He had become emotionally drained after arguing over clothing with a stylist. Most of the time, he’d keep his mouth shut over ugly clothing choices, but this time it was unbearable. The outfit was tight in all the wrong places, but she claimed it was supposed to be that way? Hilarious, pathetic and extremely irritating. To put it simply, they didn’t get along, and they gave him a new outfit.

As he stepped out of his manager's car onto the pavement in front of the run-down apartment, the sharp drops of rain attacked his skin. “Shit,” he muttered before turning back to wave to his manager. The man was clearly pissed at the model, and his goodbye was emotionless and clipped. It was disappointing but Baek Cheon shoved off the feeling and left for his apartment.

Unfortunately, he didn’t get far before his right foot landed into a deep puddle, water quickly finding itself into his shoe. His sock was squishy and made that god awful texture every time he moved. Running a hand through his hair with a grimace, he pulled his foot from the pool of rainwater before entering the apartment complex.

He supposed once he got to his apartment he would be able to distress over a cup of tea. But for now, he was miserable, stuck in wet clothes sticking to his skin while the droplets dripping from his hair hit the elevator floor. Even with the idea of getting on the weight off his shoulders, he still didn’t want to enter his apartment. It was small, cramped and had that weird, musty, old scent. It reminded him of his failure.

Eventually, after a painful elevator ride and a short walk, he was finally in his flat, slipping off the soaked shoes and socks while shimming off his jacket. He flipped the switch to the side of the door and watched as the living room lit up. He scrunched up his nose at the putrid tan walls before trudging to his bedroom to change into something that didn’t cling to his skin.

He pulled the lamp chain in his bedroom before hurrying over to his dresser and looking through his clothes. If he could just find some clean, fuzzy pajama pants and a plain t-shirt, he’d be stress-free immediately.

The lights went out -- mid-changing everything went out. He glanced around blindly. It must’ve been a power shortage, or maybe a tree knocked into power lines. “Are you fucking kidding me?” He groaned as tugged the flannel sweats on. “I just want one peaceful moment in the entirety of this day, and I get this?” In moments like these, he could be pushed to tears. The overwhelming amount of irritation and somnolence could make his eyes water, and his breath labored.

Clenching his jaw, he swiped his phone from his bed and looked through his contacts. The streetlights shone through the window, making the room have an orange tint while metal and glass objects glimmered eerily. It was honestly scaring him and reminded him of why he hated living there.

ANEKO HYUNSUN

her apartment | "come save me handsome men" | n/a
Aneko was making coffee when the power went off. Her old coffee maker shined dully in the light filtering in through her gauzy curtains and its loud sputtering slowly died out. She turned and looked around. Haha, someone's just messing with me again... But the unspoken words died on her parted lips. The dark apartment was completely empty to her vision. Concern tainted her features and she fumbled around for her phone. Slapping the counter fruitlessly, her pats got more and more urgent until her hand found her phone.

The familiar feeling brought her a sense of comfort. She flicked it on and started sending off messages in the chat, glad to see others were active. As much as she didn't want to admit it, Aneko was scared. The dark silhouettes of her fingers over the bright screen shook with each letter she tapped out. Her invitation to visit wasn't necessarily to help anyone with their "creative writing". She needed company. After sending one final message she turned her phone off and placed it back down on the counter. Everything else was bathed in a heavy black. Only the gauzy white fabric of her curtains managed to make themselves visible.

Aneko tore her eyes away from the mesmerizing, rippling light playing across them and stumbled across the kitchen to another set of cabinets. Pulling one open her hands dug through tools until meeting the handle of a lighter. She drew it out and lit it with a loud click. The flame glowed orange and flickered weakly. It fought against the looming darkness but barely managed to cast its glare more than a few inches. Aneko extended her arms, holding the lighter like a sword and cautiously waving it around.

The weak flame managed to illuminate the small candle she had placed next to a discarded bag of chocolates. A smile lit up her face and she lowered the sword-lighter down to light it. Grabbing a handful of chocolates, she scampered into the darkness to grab her phone before eagerly running back into the small circle of light cast by the candle. Reopening the chat, she idly texted some more, popping chocolates into her mouth and waiting for someone to hopefully visit.

Han dragged his hands through his hair arbitrarily, deft fingers tangling blonde locks into horrid knots. He was just rough of damaging his phone with the taut clutch he had on it as it was kept to his eardrum. He was practically shouting at the receiver on the other end of the call. "No, mom. I don't f- I don't care you found me another role. I know when you loo- ha, who am I kidding, you haven't seen me in three years. I know when you hear me you hear is an actor you can bend to whatever sick will you have, but I'm not sure if you forget I'm your son, too. You took everything I loved and destroyed it to live through your child- live an acting career you never had. So no, mom. I don't give a shit you found me a role in some romantic comedy." He ripped the phone from his ear, pushing the red button that ended the fated call. He jostled his phone into his jacket pocket, murmuring to himself with no distinct concept of what he was saying.

Only two select characters got to see Han Tae Su bitter like this: his mother, and his (arguably) best friend, Park Baek Cheon. Nobody else got to hear his bark (or his bite, for that matter), and he was appeased with it persisting that way. He had Baek Cheon and Min Jee You, one of the confreres of his on the more intimate side of the spectrum, to back him in public when someone chose to tyrannize him. Only two people needed to see Han is his angry state- everyone else? Well, they could perceive Han as the most righteous soul in the word for all he cared.

Han sighed in relief when he got to his apartment complex, only to feel beads of precipitation splatter on him. He cursed under his breath and pulled his hood on promptly, opening the front door of the complex and ducking inside with the unmistakable goal of getting dry to avoid getting ill later on. "Jesus christ," he said softly, before commencing the tread up the stairs to his apartment.

He fumbled for his keys, finally uprooting them from his pocket and sliding them into the door. When he got inside, he dumped his damp jacket on the carpet he'd put next to his doorway, along with the bag he was carrying with him. He ran his hands through his hair, trying to get the tangles out of it. He'd need a drink after this- he glanced at his cupboards, which he knew had glasses of vodka, whiskey, and just plain beer inside it. He went to go put on a wholly dry set of threads, and by that, he meant his pajamas. He got halfway to his room before everything went dim in his house, and he panicked almost immediately, managing to seize his phone from the counter and get it on to check the chat him and the others residing in the apartment complex used before he had a meltdown.

He put his two cents in the chat sometimes as everyone made conversation, only getting surely interested when Aneko mentioned meeting up at her apartment. He agreed to the arrangement through text, putting some dry footwear on before leaving his apartment and going to locate hers. He swiped through his contacts on his cell, finding the one he'd set for Baek Cheon.

He texted his friend his location- well, destination, more like. He wasn't sure if Baek Cheon cared or not, but it was better safe than sorry. ( The code cuts off here, so-)

Shit, shit, shit, shit, shi- fuuuuuckkk – get out of the fucking way! Shit, shit, shit!

He was a mad man on a rampage. Ryu Se-Hun had thought it would be a great idea to take a break from his paintings and to pop down to the local shop to get some ramen for dinner. He thought how the evening walk would help him with his inspiration to start painting a new nighttime landscape of the beautiful city they lived in. Plus, it was the first time since last week that he had some energy to put some clothes on and venture out into the outside world. Every other day this week had been curled up in bed, going back and forth of the motions of freezing his ass off to sweating like he was a sinner in church while watching re-run episodes on Netflix. He had been living like a hermit for the last week and a half but… that was normal.

Ryu Se-Hun was usually only ever seen painting and smoking on the rooftops or quickly moving around the apartment complexes. He had no real time to hang out with people and find out their name and stories. He wasn’t like his little brother who, whilst an introvert like himself, seemed to find it a bit easier to talk to people and socialise. Se-Hun liked to keep to himself and keep quiet, not bothering about other people’s problems. He had bigger fish to fry; like dealing with this cancer that was trying to destroy his body. And also making damn sure that his chest PICC line wasn’t going to get soaked by the rain. Hence his reasoning for sprinting down the sidewalk towards the apartment complex, holding the plastic bags close to his chest, attempting to cover up the fabric that laid on his PICC line.

Finally, he had arrived at the complex. Se-Hun burst through the doors, feeling like his heart was about to explode from his chest as he finally came to a full stop. Using the wall to steady his balance, he crouched over, panting, and trying to catch his breath. His chest heaved up and down; sure, he had only been running for a couple of minutes and he was in good shape. But the chemotherapy made him feel weak. Damn, his doctors would kill him if they knew he had run so much, so fast and in such a short sprint of time. He was meant to be on bed rest. Slowly, he stood to his full height and leant his back against the wall. Dropping the plastic bags on the floor, Se-Hun closed his eyes and tried to concentrate on his breathing. Droplets of water ran down his soaked locks, dripping onto the floor as the twenty-eight-year-old silently focused on regaining his breath.

Slowly, he could feel his heart starting to calm down. As he did so, he opened his eyes once again and pulled the collar of his shirt to look at his PICC line. Okay… It looked… well shit, it looked a bit wet. He’d have to go up to his apartment as quickly as possible to grab a towel. That’s when the lights began to flicker. And then they shut off.

You… mother fucker” Se-Hun cursed out loud.

The damn power was out. Which meant the elevators were out of order. Which meant he was going to have to walk up fifteen flight of stairs to get to his damn apartment. Oh, hell no. That wasn’t happening. His baby brother could get his fat ass off those damn games and come down to bring him a towel instead. There was no way he was going to have the energy to walk up those stairs by himself. Well, he could, but it would take a thousand years.

Quickly, Se-Hun took out his phone and selected his brother’s number. Raising the phone to his ear, he patiently waited for Se-Jun to answer. Uh, yeah. Patiently. Come on you little shit,” he grumbled into the phone, tapping his foot. “Answer your fucking phone you shit head.

BAI WEN YANG
mood: studious to astonished
location: his apartment to aneko's apartment

[div class="heading"]hard work never lies!

Couple of hours ago, Bai Wen Yang along with his classmates had just finished their economics lesson which was their last class for the day. They were currently focusing on microeconomics and he found it interesting on how it all worked. Though, there were occasions he couldn’t understand his professor who had used terms that he wasn’t quite familiar yet in the korean language which was why he was thankful for his seatmate for explaining it all to him. The moment he had arrived back to his apartment did not differ so much from the sight of him in the classroom. Wen Yang was processing the lesson that he learned into another notebook for the same class. He wrote down the lesson based on what he understood and at times would use his native language, mandarin, in order to explain the concepts better in the way he could understand best. Compared to the notes that he had taken from class, it was definitely more neater but Wen Yang’s penmanship was always sharp and neat- just like the person himself.

After he had finished writing for all of his classes for today, he had started studying in advance for his future lessons. In reality, it would still take weeks for that lesson to be brought up if not at all but it didn’t matter for the young male. He had taken out several different korean dictionaries, mandarin-korean, cantonese-korean, english-korean and even a dictionary specifically aiming to explain terms in his major. Needless to say, Bai Wen Yang took his studies very seriously. He must have spent an hour or even longer, focused on his studies. Once he had reached a good stopping point, he decided that he deserved a break. Wen Yang stretched his body. He took a glance at his phone to check on the time. He paused. If this was the time right now, then back at home, it would be-. He quickly picked up his phone and started chatting his jiejie. His sister seemed to making a reply as he could see the bubble that indicated such but before he could see any message, he suddenly had gotten an incoming call.

Yingyue-jie.” Wen Yang spoke up first, addressing her in their native tongue. “Baobei, you’re not busy right now?” His sister’s warm and gentle voice asked him. The nickname she had used to address him was rather embarrassing in his current age but knew that she had done so out of affection. “Mmm. I’m taking a break from studying right now.” He answered back. “How is it there? Are you adjusting well? Your lessons not too difficult? How about the food? Are you eating well?” It was as though he opened up a dam and his sister started flooding him questions, concerned for his current well-being. She had been the one to support him in studying abroad but she couldn’t help herself from being concerned as she had experienced it for herself. “Jiejie,” He laughs. “I’m okay, don’t worry so much. I’m studying well. I’m eating well too. Everyone around me is treating me nicely.” He patiently answered all of her questions. “-that’s why,” he added, “Be sure to tell baba and mama not to worry too much as well. You know how they are.” he spoke with a hint of a smile. “Of course, baobei. Remember to take good care of yourself there, okay? Though they act tough but baba and mama miss you a lot too. You’re jiejie misses you the most though!” she teases him in the end. “Okay, okay, jiejie won’t bother you any longer. Go back to studying. I love you baobei!” Yingyue puts an end to their conversation. “I love you too! ” Wen Yang responds back as he waited for her to end call.

He goes back to his seat, placing his phone somewhere in the table along with his reading materials. Wen Yang had just started to get back to his groove in learning when the power suddenly turned off. The room had suddenly turned dark. He couldn’t recall exactly where he placed his phone so he had to wait for a few moments for his eyes could adjust so he couldn’t differentiate between the pile on where was his mobile device. He automatically turned on the flashlight as soon as he found it. Since the power was off, he started switching off the lights that he was using before proceeding to unplug whatever electronics was plugged on to prevent voltage surges when electricity was restored later on. Afterwards, he started looking for candles to use as light when his phone started beeping from the notifications. Based on the familiar sound, it came from the chatroom that involved everyone living in the same bedroom.

Wen Yang stopped whatever he was doing as he watched the chatroom become flooded. He could only put in his responses now and then. The more the chatroom progressed, the more disturbed the young male was. Wen Yang was worried, greatly, of his fellow tenants and what kind of mischief that they were up to this time. From the looks of this, nothing good. He paused reading to finish fixing up his place due to the current lack of electricity. It seemed Aneko was inviting everyone to her apartment. He had replied to the chatroom that he was on his way as he hurried on checking everything in his apartment. When there seemed to be nothing wrong, he started making a mental checklist on what else he needed to do. There didn’t seem to be anything else so Wen Yang just got a hoodie and cap before going outside.

He locked the door. He checked the keys on his hand before placing it inside his pocket. Wen Yang was dressed rather casually wearing a red hoodie with a shirt underneath and black sweatpants. It took quite some time as he kept checking the chatroom as he walked. His steps naturally to elevator, clicking on the button on instinct. It took him couple of minutes later to realize that Oh! The power is down! Right! He slapped his forehead, unable to believe his stupidity. Wen Yang started moving to the stairs to climb his way to Aneko’s. It took quite some time but he finally reached her apartment. Wen Yang first gave a knock before informing her the chatroom that he had finally arrived.

Noona, you aren’t seriously planning on eating ramyeon, are you?” was the first words out of his mouth when she opened the door for him. He was concerned with her diet based on the discussions they had in the chatroom.

[/div] [/div] [/div] [div class=right] [div class=scroll] To say that Min had been working diligently would be an understatement. She had attended her class for the day, then as soon as she came home, she had barricaded herself inside her room. That had been seven hours ago. The door still remained locked, and Min was still obsessively working within her room's confines. Her desk was littered with papers arranged in such a fashion that only she could decipher the order. Next to her, a bulletin board rested against the wall. She went back and forth between scribbling her thoughts on a piece of paper and adding a few ideas to the bulletin board. Neither were for a school assignment, rather for a.....personal vendetta. As Min scribbled in her elegant script, the inkstains decorating her palms, she failed to hear the rain outside. There was a flicker--and soon her room was drenched in darkness. That was the first event that made Min look up in surprise. She waited for a few seconds, waiting to see if the power would come back on, and when it didn't, she scowled. Today was her lightest day, the only time she didn't have too much work, and now she couldn't even work on her side project.

The face of her father's murderer grinned at her triumphantly from where he was pinned up on the bulletin board, and Min knew that she had to cease working. She made her way to the closet, removing a back panel of the wall to slide the bulletin board back in its hiding spot. Soon after, the papers were swept into a neat pile and tucked into one of the many folders she had decorating her shelf. Her hands reached out for her phone, and she smiled to herself as she read the messages. She texted a response that she had been studying--which wasn't exactly true--but it was a harmless lie. No one was going to get hurt by it. She blinked in surprise as Aneko extended an invitation to her place--that girl was always too nice to be true.

"I need a drink." Min grumbled. Her stress levels were off the charts--not to mention she had an exam tomorrow--and the burn of alcohol was something that she was craving. She voiced her sentiment in the groupchat, a small smile coming to her lips when the bartender seemed to recognize that she desperately needed a release. She'd have to make her way to him soon. The petite woman shed her reclusive ways as she finally opened the door, cautiously stepping out into the communal living room. "Everyone okay?" She called out gently. "On a side note, is anyone here?" Her ears perked up, listening for an answer from either one of her roommates.

Min kept moving, her hand reaching out cautiously to feel around. She knew she could have used a flashlight from her phone or even the emergency flashlights that Hyo-min kept around, but she didn't want to drain power from them just yet. This was her apartment, she knew the basic schematics of where things were. There was no need to begin leeching power so early. As her hand hit cool granite, she realized that she had found the kitchen. See? There was no need for a flashlight when she was within familiar territory. She felt her way to the window and yanked the thick curtains away, allowing some light to flood the place. Adjacent to the window, her hand felt the cool knob of the cabinet. A quick inspection of its contents was unfruitful: she definitely had to go ask the bartender for a shot.

Min moved around quickly trying to get as much of the dwindling light from outside to filter in as possible. Her eyes caught on a few stray droplets from the window and she realized it was raining outside. It might be nice, she mused, to go outside and get drenched in the rain. It would be cleansing--an outlet for her stress...

Aneko could feel her shoulders relax as more and more texts came into the chat. Something about it gave her an odd kind of solace, even though she was painfully aware that she was all alone in her dark apartment. At a neighbor's request she got to work on starting a pot of ramyeon. Her hands managed to find a pot's handle, though it took a significant amount of clattering protests from the dishes and curses from Aneko herself. Using a half-filled water bottle, she filled the pot and set it on the stove. For a while she simply stood there, watching the pot and idly sending off texts every few minutes.

A relieved smile graced her features when she heard the small knock and saw Wen's confirmation text. She hurried over to the door, small candle in hand, and slid it open. When she saw it was in fact Wen and not some spooky-shadow-killer she grinned and waved him in before tightly closing the door behind him.

The candle's flickering flame managed to illuminate both of their faces. At Wen's comment, Aneko felt her cheeks flush red and her loud smile turned into a sheepish one. "Noo, of course not... I probably should get a handle on my diet anyways, haha," SHe responded. Looking down, she headed back towards the pot of now boiling water on the stove.

She quickly bustled into the pantry and retrieved a packet of ramyeon and haphazardly dumped it into the pot. "Ah, where are my manners? Have some chocolate," Her face was painted in warm light from the candle, highlighting the remnants of blush still sticking on her cheeks. It wasn't hard to decipher that she was embarrassed-- after all, ramyeon was one of the only things she could afford-- but she was determined to make light of the situation.

Aneko whisked away off into the living room to grab another candle she had sitting on the coffee table. Thank god I found that stupid sale. Bringing it back to Wen she lit it and smiled once more. "Are you doing alright? Hopefully the power outage didn't interrupt anything important, yeah?"

[div class=container][div class=image][/div] [div class=blk][div class=title]ANGEL BAE SEO [div class=line][/div] [div class=lil]resident soft musician[/div][/div] [div class=b][div class=lilimage][/div][/div] [div class=info] [div class=post][div class=scroll] Angel had peacefully woken up that morning to the quiet of her room. The blinds on her windows were halfway open letting the light trickle into the serene room. Decorating the room was an array of whites, tans, browns, which didn’t really match her white and blue clothes she normally sported. She slid off her giant mass of a bed, it felt like a cloud, and began her day. Her normal morning routine consisted of making her bed, watering her plants, and drinking coffee or hot chocolate.

Checking her watch one last time she smoothed out her clothes as she gave a final glance to the mirror. Angel liked to be presentable due to how many eyes were on her, plus looking nice made her feel less nervous. After she slipped on her white shoes she took hold of her cello case. Thanks to Angel’s short stature the big case looked massive compared to her small and rather meek physique. This was especially prevalent from how the girl carried her instrument of choice. She had small and weak arms so instead of carrying it by the one handle on the side she used the backpack-like straps. The cello towered over the small girl.

By the time she had left, attended class, and made her rather slow return to the apartments her heart was already jumping up and down. She made her quick escape from the lobby by heading straight towards the flight of stairs. Elevators always made her stomach queasy so she opted to walk when she could. Slowly her heart race calmed as she got into the rhythmic motion of stepping. By the time that she reached her room she was back to normal. Once she opened the door and settled in she unzipped her cello case. Getting ready to warm up she stood up to go get her music stand when the lights went out. To say the girl jumped up out of shock would be an understatement. With shaky hands she pulled out her phone to turn on the flashlight.

With the light from her phone her nerves went down but even still her hands trembled. With nervous steps she made her way to her door. She held onto the stairs railing as she walked down the steps. If she had a free hand she’d be miming her favorite part of Étude Op. 10 No. 4 by Chopin to distract herself. This wasn’t the first power outage and it definitely wouldn’t be the last. It was a wonder why the frail rich girl decided to live here instead of in her own place. When the musician made her way down the stairs her eyes widened when her flashlight landed on Ryu Sehun. She quickly lowered her phone so the light wouldn’t blind the male.
“Are you okay?”she asked him warily with a small hopeful smile praying he wouldn’t snap at her. She heard him cuss at his phone and she didn’t want to be next.

Your call could not be connecte-

Ya, that little shit,” Se-Hun cussed, taking the phone away from his ear and gazing down at it. Knowing Se-Jun, he was either doing one of four things. One; playing games online. Seeing how the power was out, he probably wasn’t. Two; Stuffing his face in the fridge. With the power out, he was probably going through and trying to ‘save’ all the food. That was likely. Three; He was on the toilet, pooping, and on that damn chat group thing that he had conned Se-Hun into joining. Apparently, all those who lived in the apartment complex were on it. Se-Hun couldn’t understand how to use the damn thing for the life of him. Besides, it was probably just full of young people anyways. He didn’t want to seem like a creep. And then, finally, number four; he was probably asleep and dead to the world. Se-Jun had a habit of being able to fall asleep anywhere, no matter the situation, and would be dead to the world.

He was about to go ahead and try to ring his brother again. That was until he felt a light hit his face. Squinting and cussing lightly under his breath, Se-Hun looked over to where the light source came from. It seemed to have come from a phone which was attached to the hand of a young female. And that young female was asking him if he was okay, and giving him a smile. No. I’m not okay. I just ran for five minutes straight and I feel like I’m about to go into cardiac arrest. My noodles are probably already soaked because the plastic bags didn’t do a great job covering them. Not to mention my PICC line is probably ruined and I’ll have to make a stop off to the hospital to get it cleaned up to avoid the risk of any infection. And now my stupid ass shit brother won’t answer his phone and come and help his Hyung like the lazy ass he is.

Wait a second. His girl – he had no idea what her name was, primarily because he generally made no effort in getting chummy with the neighbours – looked like the same age of Se-Jun. Maybe she knew him? What if she went to school with him. What if… she could see if he was online and get his stupid ass to come here. “Ya!” he called over, raising his index finger and pointing over to her. “You, ya. Come over here” He took a couple of steps forward to meet her halfway. You know Ryu Se-Jun, right? The gamer YouTuber that lives here? He goes to the university around the corner here and is on the swimming team. Ya, do me a favour,” Se-Hun placed his phone into the hands of the young female before him. “Find out if that little shit is online for me on that damn group chat thing. If he is, I’m going to beat his ass for ignoring my calls.

As he stood, patiently waiting to see if his brother was a big ass like he was making him out to be, Se-Hun ran his fingers through his wet locks, pausing as he held them back for a moment. His dark eyes gazed from the phone to the female. Geez. How old was this girl? At her age, he was probably still living at home with his parents. It wasn’t until he was twenty-five that he actually moved out and that was only three years ago. They sure like to make those young ones independent these days, right?

BAI WEN YANG
mood: nervous
location: aneko's apartment

[div class="heading"]hard work never lies!

Wen Yang had been waiting outside with his hands in his pockets. He glanced at the outside. It had gotten pretty chilly due to the rain. He hoped no one had ended getting drenched because of it, otherwise, they would have gotten sick. They should really bring umbrellas with them no matter where they go. Wen Yang picked up his phone and gotten a reply from Aneko that of which opened the door just as he finished reading.

I’m not saying you should stop…” He drawls, finding the situation awkward as he tries to redeem himself. “It’s just. It’s not healthy, noona. I’m worried, okay? You need to eat healthily to live a long life. ” He reasoned. Wen Yang just appeared small that though he was taller than her, he was looking up to her with puppy dog eyes. The older female... just seemed to run away from embarrassment though.

He followed after getting one of the guest slippers that was available. He remained standing, watching her busy herself- feeling quite awkward as he was unsure what to do. Should he help her cook? Should he help prepare the plates and chopsticks? "Ah, where are my manners? Have some chocolate," Wen Yang wasn’t quite sure on what to do. Should he accept? Would it be rude to say no? His mind was spinning and he couldn’t quite formulate a reply in the end.

"Are you doing alright? Hopefully the power outage didn't interrupt anything important, yeah?" He shook his head at her words. “I was just studying in advance. I already finished everything that was needed immediately.” He believed he already stated it in the chat but repeated it again. “Oh, that’s right. Noona. I was planning to invite everyone else as well but my college is having a soccer match. After the competition, anyone interested to join can join as well. Do you think anyone would like to come?” He had asked. There were a lot that was interested in sports in their apartment.

She walked over to him hesitantly not wanting to trip on anything. The girl nodded along when the other talked about Se-Jun as she did recognize the male. Angel didn’t talk to a lot of people in the apartments as she normally kept to herself, but she could recognize and name quite a few of them. The girl was surprised to find out that he was on the swimming team though. The more you know. Before she could say she knew him he already assumed she did. This entire encounter had kept her pretty speechless.

The others phone in her hand felt like an important relic. Angel was a gentle and careful person in general, but right now she could pretty much be a grandma with how slow she interacted with it.
“Do you not know how to use the group chat thing?”she asked making conversation. Her voice was mellow, but the longer she talked a hint of nervousness slipped in. “I don’t normally use technology so I can relate,”she added as she opened the app. Angel had a lot of other things that took up her time. Not to mention that she had only started to use her phone when she entered high school to keep in contact with her parents abroad.

While she waited a few seconds for it to load she willed herself to look away from the bright phone screen to the male who owned the device. He seemed older than her, but to be fair Angel has always been bad with telling age. She turned her eyes back to the app as she clicked on Ryu Se-Juns profile.
“I’m sorry for not introducing myself before I’m Angel! I live on the second floor,”she introduced before she handed the male back his phone. “And he’s online,”she silently hoped that the stranger wouldn’t get too mad at Se-Jun. Maybe the other was just busy! Or maybe he left his phone on! Angel couldn’t help but think positively.

[div class=container][div class=image][/div] [div class=blk][div class=title]JUNG HYO-MIN [div class=line][/div] [div class=lil]the control freak[/div][/div] [div class=b][div class=lilimage][/div][/div] [div class=info] [div class=post][div class=scroll] Hyo-min snored lightly under the crackling sound of a white noise machine. Usually the young woman never took a nap during the day but the stress and demand of her job had been taking a toll on her lately. Last night she’d slept maybe 3 hours, mostly because she’d been up wondering where her damn brother was. The young Jung sibling was like a nervous mother watching over a newborn, always worrying about something. Jae-suk had wandered in around 4am which is when the brunette had finally slept.

Just as she was about to enter a deep sleep, a loud shut off sound followed by silence woke her. Hyo-min reached lazily across her satin bedspread, picking up her phone. The screen light up brightly, blinding her in the darkness. She lay a finger on her screen, scrolling through the messages. “A blackout. A blackout? No way, there’s too much to do...I have to finish my work!” The editor’s facial expressions flew through a quick change from tired, to confused, to panicked. Not only would this interfere with her laptop work, she worried about the other people in her building. Would they all be prepared? Her fingers were quick, announcing to the others that they had supplies.

Is anyone here?” The faint sound of Min’s voice drew the worried girl to the living room. Her phone screen was bright enough to guide her. “Mimi, I thought you were out with my Oppa. He said you guys were going to eat after work.” Had Jae-suk lied to her? Ugh, how despicable and wrong. Hyo-min would pester him about his fibbing later.

Her face turned down to her screen again, requesting help from Shan for a drama script she’d been working on. Some of the scenes seemed a little out of place or lacking emotion and Hyo-min wanted to make sure it didn’t ruin the mood of the overall show. “Do you know if Shan is home? I texted him just in case, also are you going to Aneko’s? If so could you bring back snacks and see if Mandu is there?”

Oh man, this was a classing Hyo-min moment. She was rambling and mandating all at once, it was hard for her to stop once she’d started. This was one of the reasons that Min Jee always asked her to take a breath and relax. It was just so difficult, I mean how could she relax if everything was off and her close friends were scattered?

[/div] [/div] [/div] [div class=right] [div class=scroll] "Hyo-min? No, I haven't see him at all. I went to class today and have been working on....a few assignments since. I'm sure he's alright, don't worry. I'll text him to be safe." Min said calmly, pulling out her phone. Her fingers flew quickly across the keyboard, tapping out a simple message. [to jae-suk: your sister just asked about you. next time you want to use me for an alibi, atleast tell me before you do.] The message was rather curt and simple--if there was one thing that Min simply didn't appreciate, it was Jae-suk making his sister worry by not covering up his bases. She knew damn well when affection could get stifling, but that was no reason to become sloppy and inconsiderate.

"Shan's not home. I have to go pick him up from class." She said, glancing at her watch. Shan's class was across the campus, and in this weather, she wasn't about to make the walk. Besides, she had just leased the new Maybach, and Min was eager to get a few miles on the luxury car. Luxury vehicles weren't really her thing, she was more of a sports car kind of woman, but this one had been such a good deal--and besides, her three other cars were waiting for her in the event she wanted to trade out her leather lined seats for horsepower. "We'll bring back snacks on the way, and then when all four of us regroup, we can head over to Aneko's. The last thing we need to do is to play cat and mouse in this weather and condition." She said.

"Don't worry, Hyo-min. I've texted your brother. I'm sure he's fine and he lost track of time as he always does. You know him, when is he ever early or even on time to an event?" She teased, her eyes sparkling. She deviated her attention from her best friend to her phone, quickly tapping out the plan. She didn't quite want Aneko to worry about her presence, and didn't feel right about just showing out of the blue. It was good to keep her friends in the loop--something that she'd have to yell at Jae-suk about. She knew that her roommate had a tendency to get lost in his work, but atleast he could have told her, instead of leaving her and Hyo-min to worry.

"Let me go pick my brother up. I'll grab you snacks too." Min said with a grin, pulling Hyo-min into a reassuring hug as she passed her. "Relax. I'll be back soon. Text me if you need anything." Min called over her shoulder as she made her way to the door, leaving her umbrella and any form of protection from the weather in their apartment. The shorts and off-the-shoulder top that she was wearing would do nothing to protect her from the moisture, but her goal hadn't been that in the first place. She raced down the steps, making sure to not slip on the marble flooring, before racing out into the steady spray of the sky. She tilted her face upwards, her eyes closing for a moment as the rain steadily coated her face. She did a little spin, a smile curving up on her usual serious features, before striding purposefully to the parking garage. A small buzz in her back pocket alerted her, and she shook her head with a roll of her eyes. Shan was coming with someone else, meaning that the only task she had left was to get Hyo-min her snacks.

Luckily for Min, the convenience store was nearby. A brisk pace was all that was needed for Min to reach the store in record time, her calves slightly burning with the exertion. A buzz of her phone captured her attention once more, and she sighed, shaking her head. Curse Jaejoon and his ridiculously cute daughter. Min couldn't stand the man himself, but his daughter held a special place in the ice queen's heart. Her hands filled with bags, Min made her way back to the apartment, barely managing to open the door with her occupied hands. "Hyo-min! Snacks are on the kitchen counter. Hello, Shan, do help out our dear with her work, yes?" She saw that her "brother" was opening his mouth and cut him off quickly. "Yes, yes, I'll dry off properly, no, I won't get sick." She called over her shoulder as she retreated into her room to change. The shirt and shorts were completely soaked, and she traded the articles of clothing for a pastel pink sweater and short athletic shorts. Her hair was the only thing that gave an indication that she had been outside in the rain, as it stuck to the back of her neck. "I'm going to Jaejoon's! I'll be back soon!" The woman said as she rushed out the door.

There were only a few people in the world that could make her so harried, and she wasn't at all ashamed to say that a little girl that lived in the floor above her was the key to melting her. She made her way up, feeling the way the cold air made the wetness of her strands stand out a bit more, before reaching the apartment. She raised her hand to knock quietly, and pulled out her phone to text him anyways after she had knocked, feeling a chill draft down her back. [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div]

PARK JAEJOON

"Yumi, baby, is everything going okay over there?" Jaejoon called over his shoulder from where he stood in the kitchen, chewing his lip as he focused on not maiming a finger in an attempt to chop carrots. The little one had been oddly quiet for the past few minutes, which likely meant she had finally been hit by the crash of her sneaky chugging of a Pepsi from the fridge earlier that day when he'd been at work. Previously, she had been bouncing off the walls for hours on end, racing around the sitting room and catapulting herself off furniture while proclaiming her affinity for avian flight. "Yumi? Are you asleep?" he repeated in Korean, already knowing the answer but pressing anyways.

At the exact moment that Jaejoon began to heat up the stove, the lights overhead began flickering dramatically before powering down altogether, leaving the man frozen in place with a lukewarm pot of water and an array of haphazardly chopped vegetables. His phone immediately began buzzing on the coffee table, but he paid it no mind. "For fuck's sake," he swore to no one in particular and gingerly set the knife down on the counter to feel around his back pocket for his lighter. "Of all fucking times."

Careful not to knock anything over in the darkness, Jaejoon set to work lighting the various candles around the apartment, scents of cocoa and brown sugar swirling through the the air. Once the room became dimly illuminated enough to function as usual and he had checked to make sure Yumi was still knocked out, the frazzled father plopped down on the couch with a frustrated sigh to check his notifications. It seemed the power had gone out in the entire building, leaving everyone and their mothers in a state of begrudging extroversion. It would, of course, be just their luck that they all happened to be home during the outage, because why the hell wouldn't they be? Life wasn't fair enough for such mercy.

Just to top it all off, the distant sobs of a panicked toddler brought an instant ache to his temples, urging him to sink deeper into the couch in an attempt to stifle himself out of existence. There was only so much crying he could take in one day, and he had just about reached that limit. "Power's out, pumpkin! Go back to sleep!" Jaejoon called back to her, After shooting back some more messages in the group chat, his ears perked up at the sound of Min's gentle tapping at his front door. The man hopped to his feet and swung it open, gesturing for her to take a seat while jogging back to close the door to Yumi's room.

"Hey, sweetcheeks. You're just in time to help me carry all my paraphernalia down to Aneko's," he teased with a grin, gesturing towards the glass cabinets filled with various bottles and shot glasses. "Yumi's just woke up, if you want to go cuddle her while I stuff this shit in a bag. I'm fuckin' beat and this storm isn't helping." Jaejoon paused as he took in Min's slight form, shivering from the draft, and his brow furrowed in displeasure. She was a rat, no doubt, but he still looked after her to a certain extent. "And grab one of my hoodies while you're at it. Or else," he tacked on for good measure.

Seul-Ki often dwelled in the past, unable to move forward. She found herself stuck remembering old conversations, rethinking them over and over until she wasn’t quite sure which situations shes imagined and which ones were real. Even now, as she stood in the pharmacy, she waited in the aisle for just a little bit longer than necessary, taking in the nostalgia. There was something familiar about seeing the pills tightly packed in rows that comforted Ki. She slid her fingers against the small container of Klonopin, momentarily wondering if her prescription would still work or not for it. She palmed it and went to the registers to pay.

Her phone buzzed like crazy as the people from her apartment sent frantic messages to each other. She scrolled through what they were saying.

Power outage? Great. Just another thing she needed today. Everyone seemed to agree on meeting up at Aneko’s room. Ki didn’t really feel like going. After work today, she just wanted to collapse on her bed and sleep for the next 24 hours.

“That’ll be 332,246 won,” the voice abruptly pulled Ki out of her thoughts. She frowned. Not only was the price half her pay for the week, but it was also half of her rent money. Well, she supposed she would just have to ask the landowner for an extension. Again.

She set her bag down on the ground, fished for her wallet, then paid the man. He handed her her receipt, “Thanks,” she mumbled and left, bottle in hand.

~

Ki’s body threatened to collapse with every step she took. She made her way to her room, her shoes squelching with water every time her foot made contact with the floor. Her body was soaked from the one and a half hour walk in the rain, but that didn’t matter now - not since she was seconds away from sleep.

She reached behind her, ready to slip her hand into her bag and grab her key, only to realize that her back was a lot lighter than it should’ve been. “Shiiittt,” she groaned, kicking her door.

She left her bag at the pharmacy.

So much for going straight to sleep.

Ki glanced over to Aneko’s room, which was just two doors down. With a small sigh, she reluctantly made her way and knocked on the wood.

[/div] [/div] [/div] [div class=right] [div class=scroll] A small smile tugged on the ice queen's lips as the door swung open: to anyone else, that would have been a simple gesture, but from her, it was as though she had jumped up and cheered. The smile changed into a raised brow as she realized that the man was not as put together as he seemed. "I genuinely don't know what you'd do without me." Min said with a roll of her eyes as she raised a hand in gesture for him to stop, before swiftly fixing his collar and adjusting one of the buttons on his shirt. "You make fun of me all the time for studying so much, but I am the perfect example of a human being with working brain cells. You are the perfect representation of the opposite." She said, then faltered as he gave her the order to grab one of his hoodies. "Hey, take it cool there, bossy man. I'm not one of your weekend girls to boss and grump around." She said, shaking her head as a reprimand.

Despite looking grumpy, Min reached up to squeeze his shoulder, a silent soothing gesture. Don't worry. I'll take care of it, she seemed to be saying. She wasn't...friendly with Jaejoon, but rather looked out for him in the same manner he did for her. After all, she had a soft spot for the single father and his little girl: when she saw them together, she was reminded of how she used to be with her own father. And if she had the time and patience to help out...well, why wouldn't she? Of course, even on a good day, the womanizer drove her up the wall with his antics and his jokes. She had thought about stabbing him far too many times for their relationship to even be classified as friends. She largely suspected that he echoed the same sentiment as well. The petite woman turned in the direction of the bedrooms, choosing to slip into Jaejoon's first. She grabbed the sweater as he had told her to do, one of his hoodies that practically drowned her. With the faint smell of his cologne swirling around her, she made her way to the next room over.

She knocked first as a silly little courtesy before slipping in. "Hi, bug." She hummed sweetly, her face softening. Only a few rare people could see her expression so carefree...so loving. "It's Auntie Min. I heard that someone might have gotten a bit scared from the current cut. I got a little scared too, honey. You want to keep me company?" She asked with a brilliant smile. "You know, Auntie Min went to go get Auntie Hyo-min some snacks just a few minutes ago, and I snagged you something as well. I think you might like this treat, but we'll have to save it and eat it at another time, hm? Your daddy might skin me alive if I gave it to you now." She giggled, making her way over to the bed.

Keeping her promise of cuddling, Min neatly sank down next to the little girl, and gathered her up in her arms. A thumb quickly swept away the remnants of tears, and Min's lips gently pressed against the hair that seemed so similar to the coppery strands of her own. If anyone saw her now...no one would believe that she even had the emotional capacity to care for a child, much less the child to actually like her presence. She gently rocked the toddler, trying to soothe the child. "Don't worry, sweetie. All is well." She hummed the familiar saying that had dominated the entirety of her life.

[div class=container]Mun-hee woke up groggily, blinking his eyes slowly open. It was dark in his apartment, darker than he remembered. He looked to the window, but the curtains were drawn. Yawning, he sat upright, his cheek peeling off the surface of his notebook paper. A pencil was stuck to the side of his face, which he swatted off and away, letting it hit the ground without a care about picking it back up. He'd deal with that later once he decided to actually clean his apartment. Eventually, it would get done. Eventually.

Another yawn left his lips. Why was he so tired? Oh, yeah, he'd stayed up all night studying only to go straight into an early morning class. He came home to, as per usual, study some more. He was especially paranoid about his grades lately, finding that his hobbies were taking up so much of his time that his performance elsewhere was dropping. Thus, he'd set his blogging to the side for the time being, if only to make room for more studying.

It, to be frank, sucked.

Rubbing his tired eyes, Mun-hee stood and stretched, twisting his torso this way and that. That seemed to help get his blood pumping again, which was a sensation he reveled in while it lasted. He made his way over to the light switch and flicked it a few times but to no avail. Was the power out? His phone buzzed against his desk, signaling a new message. Retrieving the device, he noticed that it wasn't just one single message, but rather a whole series of notifications that he'd missed out on. Yup, definitely a power outage. That was the only reason he could see for there being so many messages. Everyone must be panicking like he was probably about to do.

Sighing, he tapped open the group chat and sent his messages asking why it was so dark. It was starting to freak him out a little, although he didn't really like admitting that. Apparently, some of them were going to meet up at Aneko's place to keep safe while the power remained out. Okay, he could do that. Gathering up his textbooks and notebooks, as well as a few pens and pencils, Mun-hee stuffed everything into his messenger bag and slung it over his shoulder. It was only then that he remembered he was in pajamas, having reverted to the comfortable clothes after having come home from class. Whelp.

He asked in the group chat if it would be okay for him to arrive at Aneko's only in his pajamas. He didn't feel up to braving the dark pit of despair that was now his bedroom. No thank you. He was content to just stay here, in the living area, at his desk. The sound of rain pitter-pattering against his balcony door was incredibly offputting along with the eerie silence of his apartment. Shuffling over to the curtains, he drew them open, the light from outside barely making a difference.

Making his way to the kitchen, Mun-hee used his arms to feel around the drawers for a flashlight. Finding one, he brought it up and clicked it on. "Ah, much better..." he breathed, "...but also much creepier." The light against his furniture cast ominous shadows upon the walls. Lips pressed in a firm line, he made up his mind. "I'm just gonna go." It would be nicer to be around some company. Then again, could he really just show up at Aneko's without bringing anything? That seemed... weird to him. He should perhaps bring some food, or maybe a board game or two. Boardgames sounded easier to get than preparing food did, so he made his way over to the coffee table and found some underneath it.

With Burumable in tow, he left his apartment and headed down the hall. Finding the stairs, he made his way up one floor and to Aneko's apartment, knocking on the door and waiting patiently. If prompted, he'd speak through the door, "Aneko? It's Mun-hee! I brought Burumable for us to play."[/div]

The girl was sunk on a sewing machine, careful not to make haste and painstakingly perfecting every stitch and thread loop was as fine-tuned and polished as it should be. Despite her frantic attention, the signs of overwork and weariness surrounded her. There were empty cans of energy drinks & a half-empty bottle of wine around her work station. Balled-up walker sketches filled her trash can halfway and other later sketches surrounded the trash. Suddenly, the girl threw another paper ball in the trash before she rubbed the back of the neck from the stress. Today was the only day she could work on the project all day as she was working and going to school for the rest of the week— and it was the week of her sister’s engagement. She was gonna be busy and exhausted —both emotionally and physically— all week. On top of that, her AA meeting was plaguing over her like a ghost. Saying she‘d having a bad week is a understatement; the girl is having a terrible week.
Soohyeon stood up from her desk and grabbed a water bottle from her kitchen counter, reclining on the edge of the counter before she sighed and grabbed her phone from the same counter. The text messages from the apartment complex always seemed to cheer her up, especially during times of distress. After 15 minutes, Soohyeon went back to work on her ensamblé, halfway sarcastically wishing for the sweet release of death before she could finish the damned thing. Soohyeon sat down & crouched over the machine, positioning the silk garment for altering & more stitching. While creating a lettuce edge on the sleeves, the machine suddenly stopped and ruined the thread.
Thinking it was just the machine acting up, the girl struck the machine on its side and clicked her teeth in frustration. In a short second, the machine coughed its last bout of energy and pierced her finger. The girl quickly swiped her hand away from the machine, applying pressure at the wound. She scuttled to her bathroom in an attempt to find the bandaids and ointment. After the flickering of the light switch, she realized the reason why her sewing machine went out: the power went out. Not to mention, there were no more bandaids! The woman sighed and moped into the kitchen to look for her phone. Her phone was ringing with notifications and buzzing due the power outage. Apparently, Aneko was holding a get-together so everyone wouldn’t feel frightened during the storm, which she didn’t realize was happening, and the power outage.
At first, Soohyeon didn’t want go; she had to work on her project, regardless of whether her machine was working or not. But then, she put two and two together. With Aneko’s model-esque physique and the work in progress on her desk, she could work on her project and have a reference. As a result, Soohyeon packed up things in a tote bag, preparing the head out of the door— or at least she was until she took a glance at herself in the mirror. Her skin was pale and dull, decorated with blue-green veins. Her hair was frizzy and matted due to her running her fingers through her head in frustration. “At least I look somewhat thin.” She thought to herself as she walked into her room, pinching at her belly as if to check for fat. She washed her face and brushed her hair, letting her bangs messily fall onto her face & letting her earrings from her earlier errand stay on her ears. While she still looked a bit nightwalker-esque in her eyes, it was acceptable for now. Plus, she was one of the only ones attending her house, right?
After grooming herself, the girl grabbed her tote bag and walked out of the door, wondering if she was going to be one of the only one there. She read from the texts that a few people were coming. She didn’t know the exact number because of the large influx of texts during the blackout, presumably from the fear & surprise. The girl saw her next door neighbor Jaesuk’s door. She knew he was probably working late as she didn’t hear him come in. But then again, she didn’t even hear the rain pouring from outside. The girl knocked on the man’s door, wondering if he and his daughter were asleep. The sky signifies that it was already evening time but he also had a toddler at his side which meant he was either asleep by seven o’clock or was up until twelve in the morning, depending on what day of the week it was. Taking her chances, she knocked on his door, hoping he would take a rain check on the get together.

PARK JAEJOON

mentions: thirteen thirteen | outfit: x

If the scathing remarks actually got to Jaejoon in any way, he didn't show any indication of it beyond a mildly displeased scowl sent in the direction of her retreating figure into Yumi's bedroom. There wasn't much he liked about the brash woman, but if he was being honest, she was a great deal of help during times like these. Back when he had first gotten custody of the little one, the ex-convict had spent more nights on the floor of his bathroom that not, holding back tears out of frustation at not being able to tie a simple bow in her hair. Now, he could french braid her hair without even looking, but there still remained days where he questioned whether he was doing right by his tiny angel. The moms at her daycare would turn their nose up at him in disgust whenever he showed up in a tank top, hushed gossip and judgmental glares aimed at his back while Yumi's image suffered the consequences. There was only so much he could do about the society they lived in, and he knew that, he really did; things just always felt worse than they were at four in the morning.

Shoving a select few bottles of bourbon, rum, and vodka into a drawstring bag, along with some mixers, garnishes, and shot glasses, Jaejoon blew out all the candles except one on the coffee table in case Yumi woke up before he got back. With one last look around the place to make sure he wasn't missing anything, the fatigued man wandered over to his daughter's bedroom and leaned against the door frame to watch the interaction taking place before him. Min had always been exceptionally soft around Yumi, which had initially shocked him beyond disbelief, but now had been accepted as a part of their little equilibrium. The ice queen would treat him like dirt while placing little Yumi on a pedestal, and he couldn't say he preferred it any other way. They weren't friends, but they balanced each other out perfectly, and that was enough.

"She likes you best, yeah?" he commented idly, gazing on in adoration of his baby girl. "I'll never understand it. Look, she's already falling back asleep." Jaejoon holds himself back from cooing audibly, but the fond smile never leaves his lips. "Come on, we got a party waiting at Aneko's."

[div class=container][div class=image][/div] [div class=blk][div class=title]JUNG JAE-SUK [div class=line][/div] [div class=lil]the recovering addict[/div][/div] [div class=b][div class=lilimage][/div][/div] [div class=info] [div class=post][div class=scroll] Jae-suk walked briskly along the street, his hands in his pockets, his shirt lightly sticking to his skin from the moisture it contained. His face was full of both frustration and anxiety at the situation he had encountered. The man’s work partners had invited him out for drinks after hours, a seemingly pleasing idea had turned into a nightmare after about 30 minutes. It took a lot to make the man upset but somehow this situation had pushed him to his wits end with little effort. Most of the guys he worked with had girlfriends and he was always the butt of jokes that had to do with being single.

It was no secret that the accountant had a long string of bad relationships mostly due to his inability to reciprocate the same love his girlfriends displayed to him. He assured those that worked with him that it was simply because of commitment but in reality it was because Jae-suk was undeniably infatuated with his roommate Min. Blind dates were something that he hated and so when the male had arrived at the bar to find a girl claiming to be his date and none of his co-workers he had been a little annoyed. It hadn’t helped that the woman had also been a little on the crazy attached side.

The older Jung sibling kept replaying the scene in his head, his ears basically fuming as he thought about it in his way home.

••The bar buzzed loudly with the sound of groups of people having loud conversations, drinks being served, and glasses clinking in cheers. The man texted his sister quickly as he made his way to the table his co-workers usually sat at. [to hyomin: i’m eating out with mimi, enjoy your nap i’ll be home later.] This time was usually ideal because as much as his sister denied it, she always took a nap. His lie that he was out with their roommate was enough to keep her off his back, mostly because she never woke up during her nap to actually check, the girl just assumed.

He scrolled quickly through his contacts about to text Min to let her know that he’d used her as an excuse when the sound of a woman’s voice made him look up. “Omo, it’s a little rude to have your phone out in front of a woman you’re on a date with.” The man looked up confused, noticing the lack of peers at his table. Was he the only one here? Who even was this girl and why did it seem she was trying not to sound mad?

“I’m Eun-hee. Your co-worker Hyung-soo set us up, he said he told your but you’re like 20 minutes late.” Jae-suk could only scratch his head and laugh nervously. This lady was already calling him out and he hadn’t even introduced himself yet. He had come here to drink and unwind not to be scolded by a blind date.

At first he thought it wouldn’t be too bad but the rest of their encounter seemed to be even more on edge. Eun-hee took jabs at his career choice, appearance, and awkwardness more than once. As the respectful person he was Jae-suk would just laugh or make a joke out of it. Until they got to his relationship situation.

“You’re an older man, somewhat successful. You should have a wife by now or at least a girlfriend. I think so far I would be a good fit, don’t you?”

“I uh...to be honest I’m not looking for anything serious right now. You’re a beautiful woman but I didn’t even know this was a date. I’m sorry.” Jae-suk tried to sound as apologetic as possible, offering an apologetic smile. She stared back at him quietly, he assumed everything was okay. His phone began to go off so unsuspecting of what was coming he picked it up from the table to check. Apparently there had been a blackout? The man sent some playful texts in the group chat waiting for his ‘date’ to say something when he was hit with a cold splash of alcohol.

It burned his eyes as it ran down his face, his shirt soaked and face dripping. Was this a vodka cranberry? Oh no, how was he gonna get this stain out? Wait, what the hell just happened? The man looked up at fuming Eun-hee. “You’re right, I am beautiful! You’re probably one of those guys that are a closet homosexual. How disgusting.” A shove hit his arm, sending a pulse into his bad shoulder causing him to wince slightly as the very angry woman left.••

Finally he arrived at his compound, rain beginning to pelt down on him. “Of course, you know what..thanks God. I appreciate this.” He forced a pleasant expression trying to seem calm as he entered the complex. When he got to the door leading into the shared apartment Jae-suk felt around in his pocket for his keys. There was nothing. A small panic began to fill him as he checked again. Nothing. “That’s nice. Wet and I lost my keys, good times.”

He didn’t even bother knocking, the text from Min had shown him she was annoyed at his lie and he really didn’t want his sister badgering him. Instead he wandered down the dim halls coming across Angel, the baby genius, as he referred to her and Se-hun who he knew to be Se-jun’s grouchy older brother. He smiled wide trying to make himself feel better and trying to get some information of what the current situation was. “Hello fellow residents, lovely evening isn’t it?” His eyes had small crinkles as he smiled. Maybe Se-jun could keep him busy while he found time to apologize to his friends. He spoke again turning to the older male, “By any chance do you know if your brother is here? I wanted to catch up with him.”

However, he spoke little and instead read as everyone interacted. He was disturbed by the way they communicated. They were bringing up the idea of drinking, which felt like a horrible idea, considering one of the residents had an alcohol addiction, but he doubted not many were aware of that. He also wanted to keep those batman shot glasses and was highly disappointed when he was asked to bring them back.

A text dropped down on his screen, shocking him with a jolt of panic as the ringer went off. If was from Tae Su, and he swore if he didn’t have a soft spot for him, he would’ve cursed him out.

Their relationship was something. Baek Cheon felt like his bodyguard more than anything because Tae Su lacked any ability to defend himself against scums. The model often found himself scolding the younger about this, only to be told he was being mean to them. “But they were being mean to you?” It was irritating just thinking about it, and he couldn’t help but roll his eyes as he opened the text. However, the quaint text made him soften. His cat-like features relaxed into a pleasant smile before his fingers darted from letter to letter on the keyboard, typing up a response.

To Tae Su: I already said I’d be there. I’ll see you shortly.

His text wasn't the fondest thing, but it was to be expected. He had always found expressing his emotions over text to be one of the more difficult things in life. He felt disconnected from this person since he wasn’t face to face with them. His messages were usually blank, emotionless and frank as well as lacking any type of emoticons; that, unless it was for an Instagram post, which was generally just copied and pasted from something his manager wrote up for him.

Sighing, he lingered around in the group chat for a few more moments before shutting off his phone and climbing off his bed. He wasn’t in a rush; it wasn’t like Aneko’s apartment was far, and no one was in dire need of him. Not to mention, he wasn’t looking his finest, which felt unacceptable for his model status. Then again, it was pitch black, in the middle of the night, during a power outage, was appearance that big of a deal?

The darkness enveloped him as he made his way into the hallway of his floor. His switched on the flashlight of his phone, only make the eerie aura of the hall come to life. He wasn’t looking forward to climbing to the third floor. Sighing, he reached the door leading to the stairs and took a few moments to prepare himself. After a few seconds of wiping his sweaty palms on his pajama pants, he finally stepped through the threshold.

He was met with neon static and the boiling red from an exit sign. He liked to keep his fears under the wrap, but the combination of darkness and red was enough to make him let out a quiet gasp. He was able to collect himself after muttering a string of curse words and eventually moved from his glued position.

He ventured up the stairs and reached the third floor, safe and unharmed. “Well, that was anticlimactic.”

Under the light of the flashlight, Aneko’s apartment number plaque blued into view. “Fucking, thank god,” he muttered before shifting the bag of shot classes under his arm and knocking on the door. The noise of clanking glasses made him roll in his neck as he lowered his hand from the door.

[/div] [/div] [/div] [div class=right] [div class=scroll] In all honesty, Shan would have preferred for Min to come and pick him up--she was the type of driver that could drive quickly but smoothly. Often times, he would drift off to sleep in the short distance from class to their apartment, leaving her to deal with his drowsy state. But one of his classmates had offered, and so he had taken them on that offer. Their car was nowhere as comfortable as his sister's (as expected, seeing how she was currently leasing a top of the line luxury model), but he didn't remark on that at all. Rather, he bumped along, his head hitting the glass pane every single time the driver made a sharp turn. When it was time to get out of the car, Shan was quite relieved.

"Thank you," He murmured quietly before getting out of the car and rushing away inside. He only got a little bit wet from the rain, which seemed to pelt down even harder. He didn't hear his phone, erratically buzzing from where it was tucked into the confines of his messenger bag, but rather seemed intent on scaling the stairs in front of him. The flight of stairs wasn't long, but for someone who was exhausted from his classes, it seemed like a mountain. Eventually, he made it to the second floor and trudged to his apartment, ignoring anyone who lingered out in the hallway. He was too tired to interact today.

Well, unless it was Hyo-min. She had sent him a text asking for help when he had been in the car, and he had responded with the affirmative. For her, he would drop everything. It wasn't often that she relinquished control, and when she did, he was happy to take care of it. He pushed the door open after his key met the slot, slinging his bag onto one of the chairs and rubbing his face with his palm. Not long after he had walked in, mumbling a quiet greeting to Hyo-min, the door opened behind him, revealing his sister. He pressed a gentle kiss to her temple as she passed by him as a manner of greeting, before his eyes caught onto the fact that she was absolutely drenched. Min didn't even let him get a single word in.

"Dry off properly. And you will get sick. Do ask Jaejoon for a sweater or something." Shan said, and despite his exhaustion, it didn't stop a small smirk from being tugged onto his lips. As his whirlwind of a roommate left the apartment once more, he sighed. She was absolutely captivated by their friend's daughter upstairs--and unbeknownst to the father, Min had begun saving up for the little Yumi. Shan knew damn well why his ice queen of a sister was melting, and that was the only reason why he decided to hold his tongue. If Min got too attached, he'd pull her back. That was their compromise.

Shan turned to Hyo-min, deftly scrolling through the messages that he had missed. "Don't you want to go to Aneko's party? Everyone else will be there. If not, I'm more than happy to work on the scripts." In reality, Shan was very, very, very happy to stay behind and work on scripts. The last thing he wanted to do was interact and socialize, which he would have to do at the party. He just wanted to take a nap and make sure his latest succulent was adapting well, and wake up in three years.

[/div] [/div] [/div] [div class=right] [div class=scroll] He was right. She was falling asleep, her eyes closed and her breathing getting softer. "Give me a moment." She asked quietly, her hand gently sifting through the small curls of the child. Yumi was warm, nestled up against her, head gently resting against her collarbones. In all honesty, had Min not been propelled by an intense desire to get drunk and forget her father's murderer's face, she would have requested Jae to let her stay there for the night, simply holding Yumi. The young woman closed her eyes for a moment, before tilting her head down and pressing her lips to the very locks she had gently stroked a few moments before. In a fluid movement, Min managed to scoop Yumi off of her and onto the bed, quickly tucking the little one under the soft blankets. "Sleep well, bug." She whispered as her father had once done to her. It took another pause of Min being comforted by the steady rise and fall of the child's chest before she pushed herself up from her kneeling position by the bed.

In the split second that she turned away from Yumi, the soft, melting woman was gone, nothing but her iciness present on her face. "I'm old now." She grumbled playfully to herself as she reached down to massage her aching knees. "Come on, barboy. Let's get so freaking drunk that we forget we hate each other." she teased, condescendingly patting his chest as she slipped by him, out of the room and into the other spaces of his apartment. Would she want to get drunk? Yes, she would, but she didn't want to deal with the hangover that would be soon to ensue the next morning. Min had her fair share of mornings ducked over the toilet bowl, the taste of poison and venom thick in her mouth, and that wasn't something she wanted the morning of an exam. Maybe she'd leave the party a bit early and head to bed.

Doubtful. Min had the extraordinary talent to sleep anywhere (it was the staying asleep that was the problem), and had also her fair share of snoozing in parties. All she needed to find was a bed or a couch relatively isolated from the rest, and she had a little nap place. Of course, if Shan saw her sleeping, she'd get a sharp reprimand for not simply leaving the party and going to sleep in her own bed. But where was the fun in that? Min's fingertips gently rubbed against the hem of Jae's sweater, the gentle stimulation being a release for her nervous energy. She opened the door with a sleeve-covered hand, enjoying the way the soft lining felt against her skin, and propped the door open with her foot.

"Are you coming?" She called quietly over her shoulder as she peeked into the dark hallway. "Look, someone's lingering at Aneko's door. I can't see who it is, but I think it's that idiot bestfriend of yours. What's his name? Baek Cheon? Something like that. Hurry up, oppa. Slugs move faster than you." The petite woman tapped her foot impatiently, despite it having been 0.002 seconds since she had left Yumi's room. Her relationship with Baek Cheon wasn't very...well, they detested each other, and she made sure to make the latter understand that her dislike of him knew no bounds.

God dammit. His phone was going crazy with messages and alerts.

Why the hell did he not think to bring it with him?

Se-Jun sat upon the toilet, having the best poop of his life. However, he was also bored out of his little mind. He was known for always being on social media or playing games. Someone who was always on Twitch live streaming or vlogging things about his life. He had been playing these said games and even preparing to start a live stream for the night on his Twitch and Discord accounts when he felt nature screaming at his bowels. Maybe it was the spicy ramen he had created for himself or the left-over Kimchi Se-Hun had in the fridge. What ever it was, it was cleansing him out. And he had been in such a rush to get to the toilet, that he had left his phone in his bedroom, right next to the his gaming computer.

All he could hear was his phone chiming from notifications from the group chat. There was nothing he could do as the demon was falling from his asshole as he continued his bowel movements. Granted, it had been a good twenty minutes since he sat down on the toilet seat. That was enough time to make anyone bored, right? With a heavy sigh, he took hold of the toilet paper and watched it unravel to the end of the tube. Well, crap, he was going to have to get a new roll after this wipe. Well, just as he went to turn around to look for that said roll, everything went dark. The power went out and he was left there with a dirty ass and a foul look on his face.

Shit!” he cursed out loud.

He damn well knew this was his own fault. Se-Hun had reminded him to fill up the toilet roll holder in the bathroom this morning before he had headed off to the hospital for an appointment. But Se-Jun – oh, clever Se-Jun – thought that this would never happen. Because now… he was going to have to walk to the cupboard with his pants around his ankles and his pride out the window. Thank God his hyung wasn’t here to make fun of him. He slowly rose from his seat and began his horrible, crab-walk journey to the cupboard to grab some new rolls. All the while, he could hear the ringtone he had assigned for his brother. I’ve got more important shit to attend to, sorry Hyung, he thought to himself as he took hold of the rolls in his hands. Literally. No pun intended.

The journey didn’t take very long and was less stressful than Se-Jun had anticipated. Thank God for that. Within a matter of minutes, he was back in the toilet, wiping his asshole and rushing back to his room. Wait, sh- hands! He cursed at himself, running back to the bathroom to quickly wash his hands and pursuing back to his phone. He could hear his brother’s ring tone screaming at him once more. Rushing to it, he quickly unlocked his phone with an out of breath “Hello?
