post daily or every few days. This rp will be active and will have regular posts. Please also be prepared to be active in the Discord. Plotting will be done as a group and all ideas are welcome!

  OORP → If you are planning to start drama OORP, please do everyone a favour and leave. This RP is a place of acceptance and support, not of hatred or intolerance. There is a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for bullying or drama. If you have issues with another writer, please deal with it on your own with respect or feel free to tell me and I will help you deal with it.

  DRAMA → Drama is welcome and invited in RP but please leave it out IC. Plots will be created to involve everyone and please let me know if you have any ideas for plots, I’m all ears!

  FACE CLAIMS → Face claims are a must and they MUST be realistic. At least one image/gif of your FC must be present on your CS and on every post.
  
  『 SEVEN 』
  CODING → Coding is welcome but not at all required. Quality of writing is so much more important than quality of code and I completely understand that not everyone can/wants to use code!
  
  『 EIGHT 』
  ACCEPTANCE → Characters are not first come first serve! There are only 14 spots in the RP so unfortunately, I can only accept characters that will work well with the RP. You may apply with a maximum of two characters but keep in mind that they may not be both accepted.
  
  『 NINE 』
  PLOTTING → I want this RP to be heavily character focused but I also want to include everyone in the plotting. Every RPer will be required to come up with at least 1 major event to include in the calendar. Feel free to come up with more and let me know! I want everyone to feel involved with the plotting and the calendar, not just myself and mods. Roleplaying is a team effort!

  Beatrice D'Arco

  The very first resident at 14th Avenue, having lived there for just over a week though she has lived in Chicago her entire life. A current med school student, Beatrice recently retired from the military and has goals of becoming a trauma surgeon. She currently works at the Blue Velvet as a bartender. An intelligent and helpful woman, Beatrice is a good person to have as a friend if you can get past her closed-off exterior. Do not make her angry, though. Beatrice hold grudges like nobody's business.

  14th Avenue's resident Norwegian wordsmith. Her socialite personality helped her to adjust when she moved to the United States from Norway when she was 15, though the homesickness of her home country led her to delve into the world of literature, becoming an active reader and writer. After graduating, she pursued a university degree in history and went on to begin writing as a career. Eira is a critical woman, attentive and judgmental of the world around her, a world that is often used to seek inspiration for her various creative writings.   One of 14th Avenue's creative minds. Angel is currently attending the University of Chicago in their art program, working as a digital artist on the side. He is a bubbly and bright individual, known for his kindness and creative spirit. Growing up, Angel always enjoyed art and with the help of his elderly neighbor, began delving into the world of visual art at a young age. At sixteen, Angel was kicked from his home that he shared with his parents and younger sister due to being outed as gay at his high school.   Elijah is 14th Avenue's man of mystery. Growing up on a ranch in North Carolina, Elijah was close with his family and community. His creative and sensitive personality led many of the people he grew up around to demand he 'man up' and act like the other boys his age in his community. After graduating high school, Elijah decided to leave his town to explore the larger city of Chicago for college. Elijah is intuitive and individualistic, though he is stubborn and is a perfectionist in what he does.

  New York City born, Finn was born into a family of fame. His father was an actor in Mexican soap operas, his mother was a model. Finn fell deeply in love with in love with a girl named Katey Fitzpatrick during his high school years which left him with a broken off engagement and a child. He went on to go to college for music and has worked as a model and songwriter ever since. Finn is one of 14th Avenue's artistic minds and sensitive souls.   14th Avenue's educator extraordinaire. Born in Medellin, Columbia as the youngest and only girl of three children, Fiona's childhood was spent with her older brothers or at her father's shop. The family moved to Los Angeles when Fiona was nine. As she adjusted to life in the USA, Fiona found comfort in libraries and fictional worlds in books and of her own mind. During her university degree in education, she met a man by the name of Andrew who she would date for two years before their abusive relationship ended. In the process of moving on, Fiona found herself at 14th Avenue. Fiona is a kind individual, dedicating much of her time to helping (and worrying) about others.   Fhai is a 21 year old figure skating coach. Growing up in rural countryside of Wisconsin, Fhai was the youngest of three children. Wintertime lead Fhai to fall in love with ice skating and his mother to enroll him in figure skating lessons. Fhai showed natural aptitude and began training for a competitive career on the ice. He moved to New York to continue his career in his teens, leading him to become recognized internationally. Fhai ended up battling with obsessive compulsive disorder after graduating high school, crushing the motivation and passion that once drove him. A few years later, Fhai ended up getting back into the field as a coach while attending university, drawing him to 14th Avenue.   Sweet in personality and in career, Precious is a pastry chef and business owner. Precious was born into a single parent household, just her and her mother. Most of her childhood was spent with her grandmother while her mother worked long hours to keep them afloat. Her grandmother is the person that sparked her love of food, experimenting with new flavours and recipes on her own time. After graduating high school, Precious attended culinary school and would ambitiously go on to open her own business, Chi-Town Confections.   Chris is 14th Avenue's resident chuckle-head. Stockholm born and raised, Chris was the second born child of the Lindberg family. The expectations were high for Chris in his youth, his parents both being academics with highly respected jobs. Chris wanted to show that he was independent and self-reliant without his parents' influence and money, leading him to practice comedy and eventually work at stand-up comedy clubs around the city. His comedy career came to a fizzling halt after his academics began suffering. He did two years of college, much of that time spent learning how to tattoo, and pursued a career in comedy on the side.
